The Olmsted is a historic reception venue in Louisville, KY, originally built between 1925-27, across 80 acres of beautiful landscape. I can’t say enough amazing things about the Olmsted. Claire worked with me from day one (we booked 16 months in advance) and answered any questions I had quickly and throughly. I felt like everything was addressed well in advance and was properly communicated to the team on our big day. We chose a plated meal and they came out quickly and were all hot. The food was delicious and the bartenders accommodated signature drinks, which I loved! The space is beautiful and the team does an amazing job assisting throughout the day/night. Choosing the Olmsted as our venue was the best decision we could have made and I’m so grateful they gave me the day of my dreams!

Seamless reception, exceptional service, excellent food. My guests raved about how good the food was and the service! As a bride, I also loved that they included table linens, dinnerware, and even the cake stand and server, and more - they were things I didn’t want to worry with! And I loved that they included so much with the pricing (after the rental fee)… it was great that they house the catering (Mastersons) and have so many perks - so much easier to price out than everything individually. The Olmsted and their tenured staff were absolutely wonderful to work with! 20 stars out of 10! Highly recommend! Also, Claire and Sueanna were so helpful and accommodating in answering my 5 billion questions along the way, and I am so appreciative!

The Olmsted was a great venue that worked with me to get everything perfect prior. They did an entirely gluten free menu for me as myself and several guests have celiac. The ladies there answered my million questions and made the day so much smoother.

The OImsted was the most perfect wedding venue for us. We worked with Sueanna and Claire for a year and a half to plan the day. Everything turned out to be exactly how I imaged it from the logistics, decor, food, vibes - just perfect! What stood out to me the most was how attentive the staff was on the day of. As the bride, every time I sat down in my chair they pulled my chair out for me, placed a napkin on my lap, and always asked if I needed my drink refilled. My guests were so impressed with the whole space and we were able to flow seamlessly from the ceremony to cocktail hour to a fun reception.

The Olmsted was really a perfect venue for our wedding. It is convenient for guests to get to and in a central part of the city. Parking is easy for guests who want to drive to and from the reception. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with. The interior aesthetic is beautiful and the different wings allow for dinner to be served in one end with dancing and music in the other.

The Olmsted was amazing to work with! With our original date during covid and the restrictions still in place then we had a small ceremony there and just had our reception this year. They worked with us and were very accommodating with the constant change of plans. I couldn't recommend them enough! The food was delicious and everything went smoothly both for the reception and ceremony!

Such an elegant and gorgeous place to get married and/or have a reception. The Olmsted makes it easy as they include so much more than other vendors plus they have their own catering. The food was good and service was excellent! So glad we had our reception here.

We had our reception at the Olmsted a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint! It was beautiful and gave a very classy feel to the reception. I worked mostly with the event coordinator, Jeri, and she was able to capture everything that I ever wanted! She was flexible, quick to respond, and willing to meet whenever I wanted. If you're looking for a wonderful and beautiful venue with amazing food, you've found it!

I am beyond thrilled with choosing The Olmsted as my reception venue. Jeri and Claire were an absolute pleasure to work with through the whole planning process, and really helped my vision come to life. The venue itself is gorgeous with high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. The property is beautiful, and our wedding pictures turned out amazing both inside and outside the venue. Jeri, Claire, Sherlon and the rest of the staff at The Olmsted are amazing! We planned our wedding from Colorado and we are so grateful for how flexible and helpful everyone at the Olmsted was in the process. Even from 2000 miles away Jeri and Claire could see my vision and helped me put it into action. And, as would be expected, the food was phenomenal. Trust me, you won’t find all these included services, at this reasonable a price, and delivered with such enthusiasm as you will at The Olmsted. Jeri and Claire were AMAZING to work with for our wedding!!! I knew I wanted to get married at The Olmsted the movement we pulled up to the building... absolutely beautiful! I cannot say enough about The Olmsted!! Jeri and Claire went ABOVE & BEYOND to make my dreams come true. From the first contact with them to the big day, every email and question was answered in a professional and timely matter. Everything about this venue was perfect for my wedding. Jeri and Claire were a pleasure to work with and made the entire planning process easy and stress-free. I enjoyed how the essentials were included in the price (beautiful space, tables/chairs, linens, catering, etc.), it made it super easy and more of a "one stop shop" experience. All of our guests were raving about the food, and the service was IMPECCABLE. All of the servers exceeded our expectations the night of our event. They were gracious, patient, and SO helpful. I could not recommend this venue more for any type of event!

We could not have selected a more perfect place to have our friends and family gather to celebrate our marriage. The Olmsted is classically elegant on it's own. However, I had a dream that our reception would look and feel like "Southern Classic Elegance" with the feeling of spring. I wanted color...pinks, green and orange. I wanted gold, and specifically gold pineapples on our tables...I shared my vision with Sueanna and she brought it to life. I was in awe of the beauty and elegance, but especially impressed how she created a feeling of spring and warmth, though it was freezing outside. Sueanna and the entire staff worked tirelessly to make our night special and perfect. The Olmsted staff is superior in service. No one was ever without. My Husband and I were catered to and treated like Royalty. Feedback from our Guests is they were treated the same. The food was exceptionally delicious. We had food stations, and worked with Sueanna to create a menu thatreflected our tastes and personality...Our Guests were impressed. We loved everything about the Olmsted, working with Sueanna, Jeri and Claire. No Vendor worked harder to fulfill our wishes. I wish there were ten stars.

We could not have been happier with Jeri and her team at the Olmsted. It was the perfect venue for our glitzy NYE wedding and we have had so many compliments about not only how beautiful everything was, but also how smoothly everything went (thanks to the caterers and event staff) and how well everything flowed, from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, dinner, then the reception. It is the perfect venue for a large wedding crowd!

Although I was so busy that I didn't get to enjoy most of the food/drinks at my wedding, SO many guests have told me it was the best wedding food ever - especially the mini hot brown crostinis and the chicken florentine! I know at my tasting everything was delicious - so I trust them. The bartenders were all so friendly, and we loved having a specialty bourbon bar with top shelf selections. Kristina was so easy to work with, and never tried to push me out of my budget. Definitely recommend going with Mastersons :)

The Olmsted was the perfect choice for our wedding! From start to finish, Jeri and Claire were so pleasant to work with. They were responsive, helpful and accommodating. We planned our wedding from out of state, and Jeri was very flexible and met with us for planning meetings when we were available. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and our guests loved it! The food couldn't have been better. We had several people tell us it was the best catered dinner they've ever had. The service staff the night of our wedding were on top of everything and made everyone feel like they were VIPs. If I had 10 stars, I would give it to The Olmsted!

we cannot say enough good things about the Olmstead. We have been to numerous weddings and knew this would be a fantastic place to have our wedding(especially a very large wedding!) Everything was top notch,from Jeri and her assistant Claire who make every step easy. To the entire staff who work so hard to make sure your event is special and worry free! We have had nothing but praise from our guests:the greetingt at the door the small lines at the bar,the food service(food was fantastic !)cutting the cake and cleaning up!!A very worry free evening for the bride and Mother of the Bride!(me) Not to mention you will not find a more beautiful venue with lots of easy,free parking. All in all a magical night!!

I could not have imagined a more perfect location for our wedding reception. Even before we knew that we were going to need a large space for a venue, we were confident that we wanted to use The Olmsted. We have been to a few weddings there before and heard nothing but amazing things about the location, the staff, the catering, and Jeri! Jeri helped us along the way and made the process so easy. Even though things came up along the way that changed ours plans, she never seemed put out or bothered by the changes made. She had the goal of making our families happy. I couldnt imagine our day going as perfect as it did without her! Masterson's was flawless. We had plated meals with the choice of chicken or beef and every single guest was served their correct order. We heard so many compliments on the food as well! Everyone from the staff to the bartenders were attentive and provided excellent service. It was so nice to sit back and enjoy the wedding, feeling confident that everything was run smoothly.

The Olmsted was the perfect venue for our May wedding. Jeri and Claire were easy to work with and listened to all our questions and suggestions. The setting was stunning, the food was delicious, and the service was a 10. In fact, guests were commenting on how attentive the staff were. Jeri worked with me on an unusual signature cocktail request that turned out to be a hit. My husband and I even received a care package with samplers of all the appetizers and two pieces of each cake flavor.

Masterson's was a great fit for our wedding at the Louisville Palace! The Palace did have an in-house caterer that we decided to use just because it was easy. That was until about a few months before the wedding they cut all ties with this caterer and we were left without anyone to provided food for our wedding. We went to Masterson's and they were able to match all the appetizers and main dish that we had previously had with the old caterer. And what we found out through the tasting was - their food is better. We definitely came out on top going with Masterson's. Their staff set up all the tables beautifully and were able to provided 185 people with salmon at the perfect temperature. We actually had guests question how they were able to achieve that. We highly recommend Masterson's for any wedding!

Kristina at Masterson's was absolutely wonderful!!! She made the catering process so smooth for us. We received numerous compliments on the buffet style food at our reception. Some of the most popular selections were the tender beef carving station, chicken florentine, champagne dill salmon, and saffron rice. Everything was so flavorful and we cannot thank them enough for being so professional while serving our guests. They were very helpful throughout the entire night. I would highly recommend using Masterson's catering!!!

The good: The food was exceptional. We received a lot of compliments about how tasty it was, and the presentation (especially of the dessert bar) was great. We had Masterson's also take care of renting chairs/tents/etc, and that was extremely nice. When a problem arose on the day before, Masterson's and my coordinator took care of it immediately, which I appreciated so much. Everyone I dealt with in the office was nice and honest and committed to providing good service. Service during dinner was good, too (i.e. when I needed a refill, it was taken care of easily/quickly). The bad: While the on-site "Captain" was excellent, other staff members were less than pleasant. On a couple of different occasions while guests were present, one staff member yelled obscenities across the yard. This same staff member also spent a LOT of time in our photo booth, which we all found to be a little disrespectful/unprofessional. It was not just the one member who spent time in the photo booth either. Lastly, the staff members wrapped up the rest of the food for themselves without even asking us (the bride/groom) if we wanted any wrapped up. I didn't get to really eat, and so it would have been nice to have a little something for later that night after the wedding. But unfortunately, I was never asked about this, and there was no food left over because it had all been wrapped up to go. Overall: I think the price was fair, the food was excellent, but the service and professionalism of the on-site staff members could have been better.

Masterson's has been known for being the best in Louisville and they did not disappoint! They were super helpful with all of the questions and changing of the menu multiple times leading up to the big day, and offer free tastings (they let you take all the leftovers home too!) Even with all of the mishaps of the day caused by the venue, Masterson's made sure to accommodate anything I needed changed the minute I asked them. Their staff was polite and so helpful! They made the buffet look so beautiful -- I didn't even know that they did all the decorating on the buffet tables like that until I walked up to get food and it was an awesome touch! Every time I see someone from the wedding they keep commenting on how good and HOT the food was! Even people at the back of the line still had hot food and that was great -- AND they offer late night snacks which was a nice addition to our wedding!! I definitely recommend them to anyone that will ask. Their prices are reasonable and you know that the end product will be delicious! Thanks again for all the help in making my wedding day great!

The Olmsted was amazing, Jeri made everything so easy. The recent updates to the facility have made a huge difference. The chandleries are stunning, the new paint and added décor has really upgraded this place. We looked into several locations for our reception but this truly was the perfect fit for us.

Hands down the BEST venue in Louisville, KY. Not only is it a beautiful location (especially with all the new updates!) and the food amazingly tasty, but they also deliver top notch service that make for such a wonderful and enjoyable event. Jeri was a true pleasure to work with as we planned our wedding reception at The Olmsted. We had a lot of final week changes and she fixed each thing as they came along. The staff was very professional and friendly at the event. The food was great and the venue is beautiful. You don't have to go crazy decorating this venue, because it is lovely as is.

Masterson's Catering is as good as it gets. We used them for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception. The food is great, even when serving that many people, and they work with you to customize a menu (love Kristina) to suit your tastes and budget. The service both nights was incredible, but particularly at the reception where they went above and beyond, for example, calling my guests by name, and helping clean up spills on the dance floor. Between the staff and the food, hiring Mastersons is a no-brainer.

Food was amazing. Had fried green tomato salad, squash soup, and choice of beef, pork, or salmon. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They made our day much easier by keeping things organized and immediately following up on our requests. The building itself is gorgeous especially if you're going for an an antique look.

This place is beautiful!!! Jeri and her staff are wonderful and fun to work with. Our daughter's reception was everything we could imagine and more. The food was delicious and there was plenty! We loved that everything (food, tables and chairs, linens) was all handled right there. Also, you give them your vendor phone numbers and Jeri's staff coordinates the set up. No need for a coordinator, they are it!! But the bottom line is...our guests were treated so well! We had 2 guests that we didn't know were gluten intolerant. They were immediately accommodated. Now that's service!

I loved the Olmsted from the moment I drove up...and then walked in the doors! It is a stunning place. It is a beautiful venue. It is simple, yet very elegant and classy. But the more I worked with the staff, the better the Olmsted became. The staff was so accommodating, they were so friendly, and obviously enjoy what they do. You don't have to worry about anything there, because they account for all that's needed. My dress seam popped open right before my wedding, but Jeri (the event coordinator) was there to sew it back up - a priceless talent! I highly recommend the Olmsted.

Masterson's went above and beyond for our rustic wedding on Nolin Lake, KY. The place settings they provided were gorgeous and the food was spot-on, everyone was so impressed by the presentation and taste. They prepared a 5-star meal in a barn in the woods, making the event seem magical. Highly, highly recommend if you budget allows it.

Masterson's was awesome. They were amazing on their response time, kept in touch and were on top of every detail. They arrived early and set everything up exactly how we imagined it and made sure everyone had warm, delicious food. The bar service was a little slow [but our friends can drink a lot, so not particularly their fault]. If you are having around 150 guests, I would recommend at least 3 bartenders, instead of just 2. Overall, amazing and absolutely delicious food!

Masterson's provided my bar and catering. Sueanna had great ideas for my southern wedding, and everything was much more affordable than other caterer's. Masterson's even packed a little sandwich plate for us to have before the wedding started/save for afterwards. The staff was so friendly--I think every server came up to me and congratulated me personally. I can't think of having any other caterer at my wedding.

I would absolutely recommend the Olmsted to anyone! The venue is breath taking. We did not have many decorations as to not take away from the detail of the venue. The staff was amazing to work with and very accommodating. They helped us stay within our budget as far as catering was concerned, the coordinator for the day was available and easy to contact at all times. We loved being able to have everything in the same place: ceremony and reception. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. We received so many compliments on how good it was and everyone was so impressed with the service. We had a plated dinner and it was very affordable and we loved that they served the meals with smiles and patience. They also had delicious gluten free options, that were a huge hit. It was an amazing experience. I look back on my day with such joy. They made it absolutely perfect.

Kristina was our coordinator and she was so awesome to work with and she was very accommodating with my husband and I. The Olmsted is such a beautiful and amazing place to have your wedding at! The event manager is amazing to work with and answered any questions we had promptly! The price is a little much, however you defiantly get what you pay for. Also the food was awesome!

Food and service was great!! Used them for an outside wedding and food still tasted like it was fresh from the kitchen! Definitely recommend!

You not just paying for the space, you get so much more. Jeri and Meredith work also as your wedding coordinator. They have vender suggestions, help you will every detail of the menu (you have to use Mastersons, their kitchen is in the back) and help you with a day of itinerary. The location is beautiful and you don't need a lot of extra decoration.

Delicious food, great service, couldn't be happier! Masterson's was great to work with. Well known, established company that is very dependable. Also, as we were leaving the reception, they handed us a bag. They had packed us sandwiches, fruit and cheese to go! I was starving after having not eaten much all day and this was a wonderful surprise. Showed us how much they cared and we had so much fun eating our little picnic at the hotel!

Our venue provided a list of approved vendors and originally we selected a different caterer. After multiple disappointments, we went back to the list and met with Kristina at Masterson's. From the first email, Kristina exuded confidence that she could help make our wedding what we wanted it to be. We gave her a budget and we were able to provide plenty of food and drinks for our guests. The waitstaff at the event was also wonderful! They never missed a beat. Looking back at our original catering selection, it is easy to say you get what you pay for. Thank you Masterson's for helping with our special day!

Masterson's Catering did a fabulous job at our wedding. The staff was very professional, organize, and polite. The food was really good and the price was reasonable. Kristina Haysley was extremely helpful during the coordinating process and the day of the wedding. This company chilled our beer and wine for us and brought it to the venue. I highly recommend them for any event.
