My husband and I got married about a month ago on November 19th, we got engaged in 2015 and started looking at venues in OC, we quickly found that any plain venue package could start at upwards of $10,000 my husband and I were on a very low budget ($6,000 for everything to be exact)…Disappointed and discouraged we spent the beginning months of 2016 venue searching every weekend, when I finally found “The Mitten Building” I loved the name, we called in right then and they said we could come in right away! We went over our budget and our wants/needs, we saw the ceremony patio and where our reception would be, they went over pricing with us and were very accommodating. When added up, the food and venue with all of our guests (75) was going to be half of our budget, I thought this is too good to be true, I thought we were going to have to compromise on the quality of staff, venue, food, accommodations, etc. I planned the wedding over the course of the next 10 months, with constant random questions of anything you could imagine; they would always answer my emails within 24 hours and were really helpful! Fast forward to the day of the wedding, THIS is what really did it for me, and what made me eternally grateful for The Mitten Building and their wonderful staff. My husband was supposed to drop off the decorations (mind you, every single one of our decorations, centerpieces, custom tables, guestbook/gifts table was handmade, DIY projects, so unless we physically gave them the 6 boxes of STUFF, there was NOTHING for them to set up except the table cloths/napkins lol) so anyway, my husband was supposed to drop off the decorations around 9 am, so that my bridesmaids and I could help setup around 12 pm for 2 hours, so we could be stress free in the bridal room from 2:00-4:00 pm before the ceremony. My fiancé was late and didn’t drop off the decorations until 2:00, and then left so we wouldn’t see each other, 3 of my bridesmaids were missing, so it was only my MOH and I with TONS of little stuff to setup, literally scrambling and running around, Josh came up to me and asked what he could do with this or that, and all I had to do was point and he took care of the rest, but seeing the limited time, he grabbed the nice parking attendant to help, and another staff member I can’t remember the name of, but was SO sweet. Everybody was running around working their butts off so that they could have it “wedding ready” in the next 30-60 minutes. I’ve never seen a team of people come together like they did, with the amount of work they had to do with the amount of time they were allotted (because it was our fault)… I never had to ask anyone to help me, instead a bunch of random staff members, just kept coming up to me asking how to set it up the way I would like it, and telling me not to worry, that everything would be okay. Everything in the end, was MORE than okay, it was wonderful and BEAUTIFUL event. Thank you Thank you Thank you EVERYBODY at the Mitten Building!!!
