Facilities and Capacity
The Press Room has adventure around every corner, there are so many interesting places to explore, there is no way anyone could get bored! The Press Room is full of beautiful décor and styled rooms that make for fantastic pictures. With four main event spaces and plenty of rooms in between there is plenty of space for guests to wander. There are two on site changing suites, one of which includes a private powder room. Great natural lighting fills the event space and as soon as the sun goes down warm, dimmable chandeliers and Edison lights create a beautiful glow.
Services Offered
Included are tables and chairs for 200 guests as well as 20 bistro tables, these come with house linens of your choice in a variety of colors. Max capacity is 300 guests, cocktail style. The glass and barware is included and you will receive excellent service from our sister company Jonz Catering. They know the space well and have an extensive menu that is fit for all taste buds. There are plenty of food options as well as a bar plan that works best for you. The location could not get much better, right in the heart of downtown there are five hotels within walking distance as well as an abundance of great restaurants and bars. Right outside is a beautiful view of the Puget Sound in addition to the vibrant colors and sights of Opera Alley!

I recently had my wedding at your venue and I cannot say enough good things about it. The space was absolutely stunning and provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. From the beautiful decor to the impeccable service, everything was perfect.
I also have to give a special shoutout to Jennifer, our wedding coordinator. She was amazing from start to finish. Jennifer was so attentive to our needs and made sure that every detail was taken care of. She went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect and I am so grateful for all of her hard work.
Overall, I could not have asked for a better wedding venue and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and stress-free wedding experience. Thank you to Jennifer and the entire team for making our day so memorable.
What an amazing venue for our recent wedding! There is so much history, character and charm to The Press Room and you can tell that Linda and her team took great care into curating such a lovely space. It was absolutely perfect for our wedding - we had many of our guests review how fantastic of a space it was and we ourselves felt like it hit all the marks. Jenn, the Venue Director was so responsive, easy to work with, understanding of our vision for our event and helped keep us on track for a great wedding. Linda was also a pleasure to work with and Kelly on the catering side of things was also great. We were able to have a live band for our wedding, the food was fantastic, we appreciated how much of the tear down they did at the end of the night and how welcoming they were of our vendors. All I can say is 10 out of 10, would it again! If you are looking for a charming and interesting venue that you and your guests will enjoy, look no further. :)
Linda and her staff were outstanding to work with. Her venue is so unique and charming. As a DJ for a recent wedding that was help at the Press Room, Linda and her talented staff made my job go so smoothly. Linda is easy to talk to, flexible in making all the vendors feel comfortable and welcoming. I hope to work with her and her staff again in the future. I highly recommend Linda and The Press Room venue for your next event.

The Press Room was a great place for our wedding. The space is obviously beautiful, but the food was delicious and the staff was incredibly helpful. They had an event person present to help the coordination of our set up and the venues, and they did all the teardown for the tables/chairs/linens so we didn't have to worry about that at the end of the night. We loved our special day there, and would highly recommend The Press Room to others looking for a hands-on venue!
The Press Room was such a fantastic venue! From the moment we walked in we had a feeling it was the perfect place for our wedding reception! The staff were so helpful in the planning process and even better on the day of! They know how to host an event! Everyone loved the aesthetic! They will take care of you! And their caterer Jonz Catering was delicious!
Long story short, had wedding cards stolen when I thought they’d be secure in the provided locked mailbox. It was super heart breaking. The full story is on Google reviews. Overall a handful of cards that we know of, (likely more that we don’t know of) came up missing from the secure mailbox and it’s been made clear that the owner doesn’t know who collected the cards at the end of the night after she said she would be the one but said she left in the middle of the reception to attend another event leaving no one in charge. Overall just heartbreaking and awkward and the only reason I’m leaving a negative review because it shouldn’t have happened to me, and it shouldn’t happen to anyone else.
Had the cards been left out on a table I would have taken full responsibility for them missing but the mailbox was supposed to be safe. I’m out at the very least $600 and really sad to have those sentiments in the cards lost.
Jonz catering is their exclusive catering which I definitely recommend understanding their price points per person before booking. The food was amazing but very expensive per person compared to western washington. Disappointed no one got seconds and we didn’t get any to take home as it was swiftly cleaned up and disappeared.
Really pretty venue that’s mostly decorated which made it easy. Only brought centerpieces and arch decor and a few other items. Great spaces for some artsy photos and the owner let us tour the venue multiple times during our planning.
I would book again but absolutely wouldn’t book without a coordinator or trusted family member to be in charge of gifts. Or perhaps do the wedding insurance rider to insure wedding gifts.

ter you believed they had gone missing. Had we been alerted immediately, we could have done a timely search of the venue and reached out to the next event to see if they had found any cards or other items that were not theirs. Additionally, we have security surveillance footage that could have been reviewed before it was automatically erased after 30 days.
We have held hundreds of events at our venue and have never had an incident or accusation of stolen items. We take any accusation of such an act very seriously. To that end, we have put in place new protocols when emptying the mailbox and checking the venue for all items left behind.
As a wedding DJ I can say the press room is not only a venue but an experience. The owner clearly cares about the space and the client experience. Great space for a dance floor and photo booth. Plenty of bars around the are for afterparty!

The press room is a wonderfully eclectic venue! Linda was very communicative during the whole process and everything was discussed up front. She made sure the whole process went smoothly without a hitch. Her attention to detail and preparation was spot on and it made for a comfortable wedding environment.
There are a couple of caveats that need to be considered when looking at The Press Room for a venue. First was parking - there is available free parking but because it is in downtown Tacoma, it is slim pickings sometimes. The parking companies to rent out a parking lot are terrible communicators and they could not verify that I had reserved a lot no matter how many times I sent messages.
Second, Jonz Catering is the exclusive caterer for the venue. The menu is all online. If food is a sticking point for you then you must reach out to Linda as soon as the new year starts or you will miss the tasting opportunity.
Neither one of these items were deal breakers for us. We found adequate parking and the menu was changed often to cater to allergens that we had in the guest list. The allergy list had kind of made our food decisions for us. Regardless, we were pleasantly surprised by the spread and all of our guests enjoyed it.
The venue includes just about everything one would require for hosting a party. The only items we needed to bring were decorations for the archway (which was provided), centerpieces, and photo booth.
Finally, if you are getting married here, they also a little ceremony where the venue gives you one of the old keys to the venue, which was previously the Tacoma Tribune printing press, and have the bride and groom tie the key to the wall along with the other couples whom were wed there.
One other thought. The venue is dog friendly!
We absolutely loved the venue and we would choose Linda and The Press Room again if we had to do it all over again.
I had so many compliments from my guest all night about this venue! Everyone absolutely loved the history and look! It was an absolutely pleasure working with Linda and Emma. They were amazing and so helpful!
