Fantastic ballroom- huge windows with a beautiful view overlooking the river with the Boston skyline in the background. We had about 240 guests and plenty of room. The staff and e...
vent coordinators were excellent and very attentive. We were especially impressed with what came included with the package- Chiavari chairs and linens in multiple styles/colors. Cake was included as well! The food was incredible. Many guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We did our welcome event there the night before at Monteverdi which had amazing food that my family is still raving about. Our families don't drink alcohol and the Sonesta put together a soda bar with a signature mocktail, and they also threw in some sparkling apple cider for the toasts. Great location for visiting guests that want to site see. A very easy place to host a large wedding in Boston!
Our wedding was everything I wanted! Christopher Parsons with The Royal Sonesta was outstanding in coordinating every detail of our wedding. Whenever I made a decision, I trusted C...
hristopher would execute it flawlessly. Every staff member we encountered throughout the wedding weekend was professional and accommodating.
The food was delicious, set up was correct, and the event was timely. When issues came up (not enough printed menus, table size did not match the linens), Christopher and his staff handled it!
We got married at the Sonesta on 06/21/2025 and the day could have not been more flawless. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff works so well with you to make sure you vi...
sion is met, particularly Christopher. You can tell they want the day to be a success as much as you do and they celebrate the wins of the day alongside you! From the suites we stayed in to the ceremony and reception space everything looked beautiful and made for a fantastic venue space for our day with an amazing view of the Boston skyline as well! The food options were all fantastic as well and they really work with you to accommodate dietary restrictions which you don’t often see in a venue. I couldn’t recommend them enough!
We held our wedding at the Royal Sonesta in August of 2023 and we cannot say enough kind things about the venue or the staff! The entire weekend was absolutely perfect thanks to Bi...
anca and her team. Every last detail was thought of and executed, they truly made wedding planning fun and easy! A year later and guests are still raving about the beautiful views, the spectacular food, and the exceptional service throughout the hotel! We will never be able to thank Bianca and all of the staff at the Royal Sonesta enough for making our wedding weekend one we will always remember!
We cannot say enough good things about the Royal Sonesta!!! We had a large wedding (170 people) in the grand ballroom and worked with Bianca Dickey as our coordinator. She was inc...
redibly attentive, communicative throughout the entire process, and made sure everything was perfect, which it was! Bianca gave recommendations on details and was patient and accommodating with all of our family members. The cocktail hour space and ballroom have beautiful views of the city which makes it such a special place to get married at! The entire team, from servers, bartenders, and hotel workers, went above and beyond to ensure that our guests had a top notch weekend. Our guests raved about the food and drinks! We also had our after party (ArtBar) and the next day brunch here, which were also well executed because of Bianca and her team. We had the best weekend, and we cannot thank everyone at the Sonesta enough!!
My husband and I got married at the Royal Sonesta on NYE 2022 and we were SO beyond pleased with our experience. The night truly went better than we could have ever experienced and...
we are so thankful for the staff and help from Jim Anello to make the night happen. The rooms we reserved for the weekend were stocked with cheese, wines and snacks for when we arrived along with our parents suites and the staff treated us like royalty! The night of our wedding was flawless, our guests still cannot stop talking about how delicious our food was (truly was a 10/10) and how perfect the ballroom looked. Even our late night snacks are still being talked about!!! Our head waiter, Mario, at the reception never left us without a drink in our hand and truly catered to our every need. We are so thankful for the Sonesta and will treasure these memories forever.
The entire weekend was beyond our wildest expectations thanks to Bianca and the whole Royal Sonesta team! My mom and I are very much detail orientated perfectionists and everything...
was beyond perfect! For every step along the way, from the planning process (which was longer than anticipated thanks to covid postponements - which the Sonesta was so incredibly helpful and accommodating with) to the end, Bianca flawlessly guided, assisted, and implemented our vision. We appreciated how she responded immediately to all our numerous emails and questions, took care of ALL of our special requests, and gave us lots of great ideas. We were so worried about all the little details and Bianca continually made us feel more relaxed with her knowledge and command of the event and of the workings of the hotel! When the wedding weekend began, Bianca was so attentive to the whole bridal party, family members, and honestly every guest - making everyone feel so special! Bianca ran the rehearsal like a seasoned pro and then day of- she transformed the rooms to our exact plan and then some! Everything was beyond perfect! My mom visiting the area to check in, interrupting preparations; and each time, Bianca stopped what she were doing to show her the progress of what was done! Never a complaint, always a smile. Bianca was always so very calm and made us feel so comfortable constantly. The Sonesta staff was always present and available and always with a positive and happy attitude and took such good care of us!
All of our guests kept telling us over and over how great the food was, how kind and attentive the staff was, and how wonderful everyone they encountered treated them. The food was outstanding! High quality restaurant level food, not normal wedding banquet food we have had at other weddings. Appetizers to dinner to late night treats to the brunch! We loved having the same staff help us over the weekend. They all seemed so focused and determined to make our weekend be perfect. And it was!
After helping my brother plan his wedding which is unfortunately not able to be in Boston or at the Royal Sonesta - I have come to appreciate even more how absolutely amazing, helpful, and beyond accommodating the Royal Sonesta was on our big day. I cannot recommend the Royal Sonesta enough!!

My husband proposed to me May 30th, 2020. Because of the pandemic touring venues was very difficult. Jim Anello FaceTimed us one afternoon for our "virtual tour." I fell in love wi...
th the view and ballroom! The blue accents really made it. In July we were able to tour the hotel in person. When we met with James he was so sweet and helpful! He even gave my mother and I a candle with the sent they use at the hotel! I fell in love again. My husband was at work at the time but I called him right after and told him this is where we are getting married! We canceled our other venue tours and booked with Jim.
Throughout the wedding planning process Jim was amazing. When the ArtBar opened back up he had us for dinner and discussed the wedding with us. We had an issue with the church we were getting married in with covid and had to change our plans. James took right over and had our ceremony at the hotel. It was SO beautiful.
Our wedding was the best wedding ever. James had us do a private dance before our guests saw the ballroom, he helped with the cake cutting, when and brought bags down and found things I misplaced. Oh and the food! I've never had better food in my life.
Jim, you are amazing and you made our day so special! Thank you again!
Love,

rk with. He was so knowledgeable and accommodating. He was always available to answer our questions and beyond helpful in giving advice. We chose the Sonesta because of the beautiful views and we were so lucky to have gorgeous fall weather. Our guests raved about the food- everything from entrees to brunch. We are so glad we went with the Royal Sonesta and so thankful to Jim for making our day amazing!
The Royal Sonesta was a fantastic venue for our wedding and we appreciated all the hard work of the entire team.
Getting married is stressful enough, getting married during a pan...
demic is even slightly more stressful but Jim, director of events, was our coordinator and we put our faith in him and his team and we were so pleased.
The Sonesta's location is central for local guests and those who traveled. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Guests commented on the hotel staff being welcoming.
As for the ceremony, cocktail reception, and dinner - it was all truly fantastic. The bar staff was amazing and we had a large group! People truly loved the passed hors d'oeuvres. And the cod, sirloin, and risotto dinner options were stellar. The team was so on top of any and all dietary issues as well.
Our wedding package included a cake from "Icing on the Cake" and Paula and her team were great. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was fantastic. Even the gluten free cupcakes we offered were delicious. So glad we went with the package that included this option.
Having everything located in one place - the second floor of the hotel - made everything so convenient - and offered some of the best views of Boston.
We cannot say enough great things about Jim, his team, and entire hotel staff.
The Sonesta was the perfect location for our Boston nuptials. Sabrina, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to ensure our wedding vision was fully realized! The food was ...
delicious, the staff were incredible and the view is second to none! We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day!!
We are so grateful to Sabrina! She was such a great help to us in so many ways from meeting with us and laying out what needed to be done from a to z. We really couldn’t have done ...
it without her. Everything went so smoothly and when I goofed the table settings she right there to fix them. Sabrina attended to every detail and yet was inobtrusive and easy to be with. She was expert on Jewish weddings and guided us along with what needed to be done. The Sonesta Hotel is a great setting for a wedding and they are very lucky to have her!

erwhelming and she was super accommodating. The ballroom and uplighting were beautiful. Top to bottom we had the best experience. I would 100% recommend having any event, especially a wedding, at the Royal Sonesta. My husband and I went back for a night at the hotel for our anniversary, and once again, were treated so well and were greeted with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate the occassion. We wish we could do it all over again!

ng day perfect. And she did! One of the things I was concerned about was the timing and events of the day. She sent me a detailed itinerary of the day, and she made sure we stuck to it. She really did make me feel so comfortable and remembered all the small details on the day. Leading up to the wedding she was easily accessible and always called or emailed me back quickly. The day of the wedding she came up to me several times to make sure everything was perfect. And it was. The food was delicious, and she suggested a great tasting signature drink for my guest. I loved it so much I order it when I go out! Everything about the day was great. We had the Cocktail Hour outside over looking the Charles, our guest are still taking about the view and how beautiful it was. Sabrina made my vision of my wedding day exactly how I dreamt it!
I recently hosted my son's welcome reception at The Royal Sonesta Boston. I dealt with Ashley, who made my vision come to life. I wanted the event to take place outside on the terr...
ace, in cocktail party style, so people would mix and mingle. Just in case of inclement weather, Ashley also held a room inside that overlooked the river. The weather did not cooperate, but Ashley and her team set up the room like the cocktail party I envisioned. I left the decorations in Ashley's care and without instruction, the room was set up beautifully. The food was amazing. My guests had a wonderful time, and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I highly recommend having an event here!

I selected the Royal Sonesta due to its location, view, and modern decor. That seemed like the makings of the perfect wedding for me, but the actual services were so much more than...
I could have ever imagined. The package included everything; food, cake, servers, day-of-coordinator, linens, tables/chairs, all table settings, and a bridal suite! My coordinator Michael organized all the vendors so that all I had to worry about on my wedding day was getting married. From the moment I checked in for the big weekend, the bridal suite, located on the top floor, was jaw-dropping with a full 180 degree view of the city, 2 balconies, 2 bathrooms, a parlor, and of course the bedroom. I was able to get ready in the room making me feel like a true princess on my wedding day. From there, everything was orchestrated perfectly. The waitstaff was so attentive, I had friends and family come up to me to comment on how impressed they were. The food was delicious and the cake package allowed me to design a gorgeous cake by The Icing on the Cake. My bridesmaid even said to me, "where did you get Michael, your coordinator?!" and I was able to say, "he came with the hotel!". Overall, the Royal Sonesta was able to be more than just the setting of my fairytale wedding that I will treasure forever.
We couldn't have asked for a better spot for our big day (and weekend) with amenities and features that helped make it unique to us! It was so easy to have every part of our weddin...
g in one spot, from our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner, to formal photos outside and inside, to each part of the wedding. The accomodations were also lovely and very comfortable. This made it so easy for our guests as well, especially older relatives. The staff were so helpful, which made things so smooth. Karie had wonderful coordination of everything and each staff member involved in every aspect of our weekend were attentive, kind, and courteous to every guest, and made so many accomodations. Our guests were so pleased and still talk about the wedding months later as one of the best weddings they've been to!
The perfect experience from start to finish! My husband and I got married at the Royal Sonesta this past fall and when we reflect back on our day, there's nothing we would've done ...
differently. The team at the Sonesta is elite; Michael Foley helped us from the beginning and brought our vision to life. He personifies a high sense of urgency, is a very detailed planner, extremely knowledgeable, and infuses positive energy the entire time. Michael was always available to answer our questions and gave us helpful suggestions along the way. We planned our wedding out of state and Michael was integral to organizing our big day. We received so many compliments when it came to our venue, service, food, spacious dance floor, accommodating staff...truly a one-stop-shop with 5-star service. A dedicated team, a joy to work with, and committed to making the big day exactly what you want...The Royal Sonesta is your spot!
