The Neu Neu was a great venue for the mid-sized wedding we wanted. Yes, the name is a bit silly, but they were very communicative, and their great decor cut down on our personal furniture/floral/etc expenses considerably. It's the sort of venue that doesn't need much decor expense to look and feel awesome. We were a bit surprised that we weren't allowed downstairs until after noon, and the parking for vendors and guests was essentially nonexistent, but it was the perfect space for us. We loved having several different rooms where we could have multiple atmospheres: the main room for dancing, the Green room for chatting, and the outdoor patio for our drinks and food.
The Neu Neu was the perfect venue for our wedding! The team was VERY patient with our many questions and always answered those questions promptly :) Our guest list ended up being a little larger than we originally anticipated, but Kitty and team were there to help us figure out a layout that ended up working perfectly. We received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. Our bridal party also adored the Natural Light Studio & the 3rd St. Studio. Thank you Neu Neu team for all that you did to help make our day so fabulous!
We had our wedding at the Neu Neu and highly recommend the space. All of our guests were so complimentary of the venue and it fit our aesthetic perfectly. I also loved getting ready in the bridal suite and the lighting there is amazing for photos! Kitty and the rest of the team were great to work with, especially as we navigated changing our wedding date twice during COVID. Additionally, Abby was our day of coordinator for the event and she was incredibly helpful in finalizing last minute details. The entire staff was very thoughtful in helping us plan our big day!
My wife and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Neu Neu, and we were thrilled with how everything turned out! We were so appreciative of their guidance and flexibility, especially because our wedding day fell in June 2021 and none of us knew what the local safety guidelines would be by that time.
The space itself is beautiful and very functional; having the “green room” as a bar area and the upstairs bridal suite made for easy planning, and everything photographed very well. When we booked the venue we chose nearly all of our vendors through the Neu Neu’s recommendations, and we loved them all!
The Neu Neu is a beautiful, flexible space at a very reasonable price, and it’s in a great location (our guests especially appreciated the many restaurants and hotels within walking distance). We would strongly recommend it for anyone looking to host an event!
I cannot put into words what the Neu Neu and their team mean to us after our intimate wedding at their beautiful space. After our original venue closed, and then as our guest list shrunk to 28.. Kitty and the rest of the team showed up in every way to support us and make our dream day a reality. They were flexible, inventive, and just plain KIND as they planned with us. As a nurse who worked on a COVID ICU, I especially want to point out their adherence and dedication to safety during the pandemic. Yes, our guests had to wear masks and we had to get creative in seating arrangements BUT everyone (guests and other vendors) told me over and over how safe they felt in an uncertain time. I would recommend the Neu Neu a million times over and credit them to the huge success of our COVID wedding!
The Neu Neu was fantastic. The venue was extremely versatile, which worked great for our ceremony in the round. The room flip was seamless and the green room was really fun for cocktail hour. We had a seven-piece band and about 100 guests for a buffet dinner, and that fit the space just about right - could have maybe fit in a few more but not much. The bridal suite upstairs was perfect for getting ready during the day, and we kept it available for those who needed to get away from the action during the reception (kids, nursing, just need a moment!) and it was so nice to be able to do that. Though one word of caution - those are some steep steps in a wedding gown and heels! We also added parking options for the guests which was super convenient and we only paid for the spots used.
Kitty was quick to respond and very helpful, and communication was smooth even though I was planning from abroad, which gave me great peace of mind! Kitty and Rachel (our Maven Day-Of Coordinator) were really flexible and accommodating to make sure I could see the venue/meet when I was in town. Rachel's support was also one of the highlights - she was so wonderful to work with, helped me think through all the details I would have forgotten, and was so positive and on top of it! Our wedding day was really stress-free thanks to her.
The only negative things I could possibly say are that I wish they'd kept their old name (oh well), the floor is a little ugly (who cares), and they didn't post our wedding on Instagram, ha! (what can I say, we love the limelight!). All in all, though, The Neu Neu was amazing and we were so pleased with both the process and the results.
We had our ceremony & reception at the Neu Neu. All our guests kept commenting on how gorgeous it was! Pictures look absolutely stunning, I can't wait to get them all back from our photographer. A couple notes: they upcharge you for everything. Although this might be true with every venue, it added up costs very quickly (for lighting, use of space, decor, etc). Definitely worth it but just to know before booking with them. Their venue rental does include a day-of-coordinator and this was the best thing we spent our money on. Danielle with Maven Events was so professional, friendly, and kicked ASS keeping everyone on their game. Our day would not have turned out so perfectly without her, truly invaluable!
The bridal suite upstairs was beautiful and spacious for all of our stuff, and we got some good pictures in there. Would absolutely get divorced just to get married here again.
This venue is AMAZING! We had booked our wedding here when it was 514 Studios, then there were some renovations and a name change before our wedding - can you say upgrade??!! The bridal suite is phenomenal and a wonderful space to get ready in. My photographer was seriously geeking out about the natural light in that space and how beautiful the photos would be.
We worked with Shaley and Lauren from Maven for coordination the month leading up to and the day of the wedding. They were fantastic! I cannot day enough about how great it was to have them to take care of the little details so I didn’t have to worry about them. Overall the wedding was beautiful and everything I could’ve wanted - and The Neu Neu was the perfect location.
514 was the perfect space for our December 8th wedding. The reception area is a really cool “blank slate” that you can make whatever you want! They also provide a lot of useful help and support including vendor recommendations and Day of Coordination through MAVEN (which was absolutely essential)! The staff was professional, easy to work with, and responsive throughout the planning process. You can tell that they are experts in their field and have a lot of good relationships with vendors. We had 127 guests, and people raved about how the reception space seemed so intimate for the ceremony, yet large and open once it was flipped and made ready for dinner and dancing! It’s really a magical space. The “Green Room” was a perfect place for cocktail hour, with plenty of spaces for guests to sit or stand, as well as a beautiful plant wall we used as a photo backdrop. And the Bridal Suite was beautiful, large, and full of natural light, even on a cloudy December day! We highly recommend booking 514 for your wedding or other event! You won’t regret it.
I don't think we could have picked a better venue for our wedding. The staff were professional, helpful and courteous. The fact that we could bring in our own liquor was a BIG sell for us (it saved us tons of money), and the bridal suite upstairs was another major highlight of the day. Being able to show up that morning, get hair and makeup done on site, get dressed and then just walk downstairs for the wedding was exactly what we wanted, and that's exactly what we got.
We had two food trucks for dinner, and the outside cocktail space had more than enough space for both trucks and tables for people to stand at throughout the night. We even had space for our bags set as well.
Best. Venue. Ever.
Our experience with 514 Studios was nothing but positive! When we first met with Lindsey knew instantly that it was the place for us and the new owners have only made the venue better. It's a great place for any couple who wants to make the spot their own. Oh the BYOB is a lifesaver. Our guests loved it. The bridal suite is a dream! Katie and Alison were amazing. Highly recommend 514 :). - The Carbone's
Where do I even begin! 514 was the PERFECT place to get married. The space is beyond beautiful, the staff AMAZING and my family and friends are still talking about how awesome and unique the space was. From the moment I met Lindsey at 514, I knew I found the place my husband and I were meant to start our lives in. The brick walls are beautiful and the wood ceilings are stunning! All the lighting details you can add on to your package make the space all the more romantic and dreamy. And don't even get me started on the natural light studio! The upstairs space you can rent to get ready (or any photo shoot really) is nothing less than breath taking. We had our first look in the space and it was the most beautiful space for the most beautiful moment. I wish I could live in 514! Really loved every single detail about the space! Could not recommend 514 studios more!!!! Thank you you so much for hosting the most special people in my life for the best day of my life!
We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at 514 Studios. We loved the flexibility they offered so that we were able to have a food truck and my dog as our ring bearer. It was also nice to have an option to be both in and outside for the reception. The only problem was that they were not very helpful in figuring out how to effectively cool the venue when we learned it was going to be 95 degrees that day, which led to a bit of stress. Other than that everything was great!
We loved 514 Studios and had a wedding day that was everything we wished for and more. The space was gorgeous and all of the vendors we worked with were wonderful. Setting everything up with Lindsey was great and having an event coordinator from Maven was the icing on the cake. Everyone we worked with from Maven was incredibly helpful and made our day flow seamlessly. It's not worth subtracting a star, but another reviewer mentioned how nice it would be if there was an option to drop off items before the day of the wedding. We didn't have too many items of our own to manage, but those we did, I would have loved having the ability to leave at the venue the day before. That said, managing those logistics didn't take away from an absolutely fantastic experience with 514 Studios!
This is a great blank slate type of venue. We loved the more modern style of brick walls and wood beams, a real hidden gem. It was a great size for our guest count of 125. We loved that they provided a day of coordinator through Maven, Danielle was incredible and transformed the space for us. It was nice to be able to choose our own caterer from their preferred vendor list, bring in our own cake, and buy our own alcohol. My only complaint and the reason they're not a 5 for me, is that you can't drop off any of your decor or alcohol, etc until the day of your wedding, and not only that, until 12 noon on the day of your wedding. We got married at a church at 1pm, so this was a bit of a hoopla for us in finding friends who could handle this on the day of. It would be great if they had a locked closet they could have stored even some of our supplies in. Parking is also a bit tricky, but we had guests park at the Design Building which seemed to work out well. Otherwise, we LOVED this venue and the working with them was very easy. Thank you for making our wedding day special!
We had an amazing experience at 514 Studios for our 8/27/16 wedding! The venue captured everything we wanted- an indoor/outdoor space in the city that we were able to tailor to our own style without being insanely overpriced- a tall order, to be sure! We feel so fortunate to have found the PERFECT spot to capture what we wanted for our special day. The greenroom was a great location for everyone to lounge before the ceremony, but also provided a little escape for the families/wedding party throughout the evening. The 514 Studios staff was helpful throughout the process and did everything they could to make our event exactly what we wanted. The only caution we have is to be aware of the air conditioning situation for hot summer months. We didn't realize there wasn't AC available, but lucked out that it wasn't terribly hot on our wedding day. Not sure if that has changed since our event, but something to inquire about.
My husband Jonah and I were married at 514 Studios on 10/15/16. It was the greatest day of our lives. We knew from the first time we went to 514 Studios that it was the perfect place for us. We were well taken care of by Allison and by Maven(Coordinator). They helped to make sure that our wedding represented who we were as a couple. We were so happy with the location of the venue--pictures in the North Loop were amazing!!! The customer service was top notch. The venue itself was amazing as well with exposed brick and wood beams. We loved how we could customize the space with lighting and decor. We also loved that the chairs were part of the wedding package.
This venue perfectly fit us as a couple and we wouldn't have done it any other way looking back on it. It was the perfect place to start our lives together.
514 was a fantastic place to hold our wedding on 10.22.16. We wanted a space that we could put our own spin on, and it was perfect for that. We loved the flexibility to use our own vendors and bring in our own liquor. They also even have their own sound system, so we didn't have to pay extra to have two cordless mics and plenty of volume for our dance (we made a music playlist and played it from Spotify on their iPad).
The weather was warmer than we'd imagined at the end of October, so it was really nice to be able to open the large garage door and let the cooler air in once the reception started.
Alison is so, so, so fast at responding to emails while you're planning, and she's really helpful with any questions. I loved working with her.
As for the wedding planners you get with MAVEN, they were nice to work with, too. We didn't use them too much, just for some coordinating the last week before the wedding date. But Hailey was really great in helping us set up the afternoon of the wedding, and was helpful was the day went on as well.
Thank you for everything, 514 Studios!
514 Studios was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception. The space is absolutely beautiful and unique. We hardly used any decorations and used the space 'as is' since it is so beautiful. The back room was perfect for getting ready the day of and relaxing throughout the day and evening. We loved the outdoor area and being able to incorporate the outside patio area with the inside dance floor. No matter where guests were they were a part of the party! The staff at 514 was sophisticated and courteous. From day one they were helpful and perfect with communication throughout the entire process. They are very kind and obviously passionate about their space and excited to share it with couples for such a special occasion! They helped me from my questions big and small which made my life easy throughout the planning process. Just real nice people here at 514! The stylists they have through Maven are extremely talented. My wedding day coordinator was my life saver! She handled so much of the planning and day of activities perfectly so that we could focus on celebrating. Very organized and know what they are doing. I would seriously consider any suggestions they have for the wedding day - they are the experts! I would recommend 514 Studios for your wedding day or any special occasion. Small and intimate but also unique and beautiful with fabulous staff that care about YOU. Thank you 514!!
This venue was perfect for me and my partner in every way. The location was great, the staff was extremely friendly and wonderful to communicate with, the vibe of the venue was neat and we couldn't have picked a better place. We highly, highly recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic staff, amazing venue, they made our day all we hoped for and more!!
I simply cannot say enough about Alison and the gang at 514 Studios. The space itself was exactly what we were looking for - spaces indoors and out with an industrial feel. 514 was also perfectly located for our guests - as both of us had family and friends come in from out of town. The Marriott within a 2 blocks allowed people to walk on over and have a great time. No hiring extra shuttles or buses or having anyone negotiate traffic. From the moment we toured, Alison was nothing short of completely accommodating. I always received a response back within the day - if not the hour. She helped us find our amazing caterer (Green Mangos) and our lighting guy (Phos), AND we were able to bring in our own alcohol, which saved us so much money. Our day-of coordinator through Maeven, Bre, made our day go off without a hitch. Working with 514 was amazing and they helped make our day incredibly special and stress-free.
514 Studios is a super cool venue and easy to work with. I had a wonderful experience! Having the indoor/outdoor option is awesome, our event coordinator was fantastic, and getting to bring in your own alcohol helps a lot with the budget. 100% recommend.
514 Studios was marvelous to work with, Alison and Maven (Bre) were so helpful and knowledgeable! They listened to my ideas and offered me excellent suggestions! I wanted a venue that I could use the catering of my choosing and this is an option at 514. Also, the venue is very reasonably priced! My guests loved that the ceremony and reception were held in the same location. I would highly 514 Studios for any occasion!!! ❤️❤️❤️
My daughter wanted to use 514 Studios because it was an open urban rustic venue with few restrictions. It has an open space with a cool red brick backdrop on one wall. It also has an overhead garage door that opens up into a parking area that is included in the rental - we used this for outside bar and appetizers while the on-site day-of coordinator and her team flipped the room between ceremony and reception. I was worried it would be tight for 160 guests but it worked out great. The venue provided a day-of coordinator and her team at no extra charge - they were awesome! The best part was that they did all the take down at midnight and delivered everything to the bride's home. We were exhausted and able to just go home. We were also able to rent space in the adjacent coffee shop for those who wanted to talk after the dancing started. It was all very smooth and a great value. We would highly recommend 514 Studios for your flexible venue needs.
We loved working with the team at 514 Studios. We were looking for a space that allowed us a ton of flexibility in terms of food, drink, & decor & 514 fit the bill--it's a blank canvass!
Alison is great to communicate with & genuinely kind.
Guests loved the space--it was the perfect size for our 150 person reception, & we took advantage of the outdoor parking lot area & the ability to book Corner Coffee as a quieter nook for guests.
Engaged couples looking for a middle $$ range venue with a DIY vibe should check out 514 Studios!
I had my wedding here on August 29th and the staff was amazing and everything went so smoothly! We got the Rusty Taco truck to pull up in the back and everyone said it was a truly unique wedding experience!
We loved having our wedding reception at 514 Studios!! It was an incredible space. We brought in Gastrotruck, Rustica Bakery cookies, and high end liquor for 175 people. Good food with a laid back vibe was a must for us and we could have all that and more with 514.
Couldn't be any happier with our choice to use 514. This place allows for full customization of your wedding to make it your own. Chelsey, the 514 event coordinator, is incredible and was amazing to work with. She and her crew are the reason my wedding was so successful. Everyone at 514 is extremely professional and very flexible when it comes to customizing pieces of your wedding. The amount of services included in the wedding package makes this place a no brainier when searching for wedding venues. They are the best in the Twin Cities.
Words cannot begin to describe how amazing 514 Studios was to work with. It was the perfect place to hold our wedding reception. If you are looking for a modern, unique, and special place to hold your wedding reception look no further. Our guests could not stop raving about how cool, interesting, and perfect our venue was. The industrious feel coupled with the relaxed atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for to hold a great party. The staff at 514 were professional, courteous, and extremely easy to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and responded in a timely fashion. They provided some great recommendation on other vendors as well that fit perfectly within our theme of modern classic glam. We couldn't be more happy with our experience with 514 Studios and if we had to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing. In fact, we are looking for more reasons to rent out the warehouse again down the road.
My fiancé and I are both from Minneapolis so we have seen our fair share of wedding venues prior to looking for one for our own wedding. When we came across 514 Studios and saw the space we knew it was perfect!
First of all the staff is phenomenal to work with and Chelsey the wedding coordinator is a dream come true! They ensured everything about the day was perfect! Second the space has the rustic feel with the modern convenience and has a great outdoor space! Even our caterer raved about the great prep space in the back!!
I honestly recommend anyone looking for a wedding venue to check out 514 Studios...I couldn't have imagined my wedding being any more wonderful and stress free than it was and it was certainly due in part to them!!
We went with a Friday wedding because as with any venue, the cost was much less. Though it was still over what we meant to spend on a venue, we were able to save in other areas since they didn't have any preferred vendors. The space was perfect for both our ceremony and reception, easily fit our 150 guests, and required minimal decor. The staff was so friendly, patient and helpful as we sent our many questions. They had a manager on duty during the day/night that helped with some technical issues on our lighting. It was great that our food truck caterer and rental company had both worked with 514 before so they were all able to coordinate space planning without much effort on my end. The only thing is maybe that we sometimes had to follow up on emails, but I did send a lot of emails! We also went back and forth on whether or not to pay for our guests' parking, since it's right downtown and pretty expensive. We opted not to, since we weren't making guests drive to a second reception location, and 514 Studios is actually super close to the light rail, and recommended on our invites that guests take public transit. There was a ramp close by if they didn't. We received so many compliments on the setting of our wedding, and I'd certainly recommend 514 Studios!
If you are like me and want something different, something unique, something affordable and something customizable to exactly what I want......run, don't walk to 514 Studios!
We just had our wedding last weekend and the group there helped make it perfect! We chose the space first and foremost for location and affordability. You are in downtown Minneapolis in the super hot North Loop neighborhood and you can afford it, all the while choosing how you want the space to look because it is a blank slate!
One of the biggest draws for us too is that you do not have to choose a certain vendor or have minimums to meet. You get to choose the caterer you want, the bartender you want, the DJ you want.
Seriously, I wouldn't have wanted my big day any where else.
514 Studios website states that as a customer of their venue, "you are given as much or as little as you need to create the perfect event," and I couldn't have said it better myself. As a seasoned event coordinator and now Bride, nothing says, "as little as you need," than a vendor who doesn't respond to communication - at all.
Their location and flexibility of being able to choose our own vendors was what originally drove our interest in 514, however before setting up a tour I inquired via email as the pricing on their website listed two different fees for a Saturday rental.
My e-mail to them on 8/8 was as follows:
"Good afternoon,
My fiancé and I are in the early stages of selecting a venue for our wedding in 2015 (date is very flexible, but will be on a Saturday) and we may be interested in your space, however need some further clarification on pricing.
On your website under the “Rates” page, it lists Saturday event rental at $4,500/day, but when you go to the "FAQS" page it lists Saturday rental at $3,250. Are the prices different based on event/hours, or is this a typo?
Thank you!"
As quickly as the pricing error was fixed on their site, you'd think I would have already signed a contract with them - however they have yet to respond to my initial request. possibly to ashamed to own up to their $1,250 typo?
With 7+ years experience dealing with venues and events ranging from 50 to 1,500+ (and budgets from only hundreds to hundreds of thousands) I find it extremely unprofessional coming from a company that claims they are, “thrilled to help!”
The room was cool and worked for our purposes. The bathrooms were not clean when we arrived and had to be cleaned. There are only two single room bathrooms down the hall. (just an fyi) Parking is not easy.
We were planning our wedding from out of the country and it was hard to picture everything. My brother, partner and some friends went a week or two before I was in town and they were not really assisted in the walk through or given much info or help.
Additionally, I specifically asked about the sound and audio/video and was told they could accommodate my slideshow on my Mac powerbook. On the morning of my wedding, they said that I would have to use APPLE TV which I did not have the software for because their cable was not working properly. I downloaded the software and my computer crashed and I lost my slideshow that I had worked hours and hours on. My friend, who is an IT guy, worked to salvage what he could. The person on duty did not seem to care.
Also, they cashed my damage deposit without a phone call or e-mail to say why. I had to reach out to contact them. They proceeded to explain that the confetti that we used created such a mess that their cleaning crew had to work extra hours ($150) and that one of their tables was stained from the confetti and that they could not fix it were throwing it away ($500.) So, I asked to have the table that they were going to throw away. My friends went with a truck to pick it up since I had already left Minnesota. It is now at my brother's house and they can sand & refinish the top for less than $50 in supplies. (Maybe $100-200 labor?) It seems that they may have just wanted a new table...
They were fine, and may have worked better if I lived in town, but if you can pick a more full-service venue, you will have less stress.
I thought 514 Studios was a great space and great to work with, too! It is located in a beautiful old warehouse building in the North Loop area of Minneapolis, and has a beautiful open ceiling with wooden rafters, and a garage door that opens up to the back outdoor parking space. We had a food truck out back, along with a rental tent. This made for a great hang-out space for our guests outside. Across from the 514 Studios space entry (in the same warehouse) is the Corner Coffee Shop, which we rented out for five hours as a more quiet space for people to visit (especially during the band's entertainment). In the lobby between 514 and the Corner Coffee Shop, we had a vintage photo booth set up, which was a lot of fun for our guests and gave guests extra space to enjoy--514 Studios, Corner Coffee Shop, the lobby, and the outdoor area.
I loved our venue! This warehouse was great for our wedding of about 120 guests. We wanted a semi-casual wedding with a modern feel and this place was perfect! Larry and Conor were amazing to work with and helped make sure the day went smoothly! If you are looking for a cool, DIY, open warehouse for a modern wedding, this is your venue!
All I can say is IT WAS PERFECT!
