So pleased with our wedding cake! The entire process was so exciting! Alex took the time to design our cake around the wedding theme, inspirations, and flowers! It was very neat to have a cake that was so different than a typical wedding cake. The flowers on the cake are amazing because they are made out of sugar and look so real! Absolutely amazing. Being a bride in the middle of a pandemic came with many challenges- however, Alex and the cake was never a worry! Alex recently made the cake for my bridal shower. It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. She somehow made sense of my sporadic tastes, and turned it into something so inexplicably me! And to top it all off, it was legitimately the best cake I've ever had. Perfectly pronounced flavor, and the buttercream was smoother than silk. My fiancé's mom described it as "sex on a plate without any of the hard work" lol. Definitely one of the most well-rounded, naturally gifted cake artists out there. I was a guest at Alex’s recent wedding. The moment we walked into the reception, all eyes were drawn to her cake which she had prepared herself. Not only was it one of the most gorgeous cakes I’ve ever seen, but it was definitely also the best thing my fiancé said he had ever tasted. Her talent is clear for both the visual aspect of the cake as well as what is below the beautiful sugar flowers. She hits the mark all around. There is no doubt in my mind that a Mischief Maker cake is always the way to go!

I had seen photos of Alex’s work for a few years and finally had the opportunity to try her cake first hand. The cake she made my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary was absolute perfection, a work of art. The flavors of the cake were fabulous and the look was beautiful. The attention to detail was amazing. The cake looked as if it had been draped in sequins and multiple people asked me if they were real. The entire party, especially my parents, were blown away with her masterpiece. I can’t wait to use her for future events.

Alex never ceases to amaze me with her cake designs. I was extremely excited when she was available to work on my second daughter’s first birthday cake. Alex was able to elegantly capture the theme of Charlotte’s Web and the design also afforded keepsakes to remember this special day. This is the fifth cake I have purchased from Alex and I am sure it will not be my last.

I cannot put into enough words how awesome it is to get to work with Alex to figure out your dream wedding cake! I happened across Mischief Maker Cakes online on the Knot while trying to find the perfect person to make my cake. Growing up my grandmother made wedding cakes and from the time I was little I always knew that I wanted my wedding cake to be the centerpiece of my event. I have always loved making cakes and I knew that I wanted just the right person to make my cake. I searched and searched and from the moment I saw the portfolio for Mischief Maker Cakes I knew I had to have this girl do my cake! I had never seen anything so beautiful and incredible as her cakes. While scrolling through the website I ended up finding out she was from the same town my grandma grew up in (which is pretty incredible if you all understood how small the town is!). After that I knew it was meant to be! I started off by sending general pictures of what I liked and envisioned for my cake and Alex asked what kind of words I would use to describe the wedding I wanted to have. We went back and forth sending each other photos until we perfected the color palette! Working with Alex was incredible. She puts so much thought into every decision for the cake. I wanted something that was both dramatic and romantic. I went over with her what kind of flowers we were using for the wedding (peonies and eucalyptus were the main flowers used), so we decided to use those as the softness and use a dark navy background as a dramatic effect. The process of discussing and going back and forth with Alex until you find something that you are both very happy with and proud of is so satisfying. This is a partnership, you all get to work together and even though it was always about creating my dream wedding cake, I also got to see Alex as an artist shine and create something that she was equally as proud of. I would highly recommend Mischief Maker Cakes to anyone who is looking for something very special and unique for their wedding. That being said, this is not for people who are looking for the latest trend or are wanting some kind of cake copied off the internet. This is about creating something specialized and one of a kind for your event. On the car ride home after the wedding I couldn’t shut up about how beautiful the cake was! Everyone at the wedding was asking me about the cake- not only because of how beautiful it was, but because it was also delicious (one of my drunk friends told me she ate 4 slices!). For me, this was a one of a kind experience that I am so happy I was able to have!

Alex made my cake in July for my wedding. We were very pleased with the outcome of the cake. All of our guests complimented how tasty and gorgeous it was. If I had to do it over, I would still go the same route. I could not have asked for anyone better to make our cake. She exceeded every expectation we had for the cake. I highly recommend her!

Alex was absolutely phenomenal to work with!! My cake was a huge hit at the wedding, people were debasing over whether the flowers were real, fake or sugar!! Absolutely stunning! I got married 2 weeks ago and people are still asking me who made my incredible cake!!

Our wedding cake was one of the most amazing things ever created. Every guest was wowed not just by the look but by the taste ! They have not stopped talking about it since our big day! Alex is wonderful to work with. She helps put you in the right direction so that your cake will be both beautiful & timeless! She’s careful to avoid trends (like those horrendous naked cakes) and makes it a work of art in itself. Trust her she will be your guide ! I like that she doesn’t compromise her asthetic and keeps it classy. Also she takes the upmost care ! Like other un-educated reviews I’ve seen on here....... She has well researched info on why using fresh flowers is unsanitary and could even be poisonous. If that’s not commitment then I don’t know what is. All in all if you don’t get her for your dream cake you have my deepest sympathies because the cakes are so good you’ll regret it !!!!!

I tried to get a quote on a three tier white cake that my florist would later adorn with flowers for me. After several argumentative emails, This lady actually told me that plain white cakes were beneath her and she could never allow fresh flowers to touch her precious cakes. Thanks for making it easy to take my business elsewhere.

Our cake turned out very beautiful and delicious. We received so many compliments on the cake and the sugar flowers were my favorite--absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Alex is very talented and knowledgeable in technique, aesthetic, and integrity of cake making and designing. I am incredibly glad we chose her to make our wedding cake. It was certainly a focal point of the reception. I appreciate the fact that we were able to have someone make our cake that wanted to honor our cultural backgrounds and paid so much attention to every detail along the way. I am giving 4/5 stars only due to differences in communication style/the process of designing the cake. While I understand that her level of expertise requires much planning and attention, there were times that Alex's communication style did not match mine. I sometimes received messages late at night while my fiancee and I were sleeping and I did not feel Alex consistently showed concern for us as clients or try to match our communication needs. It lead me to remove myself from the planning process and my fiancee took over all communication from that point forward. Aside from that, which can be overlooked for such a beautiful product, I would recommend The Mischief Maker if you want a truly unique and original cake that people will be talking about for ages!

I had experienced cakes make by Alex in the past, attending events featuring her cakes, so I knew I had to have one for myself someday. My 35th Birthday rolled around, which happened on the eave of my first trip to Las Vegas. I knew that if anyone could make an awesome cake it would be Alex. After my cake, she completely ran away with ideas. Every cake of hers I have ever laid eyes on has been absolutely beautiful, so I completely trusted her in the design of my cake. When I first seen my cake, I was immediately happy! The bright colors and vibrant design lit up the entire room. Everyone was bragging on how much the sugar flowers looked so real. It was honestly too beautiful to eat. I was very satisfied with everything about my cake, from the design, to the colors, to the fountain sparklers (Vegas inspired of course), to the delicious taste. If you have never eaten a cake made by The Mischief Maker you are missing out. It has been months since my birthday dinner and my friends still talk about how great the cake was. I will definitely have another cake from her in my future!

I absolutely loved our two wedding cakes make by Alex & her team! Alex really hit the ground running in coming up with a recreation of my wedding dress design onto my cake. She went a step above and did a ton of research to make sure she didn't miss any celestial elements that were prominently featured in the pattern of my dress. For our grooms cake, Alex's fiancé expertly recreated my husbands beloved British racing green Mini Cooper with all four (yes- four!) dogs hanging out. Both were a huge hit at our wedding! Did I mention the taste even better than they look?! Hard to imagine I know! While searching for a wedding cake vendor, I stumbled upon The Mischief Maker. After seeing her work I knew that I HAD to have her create my wedding cake. I reached out to her and she responded almost immediately. The rest is history! We had an instant connection. Unbeknownst to me at first, I later discovered that Alex and I actually graduated from the same high school so I feel like we are kindred spirits in a sense. She is such a sincere person and I truly consider her a friend. We discussed everything from architecture to theme, my personal likes and dislikes, color palettes, and the overall aesthetic/feel I hoped to achieve. I sent her various photos of color swatches, floral arrangements, etc. for inspiration. She came back with a beautiful sketch that included an array of specially curated design elements and unique touches. Alex has an impeccable eye for detail. From first inquiry (several months prior to the wedding) to final product, Alex was phenomenal to work with. She was so ecstatic about my concept from the very beginning and really catered the design of the cake to fit my own personal style. She also stayed in close correspondence with me throughout the entire process and kept me updated on how things were coming along. Our cake turned out absolutely gorgeous. It was more stunning than anything I could have envisioned. To say it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. My husband and I were in total awe of how pretty it was. Our guests were super impressed as well, and couldn't believe that the sugar flowers were actually edible and not real live blooms. I placed some of the sugar peonies next to my bouquet after removing them from the cake and they were barely indistinguishable from the real thing!! Not only did the cake look lovely, but it also tasted incredible. We chose the signature white buttermilk flavor and it was out of this world spectacular! It was even better than our initial cupcake tasting and by far the best cake I have ever eaten!!! We received so many compliments on the cake as a whole. It was definitely the focal point of the reception and one of the highlights of our special day. Alex is uber talented. Not to mention, her passion and dedication for her work is unrivaled. She seriously goes above and beyond. In our case that meant braving the sweltering heat and sliding around in the mud because the lighting at our venue was inadequate for photographing the cake inside, and she refused to leave me with subpar photos. Although it was probably no small feat, Alex and her team managed to find the only shady spot (the sun was beating down that day) and work their magic. They captured the essence of the cake perfectly, and thanks to them I have breathtaking images that I will cherish forever. Alex genuinely cares for her clients and that is evident in every aspect of her work. I can honestly say that I will be a customer for life! If you want a wedding or celebration cake that is one-of-a-kind, and a cake artist that has a personality to match, then look no further! I wholeheartedly recommend The Mischief Maker!!! I promise you will not be disappointed! The overall experience I had was nothing shy of amazing and the cake was more than I ever dreamed of. Alex exceeded all expectations for our cake. People are still talking about how beautiful and delicious it was almost 2 weeks after our wedding. We also ordered the macaroons, and I wish we had gotten more! They were so decadent and were gone very quickly. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I wholeheartedly recommend Alex.

Our families love to eat. When it came to cake-shopping for our wedding, I knew I did not want to spend a lot of money on something that was not edible. I first approached The Mischief Maker not only because she creates beautiful work, but because her work actually tastes as beautiful as it looks. The same attention she pays to the details of her decorations is the same when it comes to curating the best ingredients for the bride, groom, and our guests. After a careful selection of different flavors to try, we decided to go with two flavor options for the cake-- one of them being the classic buttermilk that Alex got from her grandmother, and the other being a custom flavor all because the conversation started one day that I love green-tea flavored KitKats and my fiancée likes passionfruit after a trip to Kauai. Alex conjured up a matcha green tea cake with hints of yuzu, vanilla bean, and ginger, with passionfruit filling, and a white chocolate and jasmine mousse. I specifically wanted an "Asian-sweet" cake based on my preference in sugar levels, and Alex hit it spot-on! My wedding was nearly six months ago, and my friends and family still insist it was the best cake they've ever had. Having both the buttermilk and the matcha options definitely appealed to our diverse crowd of guests at our wedding. Alex also created buttermilk cake truffles as passable desserts for our cocktail-party and beautiful, delicate, raspberry-filled macarons as another dessert option for those that don't like cake. My new husband and I stole a few moments and halted one of the catering servers hurriedly going from the kitchen to our reception hall so that we could get first dibs to the truffles (we had not eaten all day) and totally popped one or two in our mouths as we waited in the basement of the venue to be announced as Mr. and Mrs. Parker. Very memorable. When it comes to cake design, The Mischief Maker is unmatched. For a November wedding, I wanted an autumnal look but not the traditional red, orange, and yellow hues. Alex helped me select beautiful peach tones, vibrant oranges, and succulent, silvery-jade accepts, with some antique gold, too. I was in love with the sketches of the cake. To see the cake, as well as the beautiful dramatic, couture-esque tableskirt and the floral dessert tablescape realized was unbelievable. How many people hit the trifecta and can say that their vendor was wonderful to work with, their wedding cake was beautiful, aaaaaaaand it tasted amazing? Rare. Alex is such a gem. From conception to consumption, Alex and The Mischief Maker team gets an 11 from me-- even six stars, if I could.

Throughout the wedding planning process I told everyone "the only things that matter to me are my dress and my cake" Alex's cake definitely lived up to my expectations! It was literally the most amazing cake I've ever seen in my life! Everyone thought that the sugar flowers were real, I brought the flowers home with my flower arrangements and several members of my family compared Alex's sugar flowers to the real flowers and we couldn't tell a difference! Not only was the cake beautiful but it was also delicious! We went with the buttermilk cake and everyone loved it. It definitely didn't taste like a traditional white cake which was something I was concerned about. This cake was really it's own unique flavor. Alex also makes the planning process fun, we worked together on my cake design, which I loved!! Alex insured that my cake was totally customized for my wedding. Baking skills aside, Alex is also an awesome person. My original wedding date was 05/28/16. Unfortunately in 09/2015 my father was diagnosed with cancer. Due to his health we had to move the wedding out, I lost every single deposit, except Alex's. She moved my date, checked in on me and was just amazing through the whole process. I don't have enough good things to say about Alex and her cakes.

It was amazing! I've never seen such a gorgeous cake. The flowers on the cake looked real. I wish I knew Alex' cake for our wedding. Wedding cake is important role for the wedding. If you are looking for a perfect one, I definitely recommend Alex's cake.

My cake was impeccably delivered to the "and beyond " area. My wedding was in Pennsylvania, but most of the guests were from the New York metro area. No one had ever seen a cake like this. It was the talk of the resort where we had the wedding. Alex perfectly matched the colors and theme of my wedding. I would urge anyone east of the Mississippi to be confident they could have a Mischief Maker cake as the highlight of their wedding reception or any other festivity!

There are no words to describe the detail and perfection that Alex created with our cake. The planning process was so fun and exciting! I gave her details about Mike and me, and the vision that I had for our cake, and she created the most perfect cake that we could have ever asked for. First, let me start out by saying that our wedding cake was absolutely amazing. Alex went above and beyond to help us find a cake design that really fit not only our vision for our wedding, but also something out of the box that we hadn't even thought about. Alex not only custom designed our cake for us, but also custom designed a flavor based on our favorite treats. Alex, her mother, and her fiancé truly worked themselves to the bone on the day of our wedding. The reception venue's AC was out, and it could have been a total mess, but they made sure that our cake stood firm in the heat, and worked tirelessly to make sure that it looked absolutely perfect! We are so thankful for Mischief Maker and all of their hard work!

The only thing I knew when I got engaged was that the mischief maker was doing my cake. Her cakes are a work of art and my cake has been my favorite masterpiece. We even had a custom flavor. If there is a downside, it is that the cakes are a bit pricey. However, when my mom saw the cake the first thing she said to me was "worth every f-ing penny" and it was. My family still talks about beautiful the cake was and multiple uncles confessed to eating two plus pieces. The cake(s) we're both beautiful and delicious. One year later, we have the sugar flowers in a globe on our mantle. They are still beautiful. Every bride deserves a cake from the mischief maker on her day.

The cake was AWESOME. Myself and my now wife and two members of the bridal party finished off what we could at about 2AM because one go round earlier in the evening wasn't enough. Alex knows what she is doing and she's totally worth it. Thanks for being part of our big day!

Let me begin by saying, I am not one of those brides who spent the better half of her childhood planning her wedding. I got engaged in July of 2014, and before I even made it to the bridal salon to look at dresses, my mother and I were going gaga over dessert tablescape pictures in the wedding magazines. We knew after only a few turns of the page, the wedding would not be complete without a fabulous dessert environment. Cue Alex Narramore, baker, color coordinator, and sugar flower expert! Alex was super patient with me when designing the tablescape. She and I traded pictures of the perfect bouquet and color palate, and she even went as far as going to Lowes to send me paint chips in the mail so I could match colors! She and her team were super professional and visited the venue multiple times in order to troubleshoot potential hiccups with the original design. The weeks leading up to the wedding were super stressful, but my groom and I never questioned the abilities of The Mischief Maker and her team. On the day of the wedding, we were not disappointed! She and her team have such an eye for detail! They even made tablecloths to match the custom drapery in our dessert environment! My guests were in awe and nearly everyone made a trip around our 360 degree display at least once even BEFORE the cake was cut. Everyone was super impressed that the cake was not only beautiful, but delicious, and the macarons were a hit! I can, without reservation, recommend Alex and her team to anyone who wants a delicious cake with an awe inspiring, custom design. I can promise, Alex is the real deal, and you will NOT be disappointed!

Alex and her team completely outdid themselves. I contacted her and we had an instant connection. She completely understood the untraditional, kinda crazy idea for our wedding cake. She was extremely quick on responding to any message I sent her. She went above and beyond for us and was a complete professional. Alex is a brilliant, artistic and overall fun person to work with. From day one, Alex of The Mischief Maker was nothing shy of wonderful! At first enquiry (over a year and a half before the wedding date), she was nothing shy of eager about everything I envisioned. I explained to her the entire feel I wanted for my wedding and how obsessed I was with details. I sent photos of things that I liked and felt related to what I wanted. Photos from artwork, architecture, color swatches, and florals and she came back with a sketch of something so out of this world spectacular. I was so ecstatic, I decided to have them coordinate a whole dessert tablescape to go with it. Again, she took all things from my vision and came back with a sketch. WOW is really all I can say! It was constantly evolving into something even more amazing. They went completely out of their way to make sure I had everything I ever wanted and more! We even met at our venue and talked for hours discussing the whole day and all that it encompassed to make sure the dessert environment perfectly fit with the entire wedding! Finally, the big day came! My husband and I were walking to where we were to be introduced and it completely stopped us in our tracks! My jaw literally dropped! It was BEYOND what I ever could've imagined! It was as if Alex had literally seen what I had envision in my head. Her whole team worked tirelessly to ensure that I had all I could dream of! No one could believe that the sugar flowers weren't live blooms. To say it was all breathtakingly gorgeous would be an understatement! As far as taste goes, it completely did not disappoint! It was even better than when we had it at our tasting! Not to mention all of our other desserts. Tiramisu macarons ( a specially created flavor for the groom-again they go above and beyond!) ... out of this world. My husband and I were sneaking bites of everything before we entered the rest of the reception because we knew they'd go fast! Working with the entire Mischief Maker team from start to finish was nothing but fantastic. They genuinely took my wedding to heart, not just as another client. They cared for what I wanted and envisioned and that meant the world to me. Alex and all of The Mischief Maker team have left a special place in my heart and I'm forever grateful for their handwork on making our big day just that much more fantastic. We can't thank them enough! Can't wait until our next big life event for another cake! 100 stars! :)

Alex went above and beyond from the very moment I reached out to her about making our wedding cake. I was very fortunate that she was able to accommodate our wedding on VERY short notice. You would have thought she'd been planning our cake for months, as the detail was absolutely gorgeous. Her cakes are truly pieces of art. In addition to that, the communication was excellent, and she even helped me decide on things outside of just the cake! Our experience with the Mischief Maker was perfect. From the initial contact to cake delivery she was very professional and helpful. The tasting opportunity with cupcakes for us to sample was really helpful in deciding on flavors. Without question the presentation of the cake was exactly what our daughter wanted and all of the guests commented on how beautiful it was. She truly is an artist and the cake was delicious. The cake pictures were gorgeous and added to the wonderful memories of the very best day for our daughter and son-in-law. I would not hesitate to use Mischief Maker again in the future and will for future special events.

This vendor is amazing. I gave her ideas about what I wanted with regard to color and flowers, and she came up with an amazing design that matched my wedding theme perfectly. As she developed ideas she would share them with me, and she was also very easy to contact if I had any changes that needed to be made.The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious; it was definitely one of the highlights of my wedding day.

Alex (the Mischief Maker) made the cake and dessert Tablescape for my wedding last July. Her detailed hand sculpted sugar flowers and overall table design are beyond compare. Our photographer, who had shot over a hundred weddings said that it was one of, if not the most, beautiful cake and table layout she had ever seen. Alex worked closely with me to plan a design that would compliment and enhance the rest of the reception. She even had a custom back drop for the table to hold mason jars and flowers built to coordinate with the venue we had booked. We received so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the whole table and cake were, as well as how delicious everything tasted. The Mischief Maker worked closely with me to determine the idea and theme of the cake. She beautifully incorporated the images that we shared with her into edible form. We even have keepsakes from our wedding four years later!

When I hired Alex I was overwhelmed with wedding planning and just told her to create a cake off of my theme, French Country. What she created was beyond anything my husband and I could have dreamed of. Not only was the cake delicious but it was beautiful. Her crew and her worked to create a elaborate table-scape with french inspired dishes to display the traditional french desserts. She even went as far to special order candy from France and that went with our color scheme. Also, they had live flowers that accented her eatable flowers on the cake perfectly. The best part is that she kept it a surprise so when we walked into the reception area we were blown away! A year later for our anniversary we ordered a small cake from her to represent our top tier. It was almost identical to the original one and tasted just as good. I seriously can not say enough good things about The Mischief Maker. The amount of craftsmanship, dedication, and passion that they have for creating cakes/desserts is infinite. I suggest them to all of my clients who are planning a wedding!
