We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception here and are really happy we did! I loved the industrial feel, the brick wall, and lighting around the ceiling. We used room A for the ceremony and had half of the divider wall set up to make and isle coming from room B which we used for our reception. One of the deciding factors for this venue was being able to pick our own caterer. This saved us a ton of money and is really a stand out feature of the venue. We were able to visit the venue multiple times without difficulty because they offer many open houses throughout the week. A few weeks prior to the event we made a floor plan with one of the hostess and she was very helpful! We ended up purchasing room A for Friday night for the rehearsal. I understand that not a lot of people host ceremonies here but it would have been nice if this was included like it is at many other venues. They offer the room for free the day before your event if no one has booked it, but you don't find out until the week of your event. The day before our wedding there was a very large storage container parked on the outdoor patio, I'm not sure how they pulled it off, but they did, and the container was gone the next day! The hostess of our event was rude to multiple people. Luckily there was to much going on for me to really care but I did get a voicemail from her after we left the wedding to come get our forgotten items or we would lose our security deposit. My florist said she tried to take all of our forgotten items but the hostess would not let her. Thankfully, they held all of our stuff for us and I was able to pick it up. Overall, The Royal did an amazing job and we would choose them again for our wedding day!
My fiancé and I fell in love with this venue as soon as we saw it for the first time. It was exactly what we pictured for the style of our wedding, and the price couldn't be beat. Carla was easy to work with and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. It turned out beautiful!
We held my daughters wedding reception at the Royal Banquet Hall with 250 guests. It is an ideal venue with a very accommodating staff. It allows you options that other venues don't allow. We were able to bring our own caterer as well as provide our own beer and wine. If you are willing to put in a little effort on your own, you can have a first class event without the cost of a big budget wedding. Nice doesn't always need to be expensive. Parking was a bit of an issue only because it was the final night of the ACC Tournament and we had 250 guests;however, no one was ticketed and eventually everyone found a spot.
We chose to host our post-wedding party (after our destination wedding) at The Royal on a Friday night. As the Royal is a venue that is not a caterer, you have a lot of options when hosting your event there. You are able to find the caterer that fits your tastes as well as your budget. Another huge plus for The Royal is that you can provide your own alcohol as long as the bar tenders are insured (ours were hired through our catering company). By bringing your own alcohol, you are able to save a huge amount of money. The facility is nice and the owners are happy to work with you.
he venue is gorgeous, unique (no one knows what to expect from the buildings outside appearance), and spacious. We rented the whole hall for our Wedding Reception, and a lot of the customary rentals (tables/chairs and cocktail tables) came as part of the price. The only complaint I had was with the "Hostess" they provided. They DID NOT do what they were supposed to (Greet Guests, Show Them Where the Guestbook was - right on their desk! - and keep out "Crashers"). We had some people sneak-in from the bar next for and snag food (they were in FOOTBALL JERSEYS!!!) and we ended up having to announce to our guests that we had a guestbook half-way through the night because NO ONE had signed it. The main event planner (Carla) is really nice though. Other than that (and in the end the hostess issue wasn't too big a deal) the venue is GREAT!
The Royal was everything a person could ask for in a wedding/reception venue. The staff was fantastic...they fully accommodated every request we had for our special day. We had a Friday evening wedding in one room and our reception in the adjacent room at The Royal. It is a classic and historic site and the decor is such that you need very little additional decorations. This is by far the best value for your money in Raleigh, NC!
The Royal is in the old Wonderbread bakery and it has the feel of a loft with high ceilings exposed duct work and an exposed brick wall. It is also reasonably priced.
