d nothing to worry about because both of my dresses fit perfect at my first fitting and the bustles were well done and sturdy! I loved wearing my dresses at my wedding and the bustles made my dresses really easy to move around in! I could not have asked for better workmanship and quality. ally a couple sizes bigger than what I usually wear (the dress was previously worn by my aunt and sister-in-law), and they were able to alter it down to my size so it fit like a glove. As a result, I was very happy with my dress on my wedding day. They also added a bustle (as I requested), and it was simpler than I imagined. It was a one-point bustle in the center back, which was really easy to handle. I was concerned at first that the one-point bustle wouldn’t be strong enough because of the extreme weight and quantity of my dress train. But the ladies at The Seamstress were reassuring and confident it would hold up - and it did. Very happy with their skill and effort put forth into making my wedding dress very beautiful for our perfect day.

an incomplete dress that was done very poorly. I do not believe Judi did any work on my dress. Had to take the dress elsewhere and pay $130 to get it fixed. After speaking with whoever is in charge now, they are saying I never should have taken the dress. My mother dealt with someone who didn't speak english, and we we very worried the shop would close and my dress would be gone. So we took the dress. The person I spoke with today is now backtracking and saying the hem was never included in the price of the dress. This is a bad way to deal with bad work. I am very disappointed in how this turned out. Do yourself a favor, avoid this shop.

nd prior to seeing her. When my now husband took his suit in to be altered, she initially refused stating that she only worked on formal attire. After reiterating that he wanted his suit altered for his wedding and that she was already working on my gown, she finally agreed. Despite the later, her job was to fit our wedding attire and she absolutely delivered. My dress was absolutely gorgeous and my husband's suit was perfection.

to Judi by the boutique where I purchased my dress. I figured if they suggested her then she had to be good, right? WRONG! On my first trip to her, which should have been so exciting since it was the first time I'd be seeing my dress (not just the store's sample) in person, already put a bad taste in my mouth. During the entire fitting she criticized my physique (e.g., "well someone has a sway back, whose fault is that?", "you're just a little too short for your dress, I wonder whose fault that is" "you've got no chest" and more). Although I had a bad feeling about her, I told myself that just because her personality is terrible, it doesn't mean her work will be bad, too. Despite the fact that she told me she would have very little to do to my dress, she told me the charge was going to be $500. My jaw hit the ground, but as an out of town bride who didn't know of any places where I'm from and didn't feel like having to transport my dress, I scheduled my next appointment. Fast forward to 1 month out from my wedding , I come back only to find out that she had done NOTHING to my dress. She gave me a long excuse about what happened and promised that she would be able to fix it and would even offer me a trip charge (a.k.a. a discount). I was almost in tears because this was the last time I could come into town before the wedding, but she made it seem like she would stay throughout the night to finish my dress. I asked her what the discount would be since I was going to have to drive out again the next morning and was now having a slight panic attack and she quoted me a total of $500...the exact same price as before. When I called her out she simply said "oh, well then $450." WHAT?? My head was spinning, but again, I told her fine and that I'd be back in the morning. After a couple of hours of calming down and talking with my mom & wedding planner, we decided that I should get my dress and take it elsewhere. Well, Judi was not happy about that and, after multiple attempts at trying to get ahold of her, she finally answered and said "your dress is done." So, you're telling me that something that would take all night and was $500 worth of work was done in 3 hours? Lovely. When I came back to try on my dress she was worse than the first time I met her. She didn't help me try on my dress - simply said "it's in the room", had torn the lace, put in boning then took that out which caused creasing and rippling in my dress, it was still too big even though she fit me that morning, claimed to have pressed it (and charged me for it) even though there was a huge seam line across the front where it had been pinned, she called me a liar and over-dramatic, the list goes on. She also yelled at me, my moh, and bridesmaid when we called her out on these mistakes. She also tried to assure me that "I just must be her one dress that she screws up this year" because that's so reassuring. After a lot of back and forth (basically her shouting at us for calling her out on her lies), she said "I just want it gone" and refused to let me leave without paying $375 in cash for my dress that I would have to take elsewhere to get repaired. What should've been one of the most enjoyable parts of wedding planning was the absolute worst because of her. In sum, TAKE YOUR DRESS AND RUN FOR THE HILLS!

dly I ordered a dress that was 1 (maybe 2) sizes too small. I was so upset. I thought I was not going to be able to wear it. I took it to Judi and she was brutally honest with me (which is what I wanted and needed to hear). She told me that she CAN take some out but that her biggest suggestion was to try to loose a few pounds. Im not overweight by any means. I am 5'4" at 124lbs. I wanted to loose about 5 lbs and tone up for the wedding anyways. Judi did not offend me at all mostly because I brought up loosing weight first. She was super nice and made me feel so much better knowing we could make my dress work. I lost the weight and judi made the dress fit perfectly! She even added beautiful ruffling to the top to make it a litte more modest and it looked like it was suppose to be on the dress. I LOVED IT. If it wasnt for Judi, I would not have been the beautiful princess I was on my wedding day. THANK YOU!!!!

t advice. I also had my mom's veil made into one for me which turned out amazing. They took great care of such a vintage piece. I only needed two fittings and they worked very quickly to get the dress done.

rk with and I assumed she was just a no nonsense type of person. Unfortunately, this attitude came to be a big issue when I was not exactly thrilled with how my dress turned out. She refused to really offer any solutions and just acted like I was stupid. There were just too many issues with my dress and instead of helping me two weeks before my wedding, she was just annoyed and unable to achieve the look of a backless dress that I wanted. I ended up taking my dress somewhere else (they were able to easily do what she had refused) and it ended up looking gorgeous. I'm sure The Seamstress is a great place to go if you need to get a dress taken in or shortened, but if you want to have any say in what your dress is going to look like or have an opinion, please stay far away from this place. I had the most amazing dress shopping experience, all which was ruined when my dress became the biggest issue of my wedding. I just really don't want any one else to go through what I had to!

mpting to use Alfred Angelo or David's Bridal seamstresses (let's face it, they get kind of pushy), but they are often way overpriced for the work they do. Seamstress is competitively priced, personable, and produces great work. I will return when I need another outfit altered.
