We LOVED having our ceremony here. The wedding planners are amazing! (shout-out to Maurisa & Pam, especially) The spaces were beautiful and so well decorated. Doing our wedding here was easy, and gorgeous and having Maurisa made my wedding planning so very, very easy. We got married at Nohea Point (but almost did Sunset Cove) and it was private and beautiful. We did sunset pictures at Sunset Cove and it was amazing. RKR wedding people were super accommodating to help my uncle get to and from the ceremony space and the luau space. They also made sure there were accommodations for a couple special food restrictions my guests needed.
The resort is within walking distance of so many great food spots that most of our guests didn't need a car if they didn't want to explore on their own. Many of them carpooled with others on adventures, but there was enough within a 5-10 minute walk that a car was not necessary. You aren't 'stuck' in the resort like you are in some of those other resorts (e.g. up in Waikaloa). This was the BEST way to get both the opportunity to stay at a beautiful resort but also get to experience Kona / Hawaii. I would get married here every time, this was a dream! Dream wedding, dream wedding planners. Hiccups: the only thing is that the wedding planners are separate from the resort itself. The resort (hotel) doesn't help coordinate with rooms, the discount for rooms is not very much and there's not much the (amazing) wedding planning people can do to help make that better, so you will have to deal with the hotel side completely separately from the wedding planning stuff. Also of note: You have to bring your own photographer & hair/makeup. I HIGHLY recommend Dawn Eicher for photography and Grace (Indigo Grace Artistry) for your Hair and Makeup. They're both phenomenal humans.
I’ll start by saying that I was a #coronabride. This meaning I got married during the strange time between when the virus hit the US but literally one weekend before most states were on “stay inside” rules. I will say that throughout this stressful time with the news changing every single day, the Royal Kona romance center was on top of staying in contact with me and ensuring me that this event was going to happen. They kept my vendors on deck as well. Even during this trying time, their focus was on our satisfaction and happiness for our wedding. The ceremony spot “Nohea Point” is breathtaking. The reception spot “Sunset Cove” is as well. My guest count went from 80 down to 38 within a matter of basically 72 hours. The romance center worked with me to ensure that I would be refunded for the guest count drop due to the crazy circumstances surround the wedding. My day of coordinator made sure that she was in super high spirits and just keeping the party going throughout the reception. She was super helpful in handling all the last minute changes with wedding party and events as the guest count dwindled. For the most part, from when I landed until when I departed the island (early after cancelling my honeymoon) I did not have to lift a finger in terms of planning, set up, take down. It was extremely important to the romance center that we were able to focus on getting married and not have to worry about any additional stressors on top of what we already had going on with the virus news. Although, I believe the whole crew would ensure any bride and groom not have to lift a finger once they have arrived, and this makes the venue very special in my eyes. The florist included with my Alii Package was amazing. I sent a few pictures of my dream bouquet and centerpieces, and when I showed up on my wedding day they were more beautiful than I could have imagined.
I deduct one star only because I booked my wedding in January of 2019 (wedding date in March of 2020), and there was a major turnover in staff at the Romance Center during this time. As that happened there was no communication to me about this until I reached out several times with questions and finally received this news. With that said, I will note that I think the current staff is miles above the previous staff in terms of communication, ease of planning, and even setting up decor etc (from what I’ve seen in pictures).
If you’re planning a destination wedding on the Big Island, I would absolutely recommend Royal Kona Resort. They have very reasonably priced packages for weddings of varying sizes. The staff is great, the venue is beautiful. It was a wonderful day even amidst the chaos of March 2020.
We were married at Nohea Point rhusbywar. the Royal Kona team made sure all of the details were perfect. It was honestly the best day due their follow up, attention to detail, and the recommendation of vendors. I am so glad we chose to get married at the Royal Kona Resort. ♥️
Couldn’t be happier we had our wedding at the Royal Kona! Keala was phenomenal and the whole day-of team handled everything so well when it started raining. Our wedding was beautiful and the rehearsal dinner was unforgettable.
My husband and I were married at the Royal Kona Resort on September 30th. Both of us were impressed with the quality and attention to detail that was given to our big day. Criste Ching exceeded our expectations with all that she did as our wedding planner and day of coordinator. Every employee that we interacted with was kind and welcoming. We felt as if we were leaving our Ohana when we had to leave at the conclusion of our honeymoon. We would definitely recommend the Royal Kona Resort for a wedding venue!
The team at Royal Kona's Romance Center, indeed, all of the Royal Kona hospitality team are the Very Best! From the first meeting in January (2018) to our wedding in late September Ashley and her team have been exceptional in helping us with the wedding planning process, the vendor selection, the incredible entertainment and the final event.
The entire group of wedding guests join Jim and I in thanking the Team at Royal Kona Resort for the "Best Wedding They Have Every Been To”! We all had a great time and I heard the quote above more times than people who attended.
The flow and cadence of the evening was perfect, Coleman Kealoha Kaopua ‘Our Officiant’ was magical, the food & beverages were superb, the Luau show and performers were unbeleavably great and the whole evening became one of the most beautiful and memory producing events of our lives.
We are extremely grateful to you and all on the Royal Kona Resort team for the many varied talents and expertise that went into putting our wedding together! We now know the true meaning of 'Aloha’.
If you are getting married on Big Island in kona, you cannot fonwrong with the breathtaking views at the venue at Royal Kona Resort. Officiant Thomas will complete your Hawaiian experience and exceed your expectations to the fullest. The music by Bula was perfectly moving. Definitely have Bula perform “Over the Rainbow”!!! We finished off the wedding celebration with their Luau. You cannot miss this amazing event to make your important day complete. We will be back to visit for our future anniversaries to come, even though we will never forget the day the team at Royal Kona Resort created for us and our family. Thank you to the awesome team at the Royal Kona Resort. Mahalo!
It was a blessing for us to be referred to the Royal Kona Resort for our wedding. From day one the whole team was very responsive and supportive. It was wonderful having everything in the hands of the team at Royal Kona Resort and not need to worry about one thing (Go Ashley and Kim!).
Their quality of service was outstanding, and many of our guests admired how well everything was run. I can't say enough about how perfect everything was and how we didn't feel any ounce of stress! The packages were perfectly affordable for us as well.
My husband and I were so impressed with the Royal Kona. We didn’t have to worry about anything! The weddings planners were wonderful and we could not have been happier with the results of our wedding.
We had so much fun during our wedding week at Royal Kona Resort! I mmediatley wished we could have our wedding on repeat everyday!!! Everything went simply perfect thanks to our wedding coordinator Ashley, Mia (make-up) and Lauren (hair) and the crew at the Royal Kona.
It can be hard organising a wedding from over seas, but the lovely ladies at Royal Kona made it so easy for my partner and I with their professionalism and trusted knowledge! The venue set up, service, buffet menu and everything else was a dream come true and such a magical night. Royal Kona was a beautiful place to get married and my partner and I will be back for our anniversary! Thanks ladies X
We were just married at the Royal Kona Resort on 10/6/18 in a stunning private lagoon ceremony. My wedding coordinator, Ashley, coordinated every last detail. She took ALL of the stress of the wedding planning and streamlined the entire process. Our ceremony was followed by a spectacular private sunset dinner atop a hill overlooking the same private lagoon. We had a private chef, private butler and private musician for our dinner. Every last detail was executed with perfection! Throughout our wedding day, EVERY person enlisted for our wedding services (wedding coordinator, officiant, photographer, assistant photographer, videographer, florist, chef, butler and musician) provided personalized, professional, courteous, friendly and enthusiastic service. We felt like we were the only people at the resort! Combine amazing service with a picturesque and stunning location/venue minus the headache of wedding planning and you get a destination wedding delight! Thank you to Royal Kona Resort and staff for providing such a wonderful destination wedding experience!!! We were so thrilled that we opted to have a 14 day destination wedding/honeymoon instead of the usual 1 day traditional wedding back home! We look forward to celebrating anniversaries in the years to come at the Royal Kona Resort. I STRONGLY recommend Royal Kona Resort for your destination wedding!!!
It was truly a magical night. Leslie was our main coordinator with Ashley and Kelsy helping the day of. At one point I looked down off the hotel balcony and saw Leslie at the reception site decorating and coordinating. After the night had ended and everything settled there is no doubt in mind it takes the entire team to make the whole thing go off without a hitch... No pun intended.... From hair/make-up to decorations and dinner, to the DJ and Bula It was all perfect. We had over 30 of us and everyone (including those already married) said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to. Obviously I am biased. So.... Thank you Leslie, Ashley, Kelsey and the entire team including Bula (who is amazing), Patrick, Karen...... The list goes on.
I am so glad we chose Royal Kona Resort to host our wedding. Kimberly was amazing in answering all my questions very quickly and in great detail. She is so friendly over email, and I'm glad I was able to meet her in person before her last day working there. Ashley was wonderful on site, helping us with the rehearsal and making the ceremony go smoothly. She got my wedding group great seats together so we were able to enjoy the luau unobstructed. I would definitely recommend anyone to have their wedding here. The best. Thank you!
My husband and I have recently been married at the Royal Kona Resort and it was fantastic! We could not fault the timely communications and all the support we received leading up to the day let alone how the team managed and coordinated the actual wedding day! It was perfect from start to finish. Everyone involved was extremely professional but friendly and we could not have wished for more. Everything was completed via email and they captured exactly what we hoped for, especially the wedding flowers, centrepieces, and decorations. Nothing was rushed or forced the team totally supported our vision throughout the whole process. We would thoroughly recommend the Royal Kona Resort and their fabulous Wedding Team you will not be disappointed as the setting and effort placed on making us feel special was magical, so thank you so much!
My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our wedding at the Royal Kona Resort! It got a little bumpy with our wedding planner leaving the resort about a month before the wedding, but it was a blessing in disguise (no offense to anyone). We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Ashley! She took over as our planner, and she picked up right where our other planner left off. Ashley and her team (Kayli and Kealea) were really professional and paid attention to detail! They were thorough in our prewedding meeting as well as the rehearsal. The two brides felt SO relaxed before the wedding, because we were in good hands. Even though we started almost an hour late, we didn’t feel rushed or pressured. They were all cool, calm and collected. Thank you!!
We also loved all the vendors that were provided to us in our package...Michaela, Bula, our hula dancer, and even the photo booth. There was one small mix up with the selection of vodka, but Ashley went up and beyond to ensure that it was rectified.
Thank you again Ashley and team! We would definitely recommend this venue 100%!! The view from our room was also stunning!! No complaints here!! Again, mahalo!
This place has such a great Hawai’ian feel. The Private Lagoon is a perfectly intimate, almost hidden beach, wonderful for a ceremony. And the Sunset Cove sunsets cannot be beat.
As a photographer myself, I have the honor of working here a lot, and it’s one of my favorite places to photograph.
I also cannot say enough about Ashley, the lead coordinator. She is seriously the best on the island. No detail will be forgotten, and your stress level will be nonexistent.
I’d highly recommend having your wedding here!
We were married in August at the Royal Kona resort at the private lagoon. It is a truly beautiful location. It was wonderful and very easy to work with the staff in the beginning to work out the details having never been to the Royal Kona before.
As we got closer to the wedding date, 3 weeks out on island, communication almost completely stopped from our planner. We were very lucky when we called another lady answered the phone and not only did she answer our questions, but was able to make a couple modifications (cake/table placement, champagne location) that changed our whole wedding for the better and addressed our biggest concerns. Because of of this I am give a three star review however there are many other positive things that happened around this experience that almost make up for the poor communication.
The day of the wedding, I was reviewing the boutonnieres for the guys and realized I was one short. My fault, I miscounted. Pretty upset with myself, one of the ladies in the Romance Center went no problem, I'll make one now. Within 5 minutes she had created the missing boutonniere and the day was saved.
Which leads me to the flowers. The florist nailed the look I wanted and went above and beyond. We were both blown away by the flowers. They were incredible, just stunning. This lady knows her flowers and just captured everything I wanted and more.
This then leads to our day of coordinator. Because of the communication issues we were having, we were both very unsure of how the wedding was going to go. The day of wedding coordinate put both our minds to ease and let us know there wasn't going to any problems.
Overall, you cannot find a more beautiful place to be married. Spend the extra money, do the lagoon and have the private feel. Where one person may lack at the Royal Kona, the team makes it work. Our day was perfect.
Royal Kona Resort was amazing. The wedding coordinator communicated very well! Every time I had a question they would be quick to respond. If I wasn't happy with something or needed to add something to the wedding they were quick to fix my problem right away. They were helpful and I would defiantly recommend them . The resort was gorgeous and my pictures came out so pretty cause of the background. I was a happy bride .
Well done. Seriously, if I could give the resort higher than a 5/5 rating I would instantly do it. They far exceeded my expectations as the food was great, the wedding planning went smoothly, and the whole experience was everything I had imagined and more. The wedding planners and on site coordinator really helped make everything fantastic. If you are hesitant about having a destination wedding, this is the place to go.
I knew I wanted to have my wedding in Kona, just not sure where. I chose the Royal Kona Resort mainly because I knew the area of Alii Drive and it seemed like a great resort that most of my family and friends could afford. I also liked the packages the RKR offered as I was on a budget. We got married on March 29, 2018 and it was the most spectacular day of our lives and our family and friends are still saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The Royal Kona wedding team was above and beyond my expectations. I mostly worked with Leslie Fumo, but I know the whole team works together to take care of their brides. I had to plan mostly over email and everything went incredibly smoothly considering long-distance planning. My coordinator, Leslie, was incredibly responsive and patient with me. I wish I could start it all over again. We chose to get married at the Nohea Point and have the reception at the Coconut Grove with around 50 guests. The resort is GORGEOUS and perfect. The venues we chose were simply beautiful. We had both a dj and ukulele player. The food was maybe the best food I had ever had at a wedding and the cake was so good too. It was hard as a bride to not know for sure how all the details will pan out... not to be able to see the flowers in person, or taste the food, but I was BLOWN AWAY. It was the most perfect place to have our wedding.
Our wedding was on 12/1/17 & the RKR staff as well as vendors were great people to work with. We are from MD and were planning all the details from afar which made me nervous but Ashley, Kayli, Kim and the whole team were great about answering all my questions. They are on another time zone so be gracious with giving time for their responses because they are not at work at 6 AM EST. :)
I am a vert Type A personality and the ladies took it all in stride and helped me with each and every question I had and were great to make changes and adjustments with.
Our ceremony was at Nohea Point and it's an ideal spot for a small ceremony. There is privacy with a view like none other. Kayli was with us all day and night and we so appreciated her presence. She made sure things ran smoothly and on time and even handed me an extra tissue when I lost it before my baby brother walked me down the aisle. Our reception started with a luau which we recommend 110%. For $2K you get a private show that you and your guests will be talking about for years and years. We seriously dared anyone to top it!
While we had small hiccups and miscommunications along the way I feel that is to be expected and everything was resolved to our liking, even after the event when I expressed some concerns about our DJ and bar. My largest note to future brides at this location would be to just speak up. If you want a signature cocktail- say so. If you want time after your first dance to relax- say so. Kayli and her team can make these things happen for you or give you great alternatives. Some of the upgrades (lighting, etc.) were overpriced in my opinion but the overall product was wonderful. If there are specific songs you want to hear at your reception I would express this to your wedding planner AND DJ outside of the DJ documents.
Hawaii is an experience like nothing else and RKR was a great way for us to let our friends and family enjoy it, many for the first time.
We will not regret entrusting our special day to the team at Royal Kona Resort.
I organized my sister's wedding and it could not have been better. Kayli and Crystal made everything super easy and were a delight to work with on this important event. The food was great, flowers were beautiful, and everyone had a great time. A few things came up here and there, but Crystal was super helpful in coming up with alternatives. The only disappointment was that the disco ball was a little lame at the Sunset Cove location. That was a very small disappointment, though, and overall we thought that the hotel did an incredible job! Thanks so much for making this the special event we hoped for!!
The venue was amazing and the food and services were wonderful as well. The only reason for not giving the Resort five stars is the communication from first contact, leading up to the wedding. I would have liked a more proactive approach and defined timeline for completing the required steps from the wedding coordinator and more timely responses with questions I had.
We had our wedding May 20th 2017 at the Royal Kona Resort. And not only was the wedding the most amazing day of our life but so was the entire stay. The grounds at the Royal Kona are absolutely stunning. And it is literally a 5 minute walk to down town Kona.
Kayli Towler and the entire Romance Center went beyond any expectation I had. We had our ceremony down on a private lagoon. And our officiant Tomasi was hands down a highlight of the night with his conch shell blowing and Hawaiian oath we had to say to each other . Everything went perfect. From the ceremony, flowers, drinks all the way to the food and lighting. Our Emcee Hawaii Sound and Vision was one of the best emcee's ever. Played all the good jams. Everyone at the Romance center created an environment that brought so much love and good energy towards us that I wish I could relive that day over and over again.
I had the wedding of my dreams here. I started dealing with Kayli Towler at the Royal Kona Romance centre a year before my wedding. Planning a wedding via email and phone calls can be a bit nerve recking. Everything was perfect Kayli went above and beyond to my our day special. The flowers were spectacular and the location was amazing.
Thanks forever Candice Galamini
I had my wedding this July at Royal Kona Resort, and it went amazingly well. The resort is beautiful, and the details of the wedding were smoothly coordinated, thanks to wedding coordinators Ashley and Kayli. I didn't visit beforehand and only arrived 2 days before the wedding. Everything was planned through email, with a couple of phone calls interspersed. It was made very easy - just got to fill out a questionnaire, and worked out the details as we went. I had my ceremony at nohea point, which is a lovely garden, and my reception at sunset cove, where the sunset was truly beautiful. I had read some bad things about the rooms at the resort before going, but I thought they were nice. A little outdated, but still cute. I had about 35 guests, and nothing went wrong with the requests I had for the room reservations. My photographer Sheri Lynn was amazing (she came as part of the wedding package). I wasn't planning on buying all the photos, but when I saw them later I had to buy all of them (which turned out to be a correct choice, since I ended up paying a lot less than if I had gotten them in the beginning). My wedding officiant, Tomasi, was also extraordinary. I loved the hawaiian elements of the wedding. The food was great. My friend was allergic to many things, and the chef was very accommodating and made her a separate plate. My only complaint is the DJ! She did not know what she was doing at all, did not follow the itinerary I provided, and made things very awkward at the dinner reception. My sister had to take over at one point! But besides that, I'm very happy with how the wedding turned out. And the overall price is very fair. Would strongly recommend for any romantic who wants a beautiful dreamy wedding!
We had our wedding at the Royal Kona on 8/1/16 and it was PERFCT! Our wedding coordinator Kayli Towler was amazing, she took care of every possible detail and even found a hair stylist to come to my room at the last minute (an hour before the wedding!) to do my hair. the ceremony was perfect, We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue. The musician that played the Uke for our ceremony is so talented, Bula Akuma has an amazing voice, he helped make the ceremony really special. We chose to have a dinner and private luau instead of a traditional ceremony. We where expecting a few dancers and a nice dinner but what we got was so much more than we (or our guests) ever expected! The show was amazing and the food was so ono! Our guests where blown away by everything! While we where taking photos the dancers taught our guest to make leis, showed them hula moves and even showed them some fire knife moves! We have always loved the Royal Kona and have always had great personal service but what we got for our wedding went above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. Kayli is a miracle worker!!!
Dancing on the beach as waves crashed volcanic rocks! Truly a magical wedding night at the Sunset Cove venue at the Royal Kona. The location was perfect for our intimate wedding. Food, drinks and support was amazing. Kayli did an awesome job of helping us before, during and after the wedding! We highly recommend for you to consider Royal Kona for your wedding reception.
Since this was a destination wedding it was hard to be in Texas and plan a wedding in Hawaii. I was quite nervous that the venue would not look like the pictures or that everything I had envisioned would be wrong but I was so pleased that when we arrived, everything was even better than I had hoped. The food was delicious, the ceremony site was beautiful, the reception was perfect, and everything went off so smoothly. I am very pleased we chose to get married here and if we had to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing.
The Royal Kona Resort was the perfect location for our wedding. We planned the wedding in less than a month, and Ashley and Kayli were so flexible and helpful the whole time. They made sure every one of our requests was made. They communicated everything to us in a timely manner. The private lagoon was an absolutely beautiful location for the ceremony. Lucky for us, the weather was perfect and everything was so picturesque. I honestly cannot think of anything negative that occurred during our wedding process.
Our wedding at Royal Kona was perfect! It was so much more than we ever imagined it would be from the start. Kayli made it easy to plan from a distance. She was responsive to all of our questions and needs and made everything flow smoothly. Derek was amazing as an officiant. The service was exactly what we wanted, even though we only met him moments before the ceremony. Keoni Thompson provided fantastic ceremony music, in addition to at the reception. Ranae Keane captured the whole event in pictures that made our jaws drop open upon seeing how beautiful they were. The hotel staff was fantastic and greeted us daily with enthusiasm. You won't go wrong having your wedding at The Royal Kona Resort!
Our Wedding was absolutely beautiful! You don't often hear about someones wedding going off perfectly, but ours really did (despite our Best Man dropping out last minute). The music, the food, the drinks, the decorations, the cake, everything was perfect. My only regret is not eating more. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much. Thank you so much!
My husband and I got married at the Royal Kona Resort in May 2015! Th Private Lagoon was beautiful for the ceremony and Coconut Grove was a great place for the reception. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive.
I can't speak highly enough of our photographer Renae! She was recommend to us by Ashley the wedding coordinator. The photos were beyond beautiful and Renae was such a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend using her as your photographer.
Michelle and Krill with Innasate Studios did our wedding videography. Again another great recommendation from Ashley. They did a great job capturing our special day and Michelle made sure we were 100% satisfied with the videos.
The girls who did our make-up and hair were just okay. They came to our hotel room which was awesome but the girl doing my makeup and hair seemed distracted. She was on her cell phone and I felt like she was rushing. I also wish she stayed throughout the whole wedding to re-apply. My face makeup was completely gone by the beginning of the reception. Also she didn't offer airbrushed makeup which I was told she did.
We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which had an amazing view! The room was a little out dated which is why I'm giving 4 stars. The bathroom is small and the shower didn't have great water pressure. However we had such an amazing time at our wedding thanks to Ashley, Renae, Michelle, and the entire staff at the Royal Kona Resort!
A wonderful place to get married but might want to consider another Resort for your honeymoon stay.
Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. The location of the venue gorgeous, right on the water. The gorgeous water make for a beautiful backdrop. The sunsets here are unreal. Our wedding pictures are soo beautiful. Completely glad that I chose this venue. For future brides, just know that this venue and other vendors in the area are not cheap. The packages on the site seem nice and affordable but there are lots of additions that quickly adds up. I worked with Kayli who was very professional and personable. She was very helpful on the wedding day and ensured that we had the wedding of our dreams. I recommend this venue.
We just had our wedding at the Royal Kona. We had done their wedding ceremony and reception package. It was amazing. It came with a wedding planner and a 5 night stay. Kayli had everything laid out for us in laments terms and was easily accesible through the phone or email. The packages are also very customizable. I thought trying to plan for a wedding from Texas was stressful. Kayli set out timetables of when certain items needed to be sent. Also, we had some last minute changes that she was able to accomodate for us. Luckily it didn't rain during our ceremony, but it had for our reception. Kayli thought ahead and it still looked marvelous.
Amazing Wedding at Royal Kona Resort! Everything turned out great! Wedding planner Ashley was very helpful. Being a destination wedding, we got to pick & choose what we wanted ahead of time. It all came to life & was beautiful.
Our wedding at The Royal Kona Resort really exceeded our expectations. We were skeptical about planning a destination wedding via emails and phone calls. However Ashley and Brian were very professional, timely in answering all questions, even making helpful suggestions. This made all the difference in accomplishing a beautiful wedding celebration. The ceremony and reception was gorgeous over looking the ocean at the Nohea Point & Alii Terrace. If I had to say some Cons about this wedding venue it would be that the food for the reception could have been a little tastier. We chose the "Cymbidium" plated dinners. The DJ for the reception had a little trouble with the equipment in the beginning and seem to be a little inexperienced. When planning your destination wedding be prepared for add-ons, they do offer nice prearranged packages however read carefully because it is not all inclusive (but still very reasonable). Overall everything else was absolutely perfect!
My Husband and I loved our stay at the Royal Kona. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The central location was wonderful because we were able to walk to tones of fantastic restaurants and shops.
Brandi's Nail Creations at the Kona Royal result did a gorgeous job with my nails. Brandi was very quick (I had a short time limit) and also was very friendly. The quality was still amazing. Definitely recommend.
We recently had our ceremony & rehearsal at The Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have to say Brian and Ashley were amazing partners to work with! We had Brian to start and when he left for vacation I was a bit concerned as all of our rapport and preferences were shared with Brian. But Ashley was amazing and jumped right in providing stellar service. She had great ideas, was always open to share her opinion on locations/set-up (as I had not seen the location prior to the wedding day). I would highly recommend The Royal Kona Resort and the great wedding planning staff to plan your wedding! Plus you can't beat the views!
When I decided to have my wedding in Hawaii and do a destination wedding I really thought it would be really stressful. Ashley, Brian and Karen were all amazing and very helpful! They always answered every little question I had and I had a lot! They made sure my wedding was perfect and beautiful! I couldn't have asked for better people to handle my big day! Ashley turned all of my ideas into reality even a few last minute things I added. It's scary planning a wedding in a place you've never been with people you don't know but it turned out perfect!
My husband and I traveled from Massachusetts for our wedding last November. We too did all our correspondence with Brian from the romance center. Everything was so easy, he set up the flowers, the hair and make up appointment, the musician and luau table! We also stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks and were very comfortable. It could not have been a better wedding or trip!!
The Royal Kona Resort was the perfect wedding venue. We did a package deal through them and everything was taken care of. My husband and I were off island at the time so our wedding coordinator emailed us straightforward questions and the final product was a stress-free gorgeous wedding at Sunset Cove.
We were very pleased with our wedding at the Royal Kona Resort. Because we live in Alaska, we did all of our planning and coordination via email and phone. Brian was our wedding coordinator, and he did an amazing job answering my many questions and handling all the details. Once we arrived in Kona, we met him and saw the venue and knew that everything was going to be perfect-- and it was. They have a list of vendors they work with (florist, photographers, hair/make-up, you name it) and charge $100 for each outside vendor that isn't one of theirs. For that reason we chose to stick with all their regular vendors and were very happy with all of them-- but a little disappointed with the officiant. Patrick was our officiant, and is their only officiant that doesn't cost extra. He seemed to struggle with our personalized vows and was a bit chatty during the ceremony. Overall- I would go with him only if you are going to stick to his regular ceremony script-- the parts we kept of his were very smooth. The ukele player, food, DJ and dancing in the sand were amazing! Be aware that the package deals are not as all-inclusive as they appear initially- there are lots of add ons that really seem to add up, as I am sure is true of every venue. Overall, we had a wonderful time and the Royal Kona Resort is definitely somewhere I would recommend-- they truly know what they are doing.
Perfectly comfortable and clean, helpful workers, and walking distance to all the shopping that you might wish to do in the Historic Village. Nice ocean views, rather small pool, but scenic seating in the lounge and restaurant.
Ashley our wedding planner made our wedding truly unforgettable. I have been told that no wedding day is perfect, well there was not one thing i would have changed about mine... it was PERFECT. weather was great, locations for the ceremony and reception beautiful, flowers were just what i wanted. i really could not have asked for more. Ashley really went ABOVE AND BEYOND!! THANK YOU ROYAL KONA.
The Romance Center at Royal Kona Resort was great to work with and made it very easy to plan a wedding. We live in Alaska and relied on email to make our arrangements. The prices are great, food, dessert and wedding cake were fantastic, and our location for the ceremony and reception were perfect. There is also an In-House salon and day-rooms for getting ready on the wedding day, "Friends Kona." Overall, we were very happy with our experience at the Royal Kona Resort Romance Center.
This place offered the best and more in every aspect. Our wedding was amazing and beyond our expectations. It was great to have everything included in our package. We couldn't ask for better wedding coordinators, Ashley & Karen. They went above and beyond for us. The resort is gorgeous. We would definitly recommend this to future brides. We can't wait to go back.
