We live in Florida and inquired about having our wedding at the Sagamore and were given the pricing for the weekend. We flew from Florida to NJ, rented a car, and made the round-trip drive just to tour the venue. Upon arrival, we were informed that THE PRICING STRUCTURE THEY GAVE US WOULD NOT BE HONORED AND THE PRICING STRUCTURE WOULD BE MODIFIED. We continued the tour anyway and even then still wanted to get married at the venue. At the end of the day we asked the Sagamore if they could include a room (which didn’t have a bathroom) for the bridal party to get ready in and a hotel room for my fiancé and I. They told us they could not make those two basic accommodations for us. We’re in the industry and I have never turned down such basic requests (honestly that these two items would not be included initially as part of a six figure wedding was questionable in and of itself). Needless to say, we did not get married at the Sagamore and we happily spent roughly $225 more per person for our wedding at a different venue. We are happy to have had a venue that appreciated holding our wedding and didn't make it feel that they were “doing us a favor” hosting our wedding. All couples deserve honesty and transparency for their wedding. Our recommendation would be to find a different venue to work with.

This past weekend we had our wedding at the beautiful Sagamore. Danielle and her team exceeded every expectation that we had to help make our wedding day memorable and perfect. From managing all the vendors, tracking the weather, making sure we were relaxed and calm, she did it all until the end. Not only is the staff exceptional, the views are like no other. Our families said it was one of the best weddings/wedding weekends they have been too. We not only were able to celebrate love at this beautiful place, we were able to make long lasting memories. Highly recommend booking here if you want the same! Thank you Danielle and The Sagamore!

After planning our wedding three different times, we decided to have a small intimate ceremony and reception. I am so glad we landed on the Sagamore to host our special day. Lori was there to answer all of my questions leading up to the big day! The crew made our day worry-free and were so kind and hospitable. We had our reception on The Morgan. The captain and crew were amazing!!! They made sure our guests had everything they need. The food was also next level. Our guests are still chatting about the surf and turf. A stunning, classy ambience, delicious food, exceptional service - what more could you want? I would 10/10 recommend the Sagamore if you are in search of a venue to host your day!

the location is gorgeous. the staff on the wedding day was exceptional. all our guests commented on how well the staff took care of them. Anna, our designated server, was extraordinary! our coordinator, Carissa, was amazing; she answered all our questions and fulfilled our requests. Carissa made up for the lack of communication we had with our initial contact person after signing the contract. In the end, it was a perfect venue!

I'm biased of course because our wedding was here, but I don't think there are many places that offer as striking of a view as when you walk through the doors of The Sagamore. We had been to a TON of weddings and didn't want another ballroom. The Sagamore's classic, Victorian vibe offered an amazing alternative. We got married lakeside and had our reception at the Shelving Rock Terrace, which offers more lake views and the ability to make the space your own. We worked most with Elizabeth Tonn, who was absolutely amazing. She took the time to speak with us a number of occasions on the phone, would immediately answer my insanely long emails with a million questions, and was just really pleasant to work with. The Sagamore isn't cheap, but since we were coming from Manhattan, after seeing what it offered compared to local NYC venues, for us the choice was easy. I absolutely loved getting married at The Sagamore and am so happy I have an excuse to go back now for anniversaries to come.

I was in the early stages of venue searching and planned a visit at the Sagamore. I had previously been to Lake George, and the area is gorgeous. I cannot say enough about how beautiful it is. Upon arriving for a 12pm appointment, I asked the front desk to call the sales rep I had spoken to and made an appointment with. They called, but the rep was not at her desk. They called again in five minutes and left a message with my number. We waited 30 minutes before leaving. Absolutely ridiculous!!
Not to mention the amount of complaints from hotel guests that we heard while standing around the reception area. It seemed every guest had something wrong with their stay - from charges at restaurants that they never made (and no signatures on those receipts) to overcharging for rooms and just blatantly giving people wrong rooms (ones they did not book). Every single person left the reception area with either a general manager’s name or the accounting manager’s name.
So, needless to say, I’m glad my first impression of this place was horrible. I would have been absolutely disappointed if I had committed to doing my wedding here and then had to deal with all the above.
STAY AWAY!!!!

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner aboard the Morgan and about 30 guests staying at The Sagamore. Our wedding was offsite.
1. Booked me for a hair and makeup trial with someone who wasn't available for the day of services which ended up being a waste of time and money.
2. Told me that they had me booked for a gel mani and gel pedi 2 days before my wedding. But when I arrived was told they don't offer gel pedi and they only had me down for a regular mani. The technician was very sweet but then had to rush since gel takes longer and she was booked for the rest of the day which made the process stressful and my nails started to peel off within less than a week. I had to go to a Walmart to get my gel pedi. Go to the regal nails in the Walmart, they did a great job!
3. The Event coordinator didn't request the Sagamore shuttle service to be reserved until a week before the event even though it was requested by us far in advance. This meant we had to spend over $1,500 in additional transportation for our guests and they were unwilling to make any accommodations or to offset the cost.
4. The event coordinators in general were very difficult to communicate with and always seemed to be out of office.
5. Our welcome bags for our guests weren't ever delivered despite being dropped off by us well in advance of guest arrival but we were charged for them. Our shuttle schedules for our guests were in these bags which weren't delivered and led to a lot of guest confusion and to the shuttle which we had to pay for in addition not being fully utilized.
6. One guest reported having a dirty room upon checkin. One had a mini refrigerator in the middle of the room. Another guest who has a heart condition was asked to carry his own bags up 3 flights of stairs bc the bellman was busy.
7. We were given zero flexibility with start time for the boat ride and the boat could have easily fit many more people than they advised us which was disappointing because we would have invited others

We got married 10.08.2016 at The Sagamore and everything went absolutely flawless from start to finish.
Planning:
We booked The Sagamore almost 18 months before the wedding and from the very beginning we were directly connected with our own personal on-site wedding coordinator, Abigail Shriber, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She made the planning experience enjoyable, personal and she really shared our excitement for our big day. She was attentive to every single email, phone call and venue visit (planned or unplanned) and in the days leading up to the big day she was on top of every single detail, staff and vendor.
Rehearsal Dinner:
After our plans to have a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant in the town of Bolton Landing had some major issues - we called up the bar/restuarant at The Sagamore - Mr. Browns to see if they were able to help make something happen. They didn't take reservations, but when we called the day before our wedding and were put in contact with the food and beverage manager, Bob, he went the extra mile for us. They couldn't fit us in the actual bar, so he and his staff set up tables on hotels patio for our 50+ plus family members, had multiple waiters ready to go, bartenders at the ready and the food was amazing. They really made our rehearsal dinner perfect, and set the the tone for the great service we would experience all weekend.
Ceremony:
Our ceremony took place outside at The Sagamore. There were a few passing rain clouds on the day that gave us some worry that the ceremony would have to move to their covered location. Abigial could tell we were dying to have the ceremony by the water so she setup for both locations in preparation and said "we're going for it!" The weather cleared up just minutes before the ceremony, the guests seats were dried, the speaker/mic was all setup and we couldn't be happier with how smoothly it all went and how beautiful it all looked.
Cocktail Hour & Reception: (Diamond Terrace & Shelving Rock Terrace)
We've received multiple compliments about the food, drinks, service and just overall beauty of the location. The food was amazing., the service was top notch - waiters were on top of everything. We we're completely surprised that we even had our own private bride & groom server who made sure our drinks were always full and food was always on our plate. The bartenders were exceptional too - i think they memorized every single guests drinks.
Cost:
The cost is on the expensive end between the per person cost and service charges - but considering the private wedding planner, pastry chief, food, alcohol, setup and service was not only all included, making the planning that much easier, but above and beyond what we expected - it's worth the money if you can afford it.
Overall: We couldn't be happier with Abigail, and every staff that was involved with our big day - everything was perfect.

The two stars is for the view (which should really be five stars), the Sagamore doesn't deserve it. This place was a nightmare to work with, which is disappointing considering that being married at this resort was a dream since I first laid eyes on this place about 15 years ago. Firstly, the prices of their wedding packages seem super reasonable until after you sign the contract and start getting into real details and they kindly let you know that there is an additional charge for literally EVERYTHING!! Do you want petals down the aisle?? $250 fee! Do you need an extension cord? $45 fee! Would you like a bridal room? $250 fee (unless you use their salon which you should never do!!!) You might say, well, I don't need any of that stuff....but, there are way more fees than this. That's why they are able to advertise such a low per person charge on their packages. Aside from the expense, which will definitely put you over your initial budget, there is the disorganization. We were passed around to 3 different wedding coordinators, none of which seemed to ever have any information about the details of our wedding, so each time it was like starting from the beginning. This went on for a year and a half with the 3rd hand off being about 3 weeks before the wedding. If you book here, especially on a weekend during wedding season, there will definitely be another wedding taking place on the same day and perhaps the same time as yours. They will tell you that you will never run into the other party and that you will still have access to all the resort grounds for your photos. This is not the case unless you are the wedding party that is spending the most amount of money that day. We were the smaller wedding on our day and we were told, at the very last minute, with friends and family waiting, that in fact we would not be able to use anywhere in the entire back grounds of the hotel (where all the best views are) or any part of the lobby for our photos due to the other wedding's use of the grounds. We were forced off to the side, into the dirt. I seriously have some wedding photos with a dumpster in the background!!!!! $25,000 later and I have a dumpster in wedding photos!! Our wedding cake tasted good, but it had obviously melted in the sun and they apparently tried to fix it, but it didn't look great. The food was ok, certainly not the same food from the tasting. The staff was generally nice. We had our reception on the Morgan, the cruise and views were spectacular, though, I feel as if we could've had a very similar experience for far less money and headaches by going someplace else along the lake. Overall, very disappointing and there was no follow up to the complaints we discussed in person after the wedding with our coordinator. They already had our money, they don't care.

Had our wedding here in August 2015- ceremony on site and reception on their private boat, The Morgan. The entire experience w/The Sagamore was incredible and perfect- from first contact down to the last moments of our evening. Many of our plans had to change at the last minute due to torrential downpours that happened 2 hours before our balcony wedding was to begin- and The Sagamore ensured I could still have an outdoor ceremony elsewhere on the property, and that none of my "vision"/plans for the day were ruined by the weather (not an easy task- kudos!!). Abigail was the most organized, efficient planner I worked with during the entire wedding process, and made everything simple and easy to handle. We planned this wedding from AZ, and she made sure every single detail came out exactly how I had been envisioning- truly, everything was perfect. The staff on The Morgan were true professionals- fun, sociable with our guests, funny, excellent attentive service, and the boat manager ensured my husband and I were aware of their plans and processes all night- great communication while not "bugging" us- just letting us know all was in good hands! Also, the food for our reception was out of this WORLD!! Our guests are still raving about it, months later! I don't have a single complaint- they made our wedding a day of absolute perfection! Thank you, Sagamore!! I can't recommend this gorgeous venue and their top service enough!!

We had a wonderful experience getting married at The Sagamore. We had our ceremony outdoors by the lake and our reception in a tent lake side. We were happy with the staff and how willing and flexible they were to work with us. Our guests were blown away with the beauty of the the historic hotel and Lake George.

Dawn and her team were wonderful. It was my childhood dream to be married here and even with a rain delay and last minute ceremony location change, made my day perfect. It was more than I could have dreamed. Guest have continued to talk about the food, and the incredible setting.

We were married at The Sagamore on June 26, 2011. It was a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery, delicious food and great service. From the rehearsal dinner to the reception our wedding coordinator took care of everything to make sure that we as well as our guests were happy. We spent three days there and we will return many times. It is a bit pricey but if it is within your budget you will not regret it!
