Sitting atop the shore of the Connecticut River sits The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station wedding venue, located in Haddam, CT. The elegant venue is prepared to host opulent wedding events and create everlasting experiences. The town of Haddam is rich with American history and features beautiful historic sites. Across the river and a 12-minute stroll from the private venue lies the historic Goodspeed Opera House. The opera house was erected in 1877 and, despite its name, was used for performing plays rather than operas. Connecting the historic house and the wedding venue is the famous Haddam Swingbridge. During the 1960s the bridge was known for its innovative build and design to help modernize means of transportation. Now the structures serve as picturesque locations while continuing to provide their intended functions.
The award-winning Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station features stunning grounds with a beautiful interior. Located outside is a dazzling fountain surrounded by manicured shrubs and flowers. The venue also features picturesque riverside views of the Goodspeed Opera House and accessible wooden docks. Inside, a spacious lobby with a grand two-story staircase leads to the ballroom and dressing-room suites. The ballroom can host up to 300 guests and features vaulted ceilings and grand chandeliers. Located at the center of the room is a hardwood dance floor with easy access from all sides. Connected to the venue is an outdoor glass-roof atrium used to host ceremonies or cocktail hours.
The elegant venue strives to give world-class experiences and leave guests feeling fulfilled. The venue is equipped with a four-star chef and contemporary kitchen for crafting gourmet dishes. The menu features fine American-style cuisine bursting with fresh and bold flavors. The gourmet menu presents numerous dining packages and can be tailored by either adding or excluding certain elements and dishes. Included in all packages are table linens, china, and flatware. They also include sparkling wine for pouring toasts or to enjoy at the bar and a coffee station for guests’ convenience. - Hattie DonnerGeneral ManagerIn the summer of 2010, I started working at The Riverhouse as the Assistant Banquet Manager. Coming from the Saybrook Point Inn’s restaurant I was eager to learn a new side of the industry. I studied at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida where I specialized in Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Management with a minor in Marketing. I also attended Mount Ida College in Boston Massachusetts for a degree in Business Management. With my education and experience working with the Director of Operations, I gained knowledge of event setup, floor design, staffing and execution. My favorite part of the wedding industry was watching the ballroom come alive. From a bare room with just tables and chairs to all the glitz and glam of each event. I get excited over linens, flower arrangements, glistening votive candles and attention to detail. Watching the bride’s face light up at her first look to the room is the best feeling. I was happy to be a part of this, knowing that we did everything to make each event special. In the last several years at The Riverhouse I have worked as the Assistant Banquet Manager, Wedding Sales Manager and in 2017 was promoted to the General Manager. Every department has given me a different experience that has enabled my knowledge for event planning. When I’m not with my work family, you can find me with my husband Donnie and our two young boys, either enjoying our property in East Haddam or at the beach in Old Saybrook.
- Kelley RisattiWedding Sales ManagerI started working at The Riverhouse as a server when I was 17 years old and have been falling in love with the industry ever since. Prior to being in the Sales Office, I had the pleasure of embracing many positions in the company such as Bridal Attendant, Banquet Captain, and Banquet Manager. I was fortunate to work directly with couples on their wedding day to make it everything they had hoped for. In these rolls, I learned a great deal about leadership, service and etiquette. I loved working the ballroom, but my ultimate goal was always to work in the sales office. I attended bridal shows and volunteered my time in the office to further my knowledge about the sales aspect of the job. Eventually, I was offered my dream job of working in wedding sales. In the office I am able to meet with couples to go over all of their wedding’s details prior to their reception and am in constant contact with couples as they planned their big day. It has opened my eyes to all of the work that goes into a wedding prior to the execution, and I thoroughly enjoy watching the couple’s vision come together! All of my past knowledge from my different positions here at the Riverhouse undeniably helps me assist our couples to plan the best day ever! I love everything about the Riverhouse, and I know you will too!!
- Robert HanleyDirector Of OperationsIn May of 2022, Rob joined the Riverhouse Team as a Banquet Captain while he simultaneously completed his degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at Southern Connecticut State University. After graduating, he was offered and happily accepted the position of Banquet Manager. Over the years, Rob has gained and honed a diverse set of skills from various positions in both the hospitality and medical fields, including in restaurants as a line cook and waiter, as a department head in a nursing home, and most recently as an EMT in an emergency room. While these individual roles may seem significantly different from Event Management, all fall under the umbrella of hospitality and have provided him a unique and diverse perspective on how to care for and tend to clients and guests in any capacity. Thanks to the Riverhouse, weddings and events have quickly become a passion of his. Seeing the detail and excitement the managers show for each event, as well as the excitement from guests leading up to and during an event, has had a profound effect on him and convinced him that the event industry is truly where he belongs. When Rob isn’t at the Riverhouse, he enjoys spending time with friends, whether it be snowboarding, wake boarding or fishing throughout the Sound, or “enjoying” a round of golf!
- Holly BarryBanquet ManagerI joined the Riverhouse team mid summer season of 2023. I reside just down the road in the village of Higganum with my husband Josh and our four wonderful daughters, Hannah, Eleanor, Isla, and Celia. I’ve spent over 20 years immersed in the service and hospitality industry. My journey into the world of hospitality began at family gatherings, where my cousin and I enthusiastically took everyone’s dinner orders. This love for serving others led me to the restaurant business, where I started as a host and worked my way up to becoming a skilled server. For the past 15 years, I’ve been an integral part of Penny Lane Pub in Old Saybrook, wearing many hats along the way – from server to front-of-house manager, office manager, and event coordinator. During my time at Penny Lane Pub, I discovered a true passion for event coordination. Witnessing the magic of a room transformed and bringing the visions of our guests to life brought me immense joy. As I step into the exciting new season of 2023, I’m thrilled to embark on a new chapter as a part of the Riverhouse team. I can’t wait to continue creating unforgettable experiences and turning dreams into reality.
- William BoweExecutive ChefWilliam “Bill” Bowe joined the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station team in 2024, bringing many years of experience in everything culinary! After graduating from Haddam-Killingworth High School, Chef Bill began his culinary journey at the Culinary Institute of America, quickly finding that he felt right at home crafting exquisite meals and strengthening the techniques he learned while cooking with his grandmother from a very young age. Upon returning to his home state, Chef Bill began working with St. Clements Castle and Marina in Portland, CT. After 18 months as a Prep Cook, Chef Bill was promoted to Assistant Chef, expanding his responsibilities with a broader range of food production and managing a team of 5 to ensure the highest food quality and efficient operations for their clients and guests. Chef Bill worked closely with the team at St. Clements, holding the positions of Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef and Vice President of Operations, and most recently and before joining the Riverhouse Goodspeed team, Estate Presentation and Purchasing Manager. Chef Bill’s attention to detail is second to none – coupled with his love of food, all clients and guests of the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station are sure to enjoy while they indulge in his various creations. Chef Bill’s particular favorites include creating new station and appetizers while working with front of the house to make sure they look as good as they taste. When he’s not preparing for or cooking at an event, Chef Bill can be found relaxing in Jewitt City on his boat with his wife Candice and children Philip, Kennedy, Lillian and William. He also enjoys gardening, woodworking and playing with the kids outside.

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station was the perfect venue for our wedding! They exceeded our expectations in every way and checked off everything we were looking for—and more. The team was incredibly responsive to our emails and helped us with every question throughout the planning process. Our wedding night was absolutely perfect—the tabletops, food, and drinks were all amazing. The staff went above and beyond, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy our evening without a single worry. We can’t recommend The Riverhouse highly enough!

Our wedding couldn’t have gone better, and it’s all thanks to the Riverhouse.
As an autistic person with sensory issues, and with many family members with allergies, it was extremely important to me that everyone got to eat at my wedding. The Riverhouse prioritizes food, and it shows. One of my family members said this was the first time he had ever gotten to eat at a wedding before, and it was the same for me! All of the food was so delicious, and so much care was taken with the allergies.
The venue is gorgeous. It screams wedding! And the autumn leaves outside were absolutely stunning. It even smells good!
And the staff is simply incredible. Not one request was denied, and everyone was endlessly warm, kind and amazing. Every question was answered promptly, and everything was so organized and easy.
The price is ridiculously good for everything you get.
My guests could not stop talking about how wonderful the staff was, how beautiful everything was, and how good the food was.
Thank you for making my wedding so amazing, Riverhouse! It was the best day of my life, and I wish I could do it all over again!

Our October 2025 wedding at The Riverhouse was nothing short of perfect. We truly couldn’t have asked for more from a wedding venue. The entire team at The Riverhouse was extremely helpful, informative, accommodating and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process from our initial tour to our wedding and everything in between. The package The Riverhouse offers is unbeatable with everything included and no extra hidden fees. The venue itself is gorgeous, the food is incredible and the staff is top notch. Our guests have continuously raved about the venue, food & staff since the wedding. Huge shoutout to Kelley who helped us throughout the entire planning process and details as well as Rob & Loretta who were our day of coordinators and made sure everything was running smoothly and we had everything we needed throughout the entire wedding day. We will forever recommend The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station to everyone we know looking for a wedding venue.

I first found the Riverhouse searching on Zola. My husband and I spoke with Holly for our initial appointment. Holly had light music playing over the speakers when we arrived, and when I walked into the ballroom and onto the dance floor, I looked at my now husband and said, “This is it, I hope they have a date in 2025 available”.
The planning process with Kelley and the team was wonderful! The worksheets that are provided make planning easy and outline all the tasks clearly. We attended their vendor show which helped us determine exactly what we were looking for in our vendors to design our perfect wedding day. Our detail meeting about a month before our wedding day was smooth and we easily made all our banquet choices. A week before our wedding, we met with Holly to ensure our day of timeline was exactly how we wanted it – she totally nailed it day of!
We have been to many weddings, and we believed that food was one of the most important parts of our day. We were blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of food at the Riverhouse. At our tasting, my husband and I ranked the appetizer, salad and dinner choices. The rankings were so high, we had trouble narrowing it down! It’s been about 3 weeks, and our guests are still complementing our food and saying how beautiful the venue was. The mac and cheese bar has been a HUGE hit with our guests.
On our wedding day, Holly and Loretta kept everything smooth and seamless and both ladies provided a calming atmosphere when things started to feel chaotic (shout out to Loretta for grabbing me tums!). It truly seemed as if all the staff at the Riverhouse enjoyed our wedding event as much as our guests did! The food service was outstanding and went right along with our timeline, our bartenders were flawless, and we totally spied a little bit of dancing going on to our music and we were absolutely overjoyed!
We would like to thank everyone at the Riverhouse for making our day amazing! We hope to see you all again sometime soon!

The Riverhouse was absolutely perfect! We got married at the end of September and the venue totally exceeded our expectations. From the very first interactions with Jim, Hattie, Kelley we knew it was where we wanted to celebrate our day. We were planning from out of state, and between every phone call or email the team was quick, attentive and beyond helpful for our many questions. The venue alone speaks for itself, it is absolutely beautiful. Having grown up right down the road, I knew it was the perfect place to host our family and friends to show them a glimpse of beautiful New England and the charm it holds being on the river. The day of coordinator, Holly, was so great and truly made the day a breeze so we were able to enjoy every second. Our guests absolutely raved about the food! Our only regret was not taking any time to try the hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour… but the following day we found out they even sent us home with a tray of them so we ended up getting to try them! Everything about this venue is top notch, it is hospitality at its finest. You will feel so special and a sense of ease having your wedding at The Riverhouse! Thank you to everyone who made our day so amazing!

The Riverhouse was beautiful but the staff was immaculate. We had support right from the beginning with clarity around pricing, process, and availability. In the time leading up to the wedding, we had open communication not only about payments but every single detail you can imagine. As a type A organized person myself, they thought of everything and truly carried the team. We dropped off all decor prior to the event; they organized everything, arranged/setup everything prior to our arrival on the wedding day, and made sure it all looked perfect. We did not worry about a thing on the day of as our day of coordinator was the best human possible; handled everything, communicated efficiently, and adapted to changes as they happened when things were out of our control, all while also being a support and biggest hype woman you can ask for. We continue to get compliments from our guests about how great the food, champagne, and cake tasted. The Riverhouse and their staff are like the grand finale of a surprise party that turned into a conga line, with unlimited queso and margs. They are the human equivalent of finding $20 in your jeans pocket while staying at an all-inclusive resort that serves endless triple fudge chocolate cake, all while not using any of your personal PTO hours. Everyone should get married like this!

Booking the Riverhouse was the best decision we made when it came to planning our wedding. From the very first tour, we felt appreciated, celebrated, and special. We couldn’t wait to book. Hattie, Kelley, and Lauren were a dream to work with. Any email did not go unanswered and their responses were timely. They not only took care of us but our families and guests. They allowed us to bring one of our family members who is autistic to see the venue before the wedding to ensure her comfort and ease her anxiety. We can’t thank them enough for their understanding. Rob was incredible during our rehearsal and wedding day. His attentiveness and professionalism was admired by us and our guests. Rob did not hesitate to make sure we or our families had whatever they needed. Loretta, our bridal attendant, went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying our day. Her kindness and attentiveness did not go unnoticed. The entire staff, bartenders and servers, were amazing. Everything turned out amazing. We couldn’t recommend the Riverhouse enough!

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at The Riverhouse in October 2024 and it was nothing short of perfect! Everyone we met who works there was very professional, helpful, and kind. We asked lots of questions throughout the wedding process and always received detailed and prompt answers. The Riverhouse staff helped make our wedding plans much less stressful, and on the day of the wedding they helped everything go smoothly. We cannot recommend them enough!

We got married at The Riverhouse in June 2024 and it was a perfect day! From our first tour with Jim we were impressed with the venue, the food and drink options, the actual venue space, and the beautiful outdoor patio that was covered. Hattie was always quick to answer my many emails with questions. The whole team was very detail oriented and we felt confident that our wedding day would run smoothly. We worked with Rob and Loretta on our actual wedding day and they were fantastic, they are both truly a huge asset to the team at The Riverhouse. Rob understood our vision for the day and was a calming presence, making sure that everything ran exactly as we envisioned. Loretta kept us on schedule, checking in with us frequently throughout the night and made sure we were eating and drinking and not missing out on anything. Our guests were all extremely impressed with the food and how organized and attentive the staff were. The covered patio was a dream to have as it rained during our ceremony and we were still able to get married outside in the setting we had planned. We are so glad we chose The Riverhouse as our wedding venue!

We celebrated our wedding at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station this past October and everything was absolutely perfect. From the planning stages to the day of the event, the team went above and beyond to ensure our day was seamless and stress-free.
Kelley and Rob were phenomenal! Kelley handled our emails and detail meeting with such care and professionalism, making sure every element was planned exactly as we envisioned. Rob, as the event coordinator, truly ran the show on the big day. His calm, confident coordination kept everything flowing smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment.
The venue itself is elegant, and while the views were nice, it was the flawless execution and the exceptional service that truly made the experience unforgettable. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, and everything felt so thoughtfully handled.

We got married at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station on 9/21/24 and it was by far the best day ever all thanks to the Riverhouse. The Riverhouse is a gorgeous venue with the most stunning ballroom and patio for the ceremony. Not only is the venue spectacular, but the staff is even better. From our first tour with Hattie, we knew immediately this was the venue for us. Throughout the whole planning process, Kelley, Lauren, and Hattie made everything so smooth and we always felt like we were in such good hands. The night of our wedding, Rob and Loretta made the night flow effortlessley and constantly were checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff truly goes above and beyond for their couples.
We also received sooooo many amazing reviews on the food and service as well. From cocktail hour, to dinner service, to bar service, everything was presented and tasted amazing. Overall, so incredibly happy with our choice to have our wedding at The Riverhouse. I cannot imagine having had it anywhere else. I could not recommend this venus enough!!!! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding! From the moment we arrived at The Riverhouse we knew it was the venue for us. The picturesque setting provided the ideal backdrop for our special day and it was ideal for our larger sized wedding.
A huge shout out to the staff—they were absolutely amazing! From the first meeting you can see how dedicated and detail oriented the Riverhouse staff is. Every detail was taken care of with such professionalism and warmth. They handled all the internal details, from linens to food and beverage, with impressive efficiency. Their flexibility made all the difference; they even accommodated our last-minute requests, ensuring everything went smoothly. We felt supported and at ease throughout the entire process. I can honestly say on my wedding day I did not have to worry about one single thing while at the Riverhouse as their day of staff were stars.

The best decision we made was to have our wedding at The Riverhouse! We knew we were in good hands on day one when we toured the beautiful venue. Jim was extremely professional, yet down to earth and interested in what our vision was. All of the staff worked closely with us throughout the entire planning process, eliminating much of the wedding planning anxiety I was feeling.
The day of the event I was treated no less then a princess, and felt like we owned the place. All of our guests raved about the quality of the food and service. Their attention to detail surpassed my expectations, and we could not have had such a perfect wedding without them. Creative Cakes by Donna took my inspiration picture for the cake and nailed it! It was an exact replica and delicious too! Bravo Riverhouse & Creative Cakes by Donna! You are outstanding!

The Riverhouse did an amazing job with my wedding. From the first contact to the actual wedding day, they never missed a step and kept me on track with everything that needed to get done. Kelley and Hattie did a great job of making sure all the details and planning were done. The final meeting with Rob put all my nerves and stress to ease he was on point with everything. The day of the wedding, Rob made sure that everything was going according to schedule and that we were happy with everything going on. He worked so well with all of our vendors to make sure that the timeline was spot on, letting us change some minor things up last minute. Rob is very professional and a huge asset to the Riverhouse.

We can't say enough great things about The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station! Our wedding was perfect. The staff was exceptional from the very first email through the wedding. Hattie and her team were so helpful and very patient during the planning process. They answered every question immediately and never made me feel like a bother. Our day of team was excellent. Holly and Loretta were SO attentive and made sure we had nothing to worry about. The venue is stunning. It rained on our wedding day and their covered patio allowed our ceremony to remain outside. Our wedding was perfect and we couldn't imagine doing it anywhere else.

We had our wedding at The Riverhouse in Haddam, CT on Labor Day weekend. From start to finish, we could not have had a better experience.
The communication throughout the year from the event planning crew was wonderful; thank you Kelley! Our event manager, Rob, was equally awesome! We met with him 2 days before to go over everything. He was professional, enthusiastic and made us feel at ease. Our "day of" attendant, Loretta, was a joy to have with us on our wedding day. She took care of us and made sure that we had everything that we needed and were where we needed to be. The entire staff and service was professional.
The bridal suite overlooks the lobby and the groom's room is downstairs, providing each group a unique space to prepare and celebrate with their bridal party.
A mock wedding food tasting is attended before you pick your menu. Everything was delicious and picking our dinner menu and passed hor d'oeuvres was so much fun!
Cocktail hour in the grand lobby is the best I have ever been to. The ballroom is spacious with a large dance floor and bar front and center. No one had to leave the party space to get a drink!
The outdoor space puts this facility over the top. From the outdoor ceremony patio to expansive deck overlooking the CT River for fun and games.
I whole heartedly recommend The Riverhouse @ Goodspeed Station. You will be spending, but it is so worth it!

We got married at The Riverhouse on 10/7/23 and would get married there 100 more times! From our first tour through our wedding day - the entire process was a breeze while working with the RH staff. It was a beautiful, perfect day despite some rain showers. Thank you, Kelley, for always responding so quickly to my many panicked emails and answering my million questions. Thank you, Holly, for being such a calming presence as our wedding day coordinator. You truly put me at ease the entire day - I was not once worried about something going wrong. Thank you, Loretta, for being such a great bridal attendant. From greeting us upon arrival to packing up our leftovers - you were beyond expectations! The food was plentiful and amazing. The entire venue is beautiful. If you’re considering The Riverhouse for your big day - book them!! :)

The BEST venue with the BEST staff we could have ever asked for. Not only was everything beautiful but they made sure our day was as perfect as possible. I always wanted somewhere we could at least have pictures by the water- it ended up being perfect for our first look without the price of waterfront. We loved how much was included in the package instead of feeling like everything was an “add on” like other venues we saw. Lauren & Kelley were so helpful and accommodating in the planning process. Loretta was so sweet and a calming presence as our helpful bridal attendant. Rob deserves so much credit for everything running so seamlessly- multiple people commented on how great he was keeping everything in order running around to meet all our needs. Food was amazing too! Hands down would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. We are eternally grateful for this place and for all the wonderful staff for the perfect day!

There are not enough kind words to describe our experience with the staff at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station. From the moment we walked in and got a tour from Jim Bucko, we were sold. Each and every person we worked with along the way, Kelley, Hattie, Lauren, Rob, Holly, Brianna, was the perfect combination of easy going professionalism. Their attention to detail and obvious expertise of all things wedding made planning our reception with them an absolute dream. There was not one single instance where I was turned off by their reactions or responses. Our guests could not stop gushing about the excellence of the food and the waitstaff. If you are lucky enough to have the Riverhouse available for your wedding reception (or literally any important event) book now! You will be so glad you did.

We were originally going to do a backyard wedding but changed our minds last minute. We are so beyond lucky that the Riverhouse had availability for the day that we were planning for, even though we made our changes so last minute (exactly a year before the day).
The Riverhouse was so beyond accommodating and helpful. They provided us with so many sources that were extremely helpful in helping us plan and ensure that everything was being done on time. Lauren, Hattie and Kelley were always quick to respond to my e-mails to answer my countless questions.
I love how they allowed us to pick from two different times (we ended up choosing the 11-4 reception slot which I highly recommend!) They were even extra accommodating in the morning by letting us come in as early as possible to ensure that everyone was ready for our 10:30 ceremony.
The food is delicious! The best part of the planning process was definitely the menu trial event that they hosted a few months before our wedding that allowed us to try almost everything on their menu so we knew exactly what our guests would be eating. It made the decision-making process so much easier.
There are so many things about the Riverhouse that stick out and make it a great wedding venue. The outdoor covered patio is great for the ceremony and still allows you to be outside even if there's a little drizzle; the idea of a kid's room downstairs is perfect if you're planning on having little ones at/in your wedding; the back patio makes for a great hangout spot throughout the reception; day of coordinators that helps your day run smoothly took all of my stress away; and we loved how there were two spots for people to get drinks during cocktail hour AND passed wine to ensure that there was no bar traffic.
I will always recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have their special day there--they are truly amazing!

If you are looking for somewhere to get married, the Riverhouse is an absolutely incredible option! Because the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all self-contained within the venue it takes a LOT of the stress off of the planning process.
The staff was amazing! From the management team who helped us plan and organize all the details to the day of catering staff who executed everything flawlessly. We and our guests felt VERY accommodated by everything the folks at the Riverhouse provided for us.
The location is gorgeous! We were able to take the short trek down the hill to the river to take photos in plenty of time to get back for the ceremony because of how close everything is. The venue gave us multiple options within where to have the ceremony which is nice. There was a good contingency plan in case of bad weather. Simply put: they are buttoned up from top to bottom and the venue, food and bar were all things we didn’t have to worry about because of the quality of everyone involved at the Riverhouse.
Our guests really loved the cocktail hour! The mac and cheese bar was a huge hit and the numerous passed hors d'oeuvres were all delicious and enjoyed by everyone! Getting married is expensive, but the Riverhouse is a good value for everything that they provide for an all-inclusive event!

Can’t recommend the Riverhouse more! It was an amazing experience. The staff was on top of everything from the tour, to the booking, to the planning and the actual wedding. They made sure everything went to plan and made us feel so special. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day and that’s mainly cause of the river house.

We couldn't recommend The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station highly enough! From booking, to planning, and everything in between the process was incredibly smooth and easy. Lauren, Kelley, and Hattie took care of everything we needed and answered all of our questions as we worked towards our wedding date. They offered advice and their opinions when we became stumped and it was clear they knew exactly what we needed to make our day the best it could be. During our tasting each member of the wait staff took their time to talk to us and was extremely friendly and helpful. That attitude only grew on our wedding night as they all tended to our guests as if they were their own. We had the pleasure of working with Matt and Rob for our day of and they went above and beyond to make our vision come true. Both of them were strategic, knew our details, and shared our excitement about our ideas and different takes to our day. We were lucky enough to work with Loretta as our bridal assistant and she continued to help us throughout the night with a continued smile and excitement for each step of our day. Everything was punctual, professional, and most of all relaxing and fun. The staff at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station made our wedding day a dream come true and we will be forever greatful for them.

We just had our wedding at this venue and it was an incredible experience. Not only is the venue gorgeous and there's a nearby area where you can take photos by the water, but the staff was so friendly and helpful. Anything we needed, a staff member was there to help or direct us to what was next. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

From the moment we stepped into the venue for the tour with Jim, working with The Riverhouse was a masterclass in how to host a wedding. We had only heard exceptional feedback about them. Nothing negative. Believe me, I looked hard to find it, too. That’s why we chose them. Now we see why. They made us feel important and comfortable every step of the way. Kelley, Hattie, Matt, and Katie were professional, responsive, and fun, and ensured we made the rounds and still had time to eat. Our attendants, Rob and Maria, made us feel like rock stars. The service and food were amazing, our guests are still raving about the hors d'oeuvres and the portion sizes at dinner. Not your typical wedding where everyone goes home hungry! We loved the food so much that we packed our leftovers up to take home. Overall, we’d say The Riverhouse venue and staff were EXCEPTIONAL!! and would highly recommend them for any occasion, especially a wedding.

I have so many good things to say about this wedding venue that I don't know where to begin. We first booked them in 2019 for a 2021 wedding that we postponed to august 2022. Jim and everyone at the venue was so nice, accommodating and understanding. The wedding day was absolutely perfect and better than I ever imagined it could be. The staff was unreasonably good, the bridal attendants were there for us and the food and drinks were on point. We did both an American and Indian ceremony and served both American and Indian food made by the chef. My indian family RAVED about the indian dinner and also all the amazing apps. If you are on the fence -THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO BOOK THEM. We have been to about 10 wedding in CT alone and THIS is the BEST venue I have ever seen hands down. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all times a million for a flawless experience and we cannot recommend this wedding venue enough.

Where do I begin? From our first tour of the Riverhouse to picking up our reception items after our wedding, from top to bottom we had the best experience working with the Riverhouse. I have NOTHING but positive things to say about all aspects of our wedding and would wholeheartedly recommend them. Everybody who we worked with was professional, extremely responsive and put us at ease every step of the way. The venue itself is beautiful, the scenery if beautiful, the food is delicious and plentiful...I could go on and on! They accommodate special requests without batting an eye. Overall -- EXCELLENT!!!!

This venue is gorgeous- classic with some rustic touches (stone wall sidings, large back deck over the forrest and river). The coordinators are beyond helpful and responsive to all wedding questions/needs. The food is great and the way they organize the bar makes it so there are no lines. We are so happy we chose the Riverhouse for our big day!

We had the absolute BEST experience with The Riverhouse, as our wedding ceremony and reception venue, and the entire team there exceeded our expectations! From the moment we met with Jim in this beautiful venue, we knew this was the right fit for us. The location is superb, with a view of the CT River, and the entire place (inside and outside) is stunning! Jim, Hattie, Kelley and the rest of the crew always made us feel welcome and special, like we were the only couple they were working with. They carried out every request that we had and our wedding was the most perfect day we could have ever asked for! The Riverhouse at Goodspeed was nothing but amazing. They were patient, kind and understanding! The crew was so easy to work with and made my day simply perfect! The set everything up to how I pictured it and made me not stressed about the day! The staff checked in on my husband and I the whole day and just wanted us to feel amazing!
The food was beyond delicious and there was so much! Everyone is still raving about how amazing the food was!

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station was AMAZING to work with. We originally scheduled our wedding for Oct. 2020. As the pandemic year went on, the entire planning staff was super transparent and accommodating leading up to the unfortunate day of postponement. When that day came, we had already chosen a "Plan B" date in 2021, so we were able transition easily into the next year.
The week of, Julie was so calm and helpful. She really made sure to check all of the boxes off during our planning meeting.
The day of was, hectic, as you can assume. There was a wedding before us, so the staff needed to flip the venue in only a couple of hours. On one hand, there were some issues with the florals for centerpieces and cake - they were just sitting there and no questions were brought up to myself or any of the wedding party asking where they'd go, and the photographer pointed out a box of lanterns that weren't out for the ceremony space. However, once the moms stepped in, the corrections were made ASAP and everything looked beautiful!
We asked the venue if we could have a private cocktail hour in the basement area for the wedding party only so my husband and I weren't immediately swarmed by guests. The venue was ALL ABOUT IT and got us our own server for drinks and appetizers during that hour.
This venue was literally MADE for weddings! Our photographers kept moving us around taking pictures everywhere because backdrops were gorgeous. The next day, we saw our guests took advantage too! There's not a bad place for a photo op anywhere on this property.
All in all, we LOVED having our wedding at The Riverhouse and would recommend it to any and every couple! Our vendors loved it, our guests loved it, food was AMAZING. Just perfection!

The PERFECT wedding venue! We had the most amazing experience at the Riverhouse and couldn't be happier! From the first time we stepped into the venue, we knew it was the place for us. From the decor, to the set up, the view off the back deck, the bridal suite, grooms room and most importantly 1 wedding at a time! It was everything we had wanted and so much more!
The communication throughout the entire process was smooth and very responsive. Hattie and Kelley were amazing to work with and got back to me within 1 day.
And then COVID hit and we were the very first wedding to be canceled. I mean 5 days away from having our wedding reception. We rescheduled 3 times after that. Kelley and the entire staff at the Riverhouse made this challenging time as easy as they could for us and for that we will be forever grateful.
And as our day approach, Julie (our banquet manager) was wonderful to work with! She was calm, reassuring and so positive! Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and so much more! And that is all thanks to the Riverhouse and their wonderful staff. We got so many amazing compliments on the venue, food and staff!
If you are looking for an amazing venue, with wonderful staff, great food and a one of a kind experience, look no further! I would recommend the Riverhouse to any couple!

From booking our wedding in 2019 to cancelling in 2020 and re-booking in 2021 The Riverhouse was amazing. Hattie and Kelley were always able to handle all questions quickly and efficiently. They were both so supportive. Prior to our wedding on our last meeting we were able to bring all of our decorations so that the staff could decorate prior to arrival on our wedding day! Everybody was so kind and made sure the day ran perfectly! All of our guest still rave about the food and the venue.

The venue was absolutely everything we wanted! The whole team worked so closely with us to ensure we had plenty of options for food allergies (myself being celiac) and accommodating our guests. The month leading up was incredibly stressful with COVID and Kelley and Hattie were so quick to respond to all my questions and concerns about ways to keep everyone safe and so the day of I was stress-free. It also helped to have the amazing support of Julie, she was on top of everything and ensured that my husband and I had the best night ever! Everyone complimented the food and the venue, it was the best!

My husband and I could not have been more thrilled with the RiverHouse. From the moment we met Jim at our initial tour, he made us feel taken care of. After looking at a few other venues, RiverHouse was hands down the way to go. The RiverHouse team has thought of every detail and make the planning process easy. Their wedding package includes everything and they allow you to personalize things within the package without upcharging (ex signature drinks, etc). Our wedding coordinator who was with us for the entire day on our wedding was incredible- she stayed on top of the weather forecast to give us the best shot of having our ceremony outside as we wanted to. Throughout the pandemic, they kept us updated on covid policies. The food was amazing and there is a ton of food throughout the day. Overall, could not have been happier with our venue- we had an outstanding wedding day with them.

Hattie and Kelley made sure all of the pre-wedding stress was limited. They were extremely responsive (even during a pandemic). Julie and Carolyn were our day of coordinators and they were absolutely AMAZING! They were prepared and made sure our wedding party was taken care of. Planning a wedding during COVID had its own unique issues but Riverhouse made sure everything went smoothly. The night went great and even the things that didnt go as planned, did not matter in the end. Thank you all!

I got married at The Riverhouse June 19th 2021 and I couldn't have picked a better location for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception! I have been a wedding planner for years, and I had very high standards for venue, catering, and service, and The Riverhouse knocked it out of the park!! Hattie and Kelley were absolutely amazing to work with. We booked during COVID (April 2020) and they kept me well informed with their policies and procedures throughout my planning process. They were quick to respond, had great ideas and made some stressful moments fun! Fast forward to the wedding day- it was incredible! Our guests are still talking about the food-it was truly amazing! The Chef worked with us to create a menu that our guests would remember, but honestly their menu and offerings don't need any changing!! Their staff was professional and moved quickly and quietly throughout the ballroom through 3 dinner courses! The ambiance throughout the Riverhouse is peaceful and elegant and my guests were blown away. It sprinkled on our wedding day and I don't think my guests even noticed (I know I didn't!). I had a bridal attendant assigned to me and my husband the day of the wedding and she lead us through the entire evening so we and my immediate family could relax and enjoy from start to finish. I cannot recommend The Riverhouse enough to anyone-you truly can't go wrong here.

My husband and I had to postpone our reception due to Covid, and Riverhouse was communicative, helpful, and supportive throughout the entire planning and replanting process. Everyone at the Riverhouse is so kind and professional, and truly works so hard to make each wedding perfect. We loved the beautiful bridal suite and groom’s suite, and the staff at Riverhouse made sure we ate, had plenty of water and drinks, and anything else we needed. The staff at Riverhouse made our big day stress-free and seamless. Everything was absolutely beautiful, and our guests loved being able to enjoy the nice weather on the deck and bridal patio.
