The Venue in Leawood

We worked with Elizabeth to plan our January 2024 wedding reception and it was beautiful. She was incredibly organized. The venue was all-inclusive- the rate she gave us included all the tables, chairs, centerpieces, food, alcohol, etc- things I would have normally had to piece together at a venue. (A life-saver for an out-of-town bride!) We had a food tasting included that was about 4 months in advance. My only feedback is that they weren't terribly quick on replying to my emails until we got right up to the event. We got lots of compliments on how beautiful the space was and the staff were incredible!

I had the most beautiful wedding experience here! The venue is beautiful. The bridal suite is very spacious. The food and drinks are amazing! The two owners really put the effort into making it the best day ever. They met with me and my husband multiple times to finalize the plans before the big day. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else!

Don't do it. Food is gross. The place is meh. If you can afford an extra $5,000 find a memorable place.

We held our daughter’s wedding reception here. It was wonderful! The food was delicious and we had so many compliments on it. The Venue is gorgeous and they even had floral arrangements and pieces to choose for the tables. After my daughter picked the florals and greenery she wanted, they arranged everything to her satisfaction and took a picture to recreate it on her wedding day. They had cylinders for candles, lanterns and all kinds of decorations. There is also a beautiful patio with a fireplace. They have a wall with a sophisticated design that lights up. They used the wedding colors for light and it was perfect. When we went to check everything the day before, it was PERFECT! We didn’t have to do anything! Elizabeth was great to work with and all the servers we very attentive. I would give it 10 stars if it was possible.

We had a great experience working with The Venue in Leawood and will utilize them again. They were very organized, encouraging, and knowledgeable. They stayed on budget and many helpful suggestions that we implemented to make the evening less stressful. During the even, they were approachable and kept us on task.

Cannot recommend The Venue in Leawood enough! Julian, Elizabeth, and team made wedding planning so stress-free. The catering, bar, and decor were taken care of in house and the venue itself is beautiful. All of our guests gave the best compliments for the food - it was amazing! The staff at the venue and especially Julian made our wedding reception perfect!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Venue in Leawood and it was phenomenal. Everyone said how the food was literally the best food they've ever had at a wedding and everything is made from scratch! The price was very reasonable and the amount of care and attention to detail is unmatched. I highly recommend looking at this location for any event your considering.

1000000% recommend this venue as a place to start your forever. My husband and I had 90 days to plan our wedding and this place was an absolute DREAM. When we first walked in we knew it was our venue and then Julian made it a solid yes after talking to him the first time. He was so helpful and everything was so easy for us. Not only did we only have 90 days to pull this off I was also 33 weeks pregnant for the big day and they took care of EVERYTHING. the decor, food, our guests, it was just an absolute dream. I didn't have to life a single finger on my big day and got to enjoy every minute of it. I am so happy we picked this venue and put our big day in their hands. We have been told so many times by our guests how beautiful and wonderful their food was. Not only that but Elizabeth was also an absolute favorite to work with. She hand made all of our greenery and made the entire venue gorgeous. I could go on forever about how much we loved this place. 100000000/100 recommend.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about the experience we had with Julian and Elizabeth at The Venue in Leawood. From our very first meeting with Julian, we knew that The Venue was where we wanted to host our daughter’s wedding. My daughter and her fiancé were also in agreement. They laid out the timeline of what needed to be done, and when it needed to be done and then told me again and again when I asked even though I had it in writing but I was constantly double checking and they never got frustrated with my questions. I imagine from their combined experience they understood my worries and often times answered questions before we even asked. We hired Elizabeth from The Venue to be our day-of coordinator. Elizabeth’s attention to detail was amazing. She listened to what my daughter wanted - offered suggestions when we were unsure of something but never pressured us into anything we didn’t want. Julian worked with my daughter and her fiancé to create the dinner of their dreams. As well as a signature cocktail that was an absolute hit with our wedding guests - it was some type of bourbon peach tea. The dinner consisted of a salad, brisket, pesto chicken, cheesy potatoes, vegetable medley, etc. I can’t even express the number of compliments we received from our guests regarding how excellent the food was, “the brisket and chicken were moist and the delicious..” “..those cheesy potatoes - sooo good…” “…if this was a restaurant, I would eat here everyday..” on and on. Even two weeks out I’m still receiving messages from people regarding the food. Additionally, the staff operated like a five-star restaurant, tables were cleared seamlessly and the tables never looked messy or unattended. We also received tons of positive feedback on The Venue itself. Our guests liked the smooth transition from the ceremony room straight to cocktail hour in the reception area. No need to wait for the staff to flip the room it was ready to go immediately following the ceremony. Our photographer found great spots to take bridal party photos outside in the greenery and the bar area. Th wedding was carried out beautifully, everything went according to plan. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner there in one of the smaller rooms for about 30 people. The menu for that was an Italian feast, which was also carried out as seamlessly as the wedding day. The Venue in Leawood - truly a hidden gem.

Where to begin…if you are looking for an incredible experience, choose The Venue in Leawood. Julian and Elizabeth are fantastic to work with. Our wedding day exceeded our wildest dreams. We had our wedding at The Venue last night. It was absolutely amazing! From the moment we booked with Julian and staff we have had exceptional service. The space is so beautiful. We had our ceremony and reception and used both spaces. The staff took care of everything we needed and didn't know we needed. All the guests raved about the fabulous food and the event space. We had the best experience booking The Venue in Leawood for our wedding! We had both the ceremony and reception held here - everything was smooth and seamless. Even with a large guest count, they operate very efficiently so that we were on track with our timeline all day. They were very accommodating to our requests and made it clear that they want to take us much stress off our plates as possible. They went above and beyond! We received so many complements from our guests about how gorgeous our wedding venue was and that the food was DELICIOUS. It was a pleasure working with Julian and Elizabeth!

The Venue in Leawood was simply AMAZING! We worked with Julian to plan our wedding reception, and he was so personable and fun to work with! He made sure we were taken care of every step of the way through our 18 months of wedding planning. He offered his expert advice while also listening to what we wanted. I can't recommend this venue enough! Julian and Elizabeth go above and beyond any expectations of customer service you think you have. They treat you like family from the moment you walk in, and they really work hard to make your dream scenario come true. We already are planning 3 or 4 events that we will go back to them for. Also, the food was the best wedding food we've ever had, and our guests all agreed and were vocal about it. Highly recommend doing a late nite snack, it was a hit!

Highly recommend this place! My husband and I booked this place in 2019, then Covid-19 hit and our July 2020 wedding got postponed. The owners of this venue worked with us the entire time up to our Reception day in July 2021! They stayed in contact, made changes where necessary and were absolutely wonderful to work with. We had gotten the food and drink package (amazing!) and made use of the dressing room (which was very well lit and roomy). The owner had food options for my guests who had dietary restrictions as well. There was so much room for all 100+ of my guests and tons of room to dance! They provided 90% of the décor (which had many options to choose from) and I only had to bring some candles, cake cutting knife and champagne glasses (and whatever else we wanted specifically)! We got the place at 10am to when the party was over! They also helped clean up and I only had to worry about cleaning up the dressing room. They even helped me gather my décor and gifts. My husband and I snuck out to take some night time outdoor photos and the outdoor space made the prefect background. My husband and I couldn't have picked a better place to hold our reception at. I'd give this place more than 5 stars if I could.

Working with the Venue made our wedding weekend so easy! Yes, I said weekend- not only did Julian and his team do such a wonderful job with our ceremony and reception but they catered our rehearsal dinner AND hosted the best day after brunch. All of our guests were in awe with how beautiful the venue was, how amazing the food and beverages were, and ultimately everyone had so much fun. When it came to planning, Julian made sure it was everything we could possibly want. He was very thorough with every detail at each meeting and was always so easy to contact with any questions or comments that popped up. Him and his team were very attentive during the wedding, helping the flow of the entire night move so smoothly that we could focus on enjoying our wedding. Truly so grateful we chose such great people to work with!

Julian and Elizabeth are amazing! They had everything prepared exactly as we were hoping for, and are the most accommodating venue you could ask for. Elizabeth made sure that everything was in its place and the space looked flawless, while Julian made our delicious wedding feast that we could not get enough of. Our wedding, which was on the Fourth of July, could not have been better than it was, and we could not ask for as gracious of hosts as the two were or better food. My husband and I had the absolute best day ever! When we first walked in we couldn’t believe the beauty. The entire process was incredibly seamless and couldn’t have asked for things to turn out better. We got multiple compliments on the incredible food and drinks that were served. Julian and Elizabeth were so wonderful to work with and provided exactly what we asked for. They made our dreams come true and more. It was the perfect spot for us. Julian and Elizabeth were amazing to work with throughout the entire process of planning our wedding. They did everything they could to accommodate us even when we had to change our date repeatedly due to the pandemic. Everything was beautiful! The patio was amazing! Julian and The Venue did a fantastic job! They really went above and beyond for us, which was especially helpful when the rest of the world was chaotic. Julian is the type who is very matter-of-fact and will do what he can to make your day special. If you have questions, just ask. He will work with you to see what can be done - and done safely. The space was lovely – plenty of room for all our guests to spread out. It was also nice that there was a separate bridal room where we could keep our things and have a private bathroom. The thing we heard most about from our guests was how amazing the food was. The wait staff also did a great job of keeping plates cleared, and all the employees made it so that the evening was stress-free. Overall, I highly recommend The Venue!

I called to see about pricing and what it says on the website is not what they actually charge. They are more expensive then the website says. The 750$ that includes a bunch of stuff is really over 8k. And when I called him out on that he basically said “ Oh well”

I can't say enough about Julian, Elizabeth, and The Venue. We started planning my daughter's wedding a year ago. Through all of the crazy unknowns of restrictions and changes that 2020 brought us, The Venue team stuck with us, reassured us, and worked with us as we nvaigated through it all. They were responsive throughout the process, attentive to every detail, and when the night came they did an amazing job. I never once had to worry about managing a single aspect of the flow of the evening, and the food was incredible! We used The Venue for both the rehersal dinner and the reception and I could not be happier in this decision. The space and the team were perfect for us. I would highly recommend them.

They are extremely organized and have such high standards for all events, which is essential for a successful wedding reception. I am a COVID bride, and Julian was extremely professional as we rescheduled our wedding reception that was supposed to be in May, a couple of months later to July. Then Venue is extremely clean, sleek, modern, and the service is impeccable! The food they cater for their events is absolutely delicious; the majority of our wedding reception guests told us that this was the best wedding meal they have ever had out of all of the weddings they have attended throughout their lives. Julian and his team are efficient, know how to get the job done, and are incredible to work with!

They were so great to work with, especially with having to move the wedding due to Covid. We received tons of compliments from our guests on how safe they felt plus how delicious the food was!

We would like to thank Julian and his team at The Venue in Leawood again for all of their help from the day we enquired about booking our wedding, until the moment it was time for bed on our day, even when we had to postpone due to Covid19. The Venue in Leawood was the sixth venue that we viewed, and we left with such excitement knowing that it was the venue that we wanted to get married at; it really did exceed all exceptions of how the venue looked on the day with those little touches (especially the lighting), and how the day came together. Nothing was ever too much for ask for, and questions were always answered super-fast. Everything felt so personal and dedicated to us, devoted to making our day as incredible as it could be. Julian worked with us, giving us multiple options and never pressured into something we felt uncomfortable with. The venue is stunning and so incredibly peaceful! We truly experienced a fairy-tale wedding at The Venue in Leawood! Thank you for also controlling the situation that happened as I was sure would impact everything we had planned but it didn’t. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, or a better venue. Thank you Julian and your team, you guys made our day the most special day of our lives.

Julian and Elizabeth were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were always available to answer any questions that we had during the wedding planning process and went out of their way to make our day truly incredible. The Venue is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I did our wedding reception here a little more than a month ago and did not once regret our decision in choosing the venue. Julian and his wife were extremely helpful throughout the entire process! i am not the most decisive person and am a very laid back, but they were so helpful in helping me make important decision and everything looked amazing! The whole night ran smoothly and they were extremely accommodating with food allergies to make sure everyone was able to enjoy their meals. Not to mention the food was AMAZING! Typically wedding food is usually just okay when being made in bulk, but we got SO many compliments on the pasta and love it ourselves. Not enough good things to say about the venue and LOVED having out special night there!

We loved with with Julian and Elizabeth. From the initial tour to our meetings leading up to our big day, they were both so helpful. It was wonderful to have one vendor that could do tableware, lighting, sound, food, and cleanup. Anything we wanted to change they were accommodating and they responded to emails in a timely manner. It was great that they had a timeline in place that we met about up about 6 times from our initial visit to the meeting a week before. The Venue was also affordable and could hold our large guest count of 240 comfortably. The food was amazing and the table set up was beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone!

I couldn't leave a better review about this venue!!! Although it is in the suburbs and may seem like a random wedding reception venue (being in a strip mall in Leawood) you would never know it once you are inside! The owner, Julian, and his wife, Elizabeth, were a pleasure to work with. They are truly professionals and made me feel so special each time I met with them. Julian is the head chef and prepared the dinner for our guests. There are also liquor packages included. These two things sold me on this venue because it was an easy, package deal. Julian added an outdoor tent outside for my winter wedding which added a third bar and another location for guests to gather. Julian and Elizabeth also had a ton of Christmas decor up which made it so festive for the time of year. We had a hot chocolate bar and even a late night snack. The dance floor was big enough to keep the party going all night long with our live band. I am incredibly impressed with this wedding venue and my mom and I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone looking!

The Venue was the perfect place for our reception. The inside has the perfect modern feel! Julian and his team went above and beyond to make our night perfect and the food was incredible!! We would definitely recommend!!

The Venue in Leawood was the perfect setting for the wedding reception of our daughter and (now) son-in-law! Julian was so easy to work with and generous with his advice to make this an absolutely amazing celebration! We had numerous, spontaneous comments from our guests regarding the beautiful decorations and delicious food! Also, we made a VERY wise decision retaining his colleague Elizabeth as our on-site coordinator. She kept us on schedule and offered many helpful suggestions. Madison Oswald is our only daughter, so we wanted her to have a memorable wedding day, and The Venue in Leawood certainly did its part to accomplish that goal! I'm sure Madison and her husband Steve are now keeping the party going in Maui!

We got married at The Venue end of August and both the family and our guests later told us they had so much fun! The Venue is beautiful, we had both the ceremony and the reception there in different rooms and that worked out perfectly. The bridal suite is lovely and us girls had an awesome time having a makeup party there. Julian is a great cook - we had the food stations and the food was fantastic! Elizabeth did a great job of organizing the ceremony together with our officiant and had some good ideas which we hadnt considered. The way she decorated both the ceremony and the reception room was spot on. We had puzzles and coloring stations and she organized drinks for the pre-ceremony room so the guests could mingle before the wedding, and she always came and checked in with us about details we missed and kept us on track for the rest of the evening. Over all it was a really memorable time and in no small part due to The Venue and its entire staff. Thank you to Julian, Elizabeth and their entire team!

From the moment that we toured The Venue, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding reception! We loved that everything was included with the room including tables, chairs, linens, set up, and tear down. Julian was always available and responded in a timely manner. We had access to the room at 10am the day of our event, which was the perfect amount of time. The food was well prepared and our guests gave many compliments on it. Our only complaint was that our guests were hot and there wasn't anything they could do to fix it. We would highly recommend this venue!

Flexibility: My partner and I had a very unique wedding in mind. We wanted to have an Oscar-style or banquet-style wedding, with the guests already seated for dinner during the ceremony. Although this venue had never done that before, they were quick to agree and helped make this idea a reality. Having everyone already seated made cocktail hour and the transition to dinner very easy and comfortable. Food: Dinner was delicious! You have to try Julian’s lasagna! Even guests who don’t really like Italian raved about the lasagna. The food was so good that I wished I wasn’t in my wedding dress so I could eat more! We had a cake delivered and Julian helped us to get the cake set up and staff helped us cut and serve the cake. Bar: We had an open bar with beer and wine and a signature cocktail. The cocktail was pretty light on the liquor but tasted great so we didn’t mind. Our guests commented that the bartenders were really friendly and even remembered certain guests’ drinks so that when they went for more, they were quickly served. Music: We opted to have our own music instead of a DJ. We brought our own speakers to play both the processional music and the dancing. This worked great for us and everyone had a fun time dancing the night away. The processional was beautiful and the space was gorgeous! Amenities: The bridal suite is beautiful. Huge mirrored walls made getting ready fun and the pictures will be beautiful. The bridal suite has a private bathroom and a mini-fridge. The bathrooms in the venue are also very nice. The space provides tables and chairs, linens, table settings, center pieces, table numbers, faux flowers for the tables, and candles. There is an outside sitting area and a beautiful array of roses and plants near an arbor for lovely pictures. Management & Staff: Julian and Elizabeth were excellent at coordinating all of the details of my wedding. We planned the wedding in 6 months remotely, and they were so flexible. My partner and I live in NY State and they were always quick to answer questions or take calls to help us plan and envision our wedding day even though we were not able to see the venue in person. We had calls and email meetings several times leading up to the wedding and were able to meet in person the week before the wedding to settle any details. The day of the wedding Julian and Elizabeth did an awesome job providing all of the electronics, microphones, and projector. The tables looked beautiful and I didn’t have to add a single thing to them. The food and bar staff were effective, professional, and classy. Elizabeth helped me clean up at the end and all in all I had an amazing experience with the whole staff. The Venue in Leawood cannot be beat for the service and amenities you get for the price. TLDR The Venue in Leawood was an amazing place for our wedding and I would recommend it to anyone.

I went to a marvelous wedding at The Venue in Leawood on April 6th that included rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch ... Everything was incredible : food, liquor, decorations, staff .. even Mardi Grass during the reception !!! Thank you so much for all your attentions !!!

On Saturday April 6th we celebrated our daughter Juliana’s wedding to Michael Mayes at The Venue in Leawood, Kansas. Since it was a destination wedding we also held on Friday April 5th the Rehearsal Dinner and on Sunday April 8th a Farewell Brunch. They OVER EXCEED our expectations !!! The food was DELICIOUS. The decorations were AMAZING. The cake was SPECTACULAR. The staff attention was SUPERB. Julian and Elizabeth were MORE THAN AWESOME, both of them understood our daughter’s dreams and did every effort to made come true. They also helped us find DJ, Band, Photographers, Beauty Saloon and housing arrangements with the Aloft Hotel and transportations. We appreciate all their hard work and thank them for everything they did. We truly recommended The Venue in Leawood for any kind of event and give a big round of applause to Julian, Elizabeth and all their personnel: Matt, Valentin, Carmen, Jose, among other names. I have nothing but praise for Julian, Elisabeth and their staff. There were fantastic from day one of planning. Julian helped us with our catering as well and the food was phenominal. Their staff was very professional and catered to our guests. The Venue is absolutely beautiful. We chose to do both the ceremony and reception all there and they did a great job with logistics of everything and helping keep everything run smoothly. If there were problems that arose they handled them perfectly and I was none the wiser.

The Venue in Leawood was an amazing venue and we can not recommend them enough! Julian was extremely helpful and responsive, which is exactly what you need when planning a wedding. They accommodated all of our requests and were so nice about everything. The venue itself is beautiful and was the perfect space for our reception. They provided food and drink, set up and tear down, and were worth every penny. The Venue also worked very well with all of our other vendors. If we could give them 10 stars, we would!

I inquired for some information for this venue, and I got a reply saying that “we wouldn’t be a good fit because a Saturday in 2020 is 12,000 and with my party size it would be extremely expensive.” Instead of even trying to gather information, or even try to get my business they instead made me feel like it wasn’t even a possibility. This place obviously lacks professionalism. Oh, and may I add that I toured this venue months back and thought it was beautiful (not worth $12,000 but definitely pretty, and Julian gave us a tour with a wedding going on. There was family there, and the grooms/groomsmen were taking photos, etc. If it was my wedding, I’d be extremely mad at that. Read the reviews people, multiple people are saying the same thing. I dodged a bullet with this one.

The Venue in Leawood made my dream wedding a reality! From the beginning when we were first touring venues to the day of the wedding, Julian and Elizabeth were welcoming, accommodating and flexible to our vision, informative, and a pleasure to work with. My husband and I decided on going with the venue for many reasons...1. It had a modern, yet elegant look which is what we were looking for. 2. The space was perfect for both the ceremony and reception since they were separated from each other, indoors so weather wasn’t a concern, and there was a beautiful patio area for cocktail hour. 3. A service staff was included for the day of the wedding and to set up and tear down tables, chairs, and table decor, which was very convenient and the only clean up we had to do was for our own decor we brought in. 4. The food...was absolutely delicious! Full of flavor and variety. 5. Overall convenience! That was definitely intriguing to us that all main vendors usually needed for a wedding were under one roof (caterer, bar tenders, venue, tables, chairs, ceremony space, ceremony decor rental, lighting, table decor, etc.) This was a huge stress relief from the planning process. Julian and Elizabeth were wonderful to communicate with, always with a fast response time, they offered support and solutions, were always open to meeting with us if needed, the pricing for everything was reasonable, they went over every detail with us prior to our wedding on different occassions to make sure it was perfect and what we still wanted, and they were both present on the day of making sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, My husband and I, along with our family and friends were very happy with how everything looked and turned out. The day of our wedding, the venue looked beautiful, perfect, and it was more than I had imagined. We received several compliments regarding the food and event space. We highly recommend The Venue in Leawood for any couple that wants a modern/elegant wedding and ease in their planning process!

I can not say enough what a joy Julian, Elizabeth, and the ENTIRE staff was to work with. From our first phone call to the last minute of our reception everyone was friendly, professional, and always available. The Venue in Leawood was easy to work with, excellent at communication before AND during our wedding, and priced excellent. Our guests were wow'd by the food and presentation as well.

The Venue in Leawood gave us the wedding of our dreams! Julian and his staff were absolutely delightful to work with! From the moment we booked with them, they exceeded our expectations in every way! Julian was great with communication and answered emails and phone calls within 24 hours or less. We even had our rehearsal dinner at The Venue and it could not have gone better. The food was absolutely delicious and they really made sure that we had everything we needed to have an amazing night both Friday and Saturday! They really did care about your event and wanted to make sure everything went smoothly and that I was a happy Bride. I met with Julian in person several times leading up to my wedding. We sat down and went over everything in detail to be sure that we were on the same page and that any questions or concerns I had were answered and that I felt comfortable with everything. I thought it was great that he took the time to actually sit with us in person! Both the rehearsal dinner and wedding went absolutely great and me and my husband could not have been happier with Julian and the Venue in Leawood. I highly recommend booking with them for any event!!

The Venue in Leawood exceeded my expectations for a venue! Julian and his staff are a blast to work with. We booked our wedding at the end of October, 8 months in prior to our wedding. The first time we met with Julian he was the sweetest guy ever. Him and Elizabeth asked us every question imaginable, including color of linens, lights, table numbers, and so much more. From there we met with Julian about 4 or 5 more times before the wedding. Any time I wanted to go to the venue to envision more details regarding it, he was so nice to let me come in and walk around. Our florist wanted to visit the venue to look around and get a better idea for decorations and Julian let us come with a days notice. When my family, fiancé and I went in for our food tasting, Julian set up a three course meal for us and served us like we were at a restaurant. Totally unnecessary but extremely nice. We ended up being there for about 3 hours because we got to talking about life and becoming friends. From there we exchanged about a billion emails and he always emailed me within an hour or so of the email being sent. About two months before the wedding Julian informed us that he himself could not be at the wedding but that Andrea would take charge of it. Many brides would be worried or scared about this change but because of the relationship I had formed with Julian, Elizabeth and Andrea, I had no worries regarding the change. Leading up to our wedding, Julian and his staff met with us a month before the wedding to finalize numbers and food and then met with us again the week of the wedding for us to see the setup for the day of and answer any last minute questions or make last minute changes. This eased so much stress from the weekend because all questions were answered prior to the rehearsal. The rehearsal and wedding were everything I could have imagined and more thanks to the people at the Venue. I HIGHLY recommend The Venue for ceremonies, receptions and other events!-- McKenna Oldson

The Venue in Leawood was beautiful. The décor, the lighting and the outside scenery was amazing. However, this review will be more about the lack of customer service, professionalism and the attitude that the wedding planner, the wedding party, and I (the ride) received from Julian, the owner of this property. When I initially agreed to this location, I did not meet with Julian; I met with another man; who is no longer with the Venue. From the very beginning, Julian was rude and condescending over the phone, via email and in person. Julian made it his mission to tell me how important reviews were for him and that any negative reviews that he received were from customers who did not have “real expectations” and that it was the other vendors’ fault and not his…first red flag. Julian would often talk down to the wedding planner, her team, and me but would treat my husband differently. I am not sure if he respects women as much as he does men but I felt disrespected on many occasions. My husband told me anytime that you have to speak with Julian, let me know and I will do it. During my wedding rehearsal, we were walking through how I wanted the venue set up and Julian, yet again, was rude. While explaining how I wanted to tables arranged, he would cut me off multiple times with his opinion. I began to get frustrated so my sister, the Matron of Honor had to step in on my behalf. The wedding planner also had to say something to Julian about his demeanor. After the meeting, the wedding planner and her team apologized to me for his attitude. The wedding planner promised that I would not have to speak to Julian on the day of the wedding because of the way he was speaking with me. The day of the wedding, this was the last straw. During my big reveal to my bridesmaids and my Father, I noticed there were two people sitting at our tables reserved for the parents of the Bride. I asked that they leave because this was a very private and personal moment and to have strangers staring at you was horrible. I requested that these two people removed from the reception space, my sister went to find Julian and tell him about our dismay with the situation. My sister demanded that Julian give me an apology. Julian came to the Bridal Suite and said, “I apologize, they had an appointment at 3pm and they were running late, I apologize.” My ceremony began at 4pm, so why would you think it was appropriate to have someone to come view the space 1 hour before I was to walk down the aisle. I also said they were sitting at my tables which was for my parents, he said “I apologize, I don’t know what else I can say.” I was over the entire conversation with him, I just wanted to get married and be done with Julian. The picture attached to this review is when I was revealing myself to my father and Julian and the two visitors were sitting at the table clearly having a meeting during this very intimate and private moment. The person in the suite is my Father; the person with his back towards us is Julian. Again, extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to have a meeting during when I had the venue booked and decorated for my day. I will never forget the feeling that I had when I saw these strangers and the sheer disregard for my wedding that Julian had for a paying customer.

There is no denying that the Venue in Leawood is beautiful. There’s a ton of space, and the color scheme can be fully customized to fit your needs. Parking is free, and there’s a ton of it. The bridal room is also very nice, and I was able to get some lovely pictures taken in there. All of my guests at my wedding reception commented on how pretty everything looked. Then came the day of my wedding. About two weeks prior to the event, we moved the time up one hour. And I made sure to confirm it. I had also originally planned on myself and three bridesmaids getting dressed at the Venue after our hair and makeup appointment. However, we realized that we wouldn’t have time to, so I emailed and let them know ahead of time. When I got to the reception, I went in through the back door and waited with one bridesmaid. Then Julian came back to the room, and I assumed it was to congratulate me again. Oh no. He got super snippy with me because HE forgot that the time had been moved up an hour. He was also mad that he had gotten there at 8 am to wait for me to come get ready, but I guess there was some miscommunication internally and no one let him know that I wouldn’t be coming before the reception. He got super pissy when I tried to explain, and he told me to be quiet! Then, when it came to speech time, something happened with the microphone. Not a big deal, the best man was able to project his voice so everyone could hear him. In the middle of his speech, Julian comes speed walking around the room and slaps a microphone into the best man’s chest, and h paused and looked kind of confused before setting the microphone on the table. It was completely unnecessary and honestly very rude. There was also a moment where one of the servers knocked over a pitcher of water. My mom went and politely said there was a spill and asked for a mop or some napkins, and was rudely brushed off before Julian started yelling at the poor girl in front of everyone. I didn’t know at the time that this was happening, but multiple people told me about it after the fact. And then there's my brother. He has some severe food allergies. My mom and I asked from the beginning about bringing him his own food from home. Julian was very understanding about it and told us to bring it in a container and he would heat it up and serve it on a plate. Upon arriving, he refused to do so, saying he wanted nothing to do with it, very loudly and very rudely. My mom was pretty upset about that. The worst part of all this is that my grandparents paid the entire venue fee. We also had a cash bar because we just couldn’t afford to have an open one. I understand that the Venue needs to make money, but after spending $4000, it was little irritating to have to pay the difference in the bar tab for whatever wasn’t spent up to $1000. I’m not sure what was spent there total, but I can’t imagine it was very much. The extremely limited options were way overpriced, and the specialty drink had barely an alcohol in it at all. I feel like I wasted my grandparent’s money on a venue where I felt unwelcome, and my guests were treated terribly. I will NEVER go here again, and I will warn everyone I know not to waste their money here.

I had the opportunity to go to an event at The Venue in Leawood, and it was absolutely wonderful! I was really impressed with the atmosphere, decorations, and service that they provided, and Chef Julian was walking around and making sure everyone was having a great time. The food that Chef Julian provided was simply amazing. I would definitely recommend this venue to everyone, regardless of the type of event they want to host.

The Venue in Leawood was everything we were looking for. Modern, clean lines and a big open space for everyone to be able to be present and together. Carl was one of our favorite vendors. He has a no-nonsense attitude that is greatly appreciated in the middle of wedding planning. He was very upfront about what he could and would be able to do and made sure that we were informed through every step of our process.

We held our wedding reception at the Venue and we couldn't be happier with how the night turned out. We had approx. 200 guests and The Venue catered us a terrific meal. The site is gorgeous inside, not to mention their stunning outdoor patio. The space created the perfect atmosphere where everyone felt involved with the festivities without feeling too crowded. And the layout of this event space couldn't have worked out better for us; we had ample room for dance floor, band, and tables/chairs for all of our 200 guests. Thank you to The Venue for helping create such a memorable wedding night! Highly recommend!
