We couldn't have asked for a better wedding experience than what we had at The Standard in Rockford, Illinois. From the very start, their communication was top-notch, making the entire planning process seamless. The timeline they helped us create for the day was incredibly thoughtful, giving us plenty of time to enjoy every moment without feeling rushed or scrambling to stay on track.
A special shout-out to our day-of coordinator, Hannah Swanson, who was a lifesaver! She was always available to answer our questions leading up to the big day, and on the day of the wedding, she managed everything with such grace and professionalism. She ensured that the setup and teardown were flawless—exactly what we had envisioned. Hannah made everything run smoothly so we could truly focus on celebrating with our loved ones.
Sara Moore also went above and beyond in assisting us, especially when it came to payment questions and providing any extra details we needed. Her attentiveness made us feel like we were in great hands throughout the entire process.
We also have to mention how much everyone was impressed with the layout of the venue. Our wedding was on Sunday, September 1st, and we could not be happier with the service provided by the team at The Standard. From loading items into the venue to the last dance, the timeline was executed flawlessly down to the smallest detail.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Every room perfectly accommodates the needs of a wedding, provides comfort, and is extremely aesthetic. With Parella Beauty attached to the building, and with multiple desired photo locations within walking distance, our day was made calm and easy because of this venue.
Sara Moore, our wedding planner, helped us with every step throughout our engagement. She spent 2 years planning alongside us, and her efforts and expertise were imperative in helping us realize our vision. We could always rely on her because of her proactiveness and ability to balance multiple tasks at once, while her caring and patient disposition made interactions with her enjoyable and natural.
We have received no complaints or negative feedback from our wedding party, guests, or vendors. Rather have received glowing reviews about the venue, many of which site the beauty and convenience.

The Standard was absolutely everything I could have imagined for my wedding, and then some! Not only was the venue absolutely STUNNING, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind throughout the entire process. I worked with Sara throughout planning, and couldn't recommend her enough! She was so attentive, kind, and helpful, even with our endless questions. From assistance with the floor layout, to bar package questions, she responded in a timely manner and with so much professionalism and friendliness! She truly made everything so easy leading up to the day of. We also had Briana as our day of coordinator. She was incredibly helpful, and was a total rockstar! On top of being so sweet, she took charge and executed everything I had described to a T! Briana took my notes, and set up everything, making sure that my bridal party and I were able to enjoy the morning without running around setting up. She was always ready to assist with anything through the entire day, and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. The bar staff was also so wonderful! They were overly kind, and had drinks ready as soon as they saw me coming! They also made the signature drinks flow seamlessly with everything, and they were so delicious! Our guests were non-stop complimenting the uniquely beautiful venue on every level, and the staff! They were so professional and kind to absolutely everyone.

The standard went above and beyond for our wedding this June. The experience we had was unmatched. We used Sara as our planner and would recommend her a million times over to everyone getting married at the standard. She made our dreams come to life and was so kind/attentive/soft spoken throughout the entire planning process. Sara took every idea we had and executed it flawlessly. Tim - the bar manager went above and beyond to make our cocktail visions come to life. Tim even has rental options to make cocktail hour more lively - we rented yard games from him to have out during cocktail hour and the reception - our guests raved about it. The treatment we got from the standard made this the best experience we could have ever asked for. Sara presented us with ideas to make the day flow the best. She also got us the best vendors in the Rockford area - we really cared about having a guest centered wedding and she helped bring that to life. The venue itself is STUNNING - and the staff made it all worth it. Our guests complimented the professionalism and kindness they received from all of the staff. We are so sad that our time with the Standards staff is over - we looked forward to meeting and talking with them throughout our engagement. We definitely will have other events at the Standard as life events come up. The standard made our wedding perfect and the process was so fun for us - we felt so supported throughout and had guidance on all of the important decisions. We wish we could relive the day!

This venue is STUNNING, and so are the people in charge. Sara, Hannah and Tim were the absolute best people to work with! They know what they're doing and handled everything for us and relieved so much of the pressure and stress that comes with wedding planning. Every crazy idea i had they went with it and guided it to a reality nothing is off limits for them! Our guests had an amazing time and we received compliments all night and even days after the wedding about how gorgeous the venue was and how well planned everything was. I can't say enough good things about this venue and more importantly the team that run it. My wedding absolutely perfect and it was all because of them! Love you guys!
Everything was so easy with The Standard! We also got the planning package and everything was perfect. Sara got to know us and made sure that everything was what we were dreaming of. Hannah was our day of coordinator and she made sure everything ran smoothly. The day could not have been more perfect!
We recently had our wedding at The Standard and let me tell you THIS IS THE PLACE! The venue itself is gorgeous and for that we needed minimal decorations to help accentuate its beauty. It is nice to have a one stop shop venue with the ceremony and reception to be in the same place. Not to mention they have the best staff. Sara answered out a million questions with kindness and enthusiasm always. Hannah and Zoey were our day of coordinators and helped with anything we needed from coordination of rehearsal to helping set up decorations. Tim was an amazing bartender that kept our night lively and was so fun to work with. We couldn’t have had a more perfect wedding day and we couldn’t recommend The Standard and staff enough!

Where do we even start? This venue is breathtakingly beautiful, the staff are all kind, communicative, and personal. Our wedding was amazing thanks to the angel staff at this venue. We specifically worked with Maya, Hannah, Tim, and Sara the most during the planning process, and the wedding day. We strongly recommend getting day of coordinating services here. All of the staff went above and beyond to ensure our day went wonderfully. We are getting non stop compliments about our wedding, and it was truly the best day of our lives.
We had our wedding at The Standard earlier this month and I cannot say enough good things about this venue. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is incredible. We opted for the full coordination package and it was completely worth every penny. Sara worked with us to make sure every single detail was exactly what we wanted and often offered inspiration when we didn’t know exactly what we did want. She gave us a list of preferred local vendors, almost all of which we decided to choose and everyone worked so effortlessly as a team. On the day of the wedding, Sara and Hannah and the whole team working at The Standard constantly checked in with us to make sure we were okay and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could just enjoy the day. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful space and wonderful team of people to make your wedding dreams come true!
This venue and the lovely people that work here make booking this venue SO WORTH YOUR MONEY. We opted for the ceremony to be on the rooftop and had rain coming down just an hour or so before our ceremony was about to start; everyone working there wiped down every single chair outside as soon as it stopped raining so we could have our rooftop ceremony and it was perfect. They moved our cars so we wouldn't get tickets in the limited parking nearby, they kept the reception cool so we could keep dancing; no matter what, they were there to help make our day as perfect as possible, and that's what we got: a perfect wedding. Their communication is top notch; I asked so many questions via email and they would answer every single one, without leaving me to ask any more questions. I tried everything in my power to book our venue out of state (that was our original plan) and everything kept pointing to this amazing venue and their staff. They simply showed us their space and didn't butter us up to try to make a sale; they're just real people that want to give you the best day possible. Besides the wonderful staff, the venue itself is absolutely SICK; the multiple floors, original windows, gorgeous chandeliers, and exposed brick give it this amazing industrial feel that's also mixed with a city vibe that I haven't seen anywhere. If you have never been to The Standard, you are missing out! It is absolutely breathtaking & truly is the most perfect venue for a wedding. Most importantly, working with The Standard team put our minds at ease during the wedding planning process. From the moment we did our venue tour, we knew there was no other place we could see ourselves getting married at. During the months leading up to the wedding, the staff was nothing short of amazing. They were always so responsive & offered assistance when needed. The Day of Coordinators absolutely killed it. From the second we walked through the doors in the morning, they made everyone feel so welcomed. Throughout the reception, they would frequently checked in on us to see how things were going & tell us where we were in terms of our timeline. The coordinators were willing to answer any questions we had & be flexible on the spot. Also, shoutout to Tim and his bar staff as well! The service was phenomenal & the drinks were amazing. The staff here went above and beyond to help make our day perfect and we couldn't thank them enough. I would plan 10 more weddings if it meant that I got to work with The Standard team all over again.
I really had no idea what type of venue I was looking for when I first got engaged over two years ago. I saw pictures from The Standard from a mutual friend who got married here and really loved the way they turned out. So my now-husband and I took a tour and it was truly love at first sight. We put the down deposit the next week.
The venue itself is truly an embodiment of Rockford, IL. all while maintaining its own identity. Its classy and elegant, while having this cool industrial feel that felt perfect for our wedding. There's huge chandeliers/mirrors and the conservatory is absolutely breathtaking. Not only that, its fully ADA accessible, which was extremely important for us to have since we had friends and family who are using walkers, canes, etc. to get around.
I also had paid for the Tier 3 planning services to help with the big day, and I cannot state how worth it was to have that. Sara Moore is an absolute gem of a person. She is not only extremely professional, but she gets sh*t done. She's extremely attentive, kind and all around the best coordinator I could have asked for. In the two years she helped me plan, any time I had a question, she would answer. If I had a worry, she would dispel all of my fears expeditiously. Everyone who met her fell in love and understood why I had 0 levels of stress on my big day. She handled everything with grace and kindness, and I could write an entire review dedicated to her.
On top of that, The Standard's Bar Manager, Tim Woolsey, was also incredible. He is such a stand up guy! Funny, kind, attentive, and was always willing to work with us as we couldn't decide on a drink until the last minute. He responds extremely fast and he made everything on the bar side of things very easy to deal with and understand. He really took his time with you, and it was so appreciated.
They also have a full kitchen in the venue, which was perfect for caterers, and all of my guests had fresh, hot food, which was perfect.
All this to say, this venue was absolutely perfect from start to finish. I have absolutely nothing bad to say as my experience was so effortless, I wish I could get married all over again. Thank you to Sara, Tim, and everyone who helped us at the Standard. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for the city feel (without the city prices) to check this place out! The Standard really was the perfect place to get married and they made my wedding day everything that I thought it could be and more! I got married there in July of 2022 and they were so helpful in the planning leading up to the wedding. Sara (our wedding coordinator) was amazing at communicating with us over the planning process and our day-of coordinators were absolutely incredible in making all of the plans come to life on the actual wedding day. We loved the bride and groom suites and the rooftop was awesome for dancing at the end of the night :) I would highly recommend The Standard to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

I had been to a lot of venues, and I reply on my emotions a lot when I am picking places that are special to me. The Standard was the only venue I cried at and truly felt like a bride when I walked in. Sara and Hannah were amazing to work with and Tim (bar manager) helped me through all of the details. He even walked me over a drink to the dance floor, because I couldn't stop dancing the night away. Getting married on the rooftop was sooooo special and our guests still can't stop talking about the how romantic and beautiful the venue is. I had a few cousins take pictures because this is where they want to have their wedding some day. The Standard was the most beautiful wedding venue and everything about it made our day so perfect. The event coordinators made our day stress free which is incredible and I can’t imagine planning the wedding or coordinating the day without them. They were so attentive, helpful, and positive and went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. This venue is not your typical wedding venue and it’s sure to impress your guests. It’s the ideal space for a fun, beautiful wedding. Even though it rained and we couldn’t fully utilize the rooftop, the conservatory and every detail indoors was just as, if not more, stunning. The ladies enjoyed the lovely, spacious bridal suite and the guys had fun in their suite downstairs. I strongly recommend The Standard for your wedding venue - you will absolutely not regret it!
The Standard was the perfect choice of venue for us. We ended up doing the whole wedding up in the atrium and the roof area and it was so beautiful and perfect. We got so many compliments and couldn't imagine a more perfect venue. Not only that but the staff was so helpful and accommodating. All the girls at the Standard are awesome to work with!
The Standard is the venue I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little girl. The industrial chic atmosphere coupled with the gorgeous natural light on the 3rd floor atrium makes for a breathtaking venue for any occasion. My husband and I had our wedding at the Standard a few months back and couldn’t think of a single thing we’d change about our venue. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to hop up and lend a hand when they were needed. Our day of coordinator was the perfect level of involved while still not being anywhere near overbearing. Thank you all so much for all the help you provided us before, during, and after our big day! We would recommend this place to everyone.

Being a covid bride, the team at the standard were so accommodating, empathetic and helpful when we made the decision to push back our wedding not once but twice. We toured The Standard in fall of 2019 looking for a fall 2020 wedding. The staff was wonderful and we were blown away with every floor so we booked the next day!
Well as we all know 2020 did not go as planned for many. The team at The Standard was so accommodating and helpful, with quick email responses and a zoom call to explore options. We ended up postponing
a full year.
Our day was absolutely magical and I couldn't have picked a better venue. The only downside is that it's all over now!

We decided to have our wedding in Rockford (we're from Chicago) because of budgetary constraints, but this venue more than makes up for the hour and a half drive. It's stunning, our guests couldn't get over the space. Also, I honestly don't know what I would have done without the help of the Standard staff. I booked and payed for the planning package and I regret nothing. Sara and Maya walked me through everything from florals to band and they put out so many potential fires. They made the planning process so enjoyable and exciting! I booked this place because I liked the aesthetic, but I got SO MUCH MORE! You couldn't find a better venue with better staff!! Don't sleep on this venue!
I cannot say enough great things about The Standard! From the minute I visited them in 2018, I fell in love with the aesthetic of the building, the service, and everything they had to offer. We ended up having to postpone from summer to 2020 and finally had our wedding this past June. As far as the postponement, we were so very lucky with the Standard and how they handled everything. Sarah was great throughout the whole process - she must have answered 100's of my questions with no hesitation at all. We hired day of coordinators as well - Hannah and Maya were AMAZING. They went above and beyond to help me. Our day was a dream come true and the Standard played a HUGE role in that. I would recommend them over and over!

As soon as my husband and I walked into The Standard (after seeing many other venues in Chicago and surrounding areas) we knew it was the one. Even after changing our date during the Covid pandemic, I knew I wanted to wait it out so that we could have our wedding there.
To start the day, the girls got ready in the bridal suite, also using Arch Apothecary for hair and makeup which is conveniently located attached to the venue. All they had to do was walk across the hall to the Arch salon (which is also beautiful inside) when it was their turn. This was a big hit with the bridesmaids. The guys also enjoyed the "man cave" for lunch prior to the ceremony.
We had our cocktail hour on the rooftop, went down to the main banquet hall for dinner/speeches and first dances, then back up to the rooftop for dessert/party/dancing. This was probably the highlight of the venue for me (although we loved it all!!). To be able to dance outside on the rooftop under the string lights, while still having seating, the bar, and dessert/coffee available in the enclosed atrium was so perfect. Our guests were so impressed with the venue, and couldn't stop talking about how they loved transitioning to the different areas for cocktail hour/dinner/dancing.
On top of how beautiful the venue is, the staff at The Standard was truly amazing. Throughout the Covid pandemic they were so understanding and accommodating. They were so easy to communicate with, and made me feel extremely comfortable and prepared for our wedding day. We mostly worked with Sara (and had coordination with Johnna who was kind enough to continue working with us even after leaving The Standard to be at home with her new son). Both ladies were the best!!
We would definitely recommend The Standard to anyone in the Rockford or Chicagoland area (we live in the Chicago suburbs and we made a weekend out of it - the new Embassy Suites in Rockford was also so convenient and the perfect vibe for our wedding weekend!!)

Overall this was a 5 star venue complete with most amenities needed to host a great wedding. If I could give a half star, I would have given 4 1/2 stars because the price was similar for many of the Chicago venues yet without the extras that a big city affords for its guests. And at the time of reserving (approximately 2 years ago) they passed on the credit card fee to the credit card holder which I thought was tasteless. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. As a 'covid bride', I went through the anxiety of planning, then replanning my wedding to a different date, nearly a year later. Never in the process did I feel unsupported by this venue. Through all my questions (and many phone calls!), Sara and her staff remained extremely positive and solution-oriented. Making April 24th, 2021 the best day of my life.
We got numerous comments from guests such as 'This is the most beautiful venue I've been to' and 'I love how industrial-chic every floor is, including the wrought iron and exposed brick'. I especially fell in love with the bridal suite, groomsmen suite, rooftop, greenhouse & reception floor. Wait, did I just name them all?! haha. Each area in the venue truly had it's own charm, making it feel like guests had a change of setting for the ceremony and reception.
Special thank you to our day-of coordinator, Maya, for making sure we could get in to set up our decor, and for ensuring the wedding day ran smoothly. She made sure to check in on us periodically, greet the vendors, and make sure people were where they needed to be.

Couldn’t have asked for a better venue and staff. The venue is so unique and gorgeous. The top floor and rooftop deck make for the most amazing photos. The management team was so sweet and easy to work with and handled everything smoothly. It rained on our wedding day and we planned to get married on the rooftop so management checked in every so often to give a weather report and help decide whether we should move it inside. We had Taco Betty’s, which is located right by the Standard, cater the wedding and we received so many compliments on that, and the venue itself. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique wedding venue.
COVID bride here. Let's just start with the fact that The Standard is a gorgeous venue, and since they only specialize in weddings, they have the process down perfectly. Our wedding was supposed to be at The Standard in August 2020, and then COVID-19 hit. We ended up eloping and postponed our bigger celebration not once, but twice (both times they made everything so easy). Unfortunately, we still ended up needing to make the awful decision to cancel the entire gathering, and Sara and her team were absolutely wonderful. They refunded our entire deposit (amazing) and wished us all the best. This speaks volumes about the type of company and wedding vendor they are. If you get the chance to work with them, do it. You won't regret it.
Sara and the team at The Standard are the venue combination dreams are made of! We decided The Standard was our reception space almost as soon as we walked in. The building itself is absolutely stunning, and an exceptional combination of industrial and romantic. When the pandemic forced us to change our plans multiple times, Sara was readily available and even proactively reached out to us to provide reassurance and as much information as she could. There were a lot of stressful parts of navigating a COVID wedding but working with the team at The Standard was NOT one of them. Although we couldn't hold the reception we want to on our wedding day, we are thrilled to be working with them for our one year anniversary party. Run don't walk if you're looking for an amazing midwest venue!
The Standard is the perfect venue. If you are looking for an event space, it doesn't get any better than this. The interior is absolutely beautiful and the rooftop has a great view of the Rock River.
We got married at The Standard in December of 2020. Sara and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They assisted us through all sorts of changes due to the pandemic as we had to cut our guest list, communicate with vendors, and rearrange the space. While 2020 disrupted many of our plans, working with Sara and the team at The Standard was a great experience and we highly recommend it to others.

I fell in love with The Standard the moment I saw it. All the staff that we worked with & met throughout the process were so kind, personable & accommodating. We sadly could not go through with my dream wedding there (thank you Covid), but even when plans changed everyone was understanding and continued to offer their assistance. I would 10/10 recommend this venue to anybody wanting to plan any sort of event here!

The Standard is such a BEAUTIFUL venue with an industrial vibe mixed with elegance. My husband and I moved to CA 7 months before our wedding, but it was still a seamless process with planning as they were very helpful and attentive. Sara was very quick when replying to emails, and was always more than happy to answer ALL of my questions. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel our wedding due to COVID-19. The Standard was going to gladly allow us to simply change our wedding date, but we had personal reasons why we chose not to (nothing to due with the venue). They gave us our full refund back and wished us well. My husband and I were able to get married at the Court House on our date, but would love to have The Standard host our reception/celebration if we choose to have one in the future.
My fiancée and I were all set to have a great wedding at the Standard, then COVID-19 hit. Our wedding was suddenly in jeopardy, we were going to have to cancel what was supposed to be one of the most special days of our lives, it was devastating, but somehow the Standard staff and management managed to make our grave situation even worse.
We had no choice but to cancel our wedding due to government gathering restrictions, so we requested a full refund of $5,000 back from the Standard, if we couldn’t use the money to celebrate our marriage with our loved ones then at least it could help us get our new life started. However, the Standard refused, claiming that they ‘are not in a position to issue a refund’, in other words they are greedy leeches trying to suck money from newlyweds. Thankfully my fiancée and I went back to the contract we signed with the Standard where it clearly states that the client is due a FULL REFUND in the case of cancellations due to orders by governmental authorities, so we called their management to bring this to their attention yet they still refused to refund us and now threatened to bring in their attorney to ward us off. It became obvious that they had no intention of refunding us, they wanted to scare us and hope that we retreated like scared puppies while they run off with our money. Thankfully they have a half decent attorney who told them that due to the contract they had no choice but to refund us.
Weeks later we still never received a refund even though they claimed they mailed us a check. It never came. When we realized that they were yet again trying to swindle us we requested that they instead refund our credit card that we originally used to pay which is as simple as selecting ‘refund’ on the CC machine. Not so fast though… they now claimed they weren’t able to refund our credit card because they didn’t know how to do it since they have never had to process a refund for a client before, this was just one of the many excuses they gave to try and delay the refund even further. Finally, after further delays we had no choice but to inform them that our attorney would be contacting them if they continued to refuse to refund us, now they realized that they weren’t going to get away with stealing our 5K and they ‘magically’ figured out how to refund our credit card.
We really wanted our experience here to be a good memorable one, unfortunately this is memorable in the worst way possible and was a terrible stress to deal with during what should have been a wonderful time as we prepared for our marriage. I would not recommend the Standard to anyone after this, they have shown their true colors as money hungry, self-preserving creatures and it is a real shame.
We fell absolutely in love with the venue! Its beautiful, industrial, and charming. Its the farthest thing from your typical wedding venue. We knew we would book this venue as soon as we saw the atrium on the 3rd floor. Its stunning with the chandeliers and exposed brickbrick.
Johanna was amazing to work with. Sara was on maternity leave when we started the planning process with Johanna so most of our communication was through Johanna, but when Sara came back, she made sure to reach out to me and make sure we were all squared away. It definitely put me at ease knowing that their were two people working to make sure everything was in order. Johanna even made sure that during cocktail hour we were able to enjoy our hors d'oeuvre and brought us a plate of them. - MY HERO.
We were concerned about food knowing we could only book with one caterer, Abreo. If you worry about this DONT. I have never had food at a wedding that tasted this good! My husband and I are still receiving compliments on how phenomenal the food was. Abreo knocked it out of the park!
If you can book this venue, do it! You will not regret it!
Our wedding was absolutely stunning and the venue staff were lovely to work with. Even after the DJ decided to throw a wrench in things, the staff at the standard stepped up and made sure I was taken care of. I would definitely recommend them!
We made the trip from Chicago to get married at The Standard in November and could not be happier with that decision. The venue is definitely worth the drive! Everyone who works there (special shout out to Johnna and Sara) is extremely responsive, flexible and professional. The venue (on top of being gorgeous) was very clean, there are plenty of bathrooms on every level, and the elevator was fast and easy to access for our guests who didn't want to use the stairs to get from floor to floor. Also, the food catered through Abreo exceeded our expectations. The portions were extremely generous and everyone raved about the food. Cannot say enough great things about The Standard and their team!
The Standard is an AMAZING venue. My husband and I had our ceremony outside and reception on the second floor and it was amazing. I did not need to decorate at all, it was so beautiful itself. I have gotten so many compliments about my venue.
Johnna and Sara were so amazing to work with, they answered all of my questions and were so amazing leading up to it. I would highly recommend the day of coordinator - Johnna was so amazing, she made me feel like a TRUE bride and helped me with all of my needs that day. She took care of EVERYTHING for me. I could not have been more ecstatic about those two amazing woman.
Overall, I will always recommend this venue up and down. I was not let down once.
The Standard is an amazing venue. Both of our families still live around the Rockford area so I decided to check out this new venue in the heart of downtown. I live in the Chicago suburbs and did not picture myself getting married in Rockford but when we toured the venue we feel in love. It is modern and unique - which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process. The building has a floral shop and hair salon connected. This worked great the day of getting ready and giving feedback to the florist. Abreo is the caterer associated with the venue and I had so many guests compliment the food. I know the venue is the biggest expense for most brides - The rental fee was very similar to places I quoted in the Chicago suburbs which surprised me but after experiencing their service it is worth it. They really have the prefect wedding day down to a science and I would recommend anyone looking for an all in one location for your wedding to check this place out!
Wow! We couldn't have found a more perfect venue. When we started to look for venues for our wedding, we knew we wanted something unique. We found that and then some with The Standard. Guests are still talking about our wedding and how beautiful the venue was. Johnna and Sara were beyond helpful and made our day run so smoothly. We struggled with some rain on our wedding day, and Johnna was right there helping us flip the layout and prep for a potential indoor ceremony, all while keeping me (the bride) calm. We bought minimal decorations because the venue is so beautiful on its own. Another great thing about The Standard is working with Abreo and Chef Paul. The food was phenomenal and again, everyone was so helpful in making the day exactly as we wanted! It was truly a fairytale and I wish I could get married there again and again!!
The Standard is an absolutely incredible venue. We got married this past August and were happy with our experience.
Some highlights in my opinion were:
-the space is so beautiful, you do not need a ton of extra decorations/flowers/etc. It really speaks for itself.
-Abreo's food was AMAZING. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. The chicken was a huge hit, as well as the vanilla donut holes.
-It was nice and convenient to get hair and makeup done at Arch, then hang out in Bridal Suite all day.
-Haley Foster Photography was incredible and captured so many amazing pictures from our day.
Some cons:
-If you don't live near Rockford, just remember to plan for the amount of trips you'll have to make out to Rockford for meetings, etc.
-Now for our biggest bit of negative feedback, which was related to our experience with the coordinator, Johnna. The Standard offers tiered packages that you can purchase in regards to working with Johnna and I paid for tier 2. She was generally helpful and polite for a majority of the planning process. However, after the wedding while reviewing what comes with the tier 2 package, I realized I did not receive a majority of what I had paid for. Literally there were things listed under the tier 2 package that Johnna did not assist with in any way. When I reached out to her to politely explain what happened and ask for a partial refund (refunding the difference from tier 1 to tier 2 pricing), she never responded. My wedding was over two months ago and she has still not responded to any of my emails, voicemails, or text messages! In my opinion this is just completely unacceptable. I wound up contacting the owner's wife who immediately replied and gave me the refund I had asked for. Still left quite a bad taste on our post wedding experience. My advice - hire an outside coordinator. Or if you purchase a tiered package, stick to tier 1.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue or any kind of venue, stop here. The entire staff at the Standard is truly one of a kind. It was the first and only spot we visited on our quest to find a venue, and I knew in my heart it was the right spot. We chose correctly and had the best day of our entire lives. Sara and Johnna were so informative, easy going, and truly there to help. Example: my dad picked up the deserts/wedding cake the day of our wedding, and the bakery forgot to give him the cake. Whoops!! Not only did I have no idea about this, but Johnna was coming up with a solution immediately. She is AMAZING. The venue is beautiful, the food from Abreo was AMAZING, and all of the staff was the absolute best. We still have people coming up to us raving about our venue and our wedding. I’d do it again and again, but only at the Standard!!
We loved having our wedding at the Standard! Our guests all commented on how they had a wonderful time in such a unique location. We had the pleasure of working with Johnna who helped us make our vision come to life and worked with us every step of the way. Johnna was a pro when it came to coordinating with all of the vendors and she made sure the wedding party was taken care of. We would definitely recommend having your event at the Standard!
The Standard is by far the best wedding venue we have ever been to. We may be a little bias but it was absolutely perfect for our June wedding. Between the amazing decor and vibe, to the AMAZING food from Abreo, to the outstanding coordinator Johnna. You will not be disappointed when you choose The Standard. Our day literally could not have been more perfect! I could go on for ever but instead I just want everyone to know just how special and amazing The Standard truly is! Ahhh!! Thank you to the entire Standard team!
The moment we walked into The Standard my husband and I both knew that's where we wanted to have our ceremony. From the rooftop, to the bars, to the bridal suite/man cave, to the mirrors, to the chandeliers, and even to the empty open spaces. Every little detail is just beautiful. If we hadn't already booked our reception venue somewhere else, we would have booked that at The Standard as well. Johnna was a dream to work with leading up to and the day of the ceremony! Not only is there a beautiful space on the rooftop, there is a beautiful space inside as well which was such a relief to have as well. Such a beautiful wedding space. Would have our wedding here over and over again. Wonderful people!
My husband and I can't get over how perfect The Standard was for our December wedding! The venue is absolutely beautiful and full of gorgeous details that really make it one of a kind. It was the perfect location to have both a ceremony and reception, and the transition between the two events was seamless. Johnna and Sara were so helpful with the planning process, especially when it got down to crunch time. The planning website they use is very easy to navigate and all of our other vendors had access to it so they knew our seating chart, floor layout, timeline, etc. Johnna went above and beyond to make the rehearsal and the wedding an absolute breeze. My husband and I, along with our families, were able to fully enjoy the whole day because the staff at The Standard took care of everything.
Abreo caters the events at The Standard, and you won’t be disappointed. Paul and his staff were great to work with, and they even made our dream of a homemade ice cream sundae bar come true! The menu was customizable, and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions for the guests. Most importantly, the food was phenomenal!
We feel so lucky that we were able to have our wedding at The Standard, and we would not hesitate to recommend the venue for weddings or other events.
I don't even know where to begin with The Standard. I love this venue in so many ways.
To start, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. When my fiance and I went on our initial tour, I knew we'd found the place. Now given that it was the first place we looked at, my fiance insisted we give a few other places a chance, so I did. I looked into at least 7 other venues but ultimately, none of the compared. The style was perfect for me/what I wanted for my day. Modern, glamorous, and a bit industrial. And the fact that there's a rooftop adds a whole other level (pun intended) of beauty and uniqueness. I also loved that the ceremony and reception can be in the same place AND the bridal party can get ready at the venue with hair and make up just downstairs (if you choose to use Arch Apothecary's services). So convenient and eases the stress (and cost) of travel expenses (i.e. to salons or to and from hotel).
The staff at The Standard were all so knowledgable and friendly, making it so easy to work with and plan your perfect day. I was originally in contact with Sara then switched to Johnna due to some staffing changes. The Standard gave me ample notice of the change and ensured me Sara filled Johnna in on all my details and that she did! In typical type A, bride fashion I was nervous but the transition was seamless! Both Sara and Johnna are a joy to work with! I recommend opting in for the day-off coordinator option because Johnna made sure all the details I wanted went off without a hitch! Praises to her because for a guest count of over 240 people, there's a lot to organize.
The Standard has a partnership with Abreo for all catering needs. At first you might be a little bummed that you don't have more of a variety to choose from but trust me, you WILL NOT regret it. Paul and his staff at Abreo were great communicators and really worked with my fiance and I to check all possible options to ensure our apps, drinks, and dinner menu were everything we wanted but yet as affordable as possible. Even if you don't live in Rockford, be sure to attend your tasting!! It was one of my favorite parts of the wedding process! Paul explained each dish to my fiance and I (as well as my in-laws) and made sure we did not walk away hungry. I had so many people compliment us on our wedding food which to me, is a big deal! My fiance and I are big foodies. One guest even said it was the best wedding food she's ever had and another said it was the best steak (beef tenderloin) she's ever had, period. I'm drooling just thinking about it.
Overall, I would definitely recommend The Standard to a future bride and groom. They also do other events which I'm sure would be a blast as well!
I can’t get enough of this place! Staff are kind, available & helpful. The building is gorgeous & accommodating! They’ve made wedding planning a piece of (wedding) cake!
We were married at The Standard this past June and could not have picked a better venue, worked with a better team, or been happier with how the wedding turned out. Sara helped us to throw the most perfect wedding anyone could have ever asked for. Every detail was exactly as we envisioned, our friends and family had the time of their lives, and we had the best night ever. The venue was pristine from the Man Cave in the basement, to the gorgeous Bridal Suite and the Rooftop and Atrium.
Sara's relationships with many of our vendors, attention to detail, and calm nature helped both of us to feel relaxed and able to take the time to take in the importance of the day.
