The Reeds at Shelter Haven

We got married in June of last year and had a magical wedding weekend at The Reeds. We did welcome drinks the night before, an after party, and brunch the next day after the wedding. The food and decorations were on point and our family and friends still talk about our day, and how great it was. While the staff and coordinators were amazing, there are two improvements come to mind given the expense of this venue: 1) Clean the Suite Floors: As others have mentioned in their reviews, I didn’t think this would still be an issue but it was. Our suite which my bridal party got ready in had very dirty floors and the day of our wedding my bridesmaids and I had to wash off our feet in the shower 5 times!!!! That is absurd given the price and reputation of this establishment. My MOH had to let our coordinator know and they finally went in to mop the floors, which was wonderful but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Despite this setback, that didn’t ruin our experience. 2) While our wedding coordinator was fantastic, she wasn’t always readily available and we didn’t have her cellphone number. This caused some hiccups along the way. Do yourself a favor and get a wedding planner to work with the coordinator. Don’t stress yourself out by doing it yourself.

Our wedding at the Reeds was wonderful. Everything ran smoothly, the food was good, the venue was organized, and the entire weekend was a success. We were so pleased with our experiences working with Liz and Ceandra in the time leading up to the event and on the day of the wedding. The hotel was lovely, and we had no issues even as the venue was booked for weddings each night of the weekend. Our guests had a wonderful time, and everything worked out great! It's expensive because they do it well!

From our initial site visit until we said goodbye to The Reeds team a few days after our wedding, everything was simply wonderful. Liz was so welcoming at our walk-through and she showed us all of the various spaces we could utilize for our wedding and wedding weekend events. The menus and pricing provided were clear and easy to understand. I loved The Reeds before even touring, but once we were able to really see the spaces in person, I knew this was the place for our wedding. We wanted a place where we could do everything on-site and get a chance to spend the whole weekend with our guests in one location and this was definitely the spot for us! Once we booked, Liz was always available to answer any questions as they came up. As we got closer to our wedding date, we were connected with the person who would be our main contact for the detailed planning and on the day of our wedding, Ceandra. Ceandra was so sweet and easy to work with the entire time. Ceandra and Liz both attended our details meeting and we were able to discuss all of our plans, decide on our menu, ask questions, and plan for the big day. We did things a bit out of order because of our schedules and attended the tasting after the planning meeting, but that did not stop us from enjoying everything that was offered. The tasting had such a wide variety of the menu options and allowed us to get a sense of the quality of food and beverages offered. It was just amazing how much food was offered and how good everything was!! It also allowed us to see the wedding team in action. Following the tasting, the time to the wedding moved pretty quickly for us and Ceandra was in contact as often as needed and helped with all of the final details. I cannot even begin to explain how perfect our wedding weekend was. Ceandra and every team member at The Reeds made sure that everything went smoothly and according to plan during our entire stay. We met Ceandra for our drop off and did a final review of all the plans for the day. The next day, we had our rehearsal on-site, followed by our Rehearsal Dinner on the Roof Garden. The morning of the wedding, we used our space in the Skye Suite (which was SPECTACULAR) for getting hair and make-up done. We utilized various spaces on-site for our first look, bridal party, and family photos and even took a quick trip to the beach in one of their golf carts for beach photos. The outdoor ceremony site at The Reeds provided a gorgeous backdrop of our wedding ceremony and then from there, we partied all night long! The cocktail hour on the patio allowed so much space for guests to mingle and enjoy time together, and the views could not be beat. Once the reception began, everything stayed on track with the timeline and the team continued to check in with us as the evening progressed. Throughout the entire evening, guests were coming up to us telling us this was the best wedding they had ever attended!! I'm still hearing from family and friends that the bartenders and wait staff were the best they had ever encountered at a weeding. We did not want the wedding to end and were thankful that we planned the After Party at the Crew Room in the Stone Harbor Pizza Pub. It was the perfect way to keep the party going and spend more time with our guests. For our final event, we were back to the Roof Garden for the post-wedding breakfast and everyone had a chance to relive the fun from the night before and say their goodbyes. Everything was perfect!!

If I could tell everyone to get married at the Reeds, I would. From start to finish the entire team was nothing short of amazing! Any questions I had during the planning process were answered thoroughly by the team, and when our coordinator Ceandra was introduced she was an angel. The BEO and paperwork kept things extremely transparent and organized leading up to our wedding day, and Ceandra was my brain the day of the wedding - keeping us on track and checking in with the timelines as we needed to move things along. The hotel staff was phenomenal and extremely trustworthy - from some guests leaving cards with the front desk and them letting us know, to the valet guys asking us how our wedding went and the salon staff checking in on the weather. It felt like we were family to everyone! The food was amazing, the venue was GORGEOUS and all of our guests were blown away by the day. Using the Ready Room at the Salt Spa made the whole morning so easy not having to worry where the girls were getting ready at, and the guys were able to hangout in their own separate room on the hotel side. Beds comfy, rooms clean and truly have the whole wedding thing down to a science. LOVE LOVE LOVED our day. Can't say enough good things.

The Reeds made for the most perfect wedding venue we could have ever asked for! From the food to the spectacular views, we highly recommend choosing the Reeds as your fall, spring, or winter wedding destination. We are so grateful to the staff and look forward to returning as much as possible to reminisce on an amazing weekend.

We held our receptions at The Reeds in October 2023 and it was perfect. There is a whole team to help you throughout the process and the venue is beautiful. They offer a list of vendors they often work with and this helped me tremendously when picking out a florist, photographer, and videographer. Although they advertise they offer a planner, I did hire a separate wedding planner because I felt the attention I was getting was little more “day of coordinator” rather than helping from start to finish. Depending on the couple, their services could be perfectly fine! There are multiple different spaces that can be utilized for a full weekend on the property. The food at both cocktail hour and the reception was really very good, they have a lot of options for all guests and dietary restrictions. Their drink selection is amazing. The signature cocktail we wanted wasn’t a normal cocktail, it was a recipe my dad came up with and they were able to accommodate and make it! Truly wonderful. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get married in the area!!!

The Reeds couldn’t have been more perfect for our wedding day! The venue itself is beautiful, and on top of that the food was delicious. Guests are still talking about the food at our wedding! The staff was also so helpful and friendly. The service couldn’t have been better. Liz is incredible to work with and made sure our vision came to life. We had the absolute dream wedding day and it was all because of the beautiful venue and the staff that work there. Couldn’t recommend having your wedding at The Reeds more!

Our daughter's wedding at The Reeds was fabulous. The site is wonderful; the food is perfect; and the staff are friendly and professional. Our guests could not stop talking about how fantastic the food was and how friendly the people were who were serving. We also booked the Skye Suite for our daughter so we would have a large room in which to get ready and that added to the beauty and ease of the day. Our planner Jessica was so great. I cannot begin to express how grateful our family is for the wonderful day we had there and all the wonderful memories that we will have.

The Reeds was an amazing venue for our big day. The scenery, the hotel rooms, the FOOD... Everything was better than we could have imagined. One of my favorite parts was going to their complimentary food tasting a few months prior to the wedding. They set it up like a mock wedding and we met other couples, and got to try the food and see the hotel rooms. On the day of the wedding the best part was throughout cocktail hour and the reception, the wait staff was amazing. They were super attentive, made us plates of food, checked in to see if we needed drinks often, and just overall made us feel important throughout the entire night. The hotel staff all knew us by name and were extremely helpful. Even my parents were impressed with the service and felt like they had their own personal waitress for anything they needed. Jess, our Day of Coordinator was so helpful and organized leading up to the wedding, as well as on the day of. She answered emails quickly and was extremely helpful even with the 100 questions I sent her every week leading up to the wedding. With all that being said, when rating this venue... I was between 4 or 5 stars. The ONLY reason being that they truly need to revise their "weather call" procedures. It was downpouring in the morning but by 2:00 was bright and sunny without a cloud in the sky. The issue is that they require you to make the call for the wedding to be inside or outside at 12:00 (it is in their contract). The ceremony did not start until 4:30, and I know it takes time to set up, but had we been able to make that call just 2 hours later, we would have made a different choice. It caused a bit of stress and frustration, and if they would just change that procedure I think it could have been avoided. Overall though I would highly recommend this venue and we plan to come back and stay on anniversaries as it is a beautiful place to stay.

The Reeds will single handedly ensure that your wedding day is the most beautiful day of your life! From the first moment my husband and I contacted them after we got engaged the entire team was incredibly responsive and helpful. They saw us through every facet of our wedding planning journey, all the while helping us feel prepared and excited for our day. When we attended the tasting, which was absolutely phenomenal, we became very well acquainted with the team and they allowed us to explore the hotel so we could get a sense of where all the events for our wedding would take place and helped us feel extremely at ease. Months before the wedding the team really excelled in communication nailing down every detail of the day. We didn’t think it could get any better until our actual wedding day came and The Reeds went above and beyond to not only ensure that that day ran smoothly but also made us feel like they were celebrating with us. We had almost every guest tell us the food was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding and that couldn’t have been more true. We’d especially like to thank Josephine and Paul who were instrumental in making our wedding perfect and we are so grateful. We can’t recommend The Reeds highly enough. It was truly a dream come true!

My wife and I were married on site at The Reeds April 14, 2023. Leading up to the day we were both anxious about everything running smoothly and organizing all of the moving parts that come with planning a wedding. From the moment we checked in all of that anxiety faded away. The staff at The Reeds was so quick to accommodate any of our needs or questions that we would have. Our event coordinator Josephine was exceptional. She masterfully handled everything for us the entire weekend and helped us deal with any last-minute requests we had or changes we needed to make. My wife and I were truly able to enjoy our wedding and focus our attention on our guests and the celebration thanks to Josephine and Liz. A little more than a month after the wedding our guests are still talking about how great the wedding was and how spectacular the food and service were. I could spend hours detailing the compliments of the food and beverage and team deserve. The menu choices were all amazing and it was tough to pick between so many of the options. Staff was very accommodating for us; my wife is a vegetarian and they were willing to alter some options to be more vegetarian friendly, they even offered numerous suggestions and ideas for us. Looking back now it was one of the best weekends of our lives because of The Reeds' staff.We could not more highly this venue for anyone looking to book their event here.

Don’t hesitate to have your wedding at The Reeds. We started planning a year and half before the wedding and I can not say enough about Liz and Sara. They were so helpful and sweet from the beginning until the day of. I can’t wait to go back to see them! All of our guests raved about the food and how amazing the wedding was. We got married the day of hurricane Ian remnants in a flood so it was not exactly the beach wedding we had planned because everything was indoors but because it was at The Reeds it was fantastic. Thank Goodness for Sara making it so special for me! The wedding was an absolute blast. My room was beautiful I did not want to leave. I highly recommend The Reeds and can not wait to go back to this place that will always have a very special place in my heart ❤️

I just had my dream hallmark Christmas wedding at the Reed's this past weekend and I can't even imagine doing it at any other venue. I grew up coming to Stone Harbor so I already knew the Reed's was an amazing hotel---but if you have the opportunity to have wedding here ---particularly a winter wedding in the offseason to avoid high prices for your guests to attend I would 10/10 recommend. The service from start to finish was impeccable---the venue and town were the perfect Christmas backdrop for what were hoping to achieve for our wedding. Guests raved about the food, service, and venue and I heard over and over that it was the best wedding guests have ever been to. The lobby even had a huge gingerbread house in the lobby and candles that made it smell like Christmas as soon as you entered the hotel. Shout out to the staff, like George the valet who immediately was personable and lovely. Liz Maestre, our day of coordinator, made the actual wedding day so much easier and completely put my stresses at ease as a bride. I am still in awe of how perfect everything turned out!

Don't look any further and book the reeds immediately. It was a dream venue. We got married on 12/3/2022 and all their Christmas decorations were up and it was beautiful. We also had our welcome drinks in addition to our ceremony and reception at the reeds. Everything was perfect, the ambiance, the service the food it was literally amazing. Getting married on the deck was a dream, perfect backdrop. Sara the wedding coordinator who came with the Reeds was also amazing! Organized, on top of it and easy to work with. Seriously, book this venue now I only have amazing things to say about it.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, The Reeds felt like home. Every single person was kind and helpful and made our wedding that much more special. Our guests cannot wait to return to The Reeds for their own celebrations and we can’t wait to return as well. Do not hesitate to book The Reeds for your wedding, as you will not be disappointed and your dreams will come true !

I cannot recommend The Reeds or Sara Teson enough. The entire team made sure our day and entire wedding weekend was special. Sara was an absolute gem to work with and truly made the whole experience a breeze. She was always quick to answer an email (I sent A LOT) and always replied that whatever request I had, she would find a way to make it work. We had some rain on the day of the wedding which had me extremely stressed. She talked me off the ledge numerous times and was able to give me my dream ceremony outside and provided all my guests umbrellas for the drizzle. Everyone had a blast and our parents were extremely happy with how everything turned out. They did not have to worry about anything day of. We had a band and with our guest amount (~125) the dance floor was perfectly sized and Sara kept the evening going by adding dance sets in while the staff cleaned and set each course. Our experience was phenomenal, including some of the preferred vendors that The Reeds recommended. If you are even hesitating having your day at The Reeds, have it on a Sunday and ensure Sara is your coordinator.

It was a fantastic and amazing ceremony and reception. Sara was our wedding coordinator and she was above and beyond anything we could have asked for. The food was great. The drinks were great. We had our rehearsal dinner the night before and a brunch the morning after on the rooftop deck. Both were awesome. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Now I will tell you why we give The Reeds 4 stars and not 5…. The hotel and front desk were not up to par. These details did not directly affect our wedding but it did cause some displeasure for our guests. My mother (mother of the groom) had 4 rooms in her name for the weekend. Two checking in Friday, one checking in Saturday and one checking in Sunday (day of wedding). She had several family members coming in from out of town on different days. The night we got there (Friday) both of the rooms my mother was given was double booked. The hotel staff handed her two keys and when they entered those two rooms there were people already in them. This caused my mom and her family member to have to check into a room Friday, then check into a different room Saturday and a different room Sunday. On Saturday when my mother was checking into her 3rd room (meant for my sister) it was also double booked! Resulting in my sister (sister of the groom and one of the bridesmaids) having to spend the night at a local motel. Additionally on Saturday another bridesmaid attempted to check-in and was using a Visa at the front desk. The room was paid for but they needed a card on file. Well apparently “they were having issues with Visa’s” and said they couldn’t run any of her cards because they were all Visa’s. This resulted in her driving home that night and returning in the morning. Last but not least, the beds are horrible. The rooms overall are very nice and clean but every single guest that stayed over complained of the mattresses. My wife and I also had a very difficult time sleeping on them. You could tell they were low quality and had been thoroughly used (lots of divets and curves).

My now husband and I decided to have our rehearsal dinner at The Reeds, and I am so happy we did! From start to finish during the planning process, Daniella was very friendly, informative, responsive and accommodating. Day-of, everything went perfectly and exactly to plan. The space is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff was great. I highly recommend The Reeds for any special event!

It has taken me a few months to write a post-wedding review simply due to the fact that the Reeds was so beyond exceptional that I didn't know how write anything that would do it justice. I cannot count the number of guests who said that the Reeds was the best wedding venue (and vacation spot!) they have ever been to....and they are right! The food was phenomenal-- the raw bar stayed magically replenished with TOP TIER seafood (coming from someone that grew up in cape cod and knows their seafood), the appetizers are creative and delicious, and the main courses were excellent. I have not stopped hearing about the steak. The open air concept in the ballroom made for such a unique experience, and allowed my introverted guests to avoid the feeling of claustrophobia or overwhelm that can set in once the band starts playing and the people start dancing. I am not exaggerating whatsoever when I say that the Reeds staff did not ask us even 1 question on the day of the wedding. You will absolutely not find yourself stressing about the little details- they do that for you! I was sitting back in the Reeds Spa with my cocktails and my bridesmaids without a care in the world, and they did a better job picking out where my various decorations should be than I ever would. If you are as lucky as I was, you will have Elizabeth Mestre as the mastermind behind your big day. Liz somehow had every single detail on lock and knew where everyone was at any moment.... BUT you wouldn't know that because she will also be right there with you smiling as if she's known you forever, and making sure you have your drink of choice (or food) in your hand! Finally, their secret weapon: Carol from the Reeds Spa. I went to dinner with Carol literally a week ago, and my wedding was about 5 months ago. She is a master with hair, has amazing stories, and is just someone you want to be around. She listens to what you want, and understands that everyone is different. I am so grateful that I had Carol do my wedding hair, and that she advocated for me when I needed it. She is a good one. (also she does the best blonde highlights EVER)

Just finished working as a vendor for a wedding at The Reeds. Sara was the most amazing calm, cool and collected coordinator. She was wonderful to work with, easy to communicate with before and during the reception, and she handled the wedding with meticulous care, I would highly recommend to any bride considering The Reeds to ask for Sara (who handles most of the Sunday Weddings) She was a dream and the venue was beautiful.

We had our wedding on September 17th 2022, and we had an exceptional day with many great aspects to talk about, however the Reeds let us down on a number of things. Our wedding planner for the Reeds, Emily, was nowhere to be found and very difficult to get in touch with. We had many ideas for the cocktail hour, such as preserving signature drinks, which were not followed through on. We requested 4 bartenders for a 205 person wedding and received only 2, leading to many long lines at the bar and overall displeasure with how it was handled. When setting up our ceremony on the beach, they set up the aisle with two trash cans right dead in the center. They were also 1 hour tardy to begin setting up which led to scrambling prior to the ceremony start and family members needing to help create the ceremony space. For the coordinated after-party, we only asked for 1 food item which was Bacon Egg, and Cheese sandwiches, they couldn't even get this right and served everyone sausage. They refused to reimburse us for this mistake as well. So many details of the day were not properly handled and left us very disappointed in the Reeds. The Reeds has a stunning location on the bay and has excellent hotel services and amenities. The Reeds restaurant is a lovely place for a meal and the food is generally very good. We are very affirmative that The Reeds wedding staff did not meet the standards we would expect for hosting such a large event during their busiest month.

It couldn’t have been any better! We absolutely had the best experience from booking and planning everything to our actual wedding day. All thanks to Sara and the rest of the staff for making the day so perfect. Our guests raved about the food especially the hibachi table at cocktail hour! Having our wedding at the Reeds was the best decision we ever made!!

The Reeds completely exceeded our expectation of the most perfect wedding for our daughter! The day was flawless which is due to the unbelievable staff and Sara working behind the scenes to make sure everybody was having a good time and was being well taken care of. The food was exceptional and we are so grateful to Chef Michael for the most awesome “Maryland crab cakes.” We are still getting calls from family and friends letting us know that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Thank you to the Reeds at Shelter Haven for an unforgettable magical wedding!!

We are so thrilled that we had our wedding at The Reeds. It was important to us to find a venue that highlighted the best parts of “The Jersey Shore” because we were introducing it to many of our guests for the first time. The location, staff & hotel couldn’t have been better. So many guest raved about Stone Harbor after the wedding and The Reeds had a big part in making their trip enjoyable. The planning of the wedding was seamless thanks to Sara and her team. We essentially planned our wedding in 6 months and Sara made decision making efficient and kept me on track with our timeline. She was enthusiastic & flexible through out the entire process and was game for any idea we threw at her. We had unexpected rain as our ceremony started and Sara & her team did their best to transition cocktail hour inside as cocktail hour was beginning. It was a hectic situation that would’ve been a disaster with any other venue/team. My only suggestion is to book all venues early. We booked the ceremony/reception & after party when we secured our wedding date. However we waited a few months to book the rehearsal dinner & bridal suite at The Reeds and our options were limited to smaller rooms because of our delay. We needed to fit too many people into the available spaces which slightly impacted our experience but that is completely our fault & Sara did her best to enhance the spaces to make them work. We’ve received so many compliments on our wedding weekend. We are so excited to continue to celebrate our anniversaries and future life events at The Reeds for years to come!

We couldn't be happier with our decision to have our wedding at the Reeds! The wedding was a dream come true, and it was the perfect venue to have a wedding down the shore. Everything from the wedding coordinators to the food and service throughout was incredible. Our guests have continued to rave about the venue itself and the food. Liz was absolutely fantastic - I was worried about things not coming together when my original coordinator left a couple weeks before our wedding, but Liz went above and beyond with everything from getting all of the decorations set up perfectly to ensuring everything went smoothly throughout the day. I cannot recommend the Reeds enough!

The absolute perfect beach wedding venue. We had a coordinator switch a few weeks before the wedding and everyone I dealt with was absolutely amazing and professional but Sara deserves a special shout-out. When a storm rolled in right before the ceremony Sara took care of everything from being in communication with my vendors to driving family members back and forth from the beach. She remained positive and kept me calm. We ended up having the perfect beach wedding followed by the best cocktail hour and reception I could of asked for! And I can’t forget to mention the food was delicious. I loved the reeds and would 100% book with them again! Thank you so much Sara and the entire reeds team for giving me my perfect wedding.

I cannot recommend the Reeds enough! As an out of state bride, I was nervous that things would get missed, but the entire team at the Reeds made the day perfect! Sara, Daniella, and Caroline were all so sweet, organized, and easy to work with! The views of the bay and the ballroom are all stunning. You cannot beat it for a coastal wedding! Not only is it beautiful, but the food was amazing, too! I had guests come from all over and everyone said it was the best food and atmosphere they had ever experienced at a wedding. The entire experience from the rehearsal, to our stay, to the wedding day was perfect!

Our 5.21.22 wedding at the Reeds was amazing! We had been planning it for almost two years and it was truly an unforgettable experience, thanks in large part to our coordinator Sara and the Reeds staff. Sara was an excellent coordinator from working with our vendors to ensuring that everyone was in place for pictures and the ceremony and we stayed on time. She was available to answer our questions and made sure every detail was in place. After the wedding, we heard from multiple guests how nice the venue was, how delicious the food was, and how professional the staff was. Multiple guests staying in our room block said everyone they met at the Reeds was so nice and they would come back for a personal vacation. Our cocktail hour outside was amazing and we really enjoyed all the food, especially the filet. I cannot possibly list all the reasons you should consider the Reeds as your wedding venue, but I can promise you that they will not disappoint.

Words cannot describe how perfect 4/30/22 was at The Reeds. The Reeds deserves 10 stars! I cannot thank the staff enough for making my wedding weekend perfect. They paid attention to every detail and my cocktail hour and reception were flawless. Cocktail hour on the deck was exactly what I dreamed it would be and more and the reception was perfect! The food was phenomenal- our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. I highly recommend The Reeds - I promise they will exceed your expectations! Thank you to The Reeds for a dream come true!

Our 3/11/22 wedding was amazing, we were lucky to have a beautiful day in March and able to have the ceremony and cocktail hour outside which was so beautiful. The provided vendor list was extremely helpful in choosing vendors as they know the venue very well. Cocktail hour food was great and I was very pleased with the setup outside. We were on the fence about the after party in the Crew Room upstairs but so thankful we went ahead with it! Important to note that your guests MUST book by your room block date or minimum 2 night stay with prices doubled. Overall a great experience.

Having my entire wedding weekend at The Reeds really was a dream come true. The staff was really top notch, and that includes hotel and wait staff as well as the event team. The food was amazing! Our guests have still been talking about how good dinner was. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because they advertise winter weddings, but we had guests that were extremely cold depending on where they were sitting. It was a very bitter cold winter night, and the veranda where the bars and our photo wall were located were too cold for most people to be in. My parents tables right near the veranda were also too cold. Had we gotten married on a warmer day, this wouldn’t have even been an issue and I would be leaving 5 stars. I would highly recommend having your wedding here! You definitely won’t be disappointed.

We had our ceremony and cocktail hour outside on the bay and couldn't have picked a more gorgeous place to show our friends and family our love of the shore! The views were perfect for our first look on the dock and the sunset provided such a romantic setting. The food was amazing - from the pork dumplings to the seafood raw bar. We couldn't choose between the filet and the salmon, so chose the duo to provide all our guests with both! The Reeds team made us feel at ease and staff was so friendly and helpful the entire evening. I can't thank them enough for how easy they made the wedding planning process from start to finish, and months later our guests are still talking about what an amazing night it was!

The Reeds was the perfect wedding location for my fall wedding at the shore! Everything was very elegant, and we were even able to use both the indoor and outdoor deck space all night for our October wedding which our guests loved. Many of our vendors we booked through the Reeds preferred vendor listing and they were all first class. We also used the Stone Harbor Pizza Pub next door (booked through the Reeds) for an after party which was great as our guests could walk right over to the after party from the reception. Katie was great to work with throughout the planning process and helped make our day perfect!

Absolutely amazing! From the beginning of the planning process to after the reception Katie was just the best to work with! She honestly made it completely enjoyable and stress free. She was quick to answer every question and I had zero stress the day of the wedding because I knew I was in the best hands! The cocktail hour was just stunning out on the veranda area and the reception was the same in the ballroom. The entire evening ran so smoothly and the food was excellent! Our wedding guests are still commenting on how amazing everything was, almost two weeks later. If we had to do it all over again my husband and I would book The Reeds in a heartbeat - they truly made our wedding day dreams come true!

If I could give this venue 10 stars, I would. My husband and I got married on April 23, 2021 and could not have imagined a more perfect day. From the moment we spoke with Liz and signed our contract to the moment we checked out of our room, the weekend was nothing short of perfect. Katie and Leslie made our rehearsal dinner and wedding day go seamlessly. Our guests raved about the food and our cake. The event staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us and our guests. We had our after party at the pizza pub, which was the perfect way to keep our party going in a more casual setting. I rented the "getting ready room" at the spa and had plenty of room for all my bridesmaids to get ready and relax. The hair and makeup team did a fantastic job. Everyone looked beautiful and got a chance yo individualize their looks for the day. If I could do it again, I wouldn't change a single detail. If you want a perfect wedding day, book your wedding at The Reeds!

Where do I begin?! I am writing this review from Cloud 9! June 26,2021 was the BEST DAY EVER, due to the entire staff at The Reeds! From the first moment of speaking to Liz, to the first meeting with Katie Gebauer, to the WEDDING DAY, everything was just PERFECT!!! There was nothing that the Reeds’ staff would not do for us! Their professionalism is exceptional! After having to postpone our daughter’s and fiancé’s wedding three times at another venue, we finally made the decision to switch venues. We had our wedding at the Reeds 5/28/2021 after having to move our plans from Philadelphia, it was absolutely in no way a compromise, it was incredible. The staff from the very start, beginning with Liz the sales manager, were the best you can get. They were responsive and understanding even with our short time-line to plan our wedding. Katie our wedding coordinator made our wedding. She was the most organized, kind and supportive throughout the process and especially on our wedding day. Every detail was just right and not a thing went wrong because of Katie's oversight. The bar staff is incredibly friendly and service was excellent. I cannot say enough great things about how perfect The Reeds is, our guests had an amazing time. Additionally- the hotel has the most beautiful rooms, such comfortable beds and all our spa services were perfect. Have your wedding at The Reeds!

Absolute Perfection! My husband and I searched around for wedding venues. When we found the Reeds, there were no more questions. Not only is the Reeds venue so beautiful, but the wedding contract includes everything we needed. Other venues we needed to pay add on prices for every little thing, and the Reeds just had everything in one place. Liz and Leslie were so communicative through the whole covid process, and kept my husband and I feeling confident that our wedding would be okay. The wedding day, everything went seamlessly! If we needed anything the day of, the Reeds staff were on it immediately. The bartenders and wait staff were so helpful and nice. We are so grateful for our whole wedding experience. Aside from the wedding, the hotel being on site was the perfect addition and made accommodating guests even easier. Guests were so pleased that they just had to walk downstairs at the beginning of the night and walk upstairs at the end of the night. We used the pizza party at the pizza pub, and the gate to walk through was also so convenient and helped us to continue to the night of fun. We love the Reeds, and we got soooo many compliments from our guests too!! Brides will not regret picking the Reeds 💜🎉

We were able to have our fairytale wedding and it's all thanks to the Reeds!! We had to postpone for a year but Leslie, Krista, and everyone at the Reeds were beyond supportive and there for us every step of the way. We got ready in the Sky Suite and it was an amazing room! We had so much space to get ready in plus there was a full kitchen for breakfast!! We wanted to get pictures on the beach and the Reeds had a huge golf cart (sits 6 people) that we were able to use to get to and from the beach. The wedding itself was everything we could have ever wanted. From the breathtaking outdoor area by the bay for both the ceremony to the gorgeous ballroom that was full of dancing, the Reeds bypassed our expectations. We cannot wait to go back for our one year anniversary!!!

The Reeds truly mastered the art of weddings. You can read all the amazing things about the Reeds and how they do weddings (They are all true!!)- but I want to focus on 2 important things. First, Liz was our guardian angel (and therapist). She guided us through absolutely everything, dealt with my many emotions, and pulled off my dream wedding- there was no request that wasn't granted. Second, I was their first covid bride (canceled 1 week before my March wedding). I know some venues are not accommodating- the reeds was anything but. They went above and beyond to do everything they could, worked with me on every level and dealt with the uncertainties gracefully. We will be going back to the Reeds to celebrate all of our anniversaries!! Can't wait to see the Reeds staff again, who we now consider friends.

We recently got married at The Reeds on 1/2/21 and it was everything we hoped it’d be and more! We knew we wanted to be married down the shore and The Reeds was the perfect spot with such incredible views. My bridesmaids and I got ready in the Skye Suite and ordered the breakfast package to be delivered to the room which worked out perfectly! It was a rainy morning that turned into a beautiful sunny day and we were able to watch it happen over the bay as we got ready. We had unseasonably warm weather and we were able to take our first look pictures at the beach and then our wedding party and family joined us at the bay for pictures. We even got amazing sunset pictures over the bay which we can’t wait to see! Leslie was our coordinator and was very accommodating, even with adjusting to last minute changes and working with us throughout these unprecedented times. Leslie and the team made everything look perfect that day and it was truly a stress-free wedding day knowing we were in such good hands! Our guests have not stopped talking about how good the food was and how nice the venue was. A lot of our guests stayed over night and can’t wait to go back for a weekend! We are so happy we were still able to have our wedding and we are so thankful it all worked out so perfectly! We stayed a couple extra days after our wedding to start our honeymoon and it was so relaxing! Can’t wait to go back!

Do not hesitate for one second in booking The Reeds. We were married on 11/9/19 and our day was an absolute dream. I am an event planner by trade and to say I had very high expectations is a gross understatement. I could not have been more pleased with our wedding coordinator Liz. Every detail was executed perfectly. Liz had everything (and everyONE) handled. I didn't have to worry about a thing and could just enjoy my day. She anticipated our every need and was always a few feet away whenever we needed her. Our guests raved about the beauty of the venue but also the service and the delicious food (which is often hard to find in a banquet setting). Our guests loved the hotel accommodations and adored cute little Stone Harbor. We also booked the Crew Room at the Pizza Pub for our after-party which I'd highly recommend. If you're looking for a wedding venue that will exceed your (high) expectations, look no further than The Reeds.

The best day of our life!! From start to finish I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Reeds, and all who work there. Elizabeth was our wedding planner and to say she is amazing doesn't even scratch the surface of how we feel about her as a person, and wedding planner. I cannot even put into words how wonderful everything we experienced was, all I can say is if you are thinking of having your wedding anywhere but at the Reeds STOP NOW and call them asap. Our wedding day was that of a fairytale and I cannot thank everyone at the Reeds enough for making our dreams reality.

The Reeds was spectacular! The day of our wedding was free of any stress. Elizabeth made the experience so easy and positive. I was bummed that it rained on our wedding day. We were hoping to have our ceremony outside. But, I was so happy with how they transformed the ballroom into a ceremony space for me. It completely changed my mind about indoor weddings. My husband and I had a great experience with the Reeds. The day was so beautiful, the venue is gorgeous, the food and drinks were delicious and we had so much fun! Krista was so helpful with getting everything set up for us initially, and Liz was incredible as our Coordinator! She took care of everything - ALL of my many questions, she provided reassurance when needed and was truly amazing. She went above and beyond for us, from the planning process to the day of. She was really amazing and her and her team made our experience at the Reeds extra special.

The Reeds was my dream wedding venue since before we were engaged. There is no other venue like The Reeds on the coastline of NJ! With it's stunning views, perfect location, and relaxing accommodations there is no other venue comparable. Throughout the process of planning our wedding, Elizabeth was extremely helpful and approachable. She listened to every detail we wanted and worked hard the day of our wedding to take care of these details. The Reeds staff is extremely welcoming to guests and hospitable to fill every need. I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else. We can't wait to go back and visit on our anniversary.

The Reeds….where do I begin? This venue is spectacular. Liz, Vanessa, Leah, Krista, and everyone else on the Reeds team was absolutely fantastic —professional in every way. My husband and I are big foodies, and chose the Reeds for exactly that reason. We instantly fell in love with the incredible food and the breathtaking bay views. From day 1, the team starts to lay out all of your details, pricing, timelines, and continues to guide you up to the big day. Liz was excellent with her communication, even answering emails in between events at the Reeds on weekends to help us get questions answered and details sorted out. The day of was unreal….we snuck into our reception early before cocktail hour, and that’s the moment you just take a deep breath & realize the whole night is going to be perfect. And it was! I never felt stressed from 5pm through our after party in the Crew room. We stayed in our complimentary room that night and were greeted with champagne, a blanket inscribed with our last initial, and a beautiful balcony. The rooms are spotless and gorgeous. Whatever you need, they will do their absolute best to accommodate you. We are so thankful we found the Reeds at Shelter Haven and will never forget our wedding weekend!!

I challenge anyone to find a better venue. From the moment I stepped out onto the back deck at The Reeds it was simply magical elegance. As I was led around to the deck area and the reception room I soon realized that the people were so extremely caring and nice even down to the waitresses and waiters who were welcoming. Unlike many other venues I had visited The Reeds were very flexible with our needs wants and budget ideas. On the day of our wedding my now husband and I kept looking at each other asking ourselves if this was real ! We were treated like celebrities but also like family. They kept everything organized and on track and made the day go so smoothly and allowed us to have a blast on the dance floor! They gave us a leach a plate of food and cake to go so we could eat it late night! Liz, who coordinated the whole thing, is incredible and the sweetest person! My husband and I recently got married at The Reeds and it really was the best weekend of my life! The bay front suite we stayed in was exquisite and offered the best views of the bay! From the time we checked in, to the moment we checked out we were catered to. Liz and her team were on point! Everything on the wedding day ran smoothly and just as I had envisioned. It was truly a perfect day!

I recently got married at The Reeds in September. As soon as I saw The Reeds I knew this was the place I wanted to get married. My husband and I always dreamed of a beach wedding and that is exactly what we got. From start to finish everything was amazing. The staff was very helpful! Liz was truly amazing and made my dream wedding come to life. She was always there to answer my questions (even if I emailed her multiple times a day). I don't even know what I would do without her every step of the way! Krista was also amazing and helped us figure out a way to have our dream wedding at the beach but still be able to keep it small. All the food was amazing and everyone of my guest complimented on how great everything was. The venue was beautiful and I loved every minute of it! Thank you to everyone at the Reeds for making our day amazing and one we will never forget!

We just got married at The Reeds and were so so pleased with the day! The location couldn't be any more picturesque, and the hotel's resources (outside deck for cocktail hour, ballroom with the doors open for dinner, everything down to the glassware!) perfectly complimented and let us enjoy the splendid natural scenery. The staff was really professional and the food was beautiful and delicious, creating the "easy sophistication" feel we wanted for our reception. Everything was confidently carried out by The Reeds team exactly as we expected, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the party.

Our wedding weekend at The Reeds was an absolute dream! Stone Harbor is our favorite place and The Reeds was the perfect place to make that come to life. We got engaged late summer and ended up waiting almost two years to get married so we could have a summer wedding at The Reeds and it was absolutely worth it! The whole team at The Reeds was so accommodating and helpful and was always available to answer questions and provide guidance. The details meeting was so helpful in making our vision come to life so that our day ended up perfect. Vanessa was our coordinator throughout and helped handle all the small details the day of so I could relax knowing everything was under control. Everyone couldn't get over how beautiful the venue is and raved about the food. We had a brunch at the Reeds the next morning that was also the perfect venue and a great end to a wonderful weekend. The getting ready room at the new spa was beautiful and the perfect space to get ready for the day - it has everything you need and was super comfy!

I found The Reeds online - which is exactly how I found my husband 😄. When you do this, you always wonder if the real thing will be as good as what you see online. The Reeds exceeded my expectations on every level. (My husband did too, but this review isn’t about him): 1) The people! Vanessa was our coordinator and was an absolute delight to work with. She is an expert. Every detail was executed perfectly... she even came to our room the day of to bring down some extra signage and such. Rockstar. (She’s now on our Christmas card list 🎄). Krista was our sales rep. She really helped us out. We wanted a small wedding, but I desperately wanted to have it at The Reeds. So, a Sunday afternoon was the perfect answer. ☀️ 2) The venue! The sky suite made it the perfect vacation for us. So nice to wake up to a bright room on our wedding day and day after. (Croissants and coffee on the veranda overlooking the bay!🥐☕️) Loved having an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, then reception partially inside and partially outside & covered. 3) The details! They think of everything so you don’t have to! When everyone asked “Are you stressed about your wedding?” I kept saying “No, The Reeds is handling it!” Need a golf cart to the beach? They make it happen on the spot. Preoccupied the day of your wedding? No problem. We were getting photos taken on the beach when our DJ showed up. No sweat. They have worked with him before. They just got set up without me needing to be involved. Certificates of insurance with your vendors? Easy. They work directly with whomever you choose whether they are on the suggested vendor list or not. There are a million tiny details like this. And they handled everything... so easy. And yes, our guests loved the food. We didn’t have much time to try everything we selected (although we did at our tasting), so I guess we’ll just have to go back! (Anyone getting married there soon? We’d love to come! 😁)

We got married at the Reeds in June and had our ceremony on the beach. Everything was perfect! We do not have one complaint about this venue. Our coordinator, Vanessa, was amazing. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot) and was there for us whenever we needed her the day of the wedding. She went to the beach for us that morning to scope out the weather and was always making sure we had whatever we needed. The reception was so much fun. The food was delicious and our cake looked incredible. I would highly recommend this venue!!

The Reeds is such a magical venue for a wedding. The bay views, the outdoor space, the amazing food and the beachy-chic vibe is unparalleled on 7MI. We loved everything about this venue for the entirety of the wedding weekend. We used the Crew Room for our rehearsal dinner (40 people) and subsequent Welcome Party (100 people). It was the perfect private space for both sizes of group and the views of the bay and sunset were gorgeous. Saturday morning my bridal party used the Ready Room (first group in there!). My hair and makeup team loved the space – they had enough room to spread out their supplies and the natural light was perfect for the makeup. Their attention to detail throughout the day was great too – constant supply of Voss water, snacks, and champagne! The ceremony itself luckily (thanks to the weather gods) took place on the back green… it was so unbelievably gorgeous! The rest of a night was a hit as well – being able to use the indoor and outdoor space all night was so amazing and we got a ton of compliments on the food as well. I would also like to mention that the Reeds team is very generous. They provide gorgeous chairs and linens plus outdoor heat lamps etc. – all free of charge. They are also very accommodating for substitutions in your contract, which I appreciated so much (i.e. we had champagne passed at the ceremony instead of being set at everyone’s place setting). These touches were so nice compared to what some of my other friends had dealt with at other venues. Vanessa and her team made the experience even better. They know what they are doing in terms of event planning and were a joy to work with through the whole process. I literally didn’t need to worry about anything on the day of because they were on top of everything – coordinating vendor setup, being the liaison between the kitchen, DJ and photographers, everything. Vanessa even brought a platter of our appetizers up to our suite that we could eat in the 5 minutes following the ceremony – we loved it! They cake in our room + adorable gift at the end of the night were very nice touches as well. We loved our experience at the Reeds and cannot thank them enough for everything!

Krista, Vanessa, and the rest of the coordination team at The Reeds did an impeccable job to make our wedding day the celebration of our dreams. They were incredibly accommodating of all our questions, changes, and customizations which made it so easy to plan our wedding. The Reeds really tries to make every couple feel special and well taken care of. The food was great too! Our guests raved about the entire experience. Also I would recommend the “Ready Room” for the bride and bridal party! It was so convenient and it is beautifully decorated so it’s a great spot for getting ready and photos!

I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing the Reeds was as the venue of my wedding in April. From the very first contact with Krista, to the day of planning and changes with Vanessa, and everything in between, it was perfect. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, let alone trying to plan it from out of town, but Krista and Vanessa were super responsive to my many emails, helpful with making recommendations for vendors, flexible with changes, and always made themselves available to ensure my wedding day was perfect. In the weeks leading up to my wedding, and on the day itself, Vanessa and her team were an amazing resource for the last minute detail planning and took the time to make me feel like my questions and big day were important. The staff was so nice throughout the weekend from our rehearsal dinner, to cocktail hour, to the reception. The food was amazing and all my guests were impressed with the options we had. The venue was beautiful and the small surprise touches that were included in our weekend will make it one we won’t soon forget and will want to relive over and over again.

We had our wedding reception at The Reeds in April and it could not have been more perfect. The whole process from initial planning to the tasting and the actual day was such a joy. Krista and Vanessa were amazing to work with and I highly recommend having your wedding here! It was everything that I imagined and more and all our guests agreed on how beautiful the venue was and how great the food tasted. Vanessa was laid back like us but at the same time so professional, accommodating, and always there when we needed something. Seriously no place better for your wedding and no better people to help you have the most perfect day!

I got married on 12/7/18 at The Reeds and it was everything I wanted and imagined! Even in the winter, Stone Harbor and The Reeds is a gorgeous place to be. Vanessa and Leslie were super helpful with planning and were amazing the day of! My guests all raved about the hotel rooms and how luxurious they were. If you book your wedding here - I highly recommend upgrading your wedding suite to the Skye Suite...it is AMAZING! I am so glad I got married here and look forward to returning with my husband for our anniversary :)

We attended our son's wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor last weekend. It was magical! Everything was wonderful! The entire staff was attentive and professional. Everything was well coordinated. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Everyone we encountered was organized, professional and helpful and seemed genuinely pleased to be working there. We were all VERY pleased with all aspects of the wedding! I highly recommend The Reeds at Shelter Haven!

The Reeds at Shelter Haven a truly magical place to get married. From the food to the ballroom to the magical views of the bay! This was the perfect experience. Our wedding planner Vanessa helped me plan every detail of our event and didn’t leave one stone left unturned. She accommodated every request and made us feel at ease up to the minute I walked down the aisle. My now husband and I spent the weekend there enjoying the amenities and magical views from our balcony suite. The staff at the Reeds performed far beyond the rest with true hospitality. Our wedding at The Reeds was more than I ever could have imagined. It is the most stunning venue, which allows for an open concept use of space both indoors and outdoors. When planning our wedding and searching for a venue, my husband and I were most concerned about the setting and being able to be outdoors with a water view. The set up at The Reeds allows you to have your ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors, while still being able to access the outdoors during the reception. The Reeds also has the best "Plan B" for any inclement weather that still allows you to utilize and access as much of the outdoor space as possible. The wedding planning staff was extremely professional and pleasant to work with. The rest of the hotel staff was also extremely polite and more than accommodating to us and our guests. The food is amazing and the selection offers a wide variety of options. Our guests cannot stop gushing about how fantastic our wedding was from the food to the beautiful sunset views to the party atmosphere. Though moderately priced, the pricing options offer flexibility to accommodate a budget. Coming from an event planning professional background, I cannot stress enough how fantastic the staff was and how smoothly the event was run from start to finish. This is a spot that my husband, family and I will continue to return to for years to come. We cannot thank the staff at The Reeds enough! Out of all of the shore venues, The Reeds undoubtedly supersedes any other venue.

Vanessa & the entire staff at the Reeds was amazing!! They helped us execute our dream wedding, from planning the details to recommending vendors to making sure we had all our belongings in our suite at the end of the night. I got married at the Reed's this past weekend and I can't say enough about how great the venue was, how professional and polite the staff was and how well the wedding team handled everything from start to finish. The ambiance was out of this world, the food was plentiful and fantastic, and Vanessa our wedding coordinator was phenomenal. I was not one of those women who grew up planning their wedding- but I have to say my wedding was better than anything I could have ever imagined. All my guests had a blast and the open concept of the ballroom and outdoor area was perfect. The harbor provided the perfect backdrop for pictures. If you want a venue that knows what they are doing pick the Reeds.. you won't be disappointed!!
