The venue itself is also stunning, and I can’t applaud the staff enough for all their hard work. They are all highly experienced and on top of everything. The food at The State Room is also fantastic, and so many guests raved about how delicious everything was. Tom also goes out of his way to pick up the bride and her father and drive them to the ceremony and back. He drove my husband and I around for photos afterwards and drove us to the hotel at the end of the night. I also really did appreciate having Tom there to help straighten out my veil and fluff my dress before walking down the aisle! He works so hard and wears so many different hats. However, I did feel there were a few discrepancies. When we booked our wedding date, we were told we could pick out an antique car. We went to our final meeting thinking we would pick out the car, but it turns out that the car is whatever is available on that day. Also, I understand that this might just be how the wedding business works in general but when you invest so much money into your reception, I didn’t think I would have to specify these two things in advance but now wish I did. First, we had 6 guests cancel/no show at the reception. We didn’t get their meals packaged up to take home the next day, so we spent all of that money on 6 dishes and got nothing from it. Also, all of the flowers that we upgraded for the centerpieces were thrown out when staff started cleaning up at the end of the night, which upset me because we upgraded those flowers and they were beautiful and I would’ve loved to keep them. Another minor thing that I noticed was one of the hors d’oeuvres I selected was not being served at the reception, which was a disappointment because I was really looking forward to having it. Overall, we had a wonderful, positive experience with The State Room but one thing I would emphasize to all engaged couples, whether you get married at The State Room or not - you need to be over specific with what you want. Things that might seem obvious to you might not be to others!

Tom was right there waiting for us to be transported to and from pictures and even helped me carry the train of my dress, and all throughout the night was there with whatever we needed. life fairytale! We could tell right from the get-go, this was not Tom or Lisa's first rodeo. Their years of experience in the industry was a key component in making our day an absolute success. Located in steps from the NYS Capitol building, we chose The State Room because of its beauty, character, and history. After meeting Tom for the first time, we were confident we wouldn't need to spend thousands of extra dollars to hire a wedding planner. Tom and Lisa were exceptionally responsive via phone and email for the year and a half leading up to our wedding. We never felt like we couldn't reach out. They were always one step ahead and knew exactly what needed to be done and when. The day of, Tom was with me (the bride) every step of the way. He drove us to and from the church ceremony and around the city for photos in his picture-esque vintage car (a State Room perk!). Tom was patient, kind, and accommodating. It was a rainy day, but he did his best to keep me happy and dry. The food at The State Room was out of this world! That may be the number one compliment we've gotten from guests thus far. The wait and bar staff were exceptional. They were friendly and very helpful, especially when it came to packaging up all the leftovers. Tom and Lisa worked very well with our other vendors and all the formalities went smoothly. The overall ambiance of The State Room, especially for an evening wedding, is like no other. We danced the night away! I have had so many of our guests tell us this was the best wedding they've ever been to! Our wedding day was truly magical and we could not have pulled it off without Tom, Lisa, and the wonderful staff at The State Room!

thing regarding the venue. They had checklists that you would follow so you can stay on track for with what needed to be done. They always checked up on you every now and then to make sure you were doing okay with planning. Having your wedding at the State Room basically gives you a built in wedding planner! Any questions you have they have an answer, and the response time was very quick. The food was delicious, they aren’t lying when they say there will be ALOT of food. Im so glad we weren’t one of those couples who couldn’t eat on their wedding day! In fact, the only reason we couldn't finish dinner is because we got so full from Lisa bringing us a full spread of every cocktail hour appetizer we missed when we were out taking pictures! We got to sit alone in private and eat for a little bit and decompress which was really nice . All of the staff are very experienced and kept everything flowing, so i barely had any stress. We got compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how everyone had a great time partying. We can’t thank Tom and Lisa enough, they really made us feel like we were the only wedding they had this summer .

to check. The State Room was the third place we checked out...and Danielle wanted to stop then and there as this was the perfect place for our wedding. We were not quite sure if we could make things work out, but Tom worked with us to make sure our dream wedding was achievable. During the wedding planning process, Tom and Lisa explained what the State Room offered and frequently checked in with us to make sure we were getting our tasks for the wedding done. The wedding day itself was perfect! We wanted a simple but elegant ceremony and Tom made sure that was possible. We had both our ceremony and reception at the State Room and they were able to make this a quick and seamless transition. During the reception, our guests were provided with champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and service that was A+. Renee, who was covering for Lisa that day, was sensational! She made sure that my mom did not have to wait in line for drinks. Additionally, I asked her to make sure my Pop was able to sample any and every hors d'oeuvre. She went above and beyond...SHE BROUGHT HIM HIS OWN SAMPLER PLATE. He is still talking about it! The only complaint that we have heard so far was that hors d'oeuvres were so good that few people had room for dinner. But don't worry, the portions for dinner were the best I have experienced thus far! One of the things many people told me prior to the wedding was to make sure Danielle and I got alone time to embrace the moment. The State Room did that and it was the highlight of our night. We were provided with food, champagne and our signature drinks. But most importantly, we were provided with time to be husband and wife. Another thing they did that can't go unmentioned was make our daughter Katie feel like it was her big day too! Katie sat centerstage with us. Throughout the process Lisa checked in to make sure that Katie's wants would be met (including her having chicken nuggets and cupcakes). Katie still talks about "the best day ever!!!" On the actual wedding day, Renee stepped in for Lisa who unfortunately couldn't be there that day for personal reasons. But Renee was so incredibly professional, kind and helpful, it was like we had been working with her from the beginning. She helped make everything run so smoothly and we can't thank both her and Tom enough for all they did to make our wedding perfect. They allowed us to just sit back and enjoy our own wedding while they took care of every little detail. There are a lot of reviews that talk about the food, but that's because it truly is unlike any other wedding venue I've been to. Everything is delicious, it's all freshly cooked on site, and just the amount of food alone makes the State Room completely worth it. They also provide takeaway boxes for anyone who wants to take their food home with them, which is something you so rarely see at other venues. It was such a nice perk that everyone at our wedding was super appreciative of. Overall I can't say enough good things about the State Room and I'd strongly recommend choosing them as your venue, because they will bend over backwards to ensure your wedding is the best day of your life!

They were as invested in planning our wedding as we were and made sure that we followed a timeline and got things done–Tom and Lisa acted as our wedding planners! On top of that, you can’t beat the beauty and grandeur of the venue–just stunning! Tom showed up to the church about an hour before the ceremony to help out–he helped carry my dress and bouquet and made sure I had whatever I needed. You really are his priority and he makes it known. After the ceremony, Tom is right there to give you a bottle of water and whisk you back downtown in his car. I could write an entire review for the food itself. Everyone at the wedding was so full from the amount of food they ate–the largest prime ribs we have ever eaten, endless appetizers, and mountains of cake. And then a fun food finale to top it all off! Our guests are still talking about the food! We had the most wonderful wedding thanks to Tom and Lisa and the rest of the staff at The State Room!

Third times a charm; the State Room was our third venue we looked at & we both (even my mom) got the “feeling”! They made the planning as easy and stress free as planning a wedding could be. I am a very organized person & like to have visuals; Tom and Lisa provided word documents, spreadsheets, and had everything detailed so we wouldn’t miss a beat while planning. They were always a phone call or email away with any questions, concerns etc., which is something we really appreciated. We also highly recommend having your rehearsal dinner there upstairs… convenient, delicious, & of course great service. Now to the big day! From our very first conversation Tom said, “you’ll be my daughter for the day” & he sure did. From undivided attention, to making sure things run smoothly, to cooking in the kitchen! He drove us around in an antique car for our pictures before the ceremony, held the train of my dress & fluffed when needed & brought us to our hotel room when our night came to an end. The food was phenomenal, pretty much all of our guests left with to-go boxes. We weren’t even finished with cocktail hour & guests were coming up to us to say “this is the best wedding they’ve ever been to” and “the food is delicious”! It felt so good to know not only we were happy but our guests were too! The next day Tom & Lisa had everything packed up for us, he even helped us load our car! We cannot say enough great things about Tom and Lisa. From keeping us on schedule, to dealing with our stress and anxiety & being genuinely amazing people! They will always have a special place in our hearts for helping us with one of our biggest life events thus far. Anyone looking for a venue, this is it!

From our first meeting and food tasting through the actual wedding day, the staff was attentive, responsive, and accommodating. We are still getting messages from family & friends about how incredible it was (coconut shrimp and 1 lb filet mignons were some of the highlights). Tom went above and beyond, surprising guests with late night snacks and ice cream sundaes. His staff was extremely attentive to our guests dietary restrictions and providing personalized alternatives to suit their needs. The room itself was STUNNING that night, as they worked with my specific and particular vision. The marble walls and extraordinary chandelier are unlike any other venue we've been to. Thank you again to my dad and his staff on putting on one of the best moments of our lives. friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding. The food was incredible, and never ending, and the venue itself is breathtaking. The bartenders and waitstaff were incredible! Tom and Lisa made it a point to make sure both my wife and I ate throughout the night. They set us up in a private area where we got to eat the passed hors d’oeuvres and enjoy a moment to ourselves after the ceremony. They also wrapped our entrées and provided to go boxes and boxed the top tier of our wedding cake. If you are debating getting the 'Final Food Finale', don't think twice! It was spectacular! Tom and Lisa made the planning process of a wedding super easy and straightforward. Who knew that was possible?! But from the monthly check in emails to our countless in person meetings; Tom and Lisa were with us every step of the way. On our wedding day itself, Tom picked up my wife and brought her to the venue. He also drove my wife, me, and our photographers around after the ceremony in an old-fashioned car, to take photographs. We got married in February, so this was so helpful to get around Albany without freezing. Tom also knew all the best places to take wedding photos! My wife also mentioned that Tom was with her every step of the way before walking down the aisle. He eased her nerves and made sure she felt like a princess. While Tom attends to the bride the day of, Lisa is also preparing the bridal party as well as running food throughout the entire night! When Tom is done with the ceremony, he hops in the kitchen and cooks ALL the food for the wedding! Finally, at the end of the night, Tom and Lisa put you up at the Renaissance Hotel. We had a stunning view of Albany. Talk about service... Katie and I had such an incredible day. We truly could not be happier with our decision to have our special day at the State Room. Tom and Lisa helped with everything to complimentary tasting to monthly email reminders and fast replies to anything we needed on our wedding day. Tom was with me, the bride, the beginning of the day as we did first look and he held the train of my dress, vail, and anything I needed to make it so easy for me which made me feel so special. They made the planning so less stressful with their help but also with including most important items on the contract. (center pieces, cake, warehouse full of items) Moreover, they provided a list of other vendors such as photographer and videographer recommendations which we used. Tom and Lisa made the drop off and pick up of all our things so easy along with giving us a box of to go food and our wrapped top tier cake. We had such a beautiful day and everything ran so smoothly that we cannot be happier. Tom and Lisa, thank you so much! No detail went unnoticed, guests could not believe the amount of food that was provided, which everyone raved over. Throughout the whole process Tom & Lisa were prompt with their responses and provided suggestions and helpful tips which allowed us to feel more than comfortable through the entirety of the process. There was always an open line of communication between us and Tom or Lisa. Everything with The State Room was upfront and if we wanted to add or change anything it was an easy adjustment. When Tom says that it’s your day he means it. The day was 100% ours and we were able to bring our vision to life. We did not have to worry about anything because as soon as we dropped our wedding materials off they took care of everything from set up to clean up. The staff on the day of the wedding took care of all our guests with the utmost class. The food was absolutely amazing from the cocktail hour to the fun food table. Our guests had such an amazing time. They still talk about our wedding when we see them and want us to have a yearly anniversary party so we could all come back and enjoy The State Room. I would recommend The State Room to any couple looking for a venue that can give you everything you would possibly want. I couldn’t have imagined a better time.

The day of - Tom is with you every step of the way from driving you to your picture location, fluffing your dress, letting me use his keys on my train so it stayed put when the wind wouldn't cooperate, to making sure we were checked into our hotel that night and everything in-between. Lisa brought us upstairs after the ceremony to make sure Alec and I got some alone time before the party started and to make sure we ate! They were just wonderful every step of the way. Every single thing we ate was delicious and the food just kept coming! My wedding day was exactly as I envisioned it being thanks to The State Room. Almost every single guest said it was the best wedding they have ever attended!

r The State Room and said… let’s try one more time. We walked in and between the venue alone and the incredible humans we were acquainted with… We were sold. Our wedding day was on September 24th and it truly was something indescribable. It was a fairytale. From the second we booked, Tom and Lisa were there for us every step of the way. I was a SLACKER of a bride. It was overwhelming and too much at times. All of that would go away as soon as I’d talk to Lisa on the phone or my other half would go and talk to Tom. The food - words can’t even begin to explain. We had our beautiful tasting event at the venue and from that point on we told all of our guests “please come hungry… this isn’t your typical wedding meal.” People are still raving about the selection, presentation, and overall deliciousness of every single thing. (The mini Beef Wellingtons … let me tell you… we are still hearing about those!) The day wouldn’t have gone the way that it did without the support from Tom and Lisa. They did everything they could to make this the best day of our lives. You’re not talking to a car salesman when you enter this establishment. You’re talking to genuine, caring and incredible people that truly love what they do. The venue alone looks like a dream with the uplighting and ambiance. The service is top notch. I am so happy something in the universe led my husband and I here. Lastly— I laugh because I can’t tell you how many times people asked me… “who’s your caterer?” The VENUE is! Tom and Lisa are! Lisa is behind the scenes putting your dream wedding together for you while you’re getting ready. Tom HIMSELF (owner of the venue) comes and picks you up to bring you to where you are getting married. He then stands with you and fluffs your dress, gives you tissues, makes sure everything is as you can imagine. While he’s being this incredible, his side kick Lisa is putting the fairytale together at the venue. When the reception starts, Tom is now getting his team together in the kitchen to COOK for all of your guests. You heard me right. He went from tux, to chef outfit, back to tux after everyone ate, etc. Tom and Lisa both kept us in check the entire time and made sure we didn’t get sucked into missing opportunities. Lisa grabbed my hand and led me to the cake cutting because it seemed impossible to be able to take a second to do so. They both made sure we got night time photos. They both made sure Daniel and I got one on one time during cocktail hour. They made sure we ate. They packed up every single entree for us for leftovers (which we ate all week.) I could go on and on forever. These two made the best day of our lives an absolute dream. My gratitude will never be enough. The State Room will hold a place in our hearts forever. Everyone thought Tom and Lisa were family members because of how involved they were! Well, we were okay with that. Because they truly made us feel as so. But, no, they are not. They are just incredible at what they do and go above and beyond to make your special day the greatest day of your life! Thank you. We are still on cloud 9!
