I went in totally clueless. Cara and Olivia were patient and kind in directing me towards the right type of dress. In the process, I felt they were actually interested in getting to know me as a person as opposed to throwing me in random dresses and hoping for the best. We ended up finding the perfect dress and I could not be happier! I would recommend The Poinsett Bride to anyone on the hunt for the perfect dress 10/10 times.

ne that Olivia picked out! She styled a belt with it (which I would have never done!) and the belt made the dress. Alterations were a breeze and the ladies made sure the dress fit me to a T. Olivia helped me style the dress with the perfect pair of earrings and a necklace. I feel like Olivia is a lifelong friend! I really came in to the appointment thinking I was going to go back to the other dress Iloved from a different store. She has some kind of magical insight and after seeing me in a few dresses and hearing what we liked and didn't like, she found THE dress. At first glance, I was skeptical because it wasn't what I had in mind at all, but once I had it on, I fell in love... and then my family saw it and their reaction was priceless. We had found the one!! Fast forward 2 months... After I got my dress, my mom spent weeks looking for her Mother of the Bride dress. After striking out online and at several shops, I suggested we go back to Poinsett. She got an appointment with Olivia and like magic she found all the dresses she needed in less than 2 hours. Since they had dresses for pretty much all wedding occasions, I decided to look for my reception dress there as well. I tried on several and then Olivia struck again!! She pulled out this dress and I was skeptical at first, but it was truly the ONE... well the "OTHER" ONE! At the end of that session my mother and I both and found all the dresses we needed: rehearsal dinner, wedding & reception and the day after brunch. We were so grateful to Vikki, the owner, her amazing dress collection and her wonderful staff! Special thanks to Olivia and Linette!

I moved away from the Greenville area after I had ordered my dress and they shipped it to me once it arrived to their shop. The dress was ordered WAY too big for me, but I wasn't worried because a good tailor could take it in. When it was time to have it tailored, I took it to a local shop that was recommended to me. They said that I couldn't have it taken in all the way necessary because the construction of the dress. Long story, short - that tailor took it in too much in one place and not enough in another. I had a dress that didn't fit (the week before my portraits, no less). I called the Poinsett Bride upset because they ordered my dress too big. Olivia was wonderful! She was calm, comforting and completely understood why I was upset. She utilized the Poinsett Bride's collective network and found me a local tailor that tailored the rest of my dress beautifully. If it wasn't for her, I don't know if my dress would have worked on my wedding day. Thank you, Olivia, for your patience, kindness, and professionalism in helping this bride have a wedding dress that fit!

I thought I would hate, I cried I loved it so much. She was NOT pushy about a sale at all, she sensed my hesitation about buying a dress I had done so little research on. She rush ordered me a sample of a similar dress to try on so that I could feel better about my decision. I ended up choosing the original dress but it took away any and all second thoughts that I had. My fittings went seamlessly and on my wedding day, everything fit perfectly! They even handled shipping my dress to New England where I was getting married and I had insurance and tracking info for piece of mind. Highly recommend them, they made this one of the least stressful parts of wedding planning!

r store. So, I went dress shopping alone to narrow down my top contenders at each salon. Yep, I went dress shopping alone! My experience: Dress shopping alone seemed very daunting at first. As soon as I arrived, there was 1 other large bridal party having a fitting for the bride and bridal party. (They don't book more than 2 parties at a time.) I was very embarrassed at first. Like, "Hi! Yes, don't mind me. I'm that girl that goes dress shopping alone!" But as soon as Maggie (my sales attendant) had me under her wing it was immediately magical. She knew of my solo situation and never pressured me to purchase a dress. She pulled every dress I wanted to try plus utilized her expertise to pull gowns on her own. I tried on about 14 dress of all types, she took loads of pictures for me and I was out the door, super happy, within an hour. 1 hour! It was amazing. She could tell by the first look on my face whether I was happy/satisfied in the dress I was wearing. It's like she had known me for years, a complete personal experience. I fell in love with 2 dress contenders and scheduled another appointment for my family to tag along. Hands down best personal experience ever.

I felt a little apprehensive before my appointment because I knew there was no way I was going to fit into the "sample sizes." She did a really great job of making sure that I could envision what the dress would look like when it actually fit in the back (she made sure that the opening in the back due to the fact that I didn't fit was always covered so I wasn't exposed).They have their dresses arranged by price range, so without even going into detail with her, we were able to zero in on the right "section" for us based on our budget. I wanted a dress with sleeves on top, and at first got a little discouraged because I didn't see a lot of them...but the sales associate told me that I should look at the style of the dress and keep in mind that sleeves could be added after. I had never even thought of doing that! With her guidance, I found THE PERFECT dress! My second visit was for my first fitting. I had quite a lot of people accompany me for my fitting and we never felt crowded, rushed or like we were sharing the store with anyone else. My grandmother was there in a wheelchair with an aid, my aunt, my mother and my future mother-in-law. For those who are concerned about sharing the spotlight with another bride, consider making an appointment during a weekday. Just like anywhere else, a store like this will have more appointments on the weekend, so if you're looking for completely individual attention, you have to meet people half way sometimes! The fitting was such a wonderful experience. Their alterations department knows exactly what to do to the dress to make it look perfect. They started a pattern for the sleeves on my dress during the consultation and accommodated any requests I had as far as the shape of the dress on top with useful suggestions. They are truly experts in their field! My future mother-in-law traveled here with me from New York. She was incredibly complimentary of the staff at this store. She ended up purchasing a dress for our wedding here as well! They have an awesome selection of dresses for the rest of the bridal party as well as mothers, etc. I love the dress because it's more modern, and not matronly at all. My final dress fitting went perfect. The dress was absolutely stunning and they also fixed my mother's veil so that I could wear it at my wedding! I was just married 12/30/16 and had nothing but compliments about my dress and I felt absolutely beautiful and amazing on that day! Unfortunately in the world of brides, positive reviews are few and far between and weddings sometimes bring out the worst in people. Brides can be incredibly picky and petty in this moment they've been waiting for their entire lives. I would urge anyone reading reviews of vendors for their wedding to really look at all the reviews for a place and not just the negative ones. These experiences can be incredibly emotionally charged and girls build them up in their heads so much that nothing is going to measure up no matter what.

My mom could have passed or maybe I didn't have a mom. Very insensitive of her. Then, she asked about Our jobs. I told her my fiancé is a pilot in the Marine Corps and I am a Pharmacy technician. She followed by saying he has the "real" job and just have a little side job. I found that absolutely insulting! Multiple times she left me and went to help a different bride with accessories. The other bride already had a lady helping her so it was frustrating having her leave me in the dressing room to go make another sale. I was overall unsatisfied and she didn't seem like she cared for me to be there. I will not go back!

I was shocked when after only 15 minutes of working with her, she was able to find a dress that was so completely "me." They were also great with the alterations. The alterations were made very quickly and to my exact specifications, which was wonderful since I only had a 7-month engagement. Everything went so well, and I would recommend The Poinsett Bride to anyone in the Upstate SC area who is looking to say "yes!" to the dress!

I took a picture just in case, but when I came back in she remembered exactly what I was talking about. The sash turned out beautifully! I felt amazing in that dress. The dresses I did try on were absolutely gorgeous but when I asked how much one cost, the associate working with me didn't know and had to ask another consultant who was visibly annoyed to answer. After we left, my group told me one of the consultants working with another bride had been giving them several dirty looks as I was in the back trying things on. It was a busy Saturday and we all have our off days, but this was NOT the experience I was hoping for. The woman I was working with directly was friendly, but it didn't make up for the overall experience. I was happy and relieved to leave Poinsett Bride and go straight back to The Dress in Mauldin and buy a dress I had tried on earlier that day.

. She found the perfect dress for me and my body type and was friendly, helpful and kind. No need to shop for bridal gowns in NYC when you have this kind of attention and selection in South Carolina!
