ppreciate constructive feedback, as we are continually striving to improve. We would like to respond to a couple of specific points: a. Everything on a client's event order (BEO) is 100% itemized. We do this to ensure that there are no misunderstandings when it comes to what was or was not supposed to be at the event. We do require that all clients review and sign off on final event details 2-weeks prior to event date. b. Regarding room setup - we did have to move the furniture so that the coordinator could setup their neon sign/grid wall, but the furniture was then moved back into place. For this specific event 5-hours of setup time was provided. c. CN Catering provides multiple quotes at the initial venue tour, at a variety of price points (including a low-basic quote, mid-tier, and high end, all designed to show each client where they can start and where they can end up). There is a 37+ page menu available , and final menu selections are not due until 2-weeks before event date. All clients have 100% freedom to adjust their menu throughout the planning process. d. Clients are allowed to provide their own decor, and we ask that all items are removed at the end of each event. Once we were were informed that items were missing, we checked storage and did not find any items left behind. The Room on Main does not provide decor for any events so it is very evident when items are left by clients. Thank you once again for hosting your event with The Room on Main! Reviews with factual information, especially ones that are not always flattering, are always taken seriously, as we are always striving to improve our service. Unfortunately this review contains a number of misleading statements, and some outright falsehoods. 1. We are certainly not disorganized. All clients, from initial tour to event completion, are handled professionally by a dedicated event manager. Food tastings, planning meetings, final walkthroughs, rehearsals, as well as event are attended by this event manager. All contracts are sent electronically, payments can be made on-line, and quote revisions are handled promptly. 2. Pricing – all pricing, for ALL services, are itemized on our proposals at every point throughout the planning process. All taxes, as well as applicable gratuity, are listed on every proposal, from initial quote to final quote. We do not “nickel and dime”, if fact, quite the opposite. No cake cutting fees, deceptive “service charges”, etc. All clients have an opportunity to review and approve any and all changes to their proposal before being charged. Regarding this clients specific complaints: 1. Liquor – client asked us to source some specialty bottles of tequila. We presented him with a quote with the bottles added as an individual line item with the price included. This was done WEEKS before the event date. At no point did the client ask about pricing, and in fact signed off on this proposal. It was not until the following week, AFTER the event, that he raised an objection. Internal emails with the client support our version of events. We never had a conversation about pricing until after the event had been paid for and completed. Our pricing is in-line with any bar, club, or restaurant, and in fact is below industry standard when calculating a “by the glass” price. 2. Extended Time – client asked to extend by one hour towards the end of their event, and we willingly agreed. We were able to provide all pricing that would be charged, with the only stipulations being tax and gratuity will need to be calculated and added once we were back in the office. Everyone knows sales tax is 8.25% (and we are required to charge), and client is already aware of the 15% gratuity on the beverage portion of the bill. We even went out of our way to get a head count of 60 guests in that moment, so as not to over-charge the client for the guests that had already left for the evening. Hardly Predatory…. As always, our goal is 100% client satisfaction. Whenever we fall short of this goal we will own it, and work even harder to improve in the future. In this case we are not willing to agree with anything written by this client, and stand on our reputation as one of Dallas’ premiere event venues.
