ON!!!!. From the valet, bellman, frontdesk, the servers, bartender, chefs, even the guest staying at the hotel. Our hotel suite was perfect!! The food for our Wedding was cooked perfectly!! My family was so amazed by the weekend experience at your hotel. We gathered at the fire pit all day, the day before the wedding, making smores at night. This was an awesome meeting place for both families. And it was AMAZING!! From my past experience of working at The Ritz Carlton as a banquets traininer/ bridal butler, I knew I wanted a certain level of service. And when I tell you Donna is the best I've ever seen!!! My husband and I had the best time of our LIVES!! Our whole family can not stop talking about our wedding and will forever have these memories of us together at your BEAUTIFUL RESORT!! My husband and I plan to visit every year for our anniversary ( alot of family says they want to come back with us). This was MY DREAM WEDDING!!! I've seen so many brides get married over the years, so when it became my turn, you don't know how much it means to me the way you and your staff took care of us and our families the entire weekend!! I will forever be grateful for all you guys have done for my husband and I. God Bless you all!!

stions to the actual day! Donna Crane is an angel! She is so friendly and helpful! I had so many questions and she happily answered them all! She and Lisa helped me set up my room blocks for guests and menu tasting. She stayed in contact with me in the months, weeks, and days before the wedding to make sure everything was in order. I unknowingly booked on the weekend of a huge cheer competition and they helped me switch to a different weekend where it would not be as busy and more rooms were available for my out of town guests. I also had a couple of last minute hiccups and she helped me settle them. The room for the bride and ladies in the wedding party to get ready was great. It is on the same floor as the ballrooms. That was very convenient since I was setting up all of the decorations myself. The only nuisance was that hotel guests just exploring kept coming to the rooftop floor to check it out and four separate groups of people walked into our spaces to look around even after they saw that we were having a wedding up there. Not a big deal but kind of annoying to have strangers in your business.. The food at the reception was delicious. The servers and bartender were especially attentive to me and my husband at the sweetheart table. The entire staff was friendly and attentive from arrival to departure. From the valet and the reception clerk, to the servers and bartender. Even the workers I saw in the halls were very friendly. Our room was amazing with a beautiful ocean view. I had always dreamed of a beach wedding with the ocean in the background, but it had been storming all week. Donna and the staff still made sure that our indoor ceremony was just as nice despite the weather. The pergola and outdoor ceremony and cocktail space is very pretty and roped off so people from the hotel won't accidentally walk into your event. The indoor ceremony/reception space is a spacious ballroom with large windows overlooking either the river or ocean. We had 50 guests and it could have easily accommodated many more people. The dance floor was a good size. The open bar was fabulous! All of my guests commented that the bartender was very friendly and attentive to the guests' requests. Overall, everyone was very happy with this venue and its staff. Special shoutout to Donna and Lisa! I even had some local guests who liked the place so much that they said they were going to visit again by themselves. My husband and I will be here every year on our anniversary since we only live an hour away! Great location and experience!

y is the absolute best and if you don’t have the opportunity to work with I her, I would feel sorry for you because she MADE my wedding. The resort decided to do some landscaping at the ceremony space 2 DAYS before my wedding leaving an ugly wall as a back drop for the wedding. When Donna saw this she worked over time not only for me but the 2 other brides that weekend to bring in tropics foliage. She didn’t want anything deterring our special day! She responded very quickly to any email I sent on the 9 month span of planning and always was there with suggestions and recommendations as well as keeping certain family members happy and on the right track! She’s a godsend! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I felt like the hotel (aside from donna) could have done a way better job on delivering a few things that were promised or making things right when the were not able to deliver.

The hotel itself had a few operating flaws - no daily cleaning of rooms available, the main restaurant was closed for renovations, and there appeared to be a general lack of staff. That said, these shortcomings did not significantly effect our enjoyment of the weekend.

REALLY didn’t want a beach wedding (probably because I grew up near the pacific and know just how crowed and dirty beaches can actually be). We agreed on what I call “beach adjacent” venues for our wedding meaning the beach was there but we didn’t have be actually be on the sand. We toured several different properties and both initially liked different venues. He instantly loved The Shores, but I was drawn more toward a venue on the gulf side of the state. Since we live out of state the ease and convenience of The Shores is what really sold us. Most importantly the shores came with Donna! Donna, the catering and events manager, is simply the most amazing person ever. She is so kind, attentive, funny, professional, and all around amazing. I simply can’t say enough good things about her. She answered all of my calls, emails, and questions with speed and grace. She handled last minute additional events (like a impromptu welcome cocktail hour, and day after family dinner) that our families wanted to host. Her team is a well oiled machine and rolled with all the punches we threw at them. At the wedding, we had the most amazing staff. The bartender learned our drink orders at cocktail hour and always made sure we had what we needed. The dinner was amazing! I was slightly worried it was going to be the typical dry wedding food, but it was the complete opposite. I don’t think I’ve had better mahi-mahi. We held an after wedding breakfast and Christian, the lead server? Manager? (I’m not sure his title) was amazing too! So kind and helpful. They even refrigerated some of our florals from the wedding to use on the tables at the breakfast and the bbq later in the evening. I seriously think the whole hotel knew it was our wedding because staff not involved keep congratulating us and making sure everything was perfect for us our entire stay. The Shores, and Donna were so helpful during the planning process and provided a list of venders they recommended. I found a few people not on their list I preferred and it was not problem! I loved that! I know that Donna is updating her vender list and including some of my amazing venders!

igh winds we had to move it inside but Donna suggested we do it on the Oceanview side. Doing the wedding upstairs with the ocean in the background was awesome and amazing. I would definelty recommend this hotel for your venue for ceremony and reception!

Due to the Corona Virus mandates, we changed the menu, style of wedding and made several other last minute requests but Donna was always extremely patient, professional & accommodating! We really wanted to have the Welcome Celebration on the Terrace but Donna called me the day before to tell me that the wind was expected to be extremely gusty and she suggested that we move the celebration upstairs across from the Rehearsal Dinner for the guests' comfort. The flowers, the cake and the DJ were all directed to the right room-I didn't have to worry about anything. The room was perfect--wall-to-wall windows with beautiful ocean views. The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly nice, getting my nephews some extra crackers when they got hungry before dinner, treating us all like royalty! We were able to have the ceremony itself on the public beach in front of the hotel, which meant we only needed to pay for the room where we had the reception. Overall, the pricing was incredibly reasonable, especially for such a beautiful ocean-side venue. A friend who hates weddings and said he was dreading mine ended up saying he had the time of his life. Highly recommend1

She was there with me throughout the rehearsal and from morning until night the day of the wedding. She was extremely accommodating and made sure my day was stress free. Next event I plan, I would definitely want Donna to coordinate!!

All of my catering whims were fulfilled - from getting local craft beers for the welcome reception to non-mayo finger sandwiches for the bridal party on day of. One of the most difficult things was choosing the appetizers - they were all so good. Donna and her team are rockstars. She's very responsive, helped us out when we weren't sure which direction to go but was never pushy. The whole weekend was managed perfectly - no drama, no hiccups, just a really great time had by all. Several of our guests said we needed to have a vow renewal next year so they could all come back, they had that much fun!
