The University Club

Where to even start with this, we simply adored the University club. Molly was a joy to work with, and made everything so easy. The venue has old world character, which is hard to find in a wedding venue. We had both ceremony and reception here, the room was flipped during a cocktail hour, where there is an enjoyable large lounge for your guests. The terrace overlooking the capital was an added plus, and considering we were getting married the end of October, we didn't think we would be able to utilize it. Also, the price. For a venue downtown Denver, this is simply one of the most affordable places you can find. We had a tight budget and had no problems sticking to it. Not to mention, not dealing with caterers was an added perk, and the food was great! It was so nice to have real glass stemware and beautiful finishes included with the value. Cannot rave enough about this place, if you are looking for someplace unique to get married, not just some commercial ballroom, look no further!!!! Seriously hidden gem!!

We highly recommend the University Club as it is an exceptional wedding reception venue! Molly and the event team were extremely helpful and engaged in all of our planning. They took us through selecting all of the key details in a seamless fashion, and they were very timely in communication via phone and email. We have received many compliments on the venue and the quality of the food. Their system for selecting beer, wine, partially hosted or fully hosted bar, etc. allowed us to customize our bar offerings within our budget. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything just the way we wanted. For example, the grandfather of the groom only drinks Coors Original, and only from the can. At our request, Molly and her team gladly made sure that a special 6 pack was available just for him! Overall, the club space is very versatile, and we loved the options this space allowed. We elected the option to get dressed/prep at the club before our ceremony at a near by church, so we utilized the President's Room (spacious and perfect for the girls) and the Library (ideal for the guys). For the reception, we had a cocktail hour using the main bar, the Reading Room, and the terrace. The spaces worked very well, and the setup was perfect with a second bar station in one corner and the grand piano/pianist in the other. The flow of various spaces and the bar/cake stations up in the Reading Room worked very well. For our dinner and dancing, the College Room backdrop was truly beautiful! We even had access to the balcony for our photographer to take some stunning birds-eye-view photos. The manager day of, Van, made sure things went very smoothly. He was such a pleasure to work with from visiting to see the space decorated for another event, to the tasting, to the day of our event. Everything went so smoothly for our wedding! We loved the location and character of the building. The decor was awesome! We did not have to do a lot of decorating which was great. We liked that there was no building fee, just a food and beverage minimum. The food was great as well as the service. Molly was a joy to work with. She made sure to email us updates and got back to us right away with any questions. Thanks again!!

Our guests were very impressed with this venue and with the food (when you use this venue, you must use their catering - no regrets!) It is formal, yet very warm and cozy with dark wood everywhere. Molly, the event coordinator, was always very responsive and accommodating. She helped me clarify some things I just couldn't get into my head on a number of occasions. Our reception went very smoothly. There was one instance where the employee we were dealing with wasn't really sure what was going on, but she quickly asked someone else and we got it figured out. The wait staff were efficient and friendly. The food was excellent! This was our biggest priority. I can't tell you how many weddings we've been to where the food leaves a lot to be desired. Not here! Our total for 100 guests was just over $5000 for food and wine/champagne service during dinner We had a cash bar for other drinks. Most other downtown vendors I researched (including hotels) charged to rent the space in addition to catering. Overall, we were thrilled with the venue and the staff!

The venue is beautiful, totally reasonable in price, and the service is spectacular. Add in good food and drinks, and it was perfect.

Molly helped us every step of the way. Her email reminders and deadlines allowed us to stay on track without being overwhelmed by the planning process. The venue was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the drinks were spot on. DEFINITELY recommend this place if you are looking for a smaller, more intimate, yet social event.

Really cool place (oak walls, cozy fireplaces, stained glass windows, and lots of ambiance) and everything was included including a wedding coordinator for the day of, setup of all of our decorations, tables, chairs, place settings, candles to decorate, and cleanup afterwards. Our coordinator, Molly, was very organized, knew her stuff, and was super helpful. She wasn't there the night of since she was there to set up but the guy that was there for the event knew what he was doing and everything went smoothly. You are required to use their chef for the food, but the food was amazing and there were plenty of options. You also get the whole place for the night and it worked out great because there were lots of places for guests to hang out beyond just a ballroom- terrace, full bar with bartender, sitting room, and the ballroom. Our guests loved the space and it made our wedding a great event.

We could not have been more pleased with the University Club from beginning to end. Molly is so helpful and easy to work with, and the night went flawlessly. Highly recommend this space!

This venue was spectacular! Molly (the event coordinator) was amazing and so organized, she made the planning process seamless. The staff was great the day of! Only downside was no credit cards were accepted at the bar day of the wedding but that was ok. The room was beautiful, food was great... it was absolutely perfect!!!

I choose this venue because its a beautiful old house/club with tons of charm built in. The director was great and very organized. I was able to do the ceremony and reception there which was so easy, we had pretty much the whole club to ourselves so my guests had plenty of space between the Main great room, the ball room, the renovated bar, and our bride and grooms rooms. The food was perfect, the bar tender was fantastic, and the staff took care of everything. They have several options for every budget,and their drinks prices are very resonable. I am just so thrilled with my choice!

The setting was very romantic and picturesque. It was the old romantic feeling I was looking for.;Alcohol adds up fast!

It is an older building with rich wood and great character. We had access to three bars and the food was fabulous!;The cost of alcohol creeps up on you. You can't bring it in they provide it.

The formalness of the venue stained glass dark woods leather fireplace.;check that no other activity was going on in downtown Denver that would use the 'free' parking provided by the University Club
