I had an incredible experience when I was there to shop; however after they get your business you are nothing. The gown I selected was a little snug in my chest, they measured me a...nd told me since the gown had not yet been released, it could be customized to my height, and they measured me. They recommended I get the same size gown, but I let them know I’d rather order up because it was tight in my chest. My MOH vouches for this decision. They also told me they would assign an alterations place from my hometown so I wouldn’t have to travel 45 minutes for fittings, but my first fitting would be at the store, and the cost for the fitting (not alterations-the fitting) would be included if I scheduled it when I went to pick it up after arrival.. Fast forward 6 months, gown arrives.
What a nightmare...
I have lost 12 pounds and 2 inches on my body since I picked out this gown, not only was the dress way too small (as in would not zip up) it was unbelievable wrinkled and looked like it had been folded and balled up in storage until I got there (4 days after they called and told me it arrived.) up it was clearly a mismarked gown by the tag. The dress is Ivory, the tag said platinum.
They claimed they would have the seamstress measure it and call me back... and it has been a month, they have not returned my calls.
I went back to the seamstress they assigned to me today because I’m plum out of time at this point... she took it out so much that it now has to taken in 1.5 inches in my waist, and my breasts still look too big for the cups. Oh, and I have to pay for it, even thought I already paid for it... let’s be real, who can lose 1.5 inches in 28 days around the waist. I’m not a fat girl, I’m not a skinny girl, that’s not realistic.
Here I am $900 into alterations and it’s going to take a minimum of two more fittings, just to see her costs $25-$50 for her “time” and Something Blue won’t even apologize, even though the seamstress told me she let them know the Gown did not arrive as a size 8 when she measurements before she started alterations.
The alterations on this unbelievable misordered item are going to cost almost as much as the overpriced gown.
The fact that it looks like it was crumbled into a ball, they won’t return my calls, it’s a criminal business going out there, don’t waste your time. They maybe the oldest spot in Alabama, but you can go to several of the new boutiques and they atleast partake in your gown from the time you step in to the time you walk down the aisle.
