He also stated we were going to have a lot of fun and he was going to go ahead and dress up as Elvis whether we had the money to pay for it or not, he wanted to do us a favor. He definitely went above and beyond to make our day special. We would highly recommend him to any couples getting married in Vegas.

ng in 2011, I knew he'd be the one my wife and I would want to have marry us, and that is what we did. He is known for doing Elvis themed weddings if you want, but we wanted a traditional ceremony, with a slight bit of religion, but certainly not a lot. He met with us in advance, actually the night before because our schedules just happened to work out for our rehearsal dinner, and again in advance of the ceremony on wedding day. He absolutely nailed the ceremony; exactly what we wanted, everyone in attendance (125 people) loved him. My wife and I really couldn't have asked for more, he's a nice and genuine guy, and we've since met up with him on several trips to Vegas in the seven years since our wedding. Pro tip; you can sometimes catch ceremonies of him if you sneak into the MGM properties video list at https://webcasting.cashmanpro.com/mb/index.cfm Just pick a Friday or Saturday and you'll probably find recent weddings you can watch, which he may be officiating. Not the easiest thing to do but that's how we got to watch a few of his ceremonies before deciding.

I am a photographer working in Las Vegas for many years, and I came across Roland working at the Paris Chapel as well as Planet Hollywood Chapel...I was taken by his positive energy and fun spirit with each wedding I saw. What made him totally unique was the fact that he made each wedding completely customized to the couples he was working with...not an easy task for someone as popular as Roland, but that is what sets him apart from the others I work with every day, he actually loves what he does and cares about the love story of each couple he marries. I am not actually an Elvis fan, but Roland has an amazing voice and got my guests and I grooving a little during the ceremony. Not only was Roland hilarious and engaging the whole time, but he also said some very sweet things that touched my heart. (I am not sentimental at all; Roland's ceremony was genuine and heartfelt). I feel that Roland captured the joy, love, and humor that my husband and I have in our relationship. I felt completely comfortable during our ceremony and not awkward, which I usually am when expressing feelings. That was all because of Roland. Roland actually surprised me by coming back during our reception, instead of our cocktail hour, to entertain the guests. I am so glad that he did! It was so much fun dancing and singing with him. The guests were surprised and excited to see Roland again. Even weeks after our wedding, my friends are still watching videos of Roland and showing off our ceremony to others. I think he may have been the highlight of the evening for them. Regardless of what type of ceremony you want, I really think Roland is the perfect choice for any couple. id, I called it a day and didn't have to worry about our officiant. I got an email every 6 weeks or so, just reminding me of my booking and saying how excited he was to participate in our wedding. There was a small glitch where my wedding date got mixed with someone else's, but it was resolved promptly and there were no issues because of it. About a week the wedding, Roland called me to apologize about the date mix-up and wanted to see when we were arriving, if we wanted to meet in advance, what we wanted to do, and just chat. He's obviously so very, unbelievably passionate about what he does and he's so full of joy when you talk to him. I let him know that I'd text him when we landed on Sunday and give him the room information, and that we were good with just chatting with him quickly before the ceremony, no need for anything fancy. He did mention that we were his only wedding that day, so there was no need to worry about timing. Here's where I get really impressed. When we booked, we booked the "Gold Elvis" package that was 15 minutes before the ceremony to get to know us, a 15 minute ceremony, and 15 minutes after for photos and first dance. We figured that would be enough, because we're both atheist and we just wanted something that was fun. Rev. Roland came dressed as Elvis 45 minutes earlier than expected. He had a sound system with him, which he then promptly set up on the balcony at the Skyline Terrace suite and immediately began to start entertaining guests as they arrived. He did a couple of songs, took some photos, and just generally entertained everyone before the ceremony. At 6:30, he got my husband and asked him our story and signed some paperwork, came upstairs and asked me some questions and signed some paperwork with me, and gave a rundown of the ceremony. He was prepared to sing/perform all music for the ceremony, which I said it's OK, because we did have 2 songs already prepared for the start of the ceremony. That wasn't an issue, he was excited we'd chosen something in advance, and worked it in. He ushered everyone outside to start the ceremony, had an amazing little ceremony broken up with a couple of songs to make it fun (and jokes, too). When I started to cry during one of the songs, he stopped the song and sang a different one. Immediately after the ceremony, he did our first dance, and then let everyone know he was going to lead us in some photos but for everyone to just mingle and eat and enjoy themselves, which was awesome. He lead the poses, which was great because both myself and my photographer had no idea what to expect. All in all, I could not have been more thrilled with the experience we had with Rev. Roland. It's so very obvious why he's a favorite, and I cannot fathom why you would book with anyone else. Rev. Roland is so personable and it's so clearly obvious that he loves what he does that it almost seems silly to consider a different minister.

But when we got to Vegas, and the moment I stepped foot into the Renta-Dress and Tux Shop, I knew I had to have nothing less than Elvis. Worried that I'd missed the chance for the full Vegas wedding experience without an Elvis, dress shop owner Dianne Schiller gave us numbers to several Elvis ministers: It was pure luck and chance (maybe fate) that we were able to get Roland August booked in less than 24 hours before our wedding date, which was two days before Christmas! I am so grateful he did not have holiday plans! Roland proved to be the Elvis minister I'd always dreamed of: funny, spontaneous, professional, prompt, efficient, and even a celebrity! I now have our wedding video to watch over and over of our amazing Las Vegas Sign wedding, and hundreds of photographs that help me to remember how amazing that serendipitous day was for us.
