Dina's Deluxe Events (featured on the Knot and Wedding Wire too) recommends the Mountain Winery as a fabulous venue with beautiful trees, gardens and floor plans for your wedding or other celebration! 5 stars to this amazing venue with a beautiful view, romantic settings and wonderful staff! The staff is so helpful, professional and the beautiful venue is a great fit for premium and luxury events.
I am so glad my wife and I found the Mountain Winery for our May 2022 wedding. As we drove up the long and winding mountain road, after having toured a handful of other Northern California venues, we got chills and knew we found the one. Not only did it have the beautiful European vineyard style that my wife dreamed of since she was little, but it also had redwoods and captured the NorCal vibe we wanted to share with our out-of-town guests. Lastly, the staff was helpful and available, so thank you, Alice & Tiffany!
We got married at the Mountain Winery on the Winery Deck and held the reception in the Grand Hall for our brunch wedding. We could not have had a better team to work with than Ariel, Pete, and Kristina! They were flexible and helped us through the unknowns of our planning. They made recommendations for local vendors and designed a beautiful layout for the ceremony and reception. We and our guests were truly impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the quality of service. Jessica and April of Global Gourmet, the in-house catering team, were great to work with and the food was delicious!
My husband and I would not recommend getting married at Mountain Winery. Even though the view from the venue is beautiful, the management staff with the exception of our coordinator April were unfriendly and difficult to work with.
My husband and I got married in Mountain Winery on May 2017. After 9 months and many emails planning our wedding since we booked the venue in April 2016, there was a change in management at Mountain Winery. No efforts were made between outgoing or incoming management to communicate our wedding plans, so I had to repeat all of my previous emails and re-coordinate dozens of details. There was a completely new food menu that I was not aware of until I emailed the venue a couple months before the wedding to confirm our meal orders before ordering invitations with the selected meal options. Because there was a new food menu, during an in-person meeting I repeatedly asked if there was a new beverage menu. They had printed a beverage menu that I had emailed them from the prior management, and brought it to the meeting stating it was their current beverage menu. When I asked again, they looked and there was in fact a new beverage menu with prices that were $17/person cheaper than the menu I had sent them. Since we had a 120 person wedding, I would have paid $2040 more than if they would have given me the new beverage menu from the beginning. If you do plan a wedding here, be sure to advocate for yourself. The original tasting they offered was for a few appetizers and an entree that 1) wasn't on the wedding menu and 2) was not requested by my husband and me. After asking repeatedly that we get served actual entrees and appetizers from the wedding menu that we would consider serving our guests, they accommodated.
Our entire wedding was outdoors. The week before, it looked like it would get chilly at night to the 50s, so we asked if it would be possible to put up a tent on the Chateau Deck where the reception was. Mountain Winery said a tent was not feasible because, for one it cost $11,000, and secondly it has to be set up for two days, so the couple getting married the night before would have to agree to a tent as well. Our ceremony was on the Vista Deck, which does not have a rain plan. At all. I asked what would happen if it rained, and they said the wedding would just have to get rained on.
We got ready at the venue, which costs about $500 per room. They don't allow outside food, and there is a corkage fee. So my wedding party had to rely on a cheese plate the venue provided from 9am when we started getting ready until our 4pm wedding.
Lastly, several of our vendors communicated to us that they did not enjoy working at Mountain Winery because the staff were difficult to work with. The fact that professionals in the wedding industry who work at a lot of different venues also had the same feeling we did further validated our concerns. These mishaps contribute to the overall frustration my husband and I feel with this venue after having planned a wedding here, and why we would not recommend it to anyone else.
My daughter got married at the Winery Sep 26 and it was a truly lovely event!
We reserved the Vista Deck for the ceremony, the Chateau Deck for the reception, and the Redwood deck for cocktails. We had a morning wedding with an afternoon reception.
First of all, the setting is amazing. Our guests totally loved it. And the staff were really helpful and responsive, and executed very well on the day.
Liz Guthrie was our main contact. Right from the beginning, in Dec last year, Liz was amazingly responsive and was very quick to answer any questions or concerns I had, both before and after we signed the contract, even on her vacation days. She showed terrific attention to detail and followup. Another staff member was originally the day-of coordinator for our event, but when Lauren transferred, Liz filled that role as well to ensure continuity and no dropped balls.
Andrea de Leon was also great in her supporting role, and was also very responsive.
On the day, Liz did a great job ensuring everything was executed well, and Adel, the banquet manager, was meticulous about ensuring the floor plan and food service was executed exactly as planned, and that everything flowed smoothly. Everyone did their part with true professionalism.
All our guests were extremely complimentary about the lovely time they had, about the amazing view and setting (of course!), the delicious food and how smooth everything was.
Overall, it was a truly lovely and amazing day, and I would recommend the Winery to anyone. The only caution, which applies to any uncovered outdoor event, is that you are somewhat at the mercy of the weather, so make sure you ask for plenty of the Winery’s market umbrellas to be set out on the Chateau Deck to keep your guests out of the direct sun and comfortable (and pray it doesn’t rain).
Venue is gorgeous, very very gorgeous, which is the main reason we selected it. Our contact, Kendra, was super friendly, although she was not very timely with responses - overworked? Most of our guests were impressed with the food, the house wine, and the views.
It's a beautiful wedding, largely because of the venue and a sunny California day. We feel blessed. The staff are friendly, flexible and easy to work with. I like they are flexible and allowed us to pick up remaining stuff from the wedding the day after. They also have most equipment needed and feasible for both rain or shine. The food was fantastic. If one thing I hope it could have been better: I wish the wedding coordinator was more involved on the wedding day. She wasn't always around that day, while I thought she could be a almost real "coordinator". I should have appointed someone else.
I had my wedding at The Mountain Winery and it was beautiful. Alexa, the on site event coordinator, was great and easy to work with. My only complaint is that some times it take a bit of time to hear back for her (not to big of a deal). Otherwise everything was great. Easy to work with and the food is amazing. Amazing view and the venue is beautiful. All of my guest were amazed my the views and venue.
Dispite the rain on our wedding day Krystal, one of the coordinators went above and beyond to make our day special. She worked with our vendors to get everything moved inside. And during all this she comforted me while I was feeling down because of the rain. They were able to extend our wedding another hour and half past our time due to the delays and worked tirelessly to make my day perfect. Not only was the venu beautiful the food was amazing! Our guest are still raving about how good the food was and I couldn't agree more. The planning before our day was also seemless. Working will Lauren and Alexa was amazing. They really made my groom and I feel special. We hope to have an anniversary there (outside hopefully) in the future.
The Mountain Winery is an amazing place to have a wedding. We loved it! The only downside and reason I would not give it 5 stars is because of the customer service. The events coordinator was a disappointment. She would not follow through, we would constantly have to check in with her making sure things were getting done because we did not hear back from her, we were transfered to other people often. It just was not the greatest or what I had thought it would be. Other than that they were very flexible with locations, menu's, number of people, etc.
