We got married at The View at the beginning of October, and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire staff was attentive and kind, the owner Aki was incredibly helpful and helped to direct the little ones down the aisle ahead of us (they had a momentary distraction by some very cool rocks and he got them back on track!). The food was great, the bartenders were great, the venue was beautiful, and we had an excellent time. Highly recommend.
The Staff here were impeccable! What an amazing venue for our wedding reception!
The Crags Lodge and The View were an absolute dream for our wedding day. Not only were my guests awed by the stunning backdrop of the mountains, the comfortable and ease of access for the rooms, the spectacular space of the bar and restaurant for the reception- Aki, the GM of the View, went above and beyond for us. He is the main reason the day went off without a hitch- he is the most gracious host that just blew us away with his hospitality. We arrived the day before the wedding and he took us through the entire process of the reception, provided a wine tasting for us, gave us the ENTIRE restaurant for use even though we only agreed on a half rental, and made sure everything was to our liking. Not to mention the fantastic meal they provided us for the reception. We were just speechless. Outstanding people, outstanding venue, we will be back for every anniversary we can and will sing their praises for the rest of our lives.
We had the perfect wedding at the Crags Lodge, this place is a hidden gem! They made everything so easy for us. The Crags Lodge did a great job accomodating my guests that weekend and were so polite! Michael, our coordinator, was so attentive the day of the wedding and even helped to get us a few extra vegan plates for our guests at the last minute. Our guests had such a blast exploring the beautiful lodge. And the ceremony site is breathtaking at sunset! My only regret of the day was that I ate too much food and didn’t save room for the peach cobbler all my guests raved about. Highly recommended!!
The Crags is really a hidden gem in Estes Park! The price is much lower than a lot of other venues and the ceremony view is absolutely amazing! We got married in July and our guests are still telling us about how amazing the venue and the food were. If you are a big beer drinker they also had an excellent selection of local craft beer.
Shad and Jessica were amazing to work with. The food was fantastic, they were very accommodating to guest's dietary restrictions and the entire staff was awesome. We couldn't have had a better time at our wedding thanks to both of them.
If I could give more stars I would! The coordinator we worked with at Crags was incredibly helpful, patient and knowledgeable. She helped make sure our day was exactly what we wanted! She was very accommodating with what we envisioned and wanted. The food was FANTASTIC! We had chicken parmesan, pork wrapped prosciutto, mixed greens with a lemon champagne vinaigrette and mixed veggies. We received several compliments on the food, venue and the incredible views we had!

DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE if Jessica is still the coordinator. She made everything unnecessarily difficult, did not return calls or emails (providing a bookful of excuses), did not show up on time, would not put PRICES in our contract, gave my mom's credit card informatiin to her (Jessica's) husband, sent snippy, unprofessional emails, and was definitely the sour spot for our reception. She even set the whole room up backwards so I had to recruit people to move heavy tables and reset place settings on the morning of my wedding because she wasn't there to fix it. RUN!!!
My husband and I were so happy to have stumbled upon this gem! We knew that Estes Park, CO was where we wanted to get married, but finding an affordable venue for our small wedding (<50 ppl) was difficult. The ceremony site overlooks the valley, and the views are unbeatable! This venue is very inclusive (i.e. reservation price includes ceremony setup, chairs, linens, dishes, etc), and we didn't have to worry about seeking a caterer. The amazing views coupled with the rustic feel of the reception area and the inclusive nature of the venue made it really easy for us to plan. The food was great, too!
We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and I debated for weeks if I should even bother to review this place. First off, the view is fantastic and we thought the food was good. The one thing that sticks out in our minds is how rude the venue coordinator Jessica is. We are extremely embarrassed by her rude attitude and received many negative complaints about from 0ur guests. I see there has not been a review since she took over (within the past year) so I am wondering if we are not the only ones who felt this way. We witnessed her yelling at our DJ and he commented to me that she told him he was doing everything wrong and we thought he was amazing. We will never return or support this business as long as she is working there. She is clearly in the wrong business and should not be working in a high stress environment. Save yourself the embarrassment and get married elsewhere.
We had our dinner reception for our daughter's small wedding that was at RMNP in the small room off of the dining room. Everything was terrific! Jessica was helpful and the food was fantastic! Our waiters made our small group feel very pampered with their attention and service. I am so glad that we picked The View as the restaurant for the wedding.
Everything was spectacular from start to finish! The new manager Jessica was so helpful & accomodating from day one. We had a small reception so we reserved the private party room, which is cute as can be with mountain decor. For larger receptions or rehearsal dinners the main dining room is by far the best view in all of Estes with floor to ceiling windows! It offers a country club feel at half the cost. With the new management the menu changed and we could not of been happier with the food, everyone loved their dishes. The executive chef Shad came and checked on us after the food was served to make sure everyone was happy with the dish, and we could not of been happier with the quality as well as portion size.
We had a cocktail hour to start the reception and served appetizers and drinks out on the patio with a cellist playing music in the background, it was the perfect transition from wedding to reception and provided the elegant classy ambiance we were going for.
The service was top notch, everyone's drinks were always kept full, the food served warm, & the used dishes removed within minutes. I really can't say enough good things about The View. We came from out of town so planning without seeing the venue except for online pictures was a bit of a challenge but we are so glad we picked this restaurant! We wouldn't of changed one thing. It was by far the nicest place we ate at the 8 days we spent in town and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food and atmosphere.
The entire property is gorgeous and although we did not have our wedding here they allowed us to take pictures wherever we wanted on the property. If you are considering a destination wedding in Estes Park you will not be disappointed if you hold an event here. Jessica, Shad, and all the staff are wonderful.
My husband's parents live in Estes Park, so when we were looking at locations for our reception, we had the local scoop, which was great since I was planning the wedding from overseas and three months before the big day.
Keelee, the wedding coordinator, is incredibly attentive and quick to answer e-mails, which made planning a breeze. The View is a restaurant but closes for private events, and so the day of the wedding, we had the whole place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. We went in to set up at 10:00 a.m., though the reception didn't start until 6:30 p.m., and Keelee was there from the start. When it was time for the reception, she made sure things moved along, like the speeches, dances, and cake cutting, without anything feeling rushed.
The food was delicious! We had the beef tips and Mediterranean chicken because Keelee let us mix and match the buffet options and asparagus that was perfectly cooked and Yukon potatoes and the salad and rolls that come with each buffet option. I had asked Keelee to box up food from the buffet for us to take after the reception was over since I had heard some couples don't get a chance to eat at their own reception, and she was more than accommodating and happy to do so. She even saved hors d'oeuvres for us from the cocktail hour and served those to us as soon as we sat down at our sweetheart table.
The dining area has a nice woodsy, rustic feel to it (a big reason my husband wanted to have it there since he didn't want the hotel ballroom atmosphere), and of course with a name like The View, it has a great view! Highly recommend this place for a wedding reception or any other event.
We were incredibly happy with our wedding at The View Restaurant at The Historic Crags Lodge. It is a great value for the area. It is not your "typical" banquet hall (which we loved!) and it has great views of the mountains for the ceremony and pictures. You can have your ceremony inside or out. I also liked that there was an outdoor patio that guests could wander out to during the reception for some fresh air and great views. Keelee works directly with you the whole time and she is really helpful and friendly. Overall, they are flexible and will work with you to customize the experience to your needs. The food was delicious and my guests all commented on what a great venue it was. They only have one wedding at a time, which is a plus. My one complaint is that the reception can't go past 10PM. I would definitely recommend this as a wedding venue!
I loved working with Keelee (event planner) when planning the wedding. She was thorough, helpful, responsive and obviously knew exactly what she was doing.
The day of our wedding, the place looked great. The view is spectacular, the ambiance was perfect. All of our needs were taken care of quickly and easily. I felt the staff was professional and certainly went above and beyond.
The food is delicious! I can't say enough good things. Compared to other places we looked in Estes Park, Crag's Lodge was a deal and really impressed me.
Keelee (the venue coordinator) was good, and very helpful on the day of the wedding. She didn't always respond to emails promptly or answer the questions completely via email, but we didn't need to talk to her much beforehand. And she was great whenever we met in person or talked on the phone. I LOVE the decorations in the venue-it's all the original wood, with old wooden skis and snowshoes on the walls. I didn't feel like we needed to add decorations since it was already so pretty. And the view really is great!
The food was DELICIOUS! I got so many compliments about how good it was. The bar was good and very reasonably priced. I like that they charge you for the number of drinks that were bought vs. a flat fee to have an open bar. One thing I meant to do (and forgot...there's a lot of stuff to think about on your wedding day) was to ask them to remove their tip jar from the bar. We were already paying gratuity for food and drinks, so I didn't want my guests to feel like they also needed to tip the bartender.
We had a small reception with a buffet style meal, and paid for the minimum number of guests (60) needed for them to close the restaurant to other people. I meant to ask about taking the leftovers with us, but I forgot, so I'm a little upset that we paid for all this extra food that we didn't get. They also did not fix up a plate for the bride and groom to take with them at the end of the reception (I've been to other weddings where they do that). That was another thing I forgot to ask about, so they might do it if you ask ahead of time.
My main issue was that we couldn't get in to decorate until 10am on the day of the wedding. Our wedding was at noon in another location, so this meant that I had to have my wedding party decorate (without me) while I was getting pictures taken with my husband between the ceremony and reception. It wasn't too big of a deal since we didn't have a lot of decorations (guest book, centerpieces, etc), just some added stress that could have been fixed if we had been allowed to decorate the night before or earlier in the morning.
Overall, though, I would recommend it. It's definitely the cheapest venue in Estes Park (aside from doing something in a city park). It's very pretty, the food was great, and everyone on the staff was friendly.
The reception hall has an entire wall of hand crafted glass windows that overlook Estes Park and the surrounding mountains, a separate bar area that lead into the dining hall by French doors, and a complete mountain lodge atmosphere. The staff was incredibly helpful and worked with all of our vendors to create the absolutely perfect wedding reception.
