emed to get worse. I went through Special Event for men’s wear, because I was told my groom would be free. However, when we picked up his attire, they said he was no longer free because we didn’t do a full tux. (1 employee even stated she has worked there for a year and just found out 3 weeks ago that the grooms would not be free if they don’t do a full tux, so how many others have had this problem?) So there goes $162 that was not in the budget. They also charged the BM twice for his attire, luckily they quickly refunded us when we were at the store the 2nd time. We were also told everyone’s attire would be in Tuesday before the wedding. My MOH brought the RB (5 y.o.) to get his stuff (2 hours round trip) on Wednesday, and his was still not there. They said they would ship it to my parents house, and they would send everyone else’s stuff with my MOH. She asked to check the bags to make sure everything was there, and said she was rushed out of the store. She got home and realized they didn’t send an ushers attire. So my mom and I made a trip up there Thursday to retrieve his stuff. When we were about 20 minutes from home (on our way back), we got a call that the RB stuff got shipped to the store by accident. (They accidentally shipped someone else’s suit to my parents, so we had an extra bag to worry about getting back). So my mom and I turned around and went back to get it. We spent 4-5 hours in the car, 2 days before the wedding. My mom left some concerns for the owner and asked her to call her when she was in. A week later, I got an email stating that she was following up on the concerns, avoiding calling my mom and talking to her about it. My mom called and the owner gave her excuses for every concern/problem we had. The owner said she had sent me an email stating my husbands stuff was no longer free. My mom asked her to forward that email to me, and a week later, I or my mom have still heard nothing. I do not recommend going to Special Event Boutique for anything with men’s wear. The owner has not been willing to work with my mom and I.

The tuxes all fit excellent, the bridesmaids dressed looked and fit wonderfully, and my wife's wedding gown turned an 11 into a 15. ;) Definitely recommend the team here.

Had my date wrong. Kind of rude to my child. My dress was great buy dont do whole wedding. Alot of misunderstandings. I wish i would have gone somewhere else.

by remaking a stock gown into the absolute gown of my dreams. The seamstress was spot on, the fit was perfect, and the overall experience was great. They seemed genuinely concerned about my situation and worked to make sure I felt every bit the "bride" I wanted to be. I recommend them highly.

The workers and manager told me that they price match, so when I found my dress elsewhere for $400 cheaper, I sent them all the necessary info they requested and they said they would get back to me. I never heard back. I called again, to get an answer that they in fact, could NOT price match because the designer sets the prices, not them. I found it odd that a designer would have a different price at two different stores. We were told by the manager she would call the designer herself and call us back the next day. Once again, NEVER heard back. During my fittings, I went ignored for long periods before being helped. When we asked to speak with manager, she said she was "too busy" and "I didn't plan on coming in today, so I look terrible", and wouldn't speak with us. I was happy with my decision to get the tuxes and bridesmaids dresses elsewhere!!!!

let me know to come in for an alteration appointment. I asked for undergarments and they were never ordered, therefore, on my wedding day the only undergarment I could find was constantly showing above my dress and I have many pictures with my bra showing! The alterations that were done on my dress were poor in quality and the seamstress left string tags on the bodice and didn't put in an agreed upon strap to hold the dress in place. I to pick up my dress twice because of the mistakes with the alterations and because the dress wasn't pressed the first time. I just loved my dress, I just didn't love the place I bought it from.

not help. We had fit problems with almost every garment including my wedding dress which was falling down all night due to poor alterations. We were quoted once price on our tuxes and when our groomsmen went to pick them up they had upped the price by $30 telling us that the shoes were a seperate charge. Two of the groomsman were given pants that were so tight that they ripped and we were then charged a $50 fee for each pair to have them replaced and one groomsman's pants were so large they fell down and we had to overnight a new pair, which they charged us $60 for. Besides 3 of my bridesmaid dresses ripping our junior bridesmaids, which we had paid extra money to have an altered bubble skirt on, had exposed tool on their waistline that left their skin raw. So I paid $250 a dress for our little girls and they couldn't wear them at the dance because of the rash it gave them. We told them about the problems and were basically told we were lying and were accused of "rough housing". When it came down to it there were so many mistakes and stresses the day of the wedding that I would NEVER recommend this boutique. Makes me sad to have this memory of my wedding day.

And the fittings done on their dresses truly made them fit like they were made for each girl. My dress was AMAZING! My whole look came together with the dress and all my accessories thanks to my consultant. Their seamstress knew what she was doing, my fittings went so smoothly and in the end I felt beautiful on my wedding day! The guys tuxes were so sharp! Loved that the consultants were there to make sure the guys left looking their best! I had the best experience at The Special Event. I loved that they are not just there to sell but to actually get to know me, my wedding party and everything about my event. It was great having a consultant that was with me every step of the way. nd they squeezed me in. I described a vision I had of the perfect dress and with 20 minutes they had me in my dream dress and we were signing paperwork! Their staff quickly caught on to my vision and my personality. They showed me a dress I was quite sure about, but believe it or not it ended up being my dress! I fell in love with it. They are not pushy, but rather care about you and what you want! They made my bridal gown experience perfect.

was offering us--then they matched, so don't pay the rate they first quote you! Everyone went in the day before the wedding to try on their tux to make sure there were no disasters, and SEB was able to do some last alterations to make sure everyone was looking great!
