We booked our wedding at The Summit very shortly after we got engaged. We planned and had our wedding in 10 months. At the beginning of the search for a venue that we could get married at and have the reception, I was feeling a little hopeless. Either it was too expensive, I didn't vibe with the employees, it wasn't right for a ceremony and a reception or it was too far for people to drive. We booked a meeting with Becky pretty quickly after seeing pictures of their venue. She responded quickly and was able to get us in. When we walked in there it was like we knew that it was for us. It was modern, big, open, and we loved the garage door feel on the mezzanine. We are a very laid back couple and wanted to keep things fun and very simple. Becky walked us through how things could be set up with what we were wanting, she walked us around and they had rooms for us to get ready upstairs, she was very open with the whole process and the price and walked us through everything, along with a printout. She told us the dates she had open still and she had one left in May and it was perfect for us!
Throughout the whole process Becky made it very easy and was very easy to get ahold of and talk to. Either through email or through text, I was always able to get ahold of her even for silly questions that I would think of. We enjoyed the monthly wedding tastings, it gave us a reason to go and enjoy a night out and to better get to know Becky. They have a basement FULL of any kind of decoration that you can think of. They have such a wide variety. Most of our decorations were from their collection, we only purchased a few decorations for the wedding. Plus, after the wedding we were able to donate what we wouldn't use again for future brides to use. It was nice knowing that someone else could use what we wouldn't use again.
During the rehearsal, Becky was on top of it and had everything run perfectly. We were able to decorate, run through the ceremony twice in under 3 hours. Her and her assistant were at our call and so willing and ready to help.
On the wedding day I arrived early and was able to get into my room to get ready, and let me tell you it was huge! It was so spacious and nice for us all to get ready. The guys were across the hall and their room was nice, as well. The other vendors (band and cake) were already there and setting up and let me tell you, I was totally blown away on how the room looked and how much it was right on my vision. Becky even talked to each vendor and coordinated everything with them prior to. As the time came Becky was there EVERY step of the way, she ran everything herself and had it run smoothly. They were so accommodating to my husband and I all night making sure we were fed, always had drinks if needed and to just check to make sure we were happy and there wasn't anything else we needed. At the end of the night I could not be more thankful and happy how everything turned out. You always hear of stories of things going wrong during the wedding. Not one thing went wrong or happened before or during our wedding. It went smoother than I could every have imagined and it was all thanks to Becky and her crew. The only thing that I wasn't the most pleased with was some of the young food and clean up crew were a little unmotivated and were heard complaining right out in the open and just standing around. But other than that, I could not have asked for a better wedding and planning process. It was so beautiful.
We are so thankful for all of the work that Becky and all of the staff at The Summit put into making our wedding day happen! We were originally supposed to get married in June of 2020, and we ended up having to change our date three times. Thankfully The Summit was accommodating and stuck with us through all of our date and location changes, we ended up using their off-site catering services. Once COVID hit, communication with Becky was challenging and not always timely; sometimes asking our coordinator to reach out or repeat emails were needed to get a response. Despite communication challenges her responses were always thorough and professional. On the day of, everything was perfect, the food was delicious, we had many compliments from our guests, and the staff was very attentive and on top of everything. Communication with Jen Ellis (our bartender) was stellar! We stocked our own bar and Jen helped us to personalize it and figure out appropriate quantities, we didn’t run out, and all of our guests were very satisfied and made sure to tell us. She worked above and beyond our expectations and was by far one of the hardest workers of the night. Overall we are very happy with the off-site services The Summit provided.
I would highly recommend The Summit to anyone planning a wedding (we used them in a slightly out of the ordinary way due to COVID). We originally booked the Summit as our wedding venue and due to COVID, decided we did not feel comfortable holding our reception indoors, as it seems most people are deciding to do. Before COVID, The Summit hosts monthly tastings to choose your food on the day, and it was like a mini date night every month for my husband and I to attend. Once COVID hit, we had already paid a significant amount in deposits to The Summit. When we decided not to host our reception there, we were fully expecting to lose that deposit. However, Becky was the most helpful and amazing person and offered to provide services off-site for us. We decided to do a tent reception outdoors and Becky provided servers, a bartender, linens, and lighting for our tent. These are all things we would have had to re-book and pay for. The servers they brought were helpful and professional, and our lighting and linens looked amazing. Becky was prompt and helpful in all of her communication throughout the past year and a half and even though we didn't get to host our reception in their amazing space, I would recommend their services again and again!
We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out at The Summit with Becky Kessler as our coordinator. When planning our wedding, we toured quite a few venues in the Toledo area and met with all of their wedding coordinators. Nowhere in Toledo has a coordinator that is as wonderful to work with as Becky, and we frankly cannot say enough about how thankful we are for her. She goes above and beyond consistently from your first introductory tour until the end of your wedding. Along the way in all of the stages of planning, Becky’s communication is excellent, and she will answer all of your questions both timely and thoroughly. We were very thorough planners with many requests and details to our wedding ceremony, yet she always figured out a way to accommodate these wishes and consistently went above and beyond to make our wedding dreams a reality. At the same time, she always knew when to offer advice and her expertise.
Besides the impressive and modern event space that is The Summit, one of our favorite things about this venue was the free monthly food tasting events. These were such excellent ways to taste a huge variety of foods, invite family and friends to get a sneak peak of our venue, ask Becky planning questions, and preview which linens we would like to choose for our wedding. Another thing we loved about The Summit is Becky’s basement of wedding decorations. Becky always is happy to let you look through her huge collections of centerpieces, glassware, and decorations and allows you to use whatever you would like for free on your wedding day. The best part is, Becky and her employees will save you the wedding day stress and set up any of these decorations for you exactly how you would like them.
Becky also has a lot of great business partners in planning your wedding to save you money and make your planning much easier. For example, your linens, lighting, DJ, and cake can all be arranged by Becky and included in a package. We highly recommend the Enchanted Evening package as it included our cake, the top shelf bar package, champagne for every table, and chair covers, all for an unbelievable price. Your money goes so far at The Summit. Also, Becky will arrange for an amazing group rate for your guests at the Park Inn across the street.
It has been over a month since our wedding, and our family and friends are still talking to us about how much they enjoyed it. They loved how beautiful our venue was decorated, how well the staff took care of them, and how smoothly everything went thanks to Becky’s calm and experienced coordination all day. Honestly, I'm so surprised they don't have more reviews. This place is also known as The Summit, and let me tell you it is a great place to throw your wedding/reception. We had a 50-person reception here, and we could not have asked for more. Their packages are well priced, and I can't even begin to say how much stress it saved by having the catering, bar, venue, and cake all be the same package. Seriously, this place it fantastic.
