The Something Blue Shoppe has a great selection of dresses and was the perfect place to get my wedding dress! They provided a very intimate and personal experience and I cant thank Emily enough for her help in selecting the perfect gown for my big day!
Loved my dress!!
I can not say enough amazing things about The Something Blue Shoppe. The first time I visited I went on a sales day and I didn't find the dress that was right for me. My salesperson, Blake, kept in contact with me and a few months later I went back for a 2nd. longer visit. Blake truly outdid himself. He took time to ask me questions about what I was looking for in our email communications. I was so stressed out as a curvy bride, but Blake took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and love what I was looking for. They have amazing options for plus size brides but the true gem of the store was Blake taking the time to make me feel special just like any other bride. I found my dress that day and I truly believe I owe it all to Blake and this shop's amazing inventory.
I will note that I did have some trouble with one of the steam alternations people they recommend. Long story short, I didn't have my veil on my wedding day because it was in her house. She also forgot about one of my appointments entirely.
All in all I love the shop, but be careful with the alterations people they recommend- which is not fault of their own.
Any questions?
The Something Blue Shoppe was AMAZING! They helped me find the perfect dress. The lady that helped me was very patient with me and helped me stay around my budget while giving me the dress of my dreams! They also preserved my dress and the process was super easy.
The perfect shop for finding your dream wedding dress! Staff was incredible and they were so great to work with! Highly recommend this vendor!
The Something Blue Shoppe is the absolute BEST dress store there is! Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed about finding my dress at this store, and the day itself was even greater than I could've ever imagined. Blake and TJ were the greatest in helping me find my perfect dress. I received so many compliments on my wedding day and I have The Something Blue to thank! I could not recommend this store any more - it is the best there is!
If you're looking for a personalized experience, this is your place! After setting up an appointment (and not feeling very hopefully, because I had a small budget), Vicki called me and asked what I was looking for. I sent her photos of dresses I already tried on that I liked, and she worked with my budget and style to find the perfect dress! I ended up purchasing my wedding dress from them, and it was under budget! I loved the atmosphere because the staff were all so friendly and supportive. I'm so happy with my experience there, and I cannot recommend them enough!
I couldn't be more grateful for the women here. I had pretty much given up on finding an amazing dress that also made me feel beautiful and then I came here! Their dress selection is gorgeous and plentiful. Prices can fit just about any budget and the women were a dream to work with. I mean just SO sweet. Check them out FOR SURE!
I found the perfect dress and Paige was the absolute sweetest most helpful person ever!! In fact, everyone there is really nice!!! I walked out of there feeling like the most important girl in the world!!
Love the friendly staff! They helped me find the perfect dress and got it delivered to me in plenty of time for alterations, even in the height of Covid. I took my dress back to have it pressed before my wedding and they did a fantastic job.
I had 2 horrible dress experiences before I found Something Blue. This is the GREATEST dress shop of all time and if I’d come here first I would have had a lot less headache. They listen to each detail you’re searching for and find the perfect thing. The customer service is INCREDIBLE (Blake is amazing and the sweetest). I truly don’t have a single bad thing to say. Learn from my mistakes and go here first!
My experience was an absolute dream! The customer service and passion for the work/brides is truly amazing. There could be a million people around and they make each bride feel special and that they are the most valued. Suzanne just read me like a book snd made the experience even better than I ever imagined. She seriously took what I liked and didn’t like into consideration. I would tell anyone getting married or in a wedding to go to this place! You won’t regret it!
8/1/2020 Update- I dreaded going to the alteration shop because of how dissapointed and sad/frustrated I was. The place I went was amazing. My dress was huge, they told me in the nicest way possible that I needed at lthe very least a size 8. I did not want them to feel bad for me, but the cup is exremely difficuly to alter. It is not meant to be altered. The waste the completely off. the small town sweet act The Something Blue Shop employees portray is sickening. And this cannot be blamed on "Corona" . the initial concern I expressed to the salesman (person) was when on Martin Luther King Day . My measurements were taken in less than 3 seconds in front of the register.
4/11/2020. I splurged on my wedding dress bc I went with my future sister-in-law to This shop where you make an appt. I didn't know she signed us both up for appts. I knew I had to have the dress. Worked a second job on the weekends. My mom came with me months later and they were so busy. I put the down payment and a guy took my measurements. I'm a size 6-8 and am a 36B cup. He said there were two dresses left in my size so it was good I ordered. The size was 12. I asked if that was normal and he said it is with wedding dresses especially coming from a company in Australia. The dress came in last week and they told me I had to pay the remaining balance over the phone. This was sat and they said I had to pick it up Monday. I drained my account bc I was prepared to have to pick it up so early. My wedding is in October and they said I could get it around July to have enough time for alterations. I already knew I was going somewhere else for alterations. I reluctantly paid over the phone and again expressed my concern about the size. They said I could come to the door , show my ID through the window and the dress would be set out and I had to sign and keep the pin. I was so nervous on the way home knowing that they didn't get my size correct. Sure enough, it's huge. Of course it can be taken in around the waste, but the cups look ridiculous on me.From top to bottom it doesnt fit AT ALL. So, now it's July and I have no way to pay for major alterations. It's strapless, but the way they put it on me in the store and whatever size the cup was didn't show cleavage. The only thing I can do is get a huge push padded bra, but that's not an option and it looks stupid. I'm so upset and hope there is some way to cut the cups, but I have no idea how. Of course sales are final, but I should have been able to try it on the store and send it back for another size before signing and paying. Especially since I told them numerous times, even trough the window the day I picked it up. Anyways, long story short, I should have said either you let me try on the dress or I will not pay the money. My dream dress with no way to have it altered bc it you can't change a D cup with B sized boobs. I do not reccommend this place to anyone. I was told that with the measurements they took, I would need minor alterations. Fake people who lied to my face. Knew I wasnt a size 12, but wanted the money. Instead of telling me that there are similar styles that are my size and in stock. My mother, who helped me pay for the dress, has no idea. She, also thought the employees were genuine. I do not know how they sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror since their job is deceiving people. If only I had of gone somewhere else:(
Coming to this shop made me feel like I was on a tv show like Say Yes to the Dress. The shop is beautiful and has a ton of dresses at different price points. The team there is so polite and really pays attention to what you want without being pushy. I highly recommend!
I HIGHLY recommend The Something Blue Shoppe for brides!! They really know how to make you feel like a princess. You are their top priority, and they give you their full attention the entire time you’re there. I can’t speak for everyone, but my experience at The Something Blue Shoppe was magical!
I wandered into the store thinking I would just get some ideas about what type of dresses I might like for my upcoming ceremony. Even though I did not have an appointment, Suzanne was kind enough to pull dresses with/for me, and I ended up falling in love with the perfect dress after only trying on 4! Suzanne was beyond helpful and really listened to my ideas - plus she was super sweet! She also picked out a beautiful matching veil and earrings. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a beautiful, reasonably priced wedding dress. The overall experience was wonderful!
The Something Blue Shoppe was great! They helped me find my perfect dress and made the whole process go smoothly.
Getting my dress at Something Blue Shoppe was such an easy going experience. I already know I wanted a Lillian West dress and they gave me all the time and encouragement to try on every dress I liked. I never felt rushed and the whole experience was fun and relaxed. I loved that I could go straight from choosing my dress into the bridesmaid section. The staff was extremely helpful and every worker made it really feel like the day was all about me. I absolutely loved my dress and the entire experience thanks to The Something Blue Shoppe!
I had the best experience working with this shop. Blake was able to find my dream dress instantly. I can in with photos and she immediate pulled a dress that was not only exactly what I wanted but within my budget. The shop helped me find and work with a local seamstress and were able to have my dress and veil pressed and ready for me so that I could look my best on my wedding day.
I had a wonderful experience with the process of getting my wedding dress. Kim was wonderful and listened to what I wanted amd what my family thought. She made me feel comfortable even after just having a baby. My dress came in with a broken zipper but the alterations were done very well and you could not even tell anything had been messed up. They were very understanding and so nice.
They were very kind and had a great selection. My issue was that I bought a mix-and-match dress. I was told it would be sown together already, but it arrived in two pieces. I was also told that it would be "good to go", which it wasn't - I needed extensive alterations. That sucked because my wedding was two weeks away at that point, and I lived an hour away. So I spent a ton of hours and a lot of money in gas just trying to get my dress to the point where I thought it would be when it arrived.
I also didn't get to choose my alteration lady, and I really didn't like her. She was stupid expensive - wanted $800 to hem my dress, for example. And she just kept adding more money even after we got the estimate at the beginning. Plus she told me she put in 3 bustles, but I could only ever find one. So overall a net neutral experience.
If you purchase your dress as a whole, buy it early enough, and get it altered somewhere else - then absolutely go there.
Blake at Something Blue was so great in helping me find a dress ! She knew about my issues I had at other bridal salons/boutiques and knew I was over shopping, but she made it fun and easy for me to find something there that I loved. Highly recommend you go here first and request Blake !
My wedding dress was perfect
Kim went above and beyond on helping me find the perfect dress! She was SO nice and such a joy to work with. The best bridal salon around!
This was my first stop for dress shopping and I found my dress after trying on only 3. Blake was great at being able to find my style and everything arrived on time! All the ladies in the shop were helpful when I went in a few other times to try on different veils and pick up.
Something Blue was my first stop for gown shopping. Paige Wilson helped me pick out several dresses to try on. I told her what I had in mind and she knew exactly the first dress to pick. I tried it on and after trying others on I came back to the first one. It was perfect. I literally chose the first dress I had ever tried on. Paige was absolutely wonderful from the beginning to the very end. If I were to go back I would not change one thing. I highly recommend seeing Paige Wilson at Something Blue. She made my process easy and fun! If you can give her your vision of the perfect gown I can almost guarantee that she can find one in the shop that fits it!
We loved working with the staff there. We bought my daughter's wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses there. They were helpful and knowledgeable and had a huge supply of dresses for her to try on. They were especially good at ordering the perfect size for her. She lives and works in the UK and would not be home until 2 weeks prior to the wedding. We did not have much time for extensive alterations, but thankfully, the dress they ordered her fit almost perfectly and required only a few very minor alterations. We will definitely shop there for my other daughter's wedding.
I had a great experience! The staff was so helpful and still helpful with all my questions! I loved that my bridal consultant took the time to get to know me as a person so she could pull some dresses that she thought complemented my personality!

Thank you, Lanie! We love making our brides feel special!
The staff was so helpful and efficient here. I loved my dress and felt so beautiful! They work very hard to make every bride feel beautiful, and you can sense it when you walk into their shop. Don't commit to a dress before stopping by The Something Blue Shoppe first!

Thank you, Hailee! We appreciate you and we are thrilled that you found your dress at Something Blue!
I had an incredible experience when I was there to shop; however after they get your business you are nothing. The gown I selected was a little snug in my chest, they measured me and told me since the gown had not yet been released, it could be customized to my height, and they measured me. They recommended I get the same size gown, but I let them know I’d rather order up because it was tight in my chest. My MOH vouches for this decision. They also told me they would assign an alterations place from my hometown so I wouldn’t have to travel 45 minutes for fittings, but my first fitting would be at the store, and the cost for the fitting (not alterations-the fitting) would be included if I scheduled it when I went to pick it up after arrival.. Fast forward 6 months, gown arrives.
What a nightmare...
I have lost 12 pounds and 2 inches on my body since I picked out this gown, not only was the dress way too small (as in would not zip up) it was unbelievable wrinkled and looked like it had been folded and balled up in storage until I got there (4 days after they called and told me it arrived.) up it was clearly a mismarked gown by the tag. The dress is Ivory, the tag said platinum.
They claimed they would have the seamstress measure it and call me back... and it has been a month, they have not returned my calls.
I went back to the seamstress they assigned to me today because I’m plum out of time at this point... she took it out so much that it now has to taken in 1.5 inches in my waist, and my breasts still look too big for the cups. Oh, and I have to pay for it, even thought I already paid for it... let’s be real, who can lose 1.5 inches in 28 days around the waist. I’m not a fat girl, I’m not a skinny girl, that’s not realistic.
Here I am $900 into alterations and it’s going to take a minimum of two more fittings, just to see her costs $25-$50 for her “time” and Something Blue won’t even apologize, even though the seamstress told me she let them know the Gown did not arrive as a size 8 when she measurements before she started alterations.
The alterations on this unbelievable misordered item are going to cost almost as much as the overpriced gown.
The fact that it looks like it was crumbled into a ball, they won’t return my calls, it’s a criminal business going out there, don’t waste your time. They maybe the oldest spot in Alabama, but you can go to several of the new boutiques and they atleast partake in your gown from the time you step in to the time you walk down the aisle.

Jennifer, we are so sorry that you are unhappy. Please contact the store manager and we will do all that we can to correct the situation.
Love love love!!! They made me feel Very special! They made sure I loved my dress and that my wedding party wasn’t taking over for me. Highly recommend!!!
I worked with Paige to find my dress and she did an incredible job. I came in for my initial appointment with a few pictures of what I liked and she found many different dresses that I not only loved but were with in my budget. The hardest part was narrowing it down to just one. She also kept in touch with as my dress and accessories arrived in the store and set-up my courtesy pressing appointment for me. She was great to work with and the shop is beautiful!
We recently purchased a wedding gown and are thrilled with it. The staff is so attentive and welcoming. They really listened to my daughter and what she wanted in her dress. Blake was her consultant, and T.J. also stepped in to help. We ended up blending the top of one dress with the skirt of another (Robert Bullock) and they helped us add the details that made it her perfect dress. We had shopped at other stores but did not receive the personal attention that we were given at Something Blue. They truly made our experience a pleasure and made sure that my daughter was able to find her "dream dress".
Excellent service. Suzanne was very personable and professional. She did a great job helping me figure out what style dress I wanted!
I had a wonderful experience with this shop!! My consultant (Blake) was a dream to work with. So helpful, so sweet, and she listened really well to my concerns, likes, dislikes, etc. When I finally decided on a dress (a custom one!) some of the staff stayed about 45 minutes after the store closed to help me get everything just perfect for my order. I would highly recommend this shop to any bride! They have a great selection of beautiful dresses in many styles. It is a small shop, so be aware of that when going at a busy time and/or with several guests. I went on a busy Saturday with four other people and we had no problem. As long as you're not expecting your own private area (they only have two pedestals you have to share with other brides, but I only had to wait probably a total of 3 minutes my entire 1.5-hour appointment) and you're flexible, it is a great experience!
I got my wedding dress from here! Not only was it my dream dress, but the experience was a dream, too!
I had visited about four other bridal stores before coming to Something Blue, so I had a little bit of experience. I was completely blown away with Something Blue! I knew in my head what I was looking for but had yet to see all of it in one piece and Paige listened to every word I said and ultimately looked at me and said "wait right here I think I have something that might work." I put it on and knew it was the one. She knew what I wanted just from listening to me and narrowing things down! Paige made my wedding dress experience unforgettable and I am so thankful to her and everyone that helped me at Something Blue!
I cannot say enough great things about The Something Blue Shoppe. They are fantastic! Kim was my consultant and she is not only a wonderful person but an amazing consultant! She found the perfect dress for me while making the day special and making it an experience that I will never forget. They are all extremely helpful and kind. It is a blessing to find a wonderful place like this!

Thank you so much for your kind review. We truly appreciate our Blue Shoppe brides!
The ladies and gentleman were EXTRA super supportive and wonderful and helped me find my dream dress! Paige Wilson brought me a beautiful dress I never would've picked for myself and it was the ONE! I definitely recommend Ms. Paige and the Shoppe!
The Something Blue Shoppe was totally worth the drive. I live in Birmingham and hoped to find a dress here, but had heard from many people how great this shop's selection and prices were. I lucked out and came the weekend that there was a Lilian West trunk show and found the dress I had been searching for all over. The customer service was amazing before, during, and after finding my dress. I also used Margret to get alterations through and she was so sweet and accommodating to my schedule. I went to many many stores, but this one had the biggest and prettiest variety of dresses I had seen even in the Birmingham shops.
I don't think I can do The Something Blue Shoppe and its staff the justice they deserve in this review other than to say it was the experience I always dreamed of. Suzanne was so helpful and sweet. I was able to look through dresses and pick what caught my eye, they were able to accommodate my budget and shared in my joy when I found my dress after only trying on 5! I got my tears of joy moment with my mom and was able to find all the accessories I needed! I love in Birmingham and the hour and 15 min drive was worth it! You can't get personalization like this in a big city!
My daughter came from Denver, Colorado to look for her wedding dress so that her maid of honor, grandmother and myself could be with her. I scheduled a private appointment because I wanted this to be an even more special occasion since we would not all be together to plan other areas of the wedding. We could not have asked for anyone better than TJ and Paige to help with our experience. Sara found THE dress but after having looked at several other boutiques that day, we forgot to make sure the dress was ordered in white. The next morning, we realized that the dress we ordered was ivory. I immediately called the Something Blue Shoppe and explained the situation and asked if we could make a change. We had been told to double check the details before we left but we overlooked this VERY important detail. The associate on the telephone said that since it was the week of Thanksgiving and things were moving slowly she didn't think that would be a problem at all. Then, when she looked in the computer she couldn't find the dress in white. She asked if she could call me back when she found out what was the problem. She did not call me back, TJ did. He was off that day getting ready for a party but still took time to call back to explain that the dress was made of Chantilly lace and that Chantilly lace did not come in white. He was not upset or ugly. He called to talk because he knew how much Sara loved the dress. Several times since we've called asking for information about the dress and they have ALWAYS been friendly and accommodating. Love the Something Blue Shoppe. And Sara's dress was not on the high end of their selections so it has nothing to do with the cost of the dress.
This shop is perfect in the small downtown location. It is small enough that you don't feel overwhelmed, but have enough selection you can find your dream dress. The staff is AMAZING! My girl did a great job of making sure I picked what I loved and not what everyone else wanted to see me wear. The shop is set up beautifully with large mirrors and great lighting so you can really spread out and see yourself as a bride. The alterations lady is very professional and is amazing at her job. She won't let you walk out of the shop till your dress fits you exactly they way it should.
Many of my friends have had such great experiences at Something Blue that I traveled back home to North Alabama from Greenville, SC to shop here. I could not be happier that I did! The experience of trying on dresses with my two best friends and my mother is one I will always cherish. The staff was so kind and helpful and truly made the experience magical. I found my dream dress (the exact dress I had seen in a magazine and liked turned out to the be the one!). We did not do a first look at our wedding so the first time my husband saw the dress was as I walked down the aisle. He told me afterwards that if he had unlimited choice of dresses, the one I wore would have been his exact pick also. The staff is so knowledgable and can truly make you feel like a beautiful bride, no matter your budget. We also purchased our invitations through their in house discount after buying my dress with them. They turned out to be absolutely stunning and arrived only a week after ordering them.
Easy to work with and accomodating. My bridal appointment was scheduled for an hour and a half and I ended up being there for three hours still trying on dresses. They let me pick out any and all dresses I might potentially like to try on. They offer other services such as alterations, bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, shoes, etc.
My experience at the Something Blue Shoppe was great! I shopped around at other stores in north AL and just so happened to find THE DRESS at Something Blue. My consultant was Heather. She was sweet and did a great job keeping dresses within my budget.
The most surprising thing to me was the cost of alterations. The only alterations were adding a bustle and putting a dart in the chest area of my dress (no hem or anything like that). The alterations ran around $200. A friend who majored in fashion design assured me this was reasonable because the darts required taking apart the entire bodice, but this was a cost that I didn't account for in my original budget. So just be aware of this potential expense!
Great salon to get your gown and all your bridal part gowns, as well as an experience of a lifetime! Awesome selection and prices!
This was the last stop we made before leaving the state of AL on the search for my wedding dress! The store is filled with lovely people, especially TJ, who went over the top to help! I got my dress, veil, and hair piece that I wore at the reception here! It had everything! I ordered my dress a size bigger than what I measured just to be safe and had to do a lot of alterations, but the dress was beautiful! I had a great experience.
I was convinced that I would not find a dress in the shop because of limited options. I was wrong. They have so many styles and designs to choose from! All the staff were wonderful! I told them my budget and they stuck to it. The third dress I tried on was the one! They were so patient in letting me decide and accessorize. Definitely worth the drive and little extra money!
Something Blue has a fantastic selection of dresses. My consultant, Pat, took her time with me and showed me over 10 dresses before I chose mine. I ordered that day and my dress ended up coming in TWO MONTHS prior to the expected arrival date. My wedding was in 4 months, and they did a great job rushing it in.
I went in more than once to try it on and even though I had already purchased everything I was going to buy the consultants were all very nice and took their time. I never felt rushed.
My dress came in and wasn't exactly like the one I had tried on (the shape wasn't as mermaid-ish even though I ordered the exact same size as the sample), but the in-house alterations woman fixed it. Her alterations were very well done and were all finished in a week. She was a little standoffish, but whatever - she did a good job.
I would recommend Something Blue for the atmosphere and great selection of dresses and accessories.
This was the second place I went to try on dresses and it was different than any other bridal store I've been in. They are so friendly! It seems that warmth doesn't abound in the bridal attire community. But does at Something Blue! Everyone I encountered was so helpful, they remembered my name, and they seemed like they genuinely wanted to get to know my mom and me. The alterations weren't exactly perfect the first time and I was leaving the next day. They had the adjustments made within a couple of hours! TJ was so great to work with. He even searched for a pair of earrings on his own time. He told me honestly (but kindly) what made my body look great and what I should avoid. He was gentle with the criticism and it really helped guide me toward my best style. I felt absolutely gorgeous in my dress and accessories and I needed that guidance to get there. My full-lace dream dress with a train, my veil, custom headpiece, earrings, and shoes came to around $2000 all together! VERY affordable!
On June 5, 2014 at 6:15p.m. I(The Bride) went to the Something Blue Shoppe with one of my bridesmaids to have her fitted because my bridal consultant informed me that they would do a price match for a Bill Levkoff dress (489)which was $220 at Madison Town & Country because at the Something Blue Shoppe it was $235. I told the young lady that was assisting me that Madison Town & Country gave me a total price of $203.83(including tax) and I stated that they DO NOT charge for shipping. The dress was originally $220 with a 15% discount for purchasing 2 or more dresses then add 9% tax with free shipping equals $203.83. For the store manager TJ free shipping was an issue because he told me that I was wrong and that Madison Town & Country does charge for shipping. I stated to him that I specifically asked that question and the lady at Madison Town & Country said NO THEY DON'T CHARGE FOR SHIPPING. TJ, the store manager, could have politely stated okay let me verify that information in the morning and I'll contact you as soon as it is verified, but instead TJ yelled at me stating that I was wrong very loudly in front of associates and customers. TJ was very unprofessional, disrespectful, overly rude in tone and has lost my business as a customer for treating me this way. I WILL NOT BE TREATED THIS WAY AND THIS COMPANY EXPECTS ME TO STAY AS A CUSTOMER!!!! I, along with others should not have to spend our hard earned money in an entity that does not respect you nor show good customer service. I am disgusted at how I was treated and understand if no one speaks up for fear of losing their job. Jobs are hard to come by nowadays but in order to keep your business thriving you must treat others especially your customers with RESPECT!!!! I asked for the owners information and the young lady that was assisting me was very hesitant but I could tell she wanted to help. The store manager TJ yelled to her that the owner would not be back for 5-6 weeks. So I said okay I will call her on the 7th week because you have been extremely rude to me today. He yelled again that I can just call the store if I want to speak to the owner when she gets back and that the owner does not need to be bothered with this situation. I immediately left the store because the situation was not being resolved. I was told by my bridesmaid that an older heavy set lady(associate) came over to the young lady that was assisting us and asked "So, how is your day going?" This associate is not helping the situation. The lady that was assisting me was not the problem it was her manager TJ who was unprofessional. I hope this situation can be resolved by the owner Sarah Morris(I found the name on this site) and a situation that TJ can reflect on to ask himself how could he have handled this situation better. I am a Dissatisfied Bride. This is suppose to be an exciting and happy time but yet I am on the BBB website writing about a horrible experience from a Store Manager named TJ. I would like my bridesmaids to be refunded their deposits so that we can take our money and business elsewhere.
Perfect customer service, beautiful dress!
I was a girl who always wanted to be the Something Blue Bride...and I was. And I had the most amazing experience. This would have been a 5 star rating...except for one thing. My bridesmaids got the shaft! We all live in the Huntsville area, so EVERY trip to Hartselle is a pivotal trip. All of my girls found their dresses, and paid for them in full on the day of purchase. This being said, when the girls were trying on the dresses, none of the ladies working there would help them get zipped in or clipped..I DID IT. We all got our dresses altered at the shoppe. When my Maid of Honor went to pick up her dress (after they said it would be finished), they hadn't even touched her dress. So she went home empty handed, and would have to make an additional trip to try on, and pick up the dress. On the day of the wedding...the zipper on her dress BROKE! This is about 30 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. We called the shop, to see if they had any other blue dresses in stock...no (that's understandable)But when we asked if they could send a seamstress up to help with the situation, they told us, "we cannot do that, you would have to come here to have this issue dealt with". REALLY? Your business just made a few thousand dollars from my bridal party and myself, and this is now my problem because your dress is cheap? Thankfully the owner of Creekside Plantation (the venue) knew a woman down the street who was a seamstress, so she dove my MOH to her house, and she altered the dress FREE of charge. I believe she even called Something Blue, and later told me that she and her husband would never recommend this shop to any bride ever again. What they did was unprofessional, unkind, and just down right rude! They only want to be a part of your special day until they get your money, and then they wipe their hand of you! I will never do business with them again. No one treats my family that way! My experience may have been great, but I judge based on the big picture...and it was a sloppy paint job.
I love The Something Blue Shoppe! Found my dream dress as soon as I walked in the door! All the staff were so sweet! The only thing I would recommend is look around for alterations because mine were VERY expensive!
The something blue shoppe provides an atmosphere that makes finding your dress priceless. They give you time to look and try on and also asign you a personal shopper that also listens to your wants and finds dresses in your price range that you might like. She is also there helping with the dresses. It was such a wonderful experience.
I went to three different shops to look for wedding dresses and the other two did not even hold a flame to Something Blue! Crystal was my consultant and she pulled the dress I ended up buying! The entire experience was so much fun and overall Perfect! I have sent friends to this shop to look for their dresses and they had the same experience. Definitely go to the shop but if you can get Crystal!
They had a very large selection of beautiful gowns. They were very sweet and helpful and allowed me to take my time in trying on dresses and deciding.
they have the best selection of dress's by far. I went to 5 other places, and no one had anything like this store did! I had a few issues with the seamstress but nothing major!
They have the best selection and such a knowledgeable staff. They know all of the dresses they have and are able to pick out one that fits your style perfectly.
I love my wedding dress. I got it within the price range of what I wanted to pay for it. This shop is so cute and has some wonderful dresses. It was my first store my dress was number 3 out of 8. The only thing I was disappointed in was that I wasn't informed on their "signature" service. The shop will embroider your wedding date in blue underneath the dress. When I found out that they could do that was a month before the wedding & it would be an additional $50. I personally did not want to pay anymore for my wedding than I needed to. So I did not do that. I still recommend this store and if you want the embroidering done just make sure you have enough time to get it!
I first tried on dresses at David's Bridal and felt like the dresses I tried on were cheapened and not completely worth the prices they offered. My second stop was the Something Blue Shoppe and I could not have been more pleased! They helped me find my 'dream dress' and made the moment very special for me. Their service was very kind and helpful. Their seemstress was so very sweet and willing to work with me on price! All of their dresses are excellent quality, a little pricey but I would pay the same for my dress all over again... it was worth it! I highly recommend this bridal store! :)
They were wonderful until I purchased the dress...then the nice people that sold it to me weren't so nice anymore. Apparently all they are concerned with is getting the sale.
My wedding dress was amazing. I felt like a queen the day I came in to try on dresses. My assistant Robin was incredible and I cant say enough about her. Dress was well worth the price and alterations/cleanings were inexpensive. My experience as a bride was great. When I brought my maid of honor in to try on dresses, everything kind of went downhill. Because I bought my dress there, we got a discount on the bridesmaids dresses. My maid of honor paid in full for her dress the day she tried on the dresses. My other bridesmaids found their dresses at various shops across the state and online for $20-50 cheaper than at Something Blue, even with Something Blue's discount! Because no one else bought their dresses from there, they made my maid of honor come back and pay more for hers. They also gave her a hard time during her dress fitting about not bringing her shoes with her (the dresses were above the knee). Another one of my bridesmaids called to let them know she wasnt buying her dress from there and they could mark her off the list, and they were very rude to her on the phone. They were also rude to me when I called to enquire about it.
Overall, my gown was wonderful and my experience was good as the bride. I do not suggest getting bridesmaids dresses there.
My dress came from Something Blue is Hartselle, Alabama and it was the most special moment I have ever expereicned when I first tried it on! Lis Simon's Constance was the dress that I wore to my wedding and it all started at Something Blue! They have the most professionaly and curteous staff! We have shopped there for dresses for years! They take special care of the Bride and her wishes and they do a wonderful job at it! The alterations lady is THE BEST too! I love my custom veil, as well! It is AWESOME and so unique! You will not go wrong shopping for your dream dress here!
This was the second wedding shop I went to and they were great! I described what I was looking for and when I needed it. She told me to take a look at two different designers that would be here in time and she pulled out dresses that matched what I was looking for and I found it! They helped me with alterations, half off invitations, and just so pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend coming here!
I started my dress shopping here and said "yes" to the dress within hours! The girls at the Something Blue Shoppe are phenomenal! They pulled dresses in my size and style so easily and quickly and I ended up with my dream dress. The pricing was very reasonable, and the shop feels like a fancy boutique. They kept me updated and informed about my dress and even special ordered the exact jewelry I wanted. They are WONDERFUL!
I looked at several different shops and was disappointed in the gowns they offered, as well as the service. At The Something Blue Shoppe, I was pleased with both! They are open late on Thursday nights, which helped because I work and was driving from out of town. Also, they have beautiful, unique bridal gowns at a reasonable price. I actually had several options I was trying to choose from! I would recommend this store to any bride.
Something Blue has the most amazing dresses to choose from. It was my first and only pick when I was on the hunt for a gown. The ladies of Something Blue are very helpful and always willing to assist you. They give you personal attention and make your guests feel welcomed as well.
The ladies at The Something Blue Shoppe were precious. I had a major problem with my dress when it arrived, and they fixed the problem without question. They were wonderful to work with and helped take away any stress that I would have had otherwise.
The shop is always welcoming and looking to make your experience as pleasant as possible. They have a large selection in a wide price range. Lovely people and product
Great service and they treat each bride like they are the only one that matters. I found my perfect dress here.
The bridal consultants were very helpful in the store. I was so excited to know on my very first trip in the store that it was possible to get a dress for my wedding just 4 months away!! We had some issues with ordering our invitations through them. I would not recommend ordering invites there. Also, they forgot to give my mom my veil after the final cleaning. The morning of my wedding my mom went from Huntsville to Hartselle to get my veil. (oh yeah and my wedding was on a Sunday, so the volunteer fire department had an emergency contact that my mom used to get my veil from the shop!!! no compensation was offered. only a garder, which I already had as my wedding was that very day! We used the lady there as well for my alterations. She forgot to put the hooks on my dress to hook my train up to at the reception. I would not recommend her either.
The Something Blue Shoppe is great! My mom and I decided to go there our first time out shopping for my wedding dress. We weren't expecting to find anything. We had really just thought that we would drive out there, try on some dresses, and just get a better idea of what I wanted. We were there only 2 hours and I found the dress of my dreams! The consultant who worked with us, Robin, was so helpful and great to work with. I took in some pictures of dresses I had found online that I liked and she pulled some that she thought I would like based on that. While she did that, she let my mom and I walk though and pull any we saw and liked. I ended up getting my dress, hair piece, and shoes all from here and when we went back to pick up my shoes after being dyed, my mom found her dress as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone getting married to check this place out!
I truly enjoyed shopping at the Something Blue Shoppe for my wedding dress. I visited a bunch of shops when I was looking for my dress and they were one of the only shops that did not seem fake when they were assisting me.
The Something Blue Shoppe is definitely the nicest wedding dress boutique north of Birmingham. They have selective brands for reasonable prices. However, after you order and pay for your dress, the service they give you goes down the tube. I ordered my Pronovias dress from Spain 6 months in advance of my wedding. It was scheduled to come in 1 month before my big day which barely allowed enough time to get my bridal portraits done. But the Something Blue Shoppe assured me that it would work out. On the day it was scheduled to arrive, I called the Something Blue Shoppe to make sure it came, and they told me that it was delayed 2 weeks!!! If I had not called, I never would have never known about the delay! I was furious. Furthermore, how were they going to get the alterations completed in time? Here's the weird part...I got a phone call the following day saying it had arrived. All that stress for nothing? They obviously did not have a good grip on what was going on. Furthermore, after spending 8 hours in their store trying on dresses and purchasing one of their most expensive gowns, you would think that they would recognize me. However, when my mother and I went in a week later to look at accessories, they acted like they had no clue who we were! Very bad service. Finally, they ordered me the wrong size gown. They assured me that my alterations would be completed on time because they did not think the dress would need much altering. When it arrived and I tried it on, the gown was HUGE!!!!!! It needed altering in every way imaginable (alterations came to $300 total). They obviously do not know their products. Did I mention I was working with the OWNER (whose name was Sarah)????
I love this bridal boutique. It's nestled in a small town and you get treated like a queen. The consultant listened to what I wanted and helped me find the dress of my dreams. Happy brides is a priority and it shows in the attitudes and service of everyone there.
I totally came in to this shop with a certain dress in mind. I tried on several of them in this style and nothing quite worked or was just what I wanted and then my saleslady suggested the dress that turned out to be perfect. She knew my body type better than I did and the dress was so flattering I knew that it was the one. They were very warm and welcoming in this shop and made me feel very comfortable and I have them to thank for helping me to find the perfect dress for me.
I bought my Casablanca wedding gown from the store. The dress turned out perfectly and they also did the alterations from a third party person that works for them. They were very helpful and had a large showroom of dresses and a variety of styles and price points.
The people were so nice and welcoming. They have beautiful dresses.
The sample sales are amazing! GO GO GO!
My experience working with the staff of The Something Blue Shoppe was great! They know exactly how to make your dreams come true! I would highly recommend any bride to visit The Something Blue Shoppe to find the unique look every bride wants for their wedding day!
After I had not so good experience in David’s Bridal my friend took me to The Something Blue Shoppe. I tried on two gowns and chose mine. This place has an incredible alteration lady too. I would recommend The Something Blue Shoppe to any bride.
As soon as I walked up to the store, I saw a gorgeous Justin Alexander dress in the window, and I knew it was the one. However, as a non-traditional bride, I disliked the cliche of "It was the first dress I tried on!" So my sweet consultant, Robin, let me try on 11 dresses before taking THE ONE out of the window. It was a perfect experience. Robin even picked out the perfect shoes, veil, and jewelry from the store. I got EVERYTHING I needed from Something Blue!
I walked in the shop for the first time in April of 2010 and tried on my dream dress. The assistant with me that day gave me her name, she wrote down the dress number, the veil, and the headpiece. When the fitting came, the seamstress was very kind, on time, and knew exactly what I needed and was wanting. The dress was ready for pick up in the morning the day before the wedding and I didn't have to wait for them to steam it. It looked perfect when I got it and they explained everything to care about the dress to me.
The Something Blue had a great selection of dresses, but when I arrived they rushed me over to register without even asking my price range. Once I told them under $500 they looked at me like I was so poor and said "Oh our dresses start at $700...sorry!" and was done with me so quickly.
They were such a BIG help. They also had tons of dresses to pick from
this store is amazing and has some beautiful dresses and a great selection of veils etc.
