AMAZING VENUE!!! Thank you, Kaitlyn, for everything you did to make our son & daughter-in-law's wedding reception such a beautiful event! Your attention to detail and work ethic is amazing and greatly appreciated! Thank you, also, to every employee who helped with the set up the night before as well as making the day run so smoothly. Everyone we encountered was so pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious and the day was just perfect! Thank you again! 🥰
My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Phoenix in June 2022. Everything about our day was absolutely perfect! Kaitlyn, the event coordinator and her entire staff were so helpful, accommodating and truly treated us like family. The food was excellent, as well! The space was very clean and comfortable for all guests. If you are looking for a hometown feel in a gorgeous space, with great food and staff, that won’t break the bank, The Phoenix is for you!
Very mixed opinions with this venue. First off, this venue is beautiful. They've updated a lot and it shows. Pictures were gorgeous. The wait staff was lovely and the food was mainly- (that'll come later) decent. Lisa was attentive responding to emails promptly & showing us around the venue.
Our main issue was with Lisa, actually. She is a nice person and very attentive to details, especially as planning a wedding is hectic and the ball can easily be dropped on little things. That being said, we are grateful for her help with that. But, she came off to many of our family and guests as abrasive.
The day prior to the wedding we were to come by from 1130 to set up and had until 3pm. Atleast from the email exchange that's what we thought. Around 1pm, Lisa seemed to be agitated and said that she was late & was "supposed to leave 15 minutes ago" but cannot leave until we are done. Thankfully, we were able to wrap everything up as we had a lot of help. A few other minor things that day, and my aunt said she was given attitude about having to vaccum the carpet now because we were cutting fresh flowers for centerpieces.
Anyway, the day of- the cocktail party was well under way when my new husband and I arrived. We came in the back door and were immediately pulled aside to address an issue with two people who came but weren't listed (we paid for 2 extra plates anyway for a guest who passed away just prior to, so they just sat there.) As we are taking pictures on the dance floor, just the bridal party, our photographers are taking pictures & Lisa jumps in and starts rearranging our bridal party by height, which we didnt ask for or want. Also while literally yelling at a guest for coming in the door from the cocktail room.
So then we go back out the door to come in the main door to rejoin our cocktail hour. As soon as we walk in the front doors, Lisa comes to us again saying, "Your guests have already gone through 15lbs of shrimp so...?". We just kinda shrugged, like who cares? But it seemed like a big issue to her.
During dinner Lisa comes up to our SH table & told us that a man with a boutineer was being rude & slamming his glass at the bar and shell have to ask him to leave if it continues. Also that one of our guest threw up in a trash can during the cocktaiks and that she "didnt appreciate having to clean it out of the trash can". It was my husband's 85 years old grandfather, who had not been drinking. He ate a potsticker & said he felt sick. He very quietly, threw up into the trash can. If you were not standing directly near you would not have even realized what happened. He felt bad and apologized to us, which wasnt needed. Alan dint appreciate Lisa making it sound like he was a drunk throwing up all over. He then went to speak with his father, embarrassed that our dinner was interrupted & he had to go talk to his dad & address whatever happened . The bar supervisor came over & I asked him about it . He waved me off & said it was not a big deal & that the man had apologized. Many times Lisa interrupted our night for things that did not need our attention & guests nick named her The dragon lady. 3 more people threw up who didnt drink, including my 6yr old. Lisa brushed it off the next day saying she ate the food and was fine. 🙄 She had an issue with drunk people even though they have a bar. Nobody broke anything or was out of control, yet she complained about people drinking.
So beautiful and affordable but proceed with caution.
Being a bride on a budget, I never imagined I'd get married in a place so spectacularly gorgeous. My heart belongs in the art deco area and I had my eyes fixed on this place for a little while, thinking it was outside the realm of possibility for my event. Abby Rawlings made it all possible and was fantastic to work with. Rather than choose from their offerings of wedding packages, she helped me craft the perfect custom package that fit everything I was hoping for. I did not sacrifice a single thing. She was so patient with me in working everything out. She had immediate answers to all my questions and solutions to all my concerns. She was extremely easy to get in contact with. Friends and family tried to prepare me for the stress that comes along with the big day, but I have to believe I was one of the most stressless brides there ever was, simply because Abby took care of everything I needed and everything I didn't know I needed. The Phoenix made our wedding a timeless, unforgettable event for everyone involved. Guests continue to rave about the beautiful venue and mouthwatering dinner. I could not be happier.
I got married on a gorgeous June day and we did our ceremony and reception at the Phoenix. Lisa is so great. She kept in contact often and tried to make sure everything was perfect. She was very thorough. The staff is so friendly and asked us throughout the night how everything was. The prices are AMAZING. I was so happy. There are so many different options to choose from- from the food to drinks to cocktail hour. The venue has a few rooms for all your amenities. There is plenty of parking. The decor was so gorgeous!! Very happy with how beautiful it all turned out!
If you are looking for a beautiful, affordable wedding venue, The Phoenix is hands down the best in the Lehigh Valley! From the minute we met Lisa, she devoted herself to making our day as incredible as we envisioned. She worked with us to create something we could fit into our budget, giving us multiple options and never pressured us into something we were uncomfortable with. In fact, she played a huge role in helping us plan the whole event. We would have been lost without her honesty, advice, guidance, and patience. Throughout this process, Lisa became family. The staff at The Phoenix were extremely accommodating , professional, and personable. The food was absolutely out of this world, and ALL of our guests commented on the quality and quantity of the meal. The entire staff at The Phoenix played a huge part in the success of our wedding, and the amount of our guests who are still talking about our wedding is a testament to that. Myself, and my wife will forever be grateful to Lisa and her staff for making sure our day was stress free, and beyond perfect.
