THE OAKS AT OAK PLANTATION

WOW! We just had a wedding here at The Oaks and it was truly a magical experience. The day was perfect and it was an easy process from touring, to signing, to the day of! I do recommend to brides to read their contract because it is A LOT of information, however I just followed the rules and guidelines and my day was executed perfectly. My husband & I did decide to get married inside because the ballroom is timeless, and it was an easy transition with the help of my planner and The Oaks staff helping from ceremony to reception. Highly recommend this venue

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE! I booked this venue for my wedding which took place on 10/10/2021; Beautiful beyond measure and reasonably priced... but if it's too good to be true than it probably is. Darlene the owner was extremely nice and easy to work with until she received my money! Initially she informed me and my husband we could use our own vendors including Bar tender and Caterer as long as the vendors had the proper licensing (which they did) We specifically asked about security requirements as my husband has his own security company, she informed us that they did not require we have security (nothing in the contract stated anything about security). I sat down with her in her office to discuss questions I had within the contract regarding the bar tending service as well as the requirements in receiving our deposit back (500.00) Darlene said verbatim "Oh honey we don't go by that you can use any bar tender you like as long as it’s an actual bartending service, and just be sure the venue is in the shape you found it and take all of your belongings at the end of the night to receive your deposit) I trusted what she told me as I went against my better judgement. My husband paid Darlene a total of 8K! 5 days before the wedding her daughter in law Angelica called stating we were required to have wedding insurance which would cost us 250.00 for a 1M policy as they cannot control our guest and want to ensure their venue is protected... okay not an additional expense I wanted to pay but understandable; then she informs me we are required to have 2 police officers for security which totaled 800.00; I was upset this an additional 1k we have to come up with 5 days before our weeding! Darlene, my husband, and I had a verbal conversation that this was not required. When I reminded her of the conversation, she talked to me as if I was a child and stated she never said that which was a lie. She was extremely loud and rude she then went back on what she said regarding the bartender, and we had to jump through hoops to use the bartending service we already hired and paid in full because it wasn't what was listed in the contract. I was livid! She was rude to my husband and my wedding coordinator speaking to them both as if they were children. This woman refused to give us our deposit as she stated we violated the contract which is total B.S, she then stated our vendor left drapes (Darlene's husband told the vendor they could come and pick the drapes up the next morning as it would be Monday and they did not have an event) the vendor came to the venue at 7AM to retrieve the drapes and Darlene is using any excuse not to give us back our deposit. I hate I chose this place and would not recommend anyone pay their hard-earned money to be belittled, lied to, and treated so poorly!

I wanted to take the time and share my personal experience with The Oaks at Oak Plantation. From beginning to end, it was the best, easiest and non-stressful experience out of the whole planning. The owners and employees had directed and guided me in the best way possible.. the ballroom is just breathtaking in general! Literally the best day of my life!

The venue is beautiful, but the owner/manager is awful. She manhandled a waitress, and rummaged through our purses that were in the bridal suite. Was very tacky yelling about the $200,000 floors, yet the bathrooms weren’t taken care of. The trash was always overflowing and low on toilet paper.

As soon as we stepped into this venue, we knew it was the place for us! Everything was gorgeous. Honestly, the pictures can’t even start so do it justice. Darlene and her husband are super kind people. They were wonderful and easy to work with. They truly helped our day turn out wonderful and we are very appreciative. Our friends couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the venue was so I definitely would recommend to any bride!

Love love love this place. From the minute I toured I was in love. Being a COVID bride it was stressful, but Darlene helped relieve all the stress. She was there every step of the way to answer ANY and EVERY question I had, which were many. Honestly can’t say enough good things about this venue. My guests raved & we had such a good time.

The place is gorgeous, has a lot of amenities to offer!

Our wedding was February 13, 2021. Words don’t do justice for how beautiful this place is. Darlene, the owner, is so great and helpful. From the planning process, to the day of the wedding, she was there ready to help. Our ceremony was supposed to be outside but then the cold hit and last minute she set up the inside for our ceremony and it was everything we could have imagined and more. You will not be disappointed with this place!

I was the MOH of my best friends wedding and fell in love with this venue! The owners were very generous and would allow us to come by as many times as we would like to do measurements, tour the grounds & answer all the questions— which worked best. The day of wedding was absolutely perfect. There are massage chairs for the ladies in the bridal suite which everyone enjoyed, along with the perfect glam mirrors. We all felt very comfortable and definitely not crammed!! Despise the DJ messing up a few times, it was definitely a magical night. My parents rented a room, yes there are rooms with SHOWERS on site- which is super convenient, and had let all the girls have a sleep over. After everything was over, the owners were still there helping out which was definitely a sight that you don’t see often. For a venue being over an hour away from our house, this was definitely a perfect fit and we’re very pleased with all the vendors!

The venue is simply gorgeous. For that, I am grateful, because I will have beautiful photos and my guests were overall impressed. However, my wedding day was far from perfect. Upon arrival, there were numerous cigarette butts, empty beer bottles, and dirty napkins outside from the night before. Only SOME of the empty bottles were cleaned up before my wedding guests arrived. We created a seating chart online, and the ballroom setup did not match what I chose. They instead had out tables that I did not choose as well as a giant Christmas tree. A Christmas tree was not part of my wedding decor, so we asked for it to be removed. The owner refused. Note: we saw the tree when we first toured the venue and were told specifically that it was optional. We have been in there plenty of times before and there was no tree, so I know it is removable. The day of my wedding was very windy, which caused the electricity to go out. While this is obviously no fault of theirs, no solutions were offered other than just waiting for the power company. For an event venue, it seems awfully irresponsible not to have some sort of backup power supply/generators/etc. Numerous people, including our families and wedding coordinator, suggested that someone could quickly go purchase generators rather than just sit around and wait. The owner refused to do anything to remedy the situation besides wait for repair. During much of the time that the power was out, my coordinator was not even able to contact the owner. She was nowhere to be found and not answering any phone calls from my coordinator. My ceremony, an hour late at this point, happened in the dark with only candlelight as a light source. Three hours later, electricity was restored. The venue owner offered to let us extend our event time at no extra cost to us. This seemed like a decent offer, then we later found out that we were being charged for extra hours of security. According to security, they were told that they would be paid from 2p-9:30. The owner had previously told us that we would be charged starting at 4:00p. I understand that the day was stressful for everyone, but all of the issues were too much to overlook. They seem incredibly understaffed, and that causes issues to fall back on the client, who has already paid thousands of dollars for a wonderful day. If the business were perhaps more organized, this COULD be a wonderful venue.

I can't even begin to express how gorgeous this venue is. the owners are amazing and part of the reason I booked with them. I'm actually sad that the wedding is over and I don't get to see Darlene anymore. This is a must to look at and consider for your wedding.

Let’s just say the pictures do NOT do it justice. This venue is absolutely amazing. I coordinated a wedding here last weekend and I can’t wait fully plan a wedding here. Darlene was an absolute doll to work with. She was there every step of the way. They thought about every detail when building the venue and the icing on the cake are the rooms you can rent out. The honeymoon is perfect! I think their bridal and grooms suites are one of the best I’ve seen so far and I’ve been in the wedding business for 10 years . From the fireplace to the staircase ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t wait to go back.

Darlene and her family were accommodating to anything we needed! They were absolutely amazing!! We kept hearing all night how beautiful the venue was! I would recommend this venue to any and everyone!

I had my wedding here a few weeks ago, and it was amazing! I am not a decoration person, so I was a little worried about what to do before I found this place. Then when I walked in, and I was amazed by all the beautiful chandeliers and dark wood. The outside has a gorgeous oak tree that all my guests were complimenting. It made for a nice backdrop for the ceremony. The venue is beautiful by itself and doesn't need anything to dress it up. This is a family business, and it shows. The owners were so personable and down to earth. They were willing to help with anything on the day of. Other positives: the biggest bride/groom suites, gorgeous outside and inside (in case of rain), astro-turf outside so that your heels don't sink in/ no mud from a previous rain, paved aisle so its easy to walk down and easy to roll a wheelchair or walker down for grandparents, small area of paved parking for elderly, and cute cocktail area.

Can not say enough wonderful things about this venue. Immediate family member got married, the venue is absolutely beautiful (indoor and outdoor areas). Bride/Bridesmaid area is adorable, plenty of space with everything you could need. Groom/Groomsmen area is also big with many different fun activities for the guys. We stayed the night and the rooms are large and very nice with comfy bed and linens. Owner is very kind and easily reachable. I highly recommend!

First, it goes without saying that this venue is stunning. The outdoor ceremony space was perfect, the bridal suite was a dream, and I’m sure the groomsman enjoyed the groom’s suite as well. We first visited the property May 2019 when they still had a few building items to complete nonetheless my husband and I, as well as our parents, were sold. Darlene, Angelica, and Casey were easy to work with, always pleasant and accommodating. Months after booking I saw the negative review that they had from their first wedding however I will say that I think they may have taken that as a lesson learned. We did not experience any issues on the day of the wedding; honestly they checked in on us multiple times and if we needed anything they were quick to provide. We had about 300 guests and they were wowed by this venue. I would choose this venue again in a heartbeat. I hear they are working on a chapel so that would be a great alternative to the outdoor space.

I signed with this venue last year before it was even near finish. I put a lot of faith into them for my wedding and I don't regret it at all. It is absolutely beautiful! The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. The bridal suite made me feel extremely comfortable and safe, it had so much room, and massage chairs. I cried the first time I walked into the venue when they were still building the staircase it was so beautiful and cried again on my wedding day because it was even more beautiful. one of the best part is that they had rooms to rent out for the night of the wedding. My family was able to enjoy themselves and safely rest at the end of the night. I love this venue and the people that run it.

We booked my daughter's wedding last February 2019 after meeting Darlene at the Bridal Extravaganza. The venue was not finished, and it was still more beautiful than most we had toured. My daughter teared up the moment she walked into the ballroom. There were a few kinks in the beginning because of the newness, but Darlene, the owner, was OUTSTANDING!! She went above and beyond to make sure the bride, the groom, the guests, and the families had everything they needed. The bridal suite felt like a fun girls weekend and made a wonderful backdrop for photos. The groom's suite kept all the boys busy and provided a safe place to hide the groom during pictures before the ceremony. We chose to stay at the venue after the wedding, and I am so glad we did. The rooms are top quality and spacious. I only wish I had rented them all for all our wedding party! I highly recommend this Venue! Darlene and her husband put their heart and soul into building this beautiful space. They were wonderful hosts!

From the moment we toured this venue we knew it was perfect for us. This venue is breathtakingly beautiful and so spacious! We had over 300 guests and had plenty of room for the grand march and all! The bridal suite was perfect and we never felt squished or like we needed more room, same with the grooms quarters. Everyone at the venue was very accommodating and helped us so much with everything. If we could do it all over again we would!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at this venue. The owners and staff were so kind and amazing and really worked hard to make sure our day was perfect. Due to the weather, we weren’t able to have our ceremony outside so everyone worked especially hard to make sure the inside area was perfect for our ceremony. This venue is absolutely beautiful and the bridal suite and grooms quarter are so spacious and luxurious. We were incredibly lucky to be able to book this venue!

My wedding here was nothing short of amazing! The owners Doyle and Darlene were such personable and caring people. They helped with my vision of a perfect wedding by having a breathtaking venue. Our vendors were even complimenting how gorgeous the venue was and how they literally thought of everything! The bridal suite was by far the biggest layout among all other venues we looked at! And not to mention the massage chairs that were in there that helped me ease my nerves. The groomsmens quarters were astonishing to the point where I thought I wasn't going to have a groom because he was having too much fun up in the suite with all the games! I truly had the best day of my life here and this venue is the perfect little gem. (Not little, because it accommodated my 250+ guests perfectly)

This past weekend was our daughter's wedding and this magnificent venue made all of her wishes for a dream wedding come true! Every aspect of this venue made for an enchanting day! Every guest that was present commented on how majestic the venue was and how it made her wedding a very magical evening! The owners were so caring and helpful during every step of the preparation. It is extremely evident that their heart is invested in making their guests' experience their "Best Day of their Lives"!

We had our wedding reception at The Oaks and Oak Plantation last week. The venue is already beautiful on its own but decorating it more made it more gorgeous. It was perfect for our rustic-elegance theme wedding. Both the cocktail and ballroom area were really beautiful and the amenities they have were really nice. Our guests loved our venue as much as we do and were complimenting how beautiful it was. Every detail of this venue was well thought of. Communications with them (from the owner Darlene McConathy to Angelica (previous venue manager) and Dallas, venue manager) were also easy from the time we first visited the venue till after our wedding. They were very responsive to any questions, concerns and requests we had. They treated us kindly and we felt they truly care for us and we’re “not just another customer“. They care for us to have a memorable and perfect wedding that we want. Darlene is so easy to talk to and she granted a lot of our requests for our wedding. The owners Darlene and Doyle were so sweet and we have nothing but respect for them. They were there before, the day and after the wedding, personally assisting us and our vendors making sure we have everything we needed and everything is going well. We saw how they personally take care of their venue. It shows how they love their place. We are lucky to find this venue. We took a chance when we first saw it and believe that it will be beautiful as what we’re told it would be and it is. One of the best decision we made on our wedding.

We had our wedding at The Oaks at Oak Plantation in early November. I don't think I can say enough good things about this venue and its owners. We had beautiful weather and were able to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors. The grounds were so beautiful. We had our reception inside and it looked magnificent. This venue is the prefect rustic/plantation style venue with touches of glam. Pictures don't do this place justice, you just have to see it in person to get the full "wow" factor. The place is huge- which makes it so perfect for weddings. We have 200 guests and had so much room to space out all of our tables, have a good sized dance floor and have room for our entertainment as well. As for the owners, I cannot thank you two enough for everything that you have done for us in preparation for our big day. Everything was absolutely perfect. Not a single thing went wrong. Thank you for going above and beyond in helping us set up and tear down our decor. Thank you for allowing us to rent all of the items that we did from you. That was one of the best nights of my life. Thank y'all for being apart of it and for being so attentive to anything and everything that we needed along the way. I wish I could do it all again for our future anniversaries.

We hosted my daughter’s wedding at The Oaks at Oak Plantation on 9/7/19. Everything was perfect and Darlene and Doyle were awesome. The venue is beautiful and it was the perfect place for the wedding. So thankful that we decided to book this venue for her special day.

The Oaks at Oak Plantation is First Class all the way!! The venue is Absolutely Beautiful. The owners are Amazing. From original booking to Wedding to the last detail. They were so helpful, had great ideas and made sure every detail was perfect for our daughter and new son-in-law’s dream wedding. I couldn’t imagine having such a Beautiful celebration anywhere else. Beautiful Bridal suite area for the girls to get ready and pampered. Perfect Groom suite area for the guys to relax, play some games and get ready for the big day. We just hosted my son’s wedding at The Oaks at Oak Plantation, and I cannot say enough about this venue. It is not only stunning, but the owners are amazing. They were so helpful and kind. The venue itself has every amenity you can imagine, and some you haven’t even thought of. The day was perfect.

The venue is a beautiful and rustic space with the grandeur of a beautiful wedding venue. Both outdoor and indoor areas are well lit and provide amenities that make hosting a wedding much easier. The on-site lodge rooms are also a great touch! My fiancé and I can’t wait to host our wedding here early next year! The staff is very helpful and attentive to your needs! Give this place a look if you’re in the market for an event space!

We hosted my baby shower at the Oaks and it was an absolute dream! The venue is so beautiful and you can tell they paid attention to every little detail. My family and I had such a great time. Darlene was incredibly kind and accommodating. She made everything so easy! We will definitely use The Oaks at Oak Plantation for any events we have in the future! Highly recommend them!

I attended the Richard Foreman for Sheriff campaign fundraiser on May the ninth, 2019. The entire venue was absolutely amazing! The ballroom was not only spacious in spite of a massive crowd, but also beautiful with its stone and wood decor. The kitchen is a massive, professional chefs kitchen supervised with three food service managers. Wow! The grounds are so pretty with the nicely designed walkways, a fountain area with stone capped seating, a beautiful ceremony area surrounded with massive oak trees and an amazingly large cocktail hour outdoor area! The owners of the venue and the Foreman staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to help in any way! I look forward to attending and perhaps hosting future events at this amazing venue!

Gorgeous venue with lots of attention to detail!

They did a great job on the main aspects of the venue. Unfortunately, all of the great things got over shadowed. When we booked this venue, it was not complete. The venue manager, Angelica, assured us it would be finished in time for our event, the first wedding. (vow renewal for us) During a meeting, two months out from the event, I was told the outside might not be done because of all the rain. The venue manager said it had been raining there since July. When we booked, end of Oct/early Nov. there was no mention of previous summer rain holding up the schedule. We did have a rainy winter however. Inside was not complete either but their concern was the outside. They offered us our money back. I explained that canceling was not feasible by any means. Flights had been booked, vacation days taken, invites printed and ready to going out, vendors booked and A LOT of money to be lost. We could not cancel, so I said we had to move forward. Something the venue owner, Darlene, could not understand was that wedding day was not supposed to be a work day. The venue should have been ready to go for the contracted time frame, 8 a.m. – 12 a.m. When I arrived at the venue at 8:45a.m., it still looked like a full blown work site. Parking lot was a wreck, gravel stacks everywhere, tractors everywhere, main fountain not hooked up, lights not hung, catering driveway not flattened, front drive around gravel still in piles & not ready to drive on, mud all over walkways on the outside space in the back, arcade system inside being worked on, and dirty floors inside and that was because the outside was not complete, so of course peoples feet were tracking it in. I let the planner & the venue manager know how unhappy and stressed out I was. They said, “It’s going to be done in time.” You could feel the stress and tension when you walked through the door. Have you ever shown up to a place and felt like you were imposing and not wanted? That’s how the owner made us feel the whole day. It felt like she was watching over us and just waiting for us to do something wrong. Clearly she was stressed trying to get everything done, they didn’t have a staff just a few family & friends. She was mad we were in the kitchen. I asked twice that day about being in there and having stuff in the fridge. I was told as long as it was out by 8 a.m. the next morning. I even stood in front of the fridge with the venue manager and asked if we needed to take the stuff in the fridge out & she said no, as long as its out by 8 a.m. I went back after the fact and looked at contract and it was worded in a way that was very gray. I took it as we could not go in there and personally use the kitchen for example, to cook breakfast for myself & bridal party but if it was event related we could be in there. I did not have the contract in my hand on the day of, which is why I asked the venue manager. Owner was also mad the person doing flowers was in the kitchen filling up the vases and working with the flowers. When we met with the venue manager after our event I asked her, “If you didn’t want her in there why didn’t anyone say anything?

This Is THE PLACE to have a Texas wedding!! A beautiful venue set amongst magnificent century old oak trees. It is perfect for either a highly formal or rustic themed wedding and anything in between. Indoor as well as outdoor weddings are easily accommodated here. Every detail and amenity is present in one location. The rooms for the entire bridal party lack nothing. Spacious room with makeup and hair stations allow professionals maximum working areas. The groom and his groomsmen also an unbelievable ‘man’s room’ to suit up. No cramping anyone’s style here as you prepare for you big day! You will think you are at famous five star hotel in Las Vegas without the expense of traveling. This venue is practically in your backyard, which allows all of your friends and family to be present. Easy access from many surrounding areas of the Houston metroplex. The “Grand Room” is not only grand in size, it also has an ambience of elegance, which can accommodate a wide spectrum of decor. A magnificent staircase is balanced on the opposite end of the Grand Room by a wood burning fireplace one would only find in Texas! Commercial size kitchen on site your caterer will appreciate. This is most definitely a brilliant ‘diamond in the rough’ venue that will not break the bank! Additionally, hotel style rooms are available for overnight stays, as well as the entire honeymoon. One would be hard pressed to find a venue such as THE OAKS AT OAK PLANTATION.

Words can't describe on how anxious I am to get married here! The venue is GORGEOUS & pictures don't do justice. The venue manager will welcome you with warm hugs and will give you a very detailed tour- we were sold half way through the tour. This venue is a game changer!
