The Old Post Office

The Old Post Office was a STUNNING venue for our wedding! We had about 110 guests. We did everything onsite which made the day super easy and streamlined. I got ready with my wedding party in the Vault, which had gorgeous natural light for the hair/makeup team, and looked incredible for photos. We had our ceremony in the historic lobby, cocktail hour on the roof (North Meadow), reception in the historic lobby, and an afterparty in the Telegram Lounge. The Telegram Lounge was the rain plan for cocktail hour, and we loved the space so much that we added it on for the after party! It was so fun to have the games at the end of the night and to keep our wedding going without the lull of transporting everyone to a bar somewhere else. We took all our photos at TOPO which worked out perfectly - there were so many great locations for pictures and we didn't have the stress of traveling between locations. The team was fantastic from our first meeting up through the end of our night. Mia especially was so wonderful to work with and helped us with SO much. Security was great to have to direct guests from each location within the space. And everyone on TOPO’s team worked very well with our full vendor team. Our guests were so impressed with everything. We didn't really need to get any decor because the space is so beautiful on its own. The venue does charge commission (18% I believe) for certain vendors, which increased our costs by a significant amount. They do have a list of preferred vendors with a lower commission (11% I believe) and we did use some of their recommendations. But we have no regrets about having our wedding at The Old Post Office - it was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we wanted for our wedding venue. Highly recommend them!! (Also the roof and lobby were used for the first scene of The Dark Knight and this was a GREAT conversation tidbit with guests !)

The Old Post Office was the perfect all-in-one wedding venue. Our ceremony and reception were in the Penthouse, the cocktail hour was at the Meadow, and we also used the Vault for the wedding party. The Penthouse had the casual, yet elegant, style that we were looking for, and the Meadow offered amazing views of Downtown Chicago. The cocktail hour would have been in the Telegram Lounge if it was raining, which is an amazing backup option. The venue has so many locations that we did all of our first look and family portraits on location, mainly in the Lobby and the Meadow. We are so glad that we chose the Old Post Office for our wedding!
