The Villa

The Villa was the perfect venue and location for our wedding! We were in their Renaissance Suite which was the perfect combination of mostly indoor and some outdoor space. The cocktail room space is fantastic, and your guests are able to use it throughout the whole wedding which was so perfect as well as the beautiful garden space in between where guests can get some air or kids can have some more space! Our day-of coordinator was Veronica - her and her team were AMAZING!! Absolutely incredible, we could not have asked for a better team! The day ran perfectly smooth with no hiccups. They took care of all the details so we could just enjoy the day and coordinated very well with our other vendors. The only issue we had with the venue was in the months leading up to the wedding. Before we were assigned Veronica, we received some conflicting information, did not receive a lot of communication from the venue unless prompted by us, and ran into glitches with their planning portal. I would recommend being very proactive in asking questions and making sure all your portal information is correct and saved. You have to be a bit more detail oriented to make sure all your information is correct, but it was worth it for us to have our wedding at an affordable all-inclusive venue with a beautiful tent, garden, and cocktail hour space!! It was exactly what we envisioned for our special day.

I was looking for an all inclusive venue that we could afford and I am so happy we chose The Villa. I like to keep things very simple but elegant. So the Renaissance Suite was the perfect venue. They also have a ballroom if you’re looking for something a little more glamorous. The planning process was so easy from the beginning of signing our contract to our wedding day. We had originally set a date for Sept 2020 but unfortunately had to postpone due to the pandemic. I was afraid of having to spend extra money on doing so but they were very understanding. Maddy was so helpful in helping us set our new date to May 2021. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not easy at all and she made the process so much easier. We met our day of coordinator Ya-Maila just a few days before our wedding and I felt like I knew her for years! She was so warm and welcoming. The day of our wedding was perfect! There was a little mix up with the table numbers so my parents sat a little further from us but it was okay! The food was so good we received many compliments from our family and friends. The staff was also very attentive, sweet and complimentary. We enjoyed our wedding so much and I am so thankful we choose this venue and got to meet great people along the way!

There arent enough words to describe our experience with our wedding venue. Katie, magical. Veronica, a godsend. Staff remarkable. This venue is ALL INCLUSIVE which was one of the main reasons we booked them so quickly. EVERYTHING WAS INCLUDED!!! food, alcohol, linens, set and breakdown, cake, and more! I wish I could get married over and over to get the same experience. everyone was so professional and happy to answer all questions. prompt responses and help from start to finish. I don't know what I would've done without Katie!!! THANK YOU!

This venue is absolutely phenomenal. The pictures and video probably wouldn't do it justice. My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better group and team of people to help create our vision. The staff was on top of eveything, and made you feel super comfortable. Just amazing with all that you ask of them. Top tier work.

Our Wedding Coordinator Tracy was very attentive and helpful. Our Day of Coordinator Shonda was so helpful with everything we needed the day before and the day of the wedding . I appreciate both of them for their help and dedication.

Service was amazing. Planner Shonda was very professional, kind and very helpful. Shonda make sure that I was satisfied. The food was amazing. All my guest were please.

I have to say that The Villa was the perfect location for our celebration! We wanted an “outdoor” wedding but wanted to stay cool. The Villa’s Renaissance suite with the tent was the perfect location! It gave our outdoor feeling without actually being outdoors! The planning process was so smooth! We just picked what we wanted and the Villa took care of the rest! I have to say that having the peace of mind knowing that once location is handling all of my needs in terms of location, food, drinks, cake - was totally worth it! Our guests were happy and had an amazing night. The staff at The Villa are all great and made our night a memorable one!

The venue is beautiful. We didn’t need to do too much decorating because the place is so perfect. The outside looks a little dicey but once we went inside I was sold. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the planners are a bit inattentive until DAYS before the wedding, which is super stressful.

Jeff and Olivia made the pre-process extremely easy to complete. I absolutely LOVED our day-of coordinator Brittany! She was a pure joy to work with. She was fun, attentive, and professional. All of my bridal party adored her and my guests felt the day went without a hitch. She made sure the staff was ready for us and my vendors. Brittany also was super wonderful with our almost 5yr old daughter/flower girl. She made her feel like a princess and that definitely helped keep the day running smooth. As soon as I met with her face to face, I knew we would be in good hands and she did not disappoint. If possible, she needs a raise because she is just that good! She even was able to help me solve some last minute issues with her original ideas. I just don't know how this day would have worked out without her. Also, I appreciate her assistant, Lauren, who was hard at work as well. I didn't spend as much time with her, but she was floating along with the plans perfectly. Our guests are still raving about the food, beverages, and service. They said that the day went so smooth and they felt like all of their needs were met. We had a few surprise meal adjustments, and those guests said they were amazed at how quickly the staff responded. Both my husband and I were catered to with first-class service. At our sweetheart table, we were given much attention by the staff when it came to our food and drink choices. They made us feel like royalty and I am ever thankful. My DIY decorations looked wonderful under the lighting of the space (we went with a dim white light and then changed to red when the party really started -- an awesome suggestion by Brittany). Everything was glowing and perfect when I saw the room. If I had to, I would choose this venue all over again!

Great!!! I had a wonderful experience w/ The Villa, Catering by Uptown. The team was extremely helpful in their presence, calls, emails, and their interactions with me. I was able to sit down with the group a total of three times (total) to try the food selection in which I changed when the wedding date was changed to the following day. I am delighted and grateful the I chose Catering by Uptown. Olivia was awesome and her professionalism was out of this world. I could not ask for any one else. Olivia not only helped us though out the process but she was able to help us on the schedule wedding day which was perfect because she knew every fine detail. It was extremely beautiful and everything was great!!!! Thank you so much to Olivia, The Villa and Catering by Uptown 😊😊😊

The Villa and Catering by Uptown was the best!!!! Food was exceptional, service was outstanding. The facility was beautiful. I could not have asked for a better experience. Our wedding is still being talked about because of The Villa facility. I HIGHLY recommend them for your next event. I will be back.

Our wedding and reception took place at The Villa on 11/24/17. Katelyn Cantu served as our wedding planner. Katelyn and other planners were helpful in answering questions as we planned the events. With attention to detail, she was amicable and truly customer-oriented; worked purposely with us to ensure that every detail of our wedding events achieved our every expectation. Ms. Vickie Mitchell served as our wedding day coordinator; she was absolutely magnificent and catered to the bridal party and our guests with exemplary professionalism and noteworthy expertise. When we met Vickie, we met a friend for life. What an amazing individual and caring soul! On the day of the wedding, everything was just spectacular--more than we had ever imagined. Vickie did a wonderful job in executing our dreams and going over and beyond to ensure our day was absolutely special--and it was special indeed in every way! The food was prepared with superb excellence--very delicious! All of our guests are still raving about how awesome the food was. The supporting staff was warm and friendly and gave us top-notch service and care! We have received so many compliments about our wedding and we couldn't be happier with our experience ourselves. Thank you to The Villa for making our wedding day the most memorable day ever!

I truly enjoyed having my wedding here at The Villa. Catering by uptown provides everything you need, which really helped in the planning and took a lot of stress off of me. The staff is wonderful, professional, personable, and easy to work with. I didn’t get to eat during the wedding so they packed up food for me. I’d say the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they do not have a bridal suite at this location. Also, even though they staggered the ceremonies, myself and another bride arrived at the same time so it was a little crowded with people coming in and out from 2 bridal parties. It was difficult keeping the two sets of wedding guests separate, some people signed my guestbook that should have been on the other side of the building. All things considered, my guests had a great time, they complimented the food and the drinks! I worked with Dianna, Katelyn, & Ms Vicky and I absolutely loved them!

Catering by Uptown was amazing! The entire staff was so professional, responsive, and kind. Full disclosure we are a lesbian couple, and it was very important to find a place that accepted the gays sort of speak LOL. Anne was great and she took us to several different venues staying within our price range. In the end, her and Ray were able to get us a great deal for our small wedding and a wonderful 6 hours of partying! Shonda was our coordinator throughout and she was AMAZINGGGG!! Always so prompt and caring; she always had this sense of warmth when we met up, to put it into perspective on the day of the wedding I didn't want to cut the cake unless Shonda was there because when she was everything always felt better and about 1 minute later she appeared from the room and was right there guiding us on how to cut the cake! I understand these are small things, but it's the small things which we will remember 5, 10, 15 years from now. I would like to say one thing about the staff, before coming into the ceremony the entire staff met us outside and saw how nervous we were. They were saying words of encouragement, like "everything is going to be fine", "you both look beautiful", the "ceremony lighting is no nice, we have never seen the ballroom area so pretty"! We thought this was a good a time to inform the staff that my wife would not be able to have any drinks throughout the night. They did not appear to be phased by this request as the staff were all professionals, and they ended up giving her apple cider throughout the night (looks like champagne to drunk people LOL) always marked with a cherry instead of a strawberry, which symbolized actual champagne (my drink). Sylvia was amazing on the day of the wedding she always made sure we had our respective drinks on our table, and made sure to remind us to eat. The bartender that night was remarkable as well. Loved our night and loved how above and beyond Catering by Uptown went to make our wedding BEAUTIFUL! Thank you! :)

I had originally planned my wedding to be in Destin, FL because my dream was to get married on the beach. Due to both my parents becoming really ill I had to move it to Maryland. At first I was bummed but that feeling quickly turned into excitement the moment I met Anne Portell and reserved the date at an open tasting event. Being that I was also dealing with a move from NYC to DC to care for my parents, a new position in my company as well as planning a wedding, I couldn't have had a better person to put my vision of a "beach theme" than Cindy Mengle. She was by far the sweetest, amazingly patient, most creative person I've ever met and I truly felt blessed to have her on my side during the whole planning process for this long awaited and special day. She truly made me feel like she cared about me and what I wanted. And last but definitely not least, I honestly couldn't have had the most perfect wedding had it not been for my amazing Day of Coordinator Margo and the staff of The Villa working that day to make my beach wedding a dream come true smack in the middle of Beltsville, MD without a beach in sight....lol!! Almost 3 weeks later and I am still getting texts of how beautiful everything was, how amazing the food was and just the service overall. I liked the venue. We had financial discrepancies and the staff rushed through our evening because we started slightly late but no one told us ahead of time that if we did not start exactly on time, things would be hurried to get you out on time, even though we were the only event that evening.

STAY AWAY! FOOD IS ok and my wedding was horrible! I had to deal with SO MUCH drama in the evening and AFTER the wedding! The day of coordinator Karen and venue had miscommunication on the seating chart. MY CLOSE FAMILY WERE AGAINST THE WALL IN THE BACK and people I'm not very close to were in the front. MY WEDDING WAS ON NOV 4, 2016 and it still haunts me to this very day. ALL THE PICTURES are with people I don't care so much about. MOST OF MY CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS were barely in any photos in the background because they were hidden. I AM SO UPSET.

I am the sister of the groom and they've asked me to write the review, as I interfaced with the Villa on behalf of my sister-in-law, specifically with Shonda and Elizabeth - both were phenomenal. I must say this in advance as it will frame everything that I write. I host a lot of personal parties and I have coordinated an infinite number of large events (200-2000 ppl) for my former organization, so from the beginning I walked into this experience knowing that I was entering into a contract and as such it needed to be managed as a business relationship. With that said, whenever I found a difference in what was communicated versus what was written Shonda assured me that she would take care of it and she did. This is not to say that I did not have to advocate strongly on behalf of my family. I did, but Shonda responded both effectively and professionally. We found the rental of the tent and the Uptown menu along with the accomodations for linens and glassware a great choice for the budget. The absolute gem in all of this was Elizabeth, our Day of Coordinator. She is a dream come true. Because I had worked with the Pastor at the rehearsal, I coordinated the wedding and Elizabeth coordinated the reception. She took the vision that I gave her and not only implemented it, but she took it to levels well beyond. I wish I could post a picture. I told her that my desire was to sit down during the reception and to be with my family and believe me, she forced me out and stepped in as a creative parter and quite frankly, she was genius. She made everything beautiful. Because I had purchased all of the supplemental items for the wedding, I thought I knew what it would all look like, but when I walked into the reception, I could not imagine what was before me. Elizabeth had created a winter wonderland and it was a dream. It was as though she and I had been talking for months about the vision - when in reality we'd only spoken for the last 4-5 days. Elizabeth went out of her way in countless ways to create the kind of event that we desired. I won't list all the ways that she blessed our family but you can imagine. There were, what seemed like small things, but were huge for a couple tying the knot, that didn't get communicated, like the grooms signature cocktail - Sangria (that requires a lot of fruit be prepped in advance), a bridesmaid bursting out of her dress and needing to be pinned in and finally and most importantly, she always had the view of our Wedding in mind; always thinking about when and where to put items to ensure they were ready for use. In closing, I'd simply say if you're looking to host a mid-level budgetary event, the Villa is a great choice. I recommend that you specifically ask for Shonda and Elizabeth. They are the dream team. Enjoy your special day!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at The Villa in November 2016. We were in the ballroom. Every staff member we interacted with from our first visit was helpful and nice in person and over email. Including many speedy responses to my slew of random questions in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. The ballroom is large and beautiful and was the perfect space for our 150 guests. Our wedding was in the evening so it was dark by the time the ceremony was over. There are not a ton of spots to take photos but luckily the other half of the venue was not being used so we took group photos there. We also got some great nighttime shots outside. The food was delicious! And our cake tuned out wonderful -exactly my vision! There was an issue with the table numbers not matching the floor plan they provided us, but thankfully our guests understood and all had a wonderful time. All in all, we enjoyed working with Catering By Uptown to have our wedding at The Villa. Would just recommend double checking the little details like table arrangements before your wedding.

Wedding and reception in same location, great venue!

This place is AMAZING. This one stop shop allowed me to enjoy being a bride instead of running from vendor to vendor. The staff was so accommodating (Miranda accepted all of my 1000 calls with a smile), the food was amazing and the venue was beautiful. There aren't enough stars to truly give this company the rating it deserves. They really made sure my day was extra special.

I would never recommend this venue. First you have to deal with 3 different people, a sales rep, an event coordinator (which literally does nothing), then a day of coordinator. Why do I have someone different as my event coordinator and day of coordinator? So you have to explain what you want to 3 different people. The sales rep will agree to anything to get you in the door, MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN YOUR CONTRACT, LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU REQUEST MAKE SURE ITS IN THE CONTRACT. Then you have to repeat the same request to your event coordinator which has to get management approval (even though the sales rep agreed to it), then you have to repeat the same step for your day of coordinator. Extremely stressful especially when you have to do all of this during your wedding week. Catering by Uptown sends you a huge packet that you have to complete & sign the week of your wedding to make sure all of your details are correct, this would be amazing if they actually followed what was in the packet, but they don’t. Everything I signed in my packet was not part of my wedding at all. I had the wrong wine, missing food, and vegetarians were served food with meat. After my wedding, I told them food was missing and they told me it wasn’t, I then had to PROVE to them that food was missing. The Villa made a lot of promises to us that they did not keep. We were also told we would be the only event in the building and that we had rented the entire building for the evening. But, another wedding was scheduled the same night. I had requested only high top tables, then on my day, there were low top tables because the other wedding, which wasn’t supposed to even be there, was using the high tops. Why wasn’t this said before my wedding? Another issue I had was that I barley saw my day of coordinator throughout the event. I expected her to be around if anything was needed. On the packet you complete, it asks for names & numbers for people who the coordinator is supposed to speak to in case anything goes wrong, my day of coordinator came up to me to tell me things that were going wrong. NOT SOMETHING I WANT TO DEAL WITH ON MY WEDDING DAY. The staff is very nice throughout the process and they make it seem like they'll make it the perfect wedding, however, the day of, there was no one there taking care of the event. I sent multiple emails that were never answered, got responses to emails that answered only half of my questions. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place and would not recommend it to anyone. Also, not sure how or why people are able to leave reviews for their venue before their event even happens.

Worst experience ever. Would never recommend this venue. The management there are the worst people to deal with. They get you in the door, but the moment you make your first deposit, thing change. They have no compassion or professionalism. Spend your money somewhere else.

The Villa was my dream venue and I could not have asked for anything better! The set up was amazing. My coordinator, Shonda, was fantastic. I heard some wonderful things from my guests. My husband (who gets really bad heartburn) was having an episode and Shonda offered to send her assistants out to get him something to help him out! The tables, food, and overall atmosphere were perfect! I am so happy that I decided to have my reception there!

My husband and I renewed out vows for our 10 year anniversary. We looked at various places but to start with the consultation appointment was great. Linda definitely won the business. I was going back and forth with The Villa and another venue, but Linda was so responsive and detailed and nice that she wont me over and we went with them. Best decision ever!!! I was assigned to work with Miranda for the planning and she is sooo energetic and nice. I always prefer to communicate via email, Miranda was very responsive and always making me like I had nothing to worry about. If I showed the slightest sign of stress, very calmly she would say, dont worry it'll work out or we'll figure out. She was great!! The coordinator for our event was Alma - I have no words to express my gratitude towards Alma and her staff. Simply amazing!! She is super nice, also making the entire process stress-free. I had some last minute issues with decorations, she made some suggestions and everything was fine. Between her and Silvia tending to our needs during the event... it was just amazing. Everyone was soo nice and professional and attentive. I'm just so happy we decided to go with The Villa and their staff. Kudos to the chef as well. The food is unbelievable!!! I'm so grateful to God for having been able to do our vow renewal at this place!!!

My wife and I got married at the Villa in November 2015, and we literally can't say enough good things about the Villa and Catering By Uptown. Our coordinator, Shonda, was simply amazing, and made the whole experience so much easier. The service and responsiveness we got from Catering by Uptown was wonderful, and it was clear they bent over backwards for us. The food was very good, and a good value. The staff at the wedding were professional and diligent.

We had our wedding reception at The Villa in Beltsville. My husband and I were extremely happy with the Villa and their assistance in planning our wedding reception. They were extremely friendly and so flexible. We asked if they would cook some Polish food for the cocktail hour and they did! I provided them with a recipes and they cooked pierogi and bigos (hunter's stew). They have an enormous selection of food for cocktail and dinner. The same with linen and plate selection. My husband and I attended the food tasting left so full from all the delicious food. The planning team was prompt in responding to my numerous emails- especially closer to the wedding day, when our guest count kept changing and so did our seating arrangement. They also followed all of my instructions in placement of certain decorations like my Polish welcome signs or Polish poster for the sweetheart table. The day of the wedding, I was able to text with my day of coordinator, Joe to let him that we were going to be late and he kept me relaxed by letting me know our guests are taken care of. We rented the entire place, so even though the facility does not have a bridal suite, we were able to use the tent as our bridal suite. Throughout the reception, Joe made sure that my husband and I didn't need anything, and if I asked for anything- it was done immediately. The staff kept checking on my husband and I and making sure we eat. My guests complimented us on the wonderful reception and the food. I could tell that everyone did have a great time. Thank you The Villa for making our wedding a fun and unforgettable day :)

This venue was a great place to hold our reception. As the bride I didn't have to worry about anything happening during the reception. The "day of" coordinator came and tapped my shoulder when I needed to do the next thing, like cut the cake or dance with my father. It was great to just focus on having fun without missing important moments.
