Lights and heaters warm the space up in the evening, and in cold weather, coverings can be placed on the sides to keep in the heat. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding venue. If you're looking to have an intimate outdoor wedding, do yourself a favor and book The Poplars. The scenery was stunning, the facilities were clean and well-equipped, and Alan went above and beyond in making sure everything went smoothly. I couldn't recommend more highly!

We got married here in early September 2024 and it was perfect! We saw the pavilion online and knew that we wanted to have our wedding here. Alan, Michael, and everyone else we met were so welcoming and friendly. We could tell they really care about the property and wanted the best for us while we were there! We rented all 4 houses and it was truly better than we could have imagined. The whole weekend was filled with joy and we got to spend quality time together, which is was so important to us. It was so nice to have everyone in one place! P.S. we highly recommend renting golf carts, it helped so much to easily transport people and get around the property

We had the most magical experience at The Poplars in May, 2022. We rented the houses and pavilion for a week and are so glad we did. Our family and guests were able to arrive early and enjoy beautiful Bearwallow Mountain- hiking on the nature conservancy trails and hanging out in the hot tubs. The houses were designed thoughtfully, with everything we needed for the week. The owner was responsive and helpful- making sure all of our needs were met throughout the week and for our rehearsal dinner. We had 75 person rehearsal dinner at the Poplars Pavilion and everyone loved the venue. The weather was beautiful- a spring fog settled between The Poplars and it was magic! The catering company, Celine and Company, had no problem accessing or setting up at the venue. My husband and I 10/10 recommend this venue. We are so thankful we had this quiet, gorgeous retreat during our wedding week! Thank you Poplars team!

My friend hosted her wedding reception here, and it was absolutely stunning! Our family stayed overnight in one of the cabins, and it was clean, charming, and well-stocked. Alan and Annie (the hosts) made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay and had everything we needed. The grounds are gorgeous and it was so nice that we all had our own personal space in the cabin while still getting to stay together under one roof.

My sisters wedding was magical because of The Poplars. Her whole bridal party stayed in the upper cabin and had a blast getting ready and hanging in the hot tub before the big day. The ceremony was beautiful, filled with mountain views and lush green nature as far as the eye could see. The guys stayed in the lower cabin and we had a great time cooking some awesome food, soaking in the hot tub, and even went for an awesome hike to the top of Bearwallow Mountain. What a weekend, so happy they chose this venue.

The Poplars was everything we wanted for our special day and more!! All our family were able to stay on the beautiful property with us. The cabins were amazing! We soaked in the hot tub, went on some breathtaking hikes, and just had a great time. Alan and Annie were the perfect hosts as well. Everything that we needed was already there and they provided advice, help parking cars, and anything else we needed. The covered pavilion was dreamy and we danced the night away. Highly recommend.

We had our wedding weekend here and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Allen was great to work with and gave us the permission to create a wedding experience that was fully unique to us. We had 100 guests and 20-24 people stay on property for the weekend. Both of the houses were perfect for holding our wedding party and family and gave an intimate experience. The grounds and pavilion were absolutely breathtaking. For the couple, that wants a naturally stunning venue and the autonomy for each decision, this is it. Thank you Allen for helping us creating the best weekend of our lives.

This venue is absolutely stunning! Alan and his crew have done an amazing job with the venue amenities, and are great about communication. We loved staying on the property and hosting our entire wedding on site. If you love the blue ridge mountains, this is the perfect place for your wedding!

This venue couldn’t have been any more perfect. The owner, Alan, was VERY responsive and accommodating. He continues to upkeep and add features to the venue. All of my guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful it was. We had about 90 guests and we fit comfortably with extra space if we needed it. We also loved that our wedding party and family was able to stay on site. It was the perfect weekend for us.

We had our wedding at the Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain this past October and I don't believe there exists any other place more perfect than this, at least not for us. We had a destination wedding and wanted a place in which all of our family could stay for the weekend. It was a perfect Fall weekend. Alan and Annie were very accommodating and helpful. We booked the place without even visiting. I was in the area a couple of weeks before the wedding and scheduled a walkthrough with Alan. He took the time to show me the property, gave us pointers and suggestions based on what others had done before and toured the houses. I provided the layout for our tables for the pavilion, our ceremony chairs as well as our timeline and it was all set up before we arrived. It was so nice to have the extra time to decorate and hang out with our friends and families.

Words can not even describe how wonderful and what an absolute godsend The Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain was as a wedding venue and accommodations for both my family and my in-laws. Planning a wedding during Covid was a nightmare and I found The Poplars after having one wedding venue cancelled on me (less than 2 months before the wedding). I couldn’t be more happy about the last minute changes. The events director, Kristen, was so helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. I had been left hanging several times with the previous venue, so that was extremely appreciated. When we were there for the event both the owner, Alan, and Kristen were extremely helpful and bent over backwards to make it a wonderful experience for all of us. Both for the wedding day itself as well as the week that we stayed on the property. The two houses on the property are absolutely beautiful and the pavilion was exactly we wanted: an area big enough to have food and dancing as well as tables to sit and eat. I really couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. While I don’t recommend starting from scratch less than months before your wedding, I do highly recommend booking The Poplars :) It was worth all the last minute stress. Not only was it significantly cheaper than any other venue I looked at, it has beautiful views from the venue and both accommodations.

This venue was perfect for our intimate ceremony. The adventurous drive up the mountain is rewarded by breathtaking views and a tranquil privacy that you wouldn’t be able to find at most venues. We enjoyed having the days before the ceremony to spend time with our families in the beautiful cottages and prepare for the big day. I’d also like to mention that the owner is very accommodating and the events director Kristen is so helpful and thorough!

Annie and Alan were wonderful hosts and helped make our wedding ceremony exactly what we dreamed of. They were very flexible and responsive, going the extra step to help create the space we envisioned on their property. They even provided rhododendron branches Alan had cleared from another part of the property so that my husband could build us a custom arbor. The property is gorgeous and varied for photographs, from a towering tree grove in the front yard to 180 degree views of the Eastern Continental divide off the deck, and the house itself is beautiful and spacious. A nice touch was the fresh cut flowers that were arranged in every room. I would highly recommend a wedding ceremony in this location if you are looking for an intimate and beautiful location with helpful and accommodating hosts.
