About this vendor
Tucked away behind the iconic Pontchartrain Hotel, an unassuming garage door gives way to the dazzling interior of The Parlor.
The Parlor at the Pontchartrain features a historic industrial shell and glamorous details, making it the ideal event venue for weddings, parties and grand events of all kinds - because we don’t need a reason to celebrate in New Orleans.

I cannot say enough great things about my reception. I am a local and planned my wedding myself. I looked around at many venues and this one was the best price with everything I was looking for! It included all of the food, bar, basic linens and tables so I didn't have to stress about any of that. I started to work with Ruby from the Pontchartrain who was amazing. She was in constant communication and answered all of my questions . On the day of the wedding Novel, the event coordinator, stepped up made sure everything was perfect. The space is great as its connected to the hotel which makes it super convenient since we had a lot of out of town guest. The food is AMAZING, people were telling me it was the best food at a wedding they ever had. I wouldn't say you could have an enormous wedding here but I had 130 with a dance floor and it was comfortable. The backdrop and chandeliers are beautiful. It was the best night ever!
THE BEST DECISION we have made throughout our whole wedding process is booking this venue. This place is truly outstanding! The food, the staff, and the character of this place is everything that we could have hoped for. My husband and I were hunting like crazy for the perfect venue for us and The Parlor was exactly that. I remember emailing Ruby throughout the months before our wedding day and she would respond within SECONDS. They truly want to make everything go as easy as possible for you and to make your day memorable. They were attentive to our needs and wants and we honestly felt like we were treated like royalty! THE FOOD! Our guests to this day says that the food was the best food they ever had at a wedding. WOW! The service? PHENOMENAL. Everyone had a smile on their face and they were so quick to help you. There is not a bad thing I could say about this place. My husband and I still reminisce about our day and we agree that it could not have been this good without The Parlor and it's staff. THANK YOU! I could shout to the rooftops about how incredible this venue is and I recommend it to everyone!

BEST. VENUE. We had our wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous! The venue is beautiful in itself so we didn’t have to bring in too much decor. The staff was exceptional and the food was delicious! I still get compliments about how amazing the food was even months after our wedding! I would have my wedding here again and again! HIGHLY recommend!
Small weddings may do okay here but if you have more than 100 people, don’t do it. It’s so small and it has 2 levels which isn’t good for older or drinking guests. Entrance is on the side. It was pouring and the manager made everyone walk through the rain instead of going through the hotel. There isn’t much of a dance floor once you cram all those large tables in. Bathrooms aren’t very nice and food stations were hard to get to. I wasn’t impressed with this venue.
Don’t get me wrong, the space is gorgeous and Mary (event coordinator) was great to work with, however, the front desk was awful and if I have any advise for people considering this venue it’s DO NOT BOOK A WEDDING BLOCK WITH THE HOTEL. They canceled my maid of honor’s room, her family’s room and a few rooms of my family members THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING, after reaching out to confirm their rooms 3 days prior. The man at the front desk was flippant and down-right rude. They seriously told me I could chose other rooms of people on my block to make room for people who were canceled. I’m sorry…what?? The night of the rehearsal dinner, the hotel told me I could check in to my bridal suite at 3. When I got there my room wasn’t anywhere close to ready, even though they said it would be. I had to get ready between two different rooms and was this late for my own ceremony rehearsal. Aside from this they messed up payment methods with my mothers room and my mother in law’s rooms. At the reception there were some minor issues. The grooms cake was never served. They said it was because they never got a directive..but they are caterers? People had to ask for bridal wedding cake as a minimal amount was passed around. I can live with the reception issues, but the issues with the rooms is inexcusable and came very close to ruining our weekend. It was incredibly stressful. I was never offered an apology. They never reached out to remedy the situation. I expect better service considering this was a $40,000 reception and I had so many guests booking multiple night stays. If I had to do it all over again, I would 100% choose a different venue.
Weddings parties be warned: My fiancé and I reserved a room at the Pontchartrain Hotel 11 months ago (on January 18, 2021) for our wedding in New Orleans in November, only for the hotel to cancel our reservation mere days before our wedding, with no recourse and no apparent concern for their actions. We had not previously stayed at the Pontchartrain but were struck by the design and aesthetic of the rooms, and the hotel had fantastic reviews. Among other things, I had specifically reserved the Calliope Suite in order to get ready with my bridesmaids, with the intention that "day of" photos be taken there.
Now, a mere 5 days prior to our arrival in New Orleans and less than 7 days before our wedding, we find ourselves scrambling to find alternative accommodations after the Pontchartrain called us to notify us that they were cancelling our reservations, blaming "carpet repairs" and "broken windows." Adding insult to injury, we were notified at 6 PM on Friday, the week before our wedding, after everyone had already left for the weekend and with little to no time to find another hotel to stay at. Even worse, minutes after leaving us a voicemail to explain that they were cancelling our reservation (again) that we booked 11 months ago, the hotel sent us an email explaining that they were "sad to see that you found it necessary to cancel your reservation with us."
My fiancé went to school in New Orleans and we visit very frequently. I've honestly never had a worse customer service experience at a hotel in my life.
I truly cannot say enough about Viviane, Kelsey, Keron, and the entire Pontchartrain team. They not only made us feel like VIPs and went above and beyond for our every need, but our entire wedding block of guests had the same experience. I would recommend this hotel and this team to anyone. We were so thrilled to have you a part of our wedding weekend, and you absolutely helped make it more special than we ever could have imagined.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing! Everyone is so sweet and accommodating! I highly recommend to any bride looking for a unique venue to host their wedding
