We loved our wedding at the Mimslyn Inn. It's a beautiful hotel, rooms are comfortable, bellman and staff are very accommodating, and the food was delicious! We had a tasting prior to the event and the food on our wedding buffet was just as hot and delicious as it was during our private tasting. I do feel like the Mimslyn's claims to have a day-of wedding coordinator are a bit misleading. Several of my emails prior to the wedding would go unanswered for many weeks which was a source of stress for a busy bride. I did not see the wedding coordinator at ALL on the day of the wedding until I was walking down the aisle. I spent the entire morning getting ready at the Inn and she never once came in to check on me or help set anything up. I heard from a family friend that she saw the coordinator giving a sales tour of the venue to another couple on the morning of my wedding which was disappointing to me, showing me she wasn't focused on my event. She also seemed very uninformed on the logistics or typical order of the wedding ceremony. While she was present during our rehearsal, our minister orchestrated everything to ensure the big event ran smoothly. My experience with this coordinator did NOT cast a shadow over my day though. We had a beautiful wedding and our guests loved every minute of it. I would absolutely recommend this venue to friends or family, but I would caution you to plan to have a family member act as the coordinator or mistress of ceremonies on the big day.

The Inn is perfect if you are looking for a more unique venue. We were trying to stay away from hotels and that sort of feel. Sherri, the coordinator, worked well with us all through the planning phases. She was constantly communicating and verifying all of our information to make sure all the details were taken care of. We were, however, very displeased with the event coordinator, Steve. On the day of the wedding he seemed to be more concerned about doing as little work as possible and even when it was too cold outside to dance despite the space heaters we had to rent, he refused to let us move back inside so finally my own wedding guests started rearranging the reception room in order to provide space for warm, indoor dancing. He even told my planner that my mother had a melt down. I found him to be extremely unprofessional and would not be able to recommend the venue to anyone if he is still on staff there. Despite that hiccup - the dinner staff was GREAT. We were very pleased overall with how everything came together.

The place is gorgeous and the staff was very attentive. They did a wonderful job renovating the Inn.;The management was not very good. The wedding coordinator left 4 weeks before our wedding and not much of what was agreed upon was passed to the new people. We had specific things we wanted and were told it wouldn't be a problem but when the reception day arrived the food was wrong as well as the beer and we were told we never told them what we wanted (I had emails to prove otherwise).
