First off, the Post is a stunning location on its own! We hardly had to decorate to make it beautiful for our wedding. The venue received countless compliments. The food catered by Paddle Trap was delicious, and the chicken sandwich was a huge hit! We had about 200 guests, and the Post accommodated them perfectly. Working with LeeAnn and the Post staff has been incredibly easy. From the beginning, we were able to communicate via text, email, or in person whenever needed. We felt confident throughout the entire process and were pleased with the pricing. The bar staff was friendly and fun to work with! We're thrilled with how everything turned out and would definitely host another event there. Our day was perfect, and everything went off without a hitch! Thank you all again for helping make it happen!
My husband and I got married here in late January 2024. We needed a budget location that allowed us to do our own food and house 300 guests. (We planned our wedding in 4 months.)
We opted out of all decor and service packages, preferring to purchase and set up ourselves. The only requirement was that the bar had to be done by the venue.
The Post had the best rates for the space of anywhere we could find nearby with enough room. The Post really delivered on everything and provided a great space for our families!
The Host, Lee Ann, is very accommodating and we recommend that you take advantage of her skills and knowledge by being honest, clear, and communicative.
We were concerned about the bad reviews until we met her and read the contract. I am convinced that many couples never read the full contract and do not realize that this is an a la carte venue. What you do not buy, you provide.
We had no trouble when we simply explained our budget and preferences. In the end, we got more than we paid for because we were clear right off the bat.
We purchased linens and alcohol through The Post and both were great buys at the best prices I could find for such short notice.
The evening of our reception the room was sparkling. Lee Ann even saved us some gorgeous greenery accents to use!
This is a wonderful venue. We had a perfect wedding.
Thank you Lee Ann and the Sixteen03 Main Events team!
We had a grand time at The Post!
The venues is beautiful, rustic, and updated (perfect for us and our wedding) and reasonably priced and was the perfect size!
It was wonderful with the 135 people we had there and the AC was amazing and kept it cool and comfortable. We had our wedding over July 4th weekend and it was hot outside. But our outdoor ceremony was lovely because it was in the shade and the guests were too! We timed it just right.
LeeAnn is a gem! She was easy to work with and very accommodating and thoughtful, and helped make our day perfect! We had so many compliments on the venue and LeeAnn. Her service at the bar and checking in with us leading up to the wedding, a few times the day of our wedding were fantastic! We and the guests love(d) her! We live 120 miles away and she was flexible with time for us to come do walk throughs. I could text and email her with any questions or requests. She worked with our other vendors. And we received our security deposit back in a timely manner.
We LOVED our time at The Post and with LeeAnn! We highly recommend having your event at The Post. Nothing but great things to say about our experience!
LeAnn was awesome to work with. Anytime we made it to town (farm life) we would try to meet up to go over everything and if something changed she was just a call or text away. She looked all over for our alter piece it took her a little bit but she did it, thr skull was a hit we loved it. She was very helpful in the planning situation especially when she had to come up with an indoor and outdoor situation on the fly since the weather was not what we had thought. The decorations were absolutely perfect, the bar help was amazing, LeAnn was so wonderful to my family. With everything that happened a week before our wedding we were lucky enough to even have the wedding LeAnn made she we were taken care of and that everything was what we wanted done she double even triple checked. We loved every minute of the night. We wouldn't have changed anything but the weather.
Our wedding turned out perfect! Pricing was very fair, we had a lot of decor we were working with and they were very responsive and worked with us on all requests. We made multiple trips out to measure and plan our layout, they were extremely accommodating in allowing us in the space. Each time we were met with smiles and nothing but friendly and professional responses. Although we did our own decor, they have a large variety of rental decor and event knowledge. I would highly recommend this venue and team for your special day.
it’s taken me so long to write this review and i’ve thought it over and over in my head
we got married in april and the venue itself is so beautiful and fun however, leeann is the WORST person to deal with.
let’s begin with her missing our initial walk through because she got me mixed up with someone else at a different venue. i should have ended it here but, as i said, i love the post venue.
wedding planning was horrible because she kept losing my plans and ideas so i would have to resend them and explain it again. when i would ask for quotes, leeann would tell me she would get them to me within the week and 2-3 weeks later i would have to ask again, since she forgot. leeann would verbally agree to things but then either forget or screwed me over in the end.
2 days before the wedding, nothing was ready. my family and i went to set up chairs and tables but we didn’t know where to put them or what to do since leeann wasn’t there to help.
come wedding day, my dad showed up early to help with the cake, at 11am nothing was set up or decorated and my wedding started at 2pm! leeann was literally decorating as guests were coming in and sitting down.
leeann turned my music off because she personally didn’t like it, she was constantly in the way, and she was very rude to my guests (according to my guests.)
when it was time to eat, leeann put the food away after everyone had one serving, which left me with a lot of food to bring home.
after the ceremony and reception, we were asked to put tables and chairs away and start clean up. this started a big war with leeann because she verbally agreed clean up was to be done by her and whatever minions she had and the package i bought states she cleans all decor and post property. leeann had me and my family do all cleaning. since i was unaware this was to be done, we went back the next day to complete it.
when i tell you this venue was disgusting, not even from my event, i mean it was dirtyyyy.
there was dried mud under areas, alcohol bottles (we didn’t have any alcohol), cigarette butts, tape all over that wasn’t used for my decor, and so much more. the option was to either pay another $800 and have leeann pocket the money since obviously she doesn’t clean or suck it up and clean to get my deposit back.
leeann was very rude and unprofessional. she got upset when i confronted her about the agreement on my package i bought. leeann locked herself in her vehicle to cry then left the facility when my maid of honor i and i found her to talk. speaking of unprofessional, leeann stopped answering my texts and calls so i didn’t know where cleaning supplies were or where some things went. not to mention all of the cleaning supplies were so old and didn’t even work.
leeann didn’t let me bring home the florals I PAID FOR because she said they were post property. leeann then began saying how i didn’t fully pay and i should be thanking her even though i asked her numerous times how much i owe her and what i have left to pay.
i contacted sixteen03 and the owner was also so disgusting and excused all of leeann’s nasty behavior. it was constantly a battle because all these guys did was make excuses. i knew there was no way i would win and i just wanted my deposit back and nothing more to do with this business.
i’m sure there is so much more that went wrong that i’m missing here but please please don’t work with these people. they are disgusting and take advantage of people.
I recently had my wedding there, and was not impressed. We purchased two decoration packages. One for the reception and one for the ceremony. We purchased the most expensive reception package and had to be the ones to hold the venue accountable for the items included in this package. The communication with the coordinator was absolutely terrible. It took her a very long time to respond to emails, and most times she did and address what was asked in the email. Communication wise, things just did not add up. The decorations were very mediocre, and did not resemble the table settings that I had asked for in the pictures and as well as what we had discussed. I had asked for my guest book to be set out as well as meal cards which did not happen so my photographer, other guests and I had to set them up during cocktail hour. Our DJ was also told that it’s not the venues responsibility to move the tables to make room for the dance floor even though they were the venues tables with their decorations on them. They started serving alcohol before ceremony even started, the colors that were used for our wedding did not resemble the colors I had asked for- dusty blue and mauve. She used died roses that were bright blue and baby pink as well as a died brown rose. It was just awful. We had planned to do communion during our ceremony, the coordinator said she had a wine glass for us and would have wine ready however, when the ceremony started, We quickly realized that she did not so we were unable to do the communion. Please keep in mind that due to their liquor license, we were not allowed to bring in our own alcohol, which included the wine, otherwise, I would have done this myself. The entire day was just wack and felt VERY cheap which is so disappointing on your wedding day.
Overall I was not impressed with what we received for the money that we paid. The service was very below average. It felt like a knockoff off sixteen 03 main events instead of another venue owned by them. It was not worth it, just stay away.
Absolutely horrible people to work with, we haven’t even had our wedding yet, and already I wish i had never heard of this place.
