The Preserve at Chocorua was the absolute perfect place for our wedding.
From the moment we toured, we knew this was the venue for us—not just because of the stunning setting, but because of the people. Every single person we worked with was kind, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our wedding weekend special.
One of the biggest reasons we chose the Preserve was how dog-friendly it is. We have two large dogs who are part of our family, and finding a venue that welcomed them (instead of just “allowing” them) was so important to us. The team went above and beyond to make them feel at home—Mary, the owner, even let them follow her around during our stay!
The entire staff was incredible. Sam helped us with the contract and first details, Mary was always available and extremely responsive to any questions we had during the weekend onsite, our day-of planner, Maria, was amazing to work with, and Shayna was wonderful as our venue manager. The grounds and cleaning crew were also so friendly and accommodating. Just one of many standout moments: we asked if there was a way to lock a bedroom door to keep our dogs safely inside, and Paul from the grounds team installed a brand new lock for us. That level of care and attentiveness is something you just don’t find everywhere.
Another example? My grandfather’s favorite drink needed a somewhat obscure ingredient, and I only found out after the fact that Mary had found some in her own house to make sure it was available at the bar.
Our planner, Maria, personally picked up 20 pizzas for our rehearsal dinner because she knew that was our favorite. And on our wedding day, when the wind chill was in the negatives, our assistant planner brought me warm blankets to keep my hands from freezing during outdoor photos.
Beyond the incredible service, the weekend itself was everything we dreamed of. Staying onsite with our closest family and friends made it feel so intimate, and our guests absolutely loved the venue. We enjoyed our rehearsal dinner onsite and then got to enjoy sledding outside on the hill in fresh snow. My brother, who works in food service, loved the industrial kitchen. We got so many compliments—one guest, who has been to hundreds of weddings for work, told us this was one of his favorite venues ever.
The Preserve at Chocorua is beautiful, warm, and full of character, but it’s the people behind it that make it truly special. We can’t imagine having had our wedding anywhere else!!
Where do we even begin… we had our wedding at The Preserve in July and couldn’t be more obsessed with it! It’s the most magical place. Mary and her team made us feel like family throughout the whole planning process and wedding weekend. They were so flexible and generous with anything they had on the property. They have the most organized basement that feels like you’re shopping at a high end store, but instead it’s glassware, tableware, signage, and other decor that they’ve collected or purchased over time at your disposal! “What’s mine is yours” is their mentality if you choose to have a wedding here, which is really rare when it comes to the wedding industry. Despite hosting several weddings here a year, they truly put the time and effort into each couple and made us feel so special and important. The property itself is massive and so so beautiful. We had so many different options for where to host our ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, etc. We ended up having about 70 of our closest friends and family stay on the property and hosted everyone for the entire weekend. Being able to do this made it such a memorable weekend for both us and all our guests. Everyone was saying it felt like an elevated/upscale summer camp with all of your best friends. We were able to go swimming at Lake Chocorua and play lawn games and hang out on the property during the day. We had our rehearsal dinner in the barn (which is stunning) and had our reception in the beautiful Sperry tent which comfortably fit 200 guests. We couldn’t love The Preserve more. It will forever be such a special place to us, and we’re so happy we found it. Thank you to all of the Preserve Team for going above and beyond and making the property and overall experience so spectacular.
Abby and I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful it was to get married at the Preserve. We had the most magical wedding weekend, and truly believe it’s the best venue you could ask for. We’re so happy! Throughout our engagement and planning process, Mary and the Preserve team were so helpful, responsive, and kind, and really made us feel like family! We’re planning to stay in touch for a long time, and feel as though we’ve made friends. If you’re wondering whether you should choose the Preserve for your wedding weekend here is the answer: YES YES YES!
We got married at The Preserve at Chocorua in November 2022 and it will forever be one of the most special places to us! From the moment we first visited, we knew it was going to be the perfect place to begin our marriage. It is truly one-of-a-kind and the team makes you and your guests feel so welcome the entire time. We had our immediate family and bridal party stay on property from Thursday – Sunday of the wedding weekend and it was so wonderful having the space to bring all our loved ones from so many different aspects of life together at TPC. From the barn to the farmhouse and cottages to the grounds, everything is so well-kept and beautiful. For anyone looking to get married in New Hampshire, we cannot recommend The Preserve enough. We look forward to visiting in the years to come and reminiscing on the countless memories made during one of the best weekends of our life. Thank you to Mary, Erica, Sam, and the entire TPC team for making our wedding dreams come true!
After visiting 5 other venues and mentally committing to a Summer or Fall Wedding, we arrived at The Preserve, met with Mary on the porch, and confidently pivoted to Winter and NYE. BEST decision ever. We had the absolute greatest weekend of our lives, and got a lot of “this is the best wedding I’ve ever been to” comments (humble brag).
The Preserve, Mary, Shannon, Paul, and the staff all helped create the perfect Wedding Weekend. From the home cooked meals and everything in between; it felt like a winter weekend reunion away with all of our closest friends and family.
We made the most of the property. We congregated a lot in the pub, the main seating areas, and the porches. My friends and I did a little Barn workout on Friday morning with the provided yoga mats. Given we had a winter wedding, we used the property for photos including the library, pub, porch, and in front of the sap house! Endless moody photo opps.
The “Pinterest Closet” has all the decorative stuff so you don’t need to buy any of that, thank goodness. By the time we would need to buy that stuff, we were glad we didn’t have to.
Arriving on Wednesday was so helpful to get settled in and nest for the weekend ahead. With guests arriving Thursday - Sunday, we had some shifting around to do. They changed all of the sheets and made it effortless to facilitate!
Thursday was such a highlight for our guests staying on site. We had a snowboarding trip at Attitash earlier in the day to kick off the weekend. We also did some sledding in front of the property upon our return. Pro Tip: the toboggan is built to RIDE. When we tired ourselves out from snow sports, Shannon and Mary cooked us the BEST homemade soups and dips on the planet. On the menu we had: Beef Chili, Veggie Chili, and Chicken Barley accompanied with homemade cornbread and bread from scratch. All of our friends were raving about dinner. Not joking, I woke up the next day and the beef chili was my first thought - so tender. The home made dips included buffalo spinach artichoke and french onion dip. It was great to have a nice home cooked meal after doing all of the snow things. Felt very cozy and inviting. People really lived for those vibes as well.
Sunday brunch was also a staple. I’ll probably talk about those quiches for the rest of my life. Others will too. Aside from the quiches, there was also a full spiral ham, pancakes, bacon, biscuits, potatoes, gravy, fruit, breads, yogurt, granola, whipped cream, and home made scones and other desserts. Reminiscing for hours over brunch as people gradually rolled out was the perfect way to cap off the weekend.
Shannon and Mary were just so fantastic and I can’t stop talking about them. They helped get an extra room in the bridal suite together for one of our guests arriving the day of the ceremony. Everyone actually thought it was the best room as they put a fantastic King bed in there and the suite already has a really nice and stocked private bathroom. The guests staying there were staying on their anniversary so it gave them some wedding energy!! They loved it.
We used the Carriage House as the Groomsman House and my husband's friends and significant others really valued having their own space / house. It’s a really nice and spacious house with nice rooms and beds!
I could go on for days but wow what a fantastic experience. SO glad we didn't elope. Thanks so much Mary and team! Cannot wait to see you all again!
If you have the opportunity to book with The Preserve, stop what you are doing and book NOW! Mary and the rest of the staff were so helpful (helpful doesn't even begin to describe it). Having ~50 people with you all weekend sounds like it could be overwhelming, but it is the complete opposite. The houses and cabins are adorable, well maintained and have everything you need (down to sugar!). Each morning you can have group breakfasts, walks on the property, some yard games. Getting ready the day of, the bridal suite was everything you need in a venue. The views are amazing and with so many options to have your ceremony, you do not have to worry about what the New England weather can bring. Leading up to the wedding, The Preserve is amazing working with vendors. No one wanted to leave after my wedding and my friends are already asking when we are going back to be apart of their many events. Booking at the The Preserve was the best decision I could have made! I would book there 1,000 times over if I could! With the addition of using their spaces for your rehearsal dinner and welcome cook outs, you really get it all there!
We’ve put off writing this review for so long because truthfully, there aren’t enough words to describe how The Preserve made us feel. To put it simply, it’s a piece of home for us. From the minute we stepped onto the property for our initial tour, up until now, 3 months post-wedding, we have felt like that place and all of the people that make it are home and family. We fell in love with Mary instantly - she is warm, kind, genuine, grounded and loving. She welcomed us with open arms and showed us and our guests so much kindness throughout our wedding weekend. Every member of her staff welcomed us that same way. They were all willing to drop whatever they were doing and help us with anything we needed, and they did it in an incredibly kind and joyful manner. We hired Erica as our coordinator, and it was the absolute best choice we could have made. She went above and beyond in every way possible. She kept us on track, helped manage all of our details, guided us in the most gentle way, and brought our vision to life. More than that though, she was simply a fantastic human being to work with and get to know. This place is unique and magical - in its people and it’s aura. We could not be more grateful to have found another place to call home and more people to bring into our circle of chosen family.
Literally the most perfect wedding venue we could have ever dreamed up! The owner Mary is one of the kindest and most genuine souls we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Her team with Erica and Carrie made sure our whole weekend went off without a hitch. They helped us fulfill every wish we had for the space, from having my band play for the picnic, to creating a beer tasting with the bride’s father in the barn. Having our friends able to stay on site and party with us made things so much better, and really gave us the time to chat with everyone at our own pace. Don’t hesitate on booking this venue, I can promise you it will surpass your expectations!
The Preserve was literally our dream wedding venue. From rolling beautiful fields to multiple cottages and farmhouses to accommodate guests and host events, everything we could want and need was ON SITE. People joked that it felt like upscale, adult summer camp and it fulfilled our view of an inclusive weekend with our family and friends. Mary and her team were so kind and the site has so much character. We simply cannot overstate how ideal this venue was for our wedding… and hopefully for many many others! Thank you Preserve!!
Thank you, thank you! Can’t say enough wonderful things about the Preserve. The venue is stunning and picture perfect, the location is right near lake Chocorua, and the staff at the Preserve are so kind, thoughtful and truly go above and beyond to make your event perfect. We had the pleasure to get married at the Preserve in July and it was magical. Every step from the first tour to the day the Preserve staff supported us and helped bring our vision to life. Erica and Mary were exceptional and truly cared about making the weekend special for us, our families and guests. The venue itself had everything we could have wanted and more with so many wonderful places to spend time together. Each venue would be a stunning place to have a wedding alone but the Preserve has so many great locations from the sailcloth tent to the showstopper Barn to the outdoor pavilion and more. Being able to have the entire venue Thursday-Sunday made the weekend feel seamless and created beautiful organic moments for guests to enjoy the property together in between the events. Our vision for the wedding was to provide the space and time for our friends and families to be together and the Preserve facilitated that in every way possible! Our guests can’t stop telling us how wonderful the venue was and we keep getting to hear new stories about how they got to enjoy it over the weekend. Besides the stunning amenities, the Preserve staff are just wonderful and kind people. They make you feel right at home and we were continually surprised by their thoughtful touches and elegant details. Also the food they made for our breakfasts was delicious and they were so considerate of a celiac and dairy allergy they made special scones just for those guests. I can’t recommend working with the Preserve enough for any special event; we hope we get to go back for a family reunion or some other event in the future since it was just a dream to be there. Truly a pleasure to work with your team and thank you for making our wedding so magical!
It's hard for me to think about our wedding at the Preserve without crying happy tears. The most thoughtful, patient, kind, and hard working set of AMAZING men and women created an unreal experience and setting for our wedding. We used TPC spaces to house our family and friends, and then for our welcome party, reception dinner, ceremony, reception, and a sledding farewell brunch - and every single detail in TPC's control was perfect. We had the added delight of a very snowy and icy weekend, and Paul (a literal angel?) worked so hard to make sure it was safe and maneuverable for our guests. Mary, Sue, Erica, and the whole team are incredible- we can't believe how lucky we are to have had our wedding weekend touched with your magic.
They stuck with us through pandemic delays, and to be frank, I wasn't the easiest bride to work with while trying to get the re-booking logistics figured out. I regret that, and am so grateful for the patience and grace TPC had through the process.
The housing, bridal salon, decor, unique spaces, and fabulous setting was legitimately stunning. We've not stopped receiving compliments about our venue selection, and are so so excited to recommend it to anyone that will listen.
It's worth every penny, and then some. I hope never to have another wedding, but I deeply wish I had a reason to throw another huge party at The Preserve.
Our wedding here was so magical, no other wedding venue compares. The venue is versatile, private, and naturally gorgeous with all the beautiful flowers and gardens! It felt like home and we never wanted to leave. Our friends and family will still not stop talking about how lucky we are to have found such an incredible venue. Mary and the entire Preserve team put so much work into this amazing property and it shows. Erica and all the staff I communicated with in planning were so helpful and planning was a breeze. Also, it was such a benefit to have the property for the entire weekend and have lodging on site for our closest friends and family-it made a lot of my worries melt away. The Preserve deserves a 10 star review!
My husband & I were set on finding a venue that would allow us to celebrate with our guests for the full weekend, so we were incredibly thankful to find a venue like The Preserve.
The venue itself is gorgeous & we loved how much flexibility it offered.. We were able to design our own wedding weekend however we liked and get as creative as we had time for, and at the Preserve there is no bad option as the venue is just so beautiful.
Something that may go overlooked when booking a venue is the idea of a rain backup for the ceremony. While we did not need one, The Preserve has at least 3 rain backups and all of them are fantastic where truly you would to be "settling" and could even be your first choice.
The other thing I must mention is the brides closet. WOW. The venue has an entire basement of high end decorations (including gorgeous oriental rugs, silk upholstered soft seating, vintage china, beautiful glassware, table decor, vases, the list goes on!). All of this is at your disposal and not only is it fun, but it's also a huge $$ saver when it comes to rentals.
The staff at the Preserve are amazing.. so kind, helpful and accommodating. They are incredibly knowledgeable about the property, vendors in the area and provide a lot of support in the planning piece as well. One thing that surprised me was how much support we had once we were onsite. They take care of set up & clean up effortlessly and are always available if you need help with anything. On Saturday, we took about 40 large inflatables down to the lake and the venue immediately offered to help truck them down in 1 trip when they saw us inflating them! It's been about 5 months since our wedding, and we still feel connected to the staff & the venue.
The last & most important thing I want to mention is how the venue felt during our wedding weekend: like home... and not just to us but to our guests as well. The venue can accommodate ~60 people in comfortable, beautifully designed & well appointed rooms. Leaving the weekend, we started to forget which of our guests knew each other before arriving because it really felt like we were all old friends at that point. Watching friends & family from different paths of our lives exchange numbers and hug each other goodbye on Sunday morning was so special.
All I can say is have your wedding at the Preserve... the feeling cannot be replicated elsewhere.
There's not really a great way to summarize in words how truly amazing of an experience we had at the Preserve. We quickly fell in love with it during our first visit and are so happy that we chose it for our wedding venue. The property is gorgeous with all of its charming event spaces, cottages, and main farm house. We'd consider living there if we could! We loved the versatility of the many buildings and the ability for guests to stay on-site. Since this is a DIY type venue, the flexibility of choices to customize our wedding allowed us so many options. Sometimes that was a little daunting but the staff were great about providing guidance about what's worked well for other weddings, and coordinated really well with all of our vendors. There also are so many decorations and supplies on-site that you can use which was helpful for last minute things we needed. All the staff were wonderful to interact with, very helpful and authentically interested in allowing us to create our own meaningful experience. We could not have asked for a more special wedding experience. We can't wait to visit again in the future!
I wish that I could offer more than a 5-star rating for The Preserve as our experience from when we initially discovered this gem until present day, has been one-of-a-kind. My (now) husband and I were living out in Colorado and searching for a wedding venue that really represented us, but nothing was really piquing our interest until we discovered The Preserve at Chocorua. My mom & sister went to check it out for us and without even being there, we immediately knew this was where we wanted to get married. Beyond the beauty and charm of The Preserve property, we were all amazed at the incredibly kind and helpful communication we had with Mary, Samantha, and Erica to start. We would later meet Paul, Steve, Julia, Ellen & Carrie, who all helped our weekend exceed our expectations.
To set the scene - We booked our October 2021 wedding date very early (back in 2019) which meant we had a long time to plan. However, this didn’t affect any of the communication. Anytime I emailed or texted someone at the preserve, I got almost an immediate response. Beyond just getting a helpful response, the team believed anything was possible, so any request I asked about seemed to be accommodated without hesitation.
Some highlights for us with booking the preserve included: lodging for ~60 guests for the long weekend (in breathtaking New England style rooms), being able to utilize their amazing décor pantry to make our tablescape dreams come to life, several beautiful locations to select from to get married (we got married in the sap house and had our reception in the big barn), full use of their commercial size kitchen (including a walk-in fridge), wood provided to have cozy fires in the pavilion and around the property, beautiful farmhouse tables for dinner and vintage sofas to decorate, outdoor heaters provided, ability to order in advance homemade breakfast items to serve our guests, and their on-site staff that helped us with absolutely anything we needed while we were there. We also utilized their expansive yard to host a day of games with a really fun live band and delicious food truck. They helped us set up and clean up anything we needed and always with a smile! To top it all off, my husband and I were offered the opportunity to stay in our lodging on the property (Veery Cabin) the Sunday after our wedding, once everyone had left. This may not seem like a big deal, but it meant everything to us to be able to spend time saying goodbye to our guests, not have to pack everything up to leave that day and truly soak in the memories. We loved our extra day so much!
With all of that said, the biggest highlight and something that I think will always have us recommending The Preserve was the love we felt. Everyone we met and worked with at The Preserve welcomed us with big open arms and exuded a level of warmth and comfort that you just don’t typically get. We felt like the property was our home away from home over our wedding weekend and that was so special for us.
Our stay was even more magical than I ever imagined it could be. We feel so blessed to have been able to get married at The Preserve at Chocorua! 100% recommend!

What can we say about Mary, Erica, and the entire TPC staff. As soon as my wife and I met Mary for a tour, we immediately felt like a member of her family. She treated us with such respect and love and made us feel right at home. In addition to the wonderful hospitality provided by any staff member we may have come across during our stay, the venue was an absolute dream.
We immediately fell in love with the property and the unique idea of having an entire wedding weekend with all our friends and family in one place. The views at Lake Chocorua, where we did our first look, are stunning. It is on preserved land so we will be able to visit years from now with all its beauty still intact.
The amazing property was the perfect getaway for everyone. While our outdoor ceremony was rained out, The Sap House was the perfect alternative. Erica, the day of wedding coordinator, helped to make the day go smoothly and we can’t thank her enough for all her help.
The Preserve, Mary, Erica, and the entire staff will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

My husband and I recently got married at The Preserve this past June and are still reveling in how amazing our wedding celebration was. The venue is so beautiful in the most majestic setting in the White Mountains. We absolutely loved working with the team especially Erica who was there to support us and help coordinate all the details, big and small. We used the property for the full weekend and was able to offer many different experiences to our guests (Thursday cookout at the manor, Friday welcome party under the sailcloth tent and the wedding on Saturday beneath the arbor and then in the barn. The barn is a gorgeous wedding venue and I loved how the two storied barn looked in photos. The team at the Preserve also has several pieces of furniture and other odds and ends that you are welcome to use which was very helpful. The manor is fully stocked everything you could need and their presence over the course of the weekend was very comforting. I can't tell you how many compliments we received from our guests on the venue and wedding weekend in general. The TPC team provided various personal touches that made our wedding planning process even more exciting. They were so thoughtful and made us feel special from beginning to end. Thank you Mary, Sam, and Erica for helping us create the wedding of our dreams!
My husband and I got married on August 28th and it was the most amazing weekend of our lives!! Mary, Erica, Sam, Jodi, and the entire team at The Preserve are genuine people who were always willing to help leading up to and throughout our wedding weekend!! We truly felt like we were at home at the property and loved having our friends and family stay with us there to celebrate our wedding day and spend time together over the whole weekend. We took full advantage of what the property had to offer, using the barn, sail cloth tent, farmhouse, and games (Mary even helped us to create a small 4 hole pitch and putt golf course). The details they have put into the room decor and natural flowers on the property are just beautiful- you don’t even need to decorate!! We absolutely loved the option to borrow TPC items such as vases, signs, napkins, and so much more to decorate for all of our events! Our vendors constantly said it was their favorite venue by far- and we agree 100%!!!
Where to start?! My husband and I were married Labor Day Weekend and needless to say it was the BEST day of our lives! We enjoyed the entire weekend on the grounds, utilizing all the amenities (fire pits, yard games, sail cloth tent for rehearsal dinner, barn for reception, the list goes on and on...) and on top of that, everything was already set up. TPC does so much work so you don't have to. The grounds are immaculately maintained, so little decorations were needed, but if you DO need decorations, they have an entire Pinterest room to do whatever you please -- total bonus. They completely translated our dreams into reality! I can't tell you how many compliments we received from our guests on this place and we have to say we totally did it right! Even our vendors talked about how much they love working here.
Thank you TPC for making us feel like family. We worked with Erica, Sam, and Mary and all made us feel SO comfortable with the planning process and kept us smiling big!! We are already planning our trip back for our one year anniversary.
Think no further, this is the the most magical NH venue there is!
My wife and I hosted our wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua in July 2021. Everything about the venue was perfect and could not have been better.
The property itself is gorgeous and spacious and includes multiple spaces for events. We had a welcome party under the pavilion, our rehearsal dinner in the tent and reception in the barn.
On top of that, the property has room for ~60 guests to stay for the long weekend, which added valuable time for us to spend with family and friends. Having the property for Thursday - Sunday was a huge benefit that really made the entire weekend.
And finally, Mary, Erica, and the rest of the staff at The Preserve are so incredibly helpful, kind, and fun. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and really took a lot of the stress out of both the planning as well as the weekend itself.
In summary, I could not recommend a better venue for a wedding. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate to make the same choice every single time.
I contacted many different venues for my daughter's wedding and I can't express how happy we are that we came to the Preserve. The property is beautiful. It was so clean and comfortable. The barn is spectacular! What is most special are Mary and Erica. My goodness, I've never felt so welcome anywhere. They took care of our every need and made sure we were happy. We had a brunch the morning after the wedding - the food was so delicious and the set up was lovely. I would do this again with them in a heartbeat! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
We can't say enough great things about the Preserve! We loved staying on the property for the weekend with our entire family and closest friends. Everyone was raving about how beautiful it was and how much fun they had! Mary, Erica and Sam were amazing in accommodating us and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly for us. We were so sad to leave when it was over. By the end of the weekend it really felt like our second home. It was honestly the best weekend of our lives! Having a wedding during covid was definitely a challenge but they made it feel so clean and safe the entire time and it was certainly spacious enough to allow for social distancing. I would highly recommend to anyone, its a wedding experience like no other!
My husband and I got married at The Preserve August 2020. Everything about the venue was amazing! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we elected to delay our wedding a few months - the TPC team was incredible throughout the entire re-planning process. Sam, Mary, and Erica (and the entire Preserve staff) were extremely organized and went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend run smoothly. Erica even helped us run our rehearsal the evening before and stepped in to help with so many last minute details! The grounds are absolutely magnificent throughout every season (we know this because the Preserve allowed us to make many trips to visit throughout the planning process)! All of our guests continue to talk about the accommodations and how much they enjoyed their stay. The Preserve staff works so hard to keep the venue and rooms pristine. In addition, amidst COVID-19 precautions The Preserve was extremely prepared with sanitizing stations, and the large grounds made it very easy for social distancing. The opportunities are endless when hosting a wedding at The Preserve - we utilized the barn and tent for our reception and ceremony. The groomsmen utilized the sap house for getting ready, while the girls were pampered in the amazing bridal suite! The venue also has an ENTIRE room full of décor that we used for both the rehearsal dinner and reception. We loved working with the entire team at TPC - the venue is family run and treat their couples like part of that family. We would highly recommend The Preserve in a heartbeat!!
Mary, Erica, Sam, Jodi and the entire Preserve team can’t be beat. In the wedding industry, they say everyone is nice, but this amazing team blew us away with their kindness, flexibility, communication and openness. From the moment I spoke with Sam to schedule a tour and talk about booking the venue, to the last interaction with Mary driving away after our wedding weekend (our car battery died and we needed a jump), we felt like family.
We booked the date and venue prior to COVID-19, and are so happy that we ultimately chose them. Pandemic or not, the venue has all of the space necessary to adequately and comfortably accommodate and distance our on-property and day-of guests in a way that felt purposeful. The gorgeous barn, sap house and the pavilion were perfect for the entire weekend use and all of the guests kept raving about how perfect the property was.
The perks of this venue go beyond its space and beauty. The on property accommodations were extremely comfortable, with many of our guests spending some extra quality time in the library near the fire. Beds, sheets and towels were all very cozy. The bridal closet includes so many wonderful decor items - it’s like an Etsy dream room. The beautiful farmhouse tables, benches and soft seating gave us the cozy vibe we wanted. I could go on for a while!
The team went above and beyond to accommodate all of my requests and respond to my concerns regarding having a wedding celebration during COVID. They were very well versed in the most up-to-date guidelines, and always had solutions to potential problems. The team worked seamlessly with all of the vendors to ensure everyone had a safe and wonderful time.
We cannot recommend The Preserve at Chocorua enough. We will hold the venue and the entire staff in our hearts forever.
We had the most wonderful wedding weekend at The Preserve! Mary, Jodi, Sam, Erica and the team made every part so easy. From accommodating our guests, to endless changes due to covid, they made our experience so effortless and special! Cleanliness and safety was obviously a priority with sanitation stations at every turn.
Mary and the team were so attentive to our needs while still giving us room to be with our family and friends.
We were so lucky to choose a venue that cared about us as a couple and our unique experience. They made us feel so special with sweet notes and thoughtful gifts along the way. Our wedding went from small to tiny and my entire bridal party couldn’t travel to be at our day, but that couldn’t stop them from being part of the celebration. Mary helped my maid of honor gift a sweet champagne and rose petal surprise in our room on our wedding night. Above and beyond on every level!
We cannot wait to visit the Preserve again soon!
The Preserve at Chocorua is truly a special place. Not only is it unbelievably beautiful (in every season!), but the family and team that runs the property are some of the best people I have met. They are kind, compassionate, amazing at details, and so helpful. My wedding would not have been perfect without them. If you have a chance to get married here, DO IT. It is worth every penny and more.
A few highlights:
- Over 60 people can stay on site and there is plenty for them to do from fire pits to volleyball and lawn games to just wandering the beautiful grounds. We got to spend so much time with our guests over the 4 days and every single person has said they want to book it again in 5 years as a family reunion to do it all again!
- The spaces available: you get the entire property to yourself and guests so you can use every single space for the cost of one venue. That meant for us when COVID hit, we could totally rearrange the weekend to have everything outside and still have our 150 person wedding of our dreams safely.
- The rooms, personal touches, and hospitality: All guests were welcomed with fresh flowers in their room and bath products. They even gave us a beautiful gift ready in our suite when we got there. ANYTHING we needed throughout planning and the weekend the staff was there for.
- The mission : The Preserve does more than just weddings, they have restored all buildings on site, host community events regularly, and support the Tamworth community and local businesses. I said it when I first visited the property, I want to get married here and give them my money because it is not just a wedding venue, it is a community. We plan on coming back to visit and attend events in the future.
- Their reputation: Almost all of my vendors had done weddings at The Preserve before and they all shared that it was their favorite venue to work at. Having vendors that know the property is not necessary but it made my weekend so much easier since they all knew the ins and outs of The Preserve.
The Preserve is amazing and I can't believe we were lucky enough to get married here.
My husband and I can't recommend The Preserve at Chocorua enough. We had an incredible four days of wedding activities with our closest friends and family there over July 4th weekend, 2019.
The family who runs the venue are incredibly warm, loving, caring, generous, and helpful in any way you could possible need. They really want you to have the best time ever. We were even surprised that they left individually wrapped home-baked cookies in each guest bedroom with fresh cut flowers - what a lovely and welcoming touch for our guests!
The venue itself is picture perfect for an outdoor or indoor wedding (our outdoor wedding turned indoors due to an unexpected rainstorm). There are multiple different sites on the property for the ceremony and cocktail hour and dinner for you to choose from, all with their own unique charm. The accommodations on the property (up to 60+) are also very well maintained, rustic, but with excellent design touches and our guests loved them! The landscaping is remarkable with plenty of wildflowers, greenery, and color all around the property.
It does take quite a bit of extra planning since everything is BYO but, as long as you're willing to think through all those details, it really was the most magical wedding to have our nearest and dearest stay on site for four days as it really brought everyone together like we never expected. 💕
As a wedding planner, I work at a lot of venues and I have so many couples looking for "hidden gems" that can host them and their guests for an entire weekend, provide a stunning setting for their ceremony and reception, and that is also close to fun things for everyone to do. The Preserve at Chocorua hit the nail on the head, and then some. There truly is something so magical about this entire venue, and during a wedding there I recently planned and designed, every guest and vendor was raving about how special it was. It was so much for them to be able to stay on site in the guest rooms and cottages, and they felt so at home in the Mock Manor House and the barn's event space. From a planning perspective, the entire team at the Preserve is so kind, warm, and helpful - you truly can't ask for better. The couple and I loved getting to choose from the Preserve's inventory of decor and furniture pieces, and everything came together perfectly. I cannot recommend this venue enough - I hope to be back there again soon!
Everything Was Perfect
I am at a loss for words regarding the incredible experience we had at my daughter and son-in-laws wedding a few weeks ago at the Preserve at Chocorua. As my daughter said "everything was perfect! " Many of the guests described it as one of the best weddings they had attended. It's a unique venue where you get the use of the whole property and all of its spaces for three nights and four days. Our entire family, the wedding party and a few friends were able to stay on the property which allowed guests to hang together for the weekend. It made the event more intimate and personal and provided the exact experience the bride and groom were looking for. THANK YOU so so much to Sam, Mary, Erica and all the many other wonderful people at the Preserve who were so easy to work with and made this mother of the bride look like she knew what she was doing ;-). You will forever be a part of our daughters and son-in-laws love story and remembered for your kindness, patience, hospitality and wealth of knowledge on how to plan a four day event. Again, THANK YOU THANK YOU for helping us give our daughter and her husband their fairy tale wedding. The venue and more importantly the people of the Preserve at Chocorua are absolutely the best and will forever be in our hearts.
As soon as we stepped out on our first visit to The Preserve, we knew within minutes it was going to be our wedding venue. The grounds are without a doubt some of the prettiest we have seen. The landscape, the flowers, the cottages, and last but certainly not least the beautiful barn. We got married in August at the Preserve and despite rain on our wedding day, we had the most memorable weekend with friends and family. Mary, Samantha, and Erika are the nicest, most accommodating people you will ever work with and I can’t thank them enough for how much they did for us. The Preserve really is a bride's planning dream. Want an outdoor wedding? The property is gorgeous. Want to have a huge wedding under a sail cloth tent? They have that too. Oh and when thunderstorms threaten your original plan of having it under that amazing tent, don’t worry you can put all your groomsmen to work and host your reception in a stunning barn. Every time my husband and I went to the Preserve we fell more in love with it and it was even better hearing how much our family and friends shared that love for it after our wedding. We truly cannot wait to go back and visit and can’t recommend it enough :)
There are no words to describe how truly magical the Preserve is. From the first day we saw the property and met the team we we're 100% on board. The Preserve provided the exact experience we were looking for and more and it now holds such a special place in our hearts. There are so many options for event spaces and the size of the property allowed us to accomplish everything we had hoped from bonfires to frisbee golf to volleyball. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to Mary, Samantha, Erika and the entire crew for everything. You are all rockstars and we were so lucky to have found you.
Having our wedding at the Preserve was an absolute dream come true.
The best decision we made about our wedding was to have it at the Preserve, and we knew it was 'the one' as soon as we began our tour. We couldn't stop smiling and looking at each other and saying "Oh my god". If you're looking to create a whole weekend event for you and your guests, and you want the love and support of an amazing staff and to have it on a stunning piece of land with beautiful buildings, look no further.
The whole Preserve team, from Mary who showed us around the first day and was the last to hug us goodbye to Sam who answered a million contract questions, to Mary's granddaughter who provided some day-of babysitting, to Erica who spent hours on the phone with me ahead of the big day and supported us throughout the entire weekend., this was a family affair and the Preserve family came through. This crew is there to help support you, your family, and your vision.
The venue itself is also remarkable. Having over 50 of our guests stay onsite made for a whole weekend's worth of fun. We used the barn for the main event, the pavilion for cocktails, the tent for a welcome dinner, the sap house for the afterparty snacks... no part of this property went unused, and we had so much fun planning it. We (barely) worried when the forecast looked like rain because we knew there were enough places on the property that would let us have an amazing experience.
Yes, it is more work to customize every element of the wedding and choose everything from scratch, but it will make your event so personal and special that it is worth it. If we were to get married all over, I'd choose The Preserve in a heartbeat.
My husband (!) Sean and I celebrated our wedding at the Preserve at Chocorua on November 10, 2018. Our loved ones are scattered across the country, and we wanted to spend as much time together as possible during our weekend. The Preserve was the most perfect place to do that. Our closest friends and family stayed on the property in the beautiful farmhouse and cozy cottages, and other guests stayed nearby in Meredith or North Conway. We hiked Mt. Chocorua on Friday morning, and then hosted a big welcome party in the farmhouse on Friday night as the snow fell outside. All the girls got ready in the lovely bride room on Saturday morning for our nearby church ceremony. When we walked into the barn for our reception on Saturday night, the scene was more perfect than I had ever imagined. We closed the weekend with a Sunday brunch for all our guests, who could not stop raving about the Preserve. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff (Mary, Ed, Sam, Carolyn and others)! They not only answered our many questions during the planning process, but they also made us feel us feel so welcome and special during the wedding weekend. The Preserve was something out of a dream, and we were so lucky to begin our married life there with everyone we love!
Our wedding was September 15, 2018 and we could not have asked for a better venue! Not only is The Preserve a place where you can have your closest friends and family together for the whole weekend, the staff and owners make you feel so special and well taken care of! We had a BLAST and cannot say enough amazing things about The Preserve. The 26 acre property was perfect for our friends and family to explore, sit and read, enjoy bon fires, and then have intimate meals while getting to blend our families together. Mary, Ed, Carolyn, Sam and the whole Preserve Family are so caring, thoughtful, genuiene people. We are so thankful to all of them for ensuring our special weekend was the best of our lives :)
The Preserve is New Englands hidden gem wedding venue. My husband and I got married at the Preserve in August and all I can say is, the Preserve is magical. Starting with the absolutely stunning grounds, gardens, gorgeous areas for photos. The main reception barn on the property is absolutely gorgeous. It is an elegant, first class space with history and old world charm throughout. The property has multiple small cottages and a main inn where over 50 guests can stay the weekend. Beautifully designed interiors, Martha Stewart vibes. Lake Chocorua and Mount Chocorua are minutes away for unbelievable photos and first look locations. The owners Mary and Ed are WONDERFUL people who go above and beyond to ensure that everything is perfect for you. I almost cant find the correct words to describe how amazing this venue is! If your looking for a venue, stop here. You have found the best spot in New Hampshire!!
My husband and I got married at the Preserve this past June, and we can not say enough good things about our entire experience. Mary, Ed and Sam are all so wonderful, as was everyone in the Preserve family. We wanted our wedding to feel like a laid-back, relaxed long weekend with all of our friends and family right there, and the Preserve delivered everything we wanted and more. You can stay on the property from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon, and there is space for about 55 guests to stay as well (and dogs!). The town of Tamworth is really adorable, and there is also space to host basically all wedding events on the property. From a rehearsal dinner cookout, to pancake breakfasts in the farmhouse, to lying in the hammock the morning of my wedding watching loved-ones wander in and out of the house, the entire experience was everything we had dreamed of. We got married right on the property in front of the farmhouse, and had our reception in the beautiful new Sperry tent (there is also a new barn that is now up), and it was absolutely perfect. My only regret is that we couldn't stay forever! Thank you Preserve!
The Preserve is a truly unique destination in which to hold your wedding festivities. The property itself is amazing, allowing you to select from multiple options for rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and reception sites. The ability to host up to 55 of your guests and the Thursday to Sunday rental allows you to spend ample time with your friends/family and space out the weekend festivities. The rooms/cottages are clean and beautifully decorated. Mary, Ed, and Samantha are amazing to work with. Mary and Ed were totally hands on throughout the weekend, making sure our guests were comfortable, the grounds were clean, and that we had every possible thing we needed. Additionally, they are truly wonderful people and a pleasure to work with. They became friends throughout the process and made it feel like our wedding was the only one they hosted and/or cared about. Our guests loved the property and we were told multiple times throughout the weekend what a special location it was. My wife and I can't recommend The Preserve strongly enough. You must visit, meet with Ed, Mary, and Samantha, and there is no doubt that you will see the magic the property possesses. Mary, Ed, and Samantha helped to make our wedding weekend and absolute success and one that we will look back upon fondly for years to come.
Imagine a place where your closest family and friends can unplug and relax in a picturesque setting in the NH White Mountains to celebrate your wedding weekend. The Preserve at Chocorua does this in spades.
We had our wedding on September 16th and the venue far surpassed our expectations. You rent the venue from Thursday to Sunday with access to a large Inn, multiple cottages and a large house that sleeps up to 50ish people. Mary and Ed who manage the property, are very kind and responsive to any needs you have while you were there.
There are multiple places to hold a ceremony and a large barn that seats over 200 people for your reception. The best part about our experience was having a place for family and friends to join us for a weekend and participate in the event such as making welcome flower bouquets with vases found in the wedding vault which has all sorts of things you can borrow for your event.
You source your own catering which allows you to customize the event to your liking. You are not bound to any list which is uncommon. We used multiple local caterers for rehearsal dinner, reception and brunch. They have a large kitchen in the Inn which you can use for breakfast or let your guests explore the local area full of farmers markets, quaint shops or go a few miles to North Conway for outlet shopping. This place needs to be seen to be believed.
The venue is stunning and will provide you and your guests a unique experience they will not forget.
We had our wedding on May 20th at The Preserve at Chocorua and it was the best venue ever!! We loved working with Mary, Ed, and Samantha throughout the planning process. We stayed on site from Thursday through Sunday which made for a fantastic wedding weekend. Mary and Ed were available and extremely helpful for me as somewhat of a DIY bride. The preserve is very comfortable for all of your guests to stay, it is lovely and very well kept. You can make your wedding weekend exactly what you envision. Ours was very warm, inviting, and personal. Our dogs were a part of our ceremony, and even though they were allowed to stay there I didn't want them to, so Mary found us many options for them to be taken care of. Mary also found us babysitters for our guests with kids and places for us to order food for breakfast and lunch on our wedding day. The Preserve at Chocorua made our dream wedding possible and I cannot recommend them enough!!! I wish I could live our wedding weekend over and over again, it was absolutely magical.

My daughter had her wedding on June 11th at the Preserve. It was the most amazing wedding ever. A perfect venue where we had family and friends for three days and the full use of the property that slept 60. The barn was a magical place for the reception and we used the charming sap house for the grooms dinner. The owners Mary and Samantha could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Highly recommend for your special day.
