Desert Modern Event Space Near Austin
Unabashedly contemporary, The Rackhouse at Desert Door nonetheless features many of the warm, rustic touches that make up the Hill Country aesthetic - we call it Desert Modern. One of the first things you’ll notice when you enter the space is the dramatic 28-foot bar that runs virtually the length of the room. Spacious, with soaring 20-foot ceilings, The Rackhouse can hold as many as 75 or be configured with the appropriate seating and lighting to deliver a more intimate experience. Because of its straightforward rectangular layout, The Rackhouse is infinitely flexible.
We highly recommend you consider making a private distillery tour part of your event. And in case you were wondering, yes, sotol makes amazing cocktails - hence the line at the door to our Tasting Room on the weekends. Feel free to inquire about our bar packages.
The Rackhouse at Desert Door comprises two spaces - the main Rackhouse room and the Rackhouse Patio. They can be rented independently or together. A pair of massive steel and glass doors join the two spaces. While we are adjacent to a distillery, the Rackhouse is a quiet space with its own private entrance and is closed to the general public - only you and your guests will have access.

From our very first inquiry to the big day, Jessica was professional, supportive, and always responsive to our questions, offering thoughtful ideas from her extensive experience. What we appreciated most was how seamless she made the entire process. From setup to tear-down, delivering exceptional service and drinks, and regularly checking in with us, she/they exceeded every expectation. We’re so grateful to have had such an incredible team as part of our happily ever after!
We used the Rackhouse at Desert Door for our rehearsal lunch. It is a beautiful venue space both inside and out. Inside we had catering provided. Outside we set up corn hole and really loved using that area. It was a beautiful day. Jessica was great to work with. Cocktails were delicious. Highly recommend.

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. Leading up to the big day, it was so easy to keep track of all the details thanks to the user friendly client portal. We really appreciated how communicative, thoughtful, and patient Jessica was throughout the whole process. She answered every question promptly and professionally. On the day of, our vendors were blown away by how amazing Jessica and her team were to work with. The bartender and staff made sure my husband and I stayed hydrated and got to enjoy the beautifully crafted cocktails we chose. Guests couldn't stop talking about the venue and how it facilitated such an intimate and personal event experience. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Jessica, the event coordinator, went above and beyond to make every detail perfect, ensuring that the entire event flowed seamlessly. Staff professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence were evident in every interaction.

This was our favorite wedding vendor!
Jessica was there for us the entire step of the way. She was so so quick to respond to emails and, as we got closer to wedding day, she made sure all of the finer details were sorted and organized. We had just under 60 people at our wedding and this was the perfect size venue. There was rooom to move around but we didn't have too much open space. The venue also matched our wedding aesthetic so well (boho-chic) and our engagement and wedding photos at the venue came out so great! They're super accommodating with decor as well to help our final vision come out exactly as we wanted it.
Even though it was chilly and a little rainy, we had no complaints about the weather given that the venue has fans, heaters, and a covered ceremony space to accommodate most weather conditions.
We did an open bar with three signature cocktails and it was so affordable and all of our guests loved the drinks. We cannot say enough good things about Jessica and Desert Door and can't wait to stop by for a visit!

I wish I could give them ten stars. I just love this place so much. We had our rehearsal dinner in the rack room with food catered from the food truck out front. Not only is this such a cool venue every person that works there is just wonderful. I felt like I have know them for years and they are all so accommodating and professional. From start to finish this was a ten for me. Now what can I plan here for our next event 😊

My husband and I booked the Desert Door for our New Year’s Eve wedding and we are so glad that we did. Jessica, the event coordinator, was amazing to work with and she was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The space has an amazing chic desert vibe plus the drinks are delicious. The staff the night of our party went above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoyed their night. We are so thankful we decided to book this space and we HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.
My husband and I discovered Desert Door Distillery when we moved to Austin and immediately fell in love! Sotol is a special and unique liquor and the distillery really knows how to make delicious cocktails to showcase the sotol. The tasting room and event space are so beautifully done and is unlike other venues in the Hill Country. We had our wedding reception at the distillery and Jessica was so helpful and supportive of all of our ideas. We were able to bring in live music, a food truck and create an intimate space for our guests to enjoy each other's company. Everyone we interacted with at Desert Door during the planning process and during the reception were so kind and helpful. I highly recommend hosting your rehearsal dinner, reception or other party at Desert Door. Your guests will be talking about what a great time they had for a long time!
Our experience at Desert Door was unbelievable! We got married in June 2020 and had to change our plans drastically about 30 days before our date. As in... we live in Iowa and decided to move our wedding to Texas last minute!
Jessica and the entire DD staff were incredible! Jessica went above and beyond to help us book our new vendors and a lot of our guests commented on how friendly, professional, and fun the entire DD staff was. When we look back on our day, there isn't a single thing we would change, and we cherish the entire experience.
Side note... our photos from the venue are BEAUTIFUL, and the drinks are AMAZING. We can't wait to come back and visit soon!!
Okay so I got married at Chapel Dulcinea on 2/25/21 and had my reception at Desert Door. This was not my initial plan as my venue canceled on me and I had to replan everything in 24 hours. It was incredibly stressful but I have have say- I feel so thankful the universe lead me to Jessica at Desert Door! She was compassionate, responsive, detailed and even all of my guests raved about how sweet and attentive she and the rest of the staff at Desert Door were. I will probably for the rest of my life remember Jessica and everyone at Desert Door SAVING my wedding and it making it everything I didn't know I wanted! If you are getting married and want a unique venue with a great value, please consider Desert Door! The space is absolutely stunning and seriously- JESSICA AND HER TEAM ARE ANGELS!!!! ❤ I am so incredibly thankful for Desert Door and can't wait to spend my wedding anniversaries with a Desert Door Paloma! Thank you thank you thank you. The day wouldn't have been the same without this little gem, Jessica, and the rest of the Desert Door team.
Oh My Goodness!!! This place is an absolute hidden gem! It's very close to Austin and Dripping Springs, it's even a gorgeous drive! I can't say enough about the location - it's just the PERFECT Texas hill country space. Plentiful indoor and outdoor space, all decorated beautifully. Especially at night with the lights. If you go with the food truck that's there - the food is AMAZING, all out guests raved about it at the event and have told me how much they loved it since. The drinks are A++. I'm SUPER picky when it comes to cocktails and these were just awesome. And the best part is truly THE SERVICE! Talk about Texas hospitality - everyone was so kind, so attentive, so responsive. I can't say enough about this place - we're going back as soon as we can because it's just truly an all around spectacular experience!
