The Plantation on Crystal River

We just did a wedding this weekend and it was such a mess. They canceled the rehearsal dinner because they overbooked (even though we had signed long in advance). It took us an hour to get into the bridal suite that didn’t even have a place to hang the dress up. And then they failed to mention that the groomsmen did not have a separate room to get ready in. When I went down to the ceremony site to start decorating it was completely trashed. The chairs from the previous wedding were still there and soaking wet with trash littered around. And there was soooo many flower petals left on isle. When we mentioned this to the planner she told me “there was nothing we can do about the flowers”. Maintenance showed up took a dozen chairs and just left, said they’d tried to find a rake for the flowers and then never came back. The chairs were left over night soaking wet rusted and probably mildewed We were also put in the farthest building from the ceremony site and was told that a golf cart would be an extra charge. Dinner was an hour late and mediocre. The route from the entrance lobby to the ceremony makes no sense and there is no signs or directions for your guests so keep that in mind. The rooms and gazebo are very outdated and in desperate need of maintenance. They made no attempt to accommodate in anyway whatsoever. While the staff was relatively pleasant they just don’t seem to know what they’re doing. None of our vendors that we worked with want to return here either

Our wedding at The Plantation on Crystal River was perfect and a huge part of it was not only the resort and the location itself, but all the help from the resort staff and on-site wedding coordinator. We loved this venue for a number of reasons. The ceremony site/gazebo was beautiful and in a unique location out in the springs. We liked that guests could stay on site and not have to travel to the ceremony or the reception site and wouldn't have to find a way back to their hotel after the reception. All of the waitstaff and staff at the hotel were so accommodating and helpful to us and all of our guests staying on site. The food for the wedding and our rehearsal dinner also came from the on-site restaurant and it was beyond expectation and much better than usual "wedding food". I, as the bride, also really appreciated the spa onsite that did all of my bridal party and mine hair and make up on the day off. Having everything all in one place made our wedding much easier to plan and easier on all of our out of town guests. We worked with Jacey Volkman, the on-site wedding coordinator, to make all of our arrangements at the venue and the entire process was so seamless. She readily answered our questions via email and was a huge help in the day of coordination of checking in vendors and making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. She was a big part of why our wedding was so special and so perfect. My husband and I have so many positive and wonderful things to say about this venue and we could not recommend it enough!

We had our wedding here last month and it was everything we ever dreamed of! Lori was our coordinator and she was very helpful in making all our requests a reality! The food was amazing, everyone loved it! I definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for elegance on a budget! I was worried because they are doing updates on the rooms and facilities but everything g was beautiful! Our room was above our expectations! Many guests stayed at the hotel as well and enjoyed themselves at the tiki bar and dining at the restaurant. All in all it was a beautiful weekend with friends and family at a beautiful venue! We had our wedding at the plantation on crystal river back in October 2016 and I have to say it was the best choice that we made. From the people taking care of us toe the service for our guest and the quality of the food. I have to say that everyone of our guest that we talked to told us how good the food was and how beautiful the plantation on crystal river is. I also have to give Carrie some kiddos for making sure that everything went smoothly. Carrie is a true help and knows weddings and the in's and outs of what should be done. Over all it was the best day of our lives.
