dn't require every morsel of my being and energy into bringing *everything* to their venue and coordinating it all. I'm not a party planner and I work long, stressful hours so it was really daunting to go "okay, let's plan a wedding!" I was ready to just throw it all away and tell my now husband that we were eloping to CO. lol Then enters The Society Room. From the moment I messaged to inquire about their space, they were quick to respond and actually provided me with the information I was looking for instead of wasting my time trying to arrange a phone call. We were extremely curious about the venue so we scheduled a tour. We were met by the owner, Jim, who is very friendly and honest. He showed us around his lovely space while explaining to us who they are and what they do. When we sat down to discuss numbers, he had a very upfront packet about what we can expect to get for the money we'd pay and he reassured us that the price we see IS the price and that there were no hidden fees which was amazing because all the other venues we had toured had hidden fees and add-ons that we didn't have a choice to decline. And can I say, (I know this is subjective, "affordable" is going to mean something different for everyone) this venue was so affordable! The value that you get for the price you pay is unmatched anywhere in the Northeast (trust me, I LOOKED EVERYWHERE). Linda was amazing to communicate with throughout the whole process, Jo Anna and our day-of attendant were amazing as well! Jo Anna had to hand my father our ring box while we were going down the aisle because our ring barer had handed it to her and I didn't even notice, she was so slick. Everyone at The Society Room was incredible, very attentive and on top of everything. My husband and I didn't have to ask for anything, our attendant was right on top of it, we always had food or a drink. Honestly, they are so far above any other venue that I've ever been to. You can tell that everyone that works there LOVES what they do, it's reflected in their care and efficiency in making your perfect day come true. We had an absolute BLAST and the FOOD is AMAZING!! I wish I wasn't so anxious day-of (good nerves!) so I could have eaten more. lol I'll be thinking about this food for forever. Our guests had an amazing time and they did everything we asked for, who could ask for more than that? If you can book The Society Room, do it. You won't regret it. d kept everything on track. My bridal attendant was awesome and always made sure I was on track, had something to drink, and made sure I sat down to eat. She was very attentive and even helped me out with my secret performance. The food was top notch! Everything was delicious! It was hard to pick the hor'dourves and menu because everything was just so good! I don't personally drink alcohol but my guests said the alcohol was exquisite👌. The night went perfectly and I didn't want it to end. I had the most Epic wedding night there and all my guests are still raving about it. Everyone said it was the best wedding they've ever been to and nothing will top it.

and you can tell they care about your wants, their business, and making sure your overall experience is exactly what you want. I am so happy that we were able to have our wedding at this wonderful venue. It gave the vibes I was looking for: elegance and warmth and sophistication! I would host all my events here if I could!

dding weekend. From the minute we all walked into the Society Room it was clear this was a special place, very distinct from the others we’d looked at. Our bride-to-be knew immediately that this was the place! Gorgeous old-world setting, elegant and beautiful with all kinds of special touches achieved through lighting, that staircase, and special details. Nothing stodgy or snobby, just beauty! We attended the meal tasting several months prior to the wedding so knew we were getting amazing food — it lived up to its billing on the big day. Drinks, appetizers, main meal were all delicious and served professionally. The staff was fantastic to work with throughout — although the bride’s mom was absolutely the point person here. My daughter and and I needed to get into the venue on the wedding day to set up flowers on the tables and Linda (and others) were incredibly helpful, opening the back room to us and offering us anything we needed to meet our needs. Can’t say enough about this venue and the wedding they helped us provide. Definite 5 stars!

nd down to earth. One of the things we loved is there was no hidden fees or complicated math that needed to be done. It was a per person fee and then items you could add on if you wanted to! Linda was a pleasure to work with during the entire process. She was very helpful and always quick to respond. My husband and I were able to enjoy every moment of our special day and not worry about a single thing! The level of detail the collect is outstanding and they make it so easy for you! Judi is a miracle worker and makes sure your wedding goes off without a hitch. Rehearsal was quick and easy and the bridal party understood the process. Jonna will be your new best friend for the night. She is so kind and helpful. She checks on you often to see if you need a drink. She even brought us water while we were outside taking photos! The food is absolutely amazing!! Our guests are still talking about all the appetizers and the entrees. The champagne is out of this world! We added on the champagne tower and it was a great touch to cocktail hour. We used their table numbers and floating candle centerpieces, they were beautiful! They pack everything up for you at the end of the night and all you need to do is load it in your car! My husband and I can confidently say not a single thing went wrong at our wedding and there is nothing we would have done differently. The bridal suite is gorgeous!! And the grooms cottage is very cool. I can’t say enough good things about The Society Room. Thank you for giving us the wedding of our dreams and a night our guests and us will never forget.

wedding. from the designs on the ceiling to the curtains on the window, everything was just perfect and we knew this would fit the vibe for our wedding. The food was absolutely amazing. All of our guest were happy with the service . The staff was amazing from the start of the process to the end. We can’t begin to express how happy we are that we decided to get married at this place. They made the planning process so easy they were very helpful and accommodating. everything was great we would definitely recommend this place for your special day!!!

erson(sales), you detail with another and they then pass you off to operations - it does not matter how detailed you are there is going to be a few things missed when there are that many people involved. The worst part was they were not on the same page when it came to the contract. I would suggest making sure they add dates to their contract instead of the number of days. 2) the food at the tasting was better than the wedding. I am sure I am the only one to notice. However the food was still good! 3) We were allowed to bring in our own beer - however they had an issue on their end with the gas being off and were hesitant to allow the brewery who brewed the beer we brought in to help them. They tried to pass off another beer as our beer - and that other beer was NOT good. We had a lot of craft beer drinkers at our wedding. 4) rehearsal was very rushed and they did not pay attention to the specific details I wanted (my ceremony entrance was not how I requested) - it was an after thought for them since they had a Friday wedding and wanted us out of the venue even though they scheduled us for 30 minutes and we were only there for 20 minutes. Pros: 1) The venue is stunning from the minute you walk in and your guests will love everything about it. 2) The hourly staff (servers, bridal attendant, bartenders) were the nicest and very attentive not just to us, but to our guests and to the other vendors 3) The value is there. I loved that so much was included in the per person price 4) I loved everything in one place! And having the Mezzanine for cocktail hour made it so it felt like you weren't stuck in one room 5) I'll say it one more time the venue is the selling factor! If you want people to be wow'd and not need to do a ton of decorating this is place for you. In the end they did make up for a few of their mistakes and I would get married there all over again.

Our bridal attendant was amazing and checked in on us frequently throughout the night to ensure we had everything we needed. She even had our dinners saved and heated up to eat later when we decided we were ready to step away from dancing (too nervous to eat earlier!) The food was amazing- we got so many compliments from our guest. The bartenders were so much fun- some of our friends are still telling stories about what a good time the staff were. The venue itself was so beautiful and absolutely had the wow factor we were hoping for.

Such an abundance fresh, great tasting food that no one will be hungry.. top tier service.. loved everything…. Wish I could get married twice just so I can have another ceremony there!!! You will not be disappointed… also the wedding cake is included & a night at the Marriott, it was throughly the BEAT NIGHT OF MY LIFE.

n place that make the planning process SO seamless and truly enjoyable! Chris and Linda helped us tremendously, as did the many other staff members that helped us the entire way. Our families and friends could not speak more highly of every detail. And most of our loved ones have worked in MANY restaurants...some even run their own. EVERYONE was impressed. The food was literally insane. So perfect. WOAH. THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR THOSE IN CT OR BEYOND! WELL WORTH IT. The VAULT!? They have a vault in their venue. The aesthetic alone is so grand and gorgeous. The fact there there is a balcony and multiple rooms that you guests can roam through was also the biggest plus. Everyone has such a fun time exploring and having all that space to have the best time. Like I said, I could go on! Thank you Society Room!

Our wedding sales manager Chris Burns was excellent to work with, he was quick to respond to all my questions and helped us to plan all the little details of our evening. Everything we ate at Society Room was superb, our guests raved about their meals and the endless supply of appetizers that were provided, we especially recommend the Mac & Cheese bar, it was a hit! Society room wedding packages give you the most bang for your buck, there are not many venues of this class that offer so much in their package. The service during the reception is unparalleled from anything I have experienced as a guest at other venues. They start dinner service quickly after everyone is seated, we had 250 guests and everyone’s food was hot and we had no complaints about meal mix ups. I was impressed how quickly they got everyone served so we could start the dance party! Our personal wedding attendant from July 3, 2023 deserves a raise, I forgot her name, but she made sure there was a drink in my hand all night and we received our own app sampler plate so we could relax for a minute after our ceremony! She also seamlessly handled all the bridal suite entry requests all night! Society Room includes your cake as well, we chose Creative Cakes by Donna for our cake, it was beautifully delicious strawberry shortcake- highly recommend! l suite and groomsmen cottage, and of course the vault. The detail in all of the rooms is amazing and makes for an incredible atmosphere for a wedding. The staff was also incredible to work with. They were very organized, and the whole process was a pleasure from start to finish. The planning phase was smooth, with all of our questions answered quickly along the way. The food was great, and they had plenty of options during the tasting that we could choose from for our wedding day. When the day was finally here, we couldn’t have asked for a better operations team to make sure everything went smoothly. With so many details to worry about, it was great to be able to be confident in the team handling those details for us, so that we only had to get there and do our best to hold in our happy tears. All of our guests were blown away by the venue, and we would absolutely recommend the Society Room for any couples looking to have a wedding in Connecticut!
