The venue itself was worth every penny and my primary contact throughout the process leading up to the wedding, Carrie, was phenomenal and made sure to follow up about every detail.
The only disappointment was that the person who stayed at the venue during our wedding was not great. She walked through photos our photographer was taking, when asked politely if we could turn the AC on, her response was that we should turn off the lights, "because they get warm", in the room where the entire bridal party was doing their makeup. She also left thirty minutes before our time block at the venue was done. I would absolutely recommend this venue but just wanted to give an honest review of our "day of" experience.
We celebrated our wedding at The Solarium and it was wonderful. I probably emailed the staff there 3-4 times a week in the last month as we approached the big day, and they were always super responsive. If you’re looking for a laid-back yet beautiful venue, this is the right place for you! Thank you to the team for making our wedding such an enjoyable experience!
The Solarium was just what we needed! Perfect for our little city wedding. The venue was very communicative when Covid required changes to policy, and very nice about rescheduling. The space is very bright and minimal--you can transform it into anything! There are plenty of tables and chairs included so you don't have to rent any, and the chairs are cute (not at all something that should be assumed lol). This was the perfect venue for us.
The Solarium was a great location for our wedding reception. We had about 100 guests who fit comfortably in the open space. The abundant natural light in the building helped our reception feel bright even on a wintry day. The staff was very helpful in arranging the rental agreement, facilitating walk-throughs with vendors, setting up tables/chairs, and with day-of assistance.
The Solarium worked out wonderfully for our wedding! They are super responsive to emails and helpful giving suggestions and tips as to how to best utilize the space. All the Solarium staff were very professional and helpful. They allow you to pick your own caterer and bring your own alcohol which saved us lots of money and gave me the freedom to have the kind of wedding and reception that I wanted. The venue also looked very romantic and picturesque in photos. I'm so glad I picked the Solarium!
We had our wedding reception at the Solarium and rented half of the space to use - which still allowed us access to the common areas and all of the grounds. The Solarium is beautiful and bright, spacious and intimate. Nikkia and Beth were wonderful to work with and they always were quick to answer questions and offer helpful advice when I asked. The space allowed us to do whatever we wanted with food and drinks, which saved us so much money and allowed us to get food catered from a delicious local restaurant. They allowed us to break up our total hours into prep, event, and breakdown time slots and didn't require that the hours were continuous (i.e. we set up in the morning and then came back in the afternoon for the event). I got so many compliments on the space, and I would highly recommend the Solarium to anyone - especially to people who want to support a local community and a historical place.
The Solarium was well-priced, but you get what you pay for. The service was unprofessional and they didn't fulfill their promises. They made me move my ceremony location 2 months before my wedding after I had already printed invitations, and then they booked the venue during the time they said I could have a rehearsal (and didn't tell me until 3 weeks before). The day of my wedding we were kicked off the stairs next door where we tried to take pictures by a very rude man. The Solarium falsely advertised this in their wedding album. The staff is very unprofessional and unorganized. Of all my vendors for my wedding, this one put the most stress on me as a bride. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.
