The details meeting leading up to the big day was very helpful; Melanie and team laid everything out so my wife and I knew everything from coordinating vendors to timeline were handled. We went with the Tidewater Package so we had access to all spaces within the venue. The flow of the wedding was incredible and all of our guests were able to easily transition from ceremony -> cocktail hour -> reception by simply walking, including ramps for handicapped guests. The Gold Ballroom was used for the reception and is beautiful; the herringbone pattern for the wood floors are extremely classy. Back to the food - all of our guests were raving about it. It is truly incredible the consistency and flavors the kitchen could promptly pump out for 170+ guests. My wife wasn't able to eat much during the reception, and without us knowing, they boxed her meal and placed it within the fridge in our room...so awesome. Thank you Melanie & the Tidewater team for a fantastic weekend!

An entire team assembled before our eyes and kept everything on schedule and perfect. Our guests could not have been more impressed by everything and it was amazing to host our friends and family for the entire weekend at such a beautiful location. he tidewater house was beautiful for our rehearsal dinner and welcome party, and the perfect space for getting ready with my bridesmaids and family. The photos turned were beautiful, and the experience was even better. From the moment we arrived, we felt taken care of. Kim at the Tidewater House, anticipated our every need and jumped right in to hold a baby or help assemble a gift bag. Sara, who was part of the catering team was was behind the bar for every event, and made sure we were taken care of all night long, through the next morning at our farewell brunch. Melanie, Brandi, and Lauren made sure the whole weekend went smoothly, and went above and beyond for us. It was amazing how on top of the schedule and timing for they day they were, and it really allowed me to sit back and live in the moment to enjoy our big day! Our guests couldn’t have been happier with the food, atmosphere, and accommodations. Kari went above and beyond for us during the reception, and there were so many small touches that were unexpected and fabulous, from making sure we got to try our hors d'oeuvres from the cocktail hour at our sweetheart table to sending up cake and other goodies to our honeymoon suite! The food was incredible, and Chef Daniel was a blast to chat with. We really hope someone we know gets married here soon so we can attend as guests!!

IFUL, well maintain and a great blank slate without lacking character. The wood tables are beautiful, and the mantle made a great centerpiece for the night. I loved the bar, the bathrooms were gorgeous. It was just like great. I cannot stop talking about the food. The appetizers were sooo good (please get the brie and pear thingy), drinks were delicious and they had a ton of options, and dinner was soooo amazing. Get the garlic mashed potatoes. We had chicken/crab cakes and then steak/shrimp, and both are outstanding. We loved it all! During planning, Melanie was an absolute GODSEND. I think my ending email count with her in the thread was 70 emails over 10 months. She answered every question I had by the next day, if not like within the hour. She was super helpful and open to all of our ideas. The planning meeting a few months out was great to just talk it all out, and she was so hands on through it all. Day of, Lauren was an ANGEL. We were hit with rainy weather, and she was there by my side with a genius plan to save the day. She coordinated all the moving parts to basically completely change the location of my ceremony, and nothing was missed. She was there throughout the whole evening to assist, and I am forever grateful to her. Brandy was also a huge part of the moving parts of our day. She was holding (and even bustling) my dress, coordinating vans for my vendors and my husband and I, and kept checking in during dinner to make sure all was well. I missed some of the other names, but our reception team was great, especially the person who was our like personal attendant. Everyone was an absolute pleasure, and I didnt hear of any issues from anyone- only an abundance of praise. Overall, my wedding was an absolute success and I cannot imagine our night at any other venue.

onvenience. Melanie Bennett and the staff here are absolutely outstanding. They made every step of the planning process easy and stress free. They’ll provide recommendations if you need them but will also work to make your unique visions become reality. Their day-of coordination has got to be unmatched by others in the industry. We did not have to worry about managing any of the vendors or their services as the Tidewater staff took care of it all. Our guest list was about 110 but I could easily see how the Tidewater could perfectly accommodate a wedding for any size. The food is really incredible. We had more than two dozen guests tell us it was “the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding”. I personally can say their crab cakes are the best you’re gonna get on the Eastern shore and that’s saying a lot. So if you want to add that Maryland flavor, definitely put the crab cakes on your menu. If you want to impress your guests’ tastebuds, choose the Tidewater Inn. I would highly recommend the Tidewater Inn for any couple that wants a wedding venue where your ceremony, reception and hotels are all in one, gorgeous, location. The rooms in the hotel are also really nice. We had a perfect wedding day, for what I could tell was a fair price. There was nothing the Tidewater provided that I thought was overly expensive. Our wedding was a dream come true, and I know that if you choose the Tidewater Inn, yours will be too.

ter Inn (TWI) has a open lobby with spiral staircase and huge fireplace, two different event rooms based on your capacity needs (both with large outdoor spaces attached) and a really cool restaurant/bar right off the lobby (Hunter’s Tavern). Priced VERY competitively as compared to other venues I looked at, this space was at the top of my list. I started to love the idea of all the guests staying on site together over the weekend, really making it feel like a celebration that lasted days versus just a few hours. The pricing also included a coordinator up to the wedding and on the day of, which was a huge plus for me when I hadn’t had that with the original venue. I went to see it in person, and the smaller room (Crystal Ballroom) really spoke to me, because the outdoor area that comes with it is a beautiful courtyard garden with lots of real greenery, which I loved. The inside of that ballroom was also beautiful - dark wooden floors and gorgeous chandeliers, floor to ceiling doors/windows looking out to the dreamy courtyard. Having both indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and cocktail hour was also a huge plus for me, given that July weather in Maryland can be so variable. We moved forward with our new venue with excitement - for the first time in about a year we started to think this might actually happen! Our wedding weekend finally arrived, and Melanie was on site for set up starting in the morning. She worked with all the vendors who dropped items off or were needing to set up. I was upstairs with my ladies getting ready in the very spacious and convenient Chesapeake Room, located on the third floor of TWI and containing multiple high top tables, couches and chairs which was the perfect space for all 10 of us to hang out all day as we got our H/MU done. I peeked downstairs a few times throughout the morning/early afternoon and every time I did I could see Melanie had everything fully under control and was executing the set up exactly as I had wanted! I felt comfortable just relaxing back upstairs, without any concern or worry. 
Brandy (another event coordinator at TWI) and Melanie were both present during the event itself, working together to make sure everything happened at the right times, and went smoothly. I worried about nothing and had a blast. The night flew by and to me, it felt like everything literally went perfectly! I would not change a thing about our wedding night. Brandy & Melanie were such a big part of everything going so well. Their efforts and kindness allowed me to step back from my typical role of managing things and really enjoy myself in the moment. The morning of, weather looked like it was going to behave so I made a call around noon to do the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. Everything was perfect and magical, and it was great that Melanie allowed me to take up to that point to decide! Another wonderful benefit was that many of our guests decided to stay a few extra nights to relax and enjoy the town. People were running into each other in Hunter’s Tavern for breakfast, and chatting in the hallways. We really got to see our loved ones so much with everyone staying at the Inn. Cannot recommend The Tidewater Inn enough - we had a wonderful experience with Melanie & Brandy, and loved the space itself/the whole town!

how sad I am that it is over. Since the moment we met Melanie, Brandy, Sara, Walter, and the Tidewater Inn staff they became family. We are a COVID couple that had to postpone twice, and they truly held our hand and had our backs the entire process. They made postponing and handling an unprecedented event easy and effortless for us. While other brides scrambled and stressed, I had not one worry in the world. In fact, it was only excitement and positivity!!! When we finally got to our wedding day it was simply magical & felt like a dream. The staff accommodated our guests every need to the highest extent, including their hotel stay. THE FOOD - let me just tell you this will be the best dinner of your life. They mastered the Eastern Shore staples to give our family the fullest experience. Everyone can’t wait to go back and have it again at Hunters Tavern!! The venue itself is breathtaking. All our guests told us they’ve never seen such a unique setup, and truly enjoyed the signature drinks, bars/ballroom/tent. We quite literally danced the night away, and everyone keeps telling me it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I could write a book on this very special venue and group of people. But all I will say is read no further and book The Tidewater Inn for your wedding. It will be the best decision you make. They are the hands down the best in the game on the Eastern Shore, and you will have the most incredible day ever with all the fun and no worries. Additionally and more importantly, you will have friends for life and a place to return & continue to make memories with your family once the party is over.

to completely shift venues, the Tidewater (specifically Melanie B.) were like a breath of fresh air. If I could describe the day the best way I could describe it is "seamless". I never felt any stress the day of the wedding because everything was so easily taken care of by the event staff. My guests, family, and friends are still commenting on how AMAZING the food was. honest assessment of our experience with the Tidewater Inn. As one would expect, it was exceedingly difficult for couples and venues alike to navigate the complexities that the wedding industry faced during this pandemic - and in full disclosure that is absolutely coloring my review in some ways. In general, I very much think that the Tidewater Inn is an extraordinary place to get married. The food is fantastic, and the setting is a truly remarkable blend of historic charm and that oft-sought after “small town feel”. I attribute a major part of our negative experience to the stress that the staff were obviously feeling in balancing the enforcement of COVID19 precautions while still maintaining the hospitality that they are well known for. The result, unfortunately, was a feeling that we were guests that had to be tolerated, but not necessarily welcomed. I would not say that my spouse and I felt the warm glow of being a bride and groom (and then newlyweds) at the Tidewater – in fact, we often felt like the staff were quite loveless—and that made us very sad. The planning and preparations leading up to the wedding had gone so well that it left us feeling confused and uncertain when the wedding weekend arrived in such disharmony. I had made plans to meet the wedding coordinator at the venue when we arrived the Thursday prior to the wedding in order to touch base and drop off décor for the event—she was not there when we arrived and not even on site that day, unbeknownst to me. We did not see or hear from her until the ceremony rehearsal on Friday evening. I felt abandoned – maybe I didn’t have any right to, but I did. Additionally, we (bridal party, family, guests) patronized the hotel tavern on multiple occasions (wonderful spot). Our guests were admittedly non-judicious with obeying the face covering rules while standing at the bar tables, but not egregiously so. The way that the staff reprimanded those who transgressed was not respectful nor was it forgiving. I felt that they were contemptuous. One staff member in particular at the tavern was unbelievably discourteous, as was the male bartender. There is a right way and a wrong way to correct behavior (which I acknowledge should not have been necessary but alas, to err is human) and this was the wrong way. I understand that we made a conscious decision to proceed with a wedding during a time in our country that is nothing less than tumultuous, but they were open for business. There were SO many positives – the Terrasse spa, ceremony setting, Brandy Milligan, the pet friendly rooms, the food, overall ambiance – and I do not wish for the negatives to renounce those. I write this review having spent a great deal of time reflecting upon our experience and trying to set emotion aside – perhaps I still failed on that account. Nothing has been written carelessly or without thought to the people that it will reach. We left our wedding weekend having had an absolutely amazing time with our family and friends, but also with a poor perception of the Tidewater Inn, which we had loved so much before.

C (where we live), but kept striking out. I had previously stayed at the Tidewater Inn with family, and on their suggestion we decided to check them out as a wedding venue. THE SEARCH WAS OVER. Melanie, Sara, Stephanie and the entire team are the consummate wedding professionals, and we were immediately sold on the beauty of the hotel as well as their amazing service. Seriously, they handled EVERYTHING and were so incredibly communicative throughout the entire planning process. Melanie was asking me questions I hadn’t even thought of yet; it made everything so incredibly easy when you had a team of folks behind you who do this almost every weekend. We loved being able to host all wedding related events at the Tidewater, as well as having our friends and family stay literally at the wedding venue. The food and wine were incredible, I’m still getting compliments and rave reviews from friends and family! The entire day went so smoothly, I didn’t have to do anything on the day of aside from get married and enjoy time with my new husband and all our loved ones - Melanie and co handled it all. You truly get the most amazing wedding experience at the Tidewater Inn. We can’t wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary!

wn Easton. I loved that the second our guests parked their cars - they could walk everywhere. No need for the hassle of buses and transportation that takes time away from the actual event! All of our guests stayed there, our ceremony was there, the cocktail hour, and the reception. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Scossa which is a 3 minute walk away, our welcome drinks were next door at Washington Street Pub and our after party next door to that at Doc's. The walkability made our guests feel like they could relax and really enjoy what a charming town Easton is. Now to the Tidewater specifically - Melanie is FABULOUS. She is so nice and so ON it when it came to everything about our wedding. The entire team is so professional and you can tell they really care about your wedding and also do a lot of them and know what they're doing. We had so many of our guests tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been too and their top highlights were how beautiful the venue was and how DELICIOUS the food and drinks were. You could literally cut the filet mignon with a spoon and the crabcakes on top were the best on the Eastern Shore. Not to mention my absolute favorite part of the entire process was the day they invite you to to taste all of their appetizers, dinners, desserts, and drinks. I honestly wish I could do that day all over again. Melanie was there when small emergencies happened day-of like the bustle of my dress breaking and was on it to help fix it right away! I would highly highly highly recommend the Tidewater Inn to any bride looking for the PERFECT Eastern Shore wedding that makes all logistics easy. Thank you guys so much for everything! We can't wait to come back for a fun weekend at the Tidewater!

She was incredibly quick at responding to emails, was so helpful at walking us through every detail of the day to make it exactly as we wanted it and helped us organize everything and everyone. Sara was also incredible. She handled last minute issues like a pro (like how the guys suddenly needed 20 burgers for lunch on our wedding day) and always made us feel like a priority. Brandy was so helpful with creating our seating chart and envisioning our wedding layout. She was so accommodating to our guests who had certain food allergies and wanted to make sure they enjoyed their meals. On our wedding day, each member of the wedding team worked so hard to make sure everything went incredibly smooth and according to plan. They worked behind the scenes to clean up the entire event, bring our cards to our room, and box up all our decorations and flowers. As I look back at wedding pictures, I realize that they even repurposed some of our decorations from the cocktail hour space to the reception space. It goes to show how many little details they took care of that I never noticed or thought about. They made sure the flowers showed up, the cupcakes were delivered and the band was set up as they needed to be. Each member of the wedding team was flat out UNBELIEVABLE! Even down to the bell hops and the kitchen staff, every worker was so kind and did everything they could to make us feel special. Even more than the staff, our guests raved about the food and said the food was “the best wedding food they’ve ever had!” One of our favorite aspects of having our wedding at the Tidewater was that almost everyone was able to stay in the hotel. No need to coordinate buses to get everyone around town, everything you need is right there! We truly appreciate everything the Tidewater did to make our wedding so perfect.

They are professionals at orchestrating the perfect wedding. Truly looking back on my wedding, there is not a single thing I would change. Working with the Tidewater was seamless in every way. Not only is the wedding coordinator team absolutely phenomenal, but the venue itself is breathtaking. All of our guests are still talking about how beautiful the Tidewater is. The guests enjoyed walking around downtown Easton and enjoying some local favorites! In conjunction, the Tidewater was able to accommodate all of our guests so it was so special that all of our guests could stay at the Tidewater. I also want to note that the staff at the Tidewater is the best I have ever seen at a wedding venue. They are professionals; they are efficient, friendly, and willing to do anything to make your day perfect. We had 185 guests and all of our guests received their food quickly and are still raving about how delicious the food was! Words cannot express how perfect this venue is. We will be recommending the Tidewater to all of our friends and family. We cannot wait to go back and visit very soon!

As just one small example, we got married in July and expected ridiculous heat and humidity, but we ended up with an autumn-like day. Four hours before our ceremony, the staff encouraged us to move our ceremony outside to their courtyard and take advantage of the beautiful day and scenery. We did and we couldn't be happier they suggested we switch it up. Not only is their team amazing, but every staff member at the Tidewater Inn made us feel like we were at home that weekend. We did not want to leave! Staff and service aside - the hotel and its venues are gorgeous and make the whole event feel easy but special. The food was the best wedding food we've ever had, and our guests all said the same. There is a salon in the hotel which makes it easy for the bridal party to get ready on-site and have a relaxing day. Throw in the perfect downtown Easton location, where you and all your guests can walk everywhere, to rehearsal dinner to after party to brunch, it was truly the most fun and relaxing weekend ever. If you are searching for a classy but fun Eastern Shore venue, Tidewater Inn is your perfect spot!!!

The day/night of, they took care of absolutely everything, even refilling my husband's drink when he wasn't looking! Another amazing feature? The food! My guests are still raving about the crab cakes and filet. It's safe to say that we were able to have the wedding of our dreams thanks to the Tidewater!

Tidewater was already booked on our original wedding date (a Saturday in September), but when we learned that Tidewater had availability on the Friday of that same weekend, we made the decision to book Tidewater and worked closely with the wedding planning team to catch-up on the planning process under a tight timeline. In the end, we had our ceremony in the Garden Courtyard, cocktail hour in the Gold Ballroom Garden (the indoor-outdoor space under a sail cloth tent), and reception in the Gold Ballroom - and it truly was an actual DREAM. The property itself is extremely well maintained - the hotel rooms are clean and updated following a recent renovation, the grounds have a ton of gorgeous greenery making it perfect for outdoor pictures, and the event spaces has a number of touches that add a ton of character to the overall look. Melanie, Sara and Brandy did an UNBELIEVABLE job. They were incredibly organized during every step of the planning process and on our actual wedding day. They were clear and pleasant when directing the bridal party from location to location, allowing us to stay perfectly on schedule without making us feel rushed at any time. They also did a fantastic job setting up the room and making it look absolutely beautiful - we provided an overwhelming amount of decor for them to put on display, and they ensured that everything looked gorgeous in the end. On top of that, the food was FANTASTIC. We had dozens of guests approach us during both the cocktail hour and dinner ranting and raving about how unbelievable the food was. The food was obviously delicious at our tasting, but we had no clue that it would be equally as amazing with the chef making those same selections for over 170 of our guests. Both the bar and dinner staff were also excellent. We had so many guests share how fantastic the service was, which can truly make or break a guest experience. Overall, the TWI was the perfect venue for our wedding day, and the staff made it an exceptional experience for us, along with all of our guests.

I had my ceremony at the Tidewater in the back garden, the reception in the gold room and dancing in the gold room tent. Everything from the decorations that my day of coordinators setup, to food that was served was just amazing. If you are looking for a wedding venue please look at the Tidewater. If I had to do it all over again I would choose this place again, it was simply amazing!

don't know why everyone doesn't get married there! My fiance and I absolutely fell in love with it as soon as we saw it - it's just beautiful and the town of Easton is lovely. We wanted a "local destination" type of wedding, where it would feel like a mini vacation for our guests, and that's exactly what we got. We had the rehearsal dinner there, the reception, and almost all of our guests stayed there. Things could not have gone more smoothly, from the early stages of planning through the last day of the wedding weekend - Melanie, Lauren, Sarah, and the rest of the staff there are just wonderful (I can't tell you how many of our guests commented on the wonderful level of service they received). Wedding planning was not my favorite thing! But Melanie made it as pain-free as possible for me. She always seems to maintain a cool and calm demeanor, which is super helpful, especially the day of. Lastly, the food was tremendous. I never rave about wedding food (so hard to get it right for so many people), but they nailed it for the rehearsal dinner and the reception. Like I said before, I don't know why everyone doesn't get married at the Tidewater :)

THE BELLMAN ARE THERE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR BAGS (HARRY WAS A GREAT GUY), AND THE FRONT DESK MANAGER (WALTER) ALWAYS HAS A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND IS JUST AS GENUINE AS YOU CAN GET. THE FRONT DESK STAFF (DONNA, NICOLE, THOMAS) WERE THERE TO GREET OUR GUESTS AS THEY ARRIVED AND HANDED OUT OUR GIFT BAGS AND WEDDING BROCHURES. HUNTERS TAVERN HAS GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE – NOTABLY, RILEY (SERVER/HOST), DELL (THE BARTENDER) AND THE WONDERFUL KITCHEN STAFF MADE SURE OUR GUESTS WERE TAKEN CARE OF ALL WEEKEND LONG. OUR WEDDING RECEPTION WAS EVERYTHING WE COULD HAVE HOPED FOR AND MORE. CHEF PAUL AND CHEF DAVID EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS – OUR MENU WAS INCREDIBLE AND TOTALLY OUT OF THE BOX (FLAT IRON STEAK, GRILLED CHICKEN, PORABELLO MUSHROOM AND CRAB CAKE SLIDER ASSORTMENT, MACARONI AND CHEESE BAR, OUTSTANDING SALAD AND ROASTED VEGETABLES) – OUR GUESTS COMMENTED THAT THIS WAS THE BEST FOOD THEY HAVE EVER HAD A WEDDING AND ARE STILL RAVING ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL IT WAS! THE CRAB CAKES ARE A DEFINITE MUST TRY! KATHY (OUR BANQUET CAPTAIN) MADE SURE THAT WE ATE AND THAT OUR GUESTS ENJOYED THE BUFFET AND THE ENTIRE EVENING. MOST OF ALL, MELANIE BENNET (OUR WEDDING MENTOR), MADE SURE EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY. ALTHOUGH MELANIE’S OFFICAL TITLE IS SOCIAL EVENTS SALES MANAGER, SHE IS SO MUCH MORE! BECAUSE OF MELANIE HARD WORK AND GUIDANCE, OUR WEDDING RECEPTION WENT OFF WITHOUT AN OUNCE OF TROUBLE. ORIGINALLY, WE HAD CHOSEN A DIFFERENT RECEPTION VENUE, BUT THE DAY WE MET MELANIE WE KNEW THE TIDEWATER INN WAS THE PLACE FOR US. MELANIE NEVER PUSHED US TO CHANGE VENUES, INSTEAD SHE SHOWED US HER TRUE COLORS BY WELCOMING US, MAKING US FEEL COMFORTABLE WHILE WE STAYED AT THE HOTEL, AND OFFERING RECOMMENDATIONS AND RESOURCES AS WE BEGAN OUR WEDDING PLANNING. MELANIE IS ONE OF A KIND. WORDS CANNOT FULLY EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL WE ARE TO THE TIDEWATER INN TEAM – THEY ARE FIRST-RATE AND WILL FOREVER HOLD A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS FOR MAKING OUR SPECIAL DAY TRULY UNIQUE. r was great and the staff was amazing and very competent and professional. They helped our wedding be almost seamless. The food is absolutely delicious as well. It has been three weeks since the wedding, and I am still getting comments from friends and family about how beautiful the wedding was and how delicious the food was. There are so many great places for pictures. Our photographer had so many options and got tons of great shots. Would definitely recommend this amazing place!

. My wedding coordinator Melanie worked with me to make sure every detail was perfect. I did not have to worry about a thing. My guests were blown away by the delicious food. I received so many compliments, including "this is the best wedding I've ever been to!" The Tidewater is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend this venue!
