The Special Event Boutique

Thank you for helping me find the dress of my dreams. Our consultant was amazing, and I was able to find the perfect dress well within my budget. Had a blast and there are so many options for the bridal party, too. Thank you!

I tried a couple other shops before visiting The Special Event, but this boutique was special. Denise provided exceptional customer service and was patient and so attentive to my needs and tastes. She helped me find the perfect dress, and when I got married recently, I received so many compliments on the one-of-a-kind dress. I'm so glad I shopped at The Special Event, and would recommend them to any bride!

I can’t say I am very impressed with Special Event Boutique. I did buy my dress through them, and had an awesome experience! However, after buying my dress, the customer service seemed to get worse. I went through Special Event for men’s wear, because I was told my groom would be free. However, when we picked up his attire, they said he was no longer free because we didn’t do a full tux. (1 employee even stated she has worked there for a year and just found out 3 weeks ago that the grooms would not be free if they don’t do a full tux, so how many others have had this problem?) So there goes $162 that was not in the budget. They also charged the BM twice for his attire, luckily they quickly refunded us when we were at the store the 2nd time. We were also told everyone’s attire would be in Tuesday before the wedding. My MOH brought the RB (5 y.o.) to get his stuff (2 hours round trip) on Wednesday, and his was still not there. They said they would ship it to my parents house, and they would send everyone else’s stuff with my MOH. She asked to check the bags to make sure everything was there, and said she was rushed out of the store. She got home and realized they didn’t send an ushers attire. So my mom and I made a trip up there Thursday to retrieve his stuff. When we were about 20 minutes from home (on our way back), we got a call that the RB stuff got shipped to the store by accident. (They accidentally shipped someone else’s suit to my parents, so we had an extra bag to worry about getting back). So my mom and I turned around and went back to get it. We spent 4-5 hours in the car, 2 days before the wedding. My mom left some concerns for the owner and asked her to call her when she was in. A week later, I got an email stating that she was following up on the concerns, avoiding calling my mom and talking to her about it. My mom called and the owner gave her excuses for every concern/problem we had. The owner said she had sent me an email stating my husbands stuff was no longer free. My mom asked her to forward that email to me, and a week later, I or my mom have still heard nothing. I do not recommend going to Special Event Boutique for anything with men’s wear. The owner has not been willing to work with my mom and I.

My wife and I had or our wedding back in October so this may be a little late but I felt that the team at SEB deserves this 5 star review. Not only were they cordial, accommodating, and patient with my crew of weirdo friends, but they had me, my wife, and the rest of the wedding party looking like models in a magazine. The tuxes all fit excellent, the bridesmaids dressed looked and fit wonderfully, and my wife's wedding gown turned an 11 into a 15. ;) Definitely recommend the team here.
