My wedding was absolutely beautiful. We always dreamt of a rustic barn wedding and that is exactly what we got! The staff was always on top of things, the venue was beautifully decorated and organized, and The owner was always there when I needed her. The animals added a perfect touch to the venue. We got married outside at their pond and then went inside their beautiful barn to celebrate. My family had such a good time that they have been returning each year for kids birthday parties, fall festivals, and Christmas with Santa. If I can do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
This venue is stunning! I have been a part of two weddings here now, and I barely have words. It is lovingly run by the owners, who also are operating a small farm on the premises. It feels like you are far away from the city, but its location just outside of Redmond is great for a venue like this. The restored barn is incredibly beautiful and welcoming. The outdoor ceremony site sits on the edge of a "natural swimming pool" and looks back toward the barn and silo. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding here and everything went off without a hitch. It was a nearly 200 person event. Parking, flowers, food, set-up, was all top notch! If you are looking for a family run rustic outdoor scenic venue less than a 1 hour drive from the city, I don't think you can get better than this. If I had any desire to get married, I would do it here, even though I live in LA! That's no joke!
I don't know if I have enough words to fully articulate my positive experience at The Red Barn Farm. I'll start with the obvious, the property is beautiful and has been lovingly restored to it's 1920's glory and all this is done by the husband and wife owners (John and Chelsea). Which leads me to my next point, the level of involvement from John and Chelsea. They truly go above and beyond what any other venue would do and truly are a hands on team to try and make the day as special as possible. Chelsea ended up acting as our de facto Day of Coordinator and did her very best to make sure my fiance and I were not bothered by any of the setup and free to relax before we took the plunge! John was also ever present to make sure we had everything we needed, in place and in time for our wedding, including hanging decorations, setting up the bar and making sure the place looked great! We had a blast and a lot of it was due to the energy and poise brought to bear by those two, it truly is amazing to have the owners of a venue on hand and ready to help when possible. I would recommend this venue for any event, without hesitation.
This was a disappointing experience for us. We were looking for a quaint, close-by location to get married this past August. The Red Barn Farm was definitely a beautiful venue that fit that bill.
However, after the experience we had, I wished we would have chosen a different location due to a number of reasons.
The owner did NOT show, or was 90 minutes late, for the vendor and final walk through meetings - our only two meetings prior to the wedding. Any communication with the owner required both my husband and I to follow-up repeatedly via phone/text/cell to get some sort of response.
The day of the wedding, we arrived at our contracted time, only to find the venue in total disarray and dirty from an event the night before.
It took a dozen of our adult family members 2-3 hours of working alongside the owners to get the venue ready.
While the owners apologized and promised to "make it right" with reducing our final total, they ended up offering a $60 deduction for our inconvenience.... this is on a $4250 Friday venue rental. Completely unacceptable for the stress and extra work required on our part.
Our caterer couldn't use the barn's kitchen, as she said it was too dirty to be used for food prep.
We also found out right before the wedding that the kitchen sink is actually not hooked up to water or a drain. There was no food-safe water source in the barn; just an outdoor hose. We also had to ask to have a very full cat litter box removed from the buffet area during set-up.
While I know the owners mean well, and it really is a beautiful property, I think it would be a good addition to have a dedicated event organizer on staff to eliminate this disorganization and stress for all sides. If you use this venue, have everything in writing ahead of time with financial penalties if the product is not delivered, or so that you are protected in some way.
We cannot say enough about this venue and the owners Chelsea and John! They were so helpful. I had a special request to add drapes and they went above and beyond to make it sure it was hung perfectly. Although I'm sure it was stressful they never let it show! The venue is beautiful and they allowed us to make our event customized for our special day. Bravo guys!
