We could not have asked for a more beautiful, perfect venue- but that’s almost beside the point. Even more importantly, the venue manager and staff made our wedding happen in the middle of a once in 1000 year storm (Hurricane Helene). We maintained power and access- and so Tracy, Tuck, Abby, Murphy, and Anna did everything in their power to help our big day go on. They played every role possible, covering for our vendors who were unable to make it and working seamlessly with the vendors who did without any cell phone service, gps, or reliable wifi. Plans changed, and changed again. And they kept adapting and helping us through.
Without mentioning specifics, the way they showed up for our wedding weekend showed the most incredible hospitality and humanity. It turned out to be an amazing event in spite of all that was going on around us. Many of our family and friends who were already in the area and able to safely get to the property said it was the most beautiful and memorable wedding they’ve ever been to. This is due in large part to Tracy and her team.
We could not recommend this venue more! If you’re seeking a breathtaking estate with the best rain plan imaginable and people who will bend over backward to make your dream a reality, book your wedding here. Thank you, VBC!

From beginning to end this venue went above and beyond our expectations. We knew choosing our venue was going to be the most important step of our wedding planning as it was to set the tone for our "destination wedding". My fiance lived in FL at the time and I had always vacationed in the WNC area and knew that's where we had to get married!
We chose to get married during Memorial Day weekend at the end of May and locked in the venue last February. We have been in contact with Tracy at the venue who has been nothing short of amazing in helping with all our planning. From providing us with all the info we could possibly need for the venue to helping us choose vendors in the area and of course all that she did with her team the weekend of our wedding.
We did not have to worry about anything with Tracy and her team on Memorial Day weekend 2024; if I needed help at check in to hang my dress (because I'm too short), her staff was there to help, if we had two extra people show up for our rehearsal dinner they were quick to set up a table (without it interrupting our event), if there was an unexpected 5 minute rain shower, they were quick to change out the linen we had or wipe down seats and in such a way that our guests didn't even notice. Tracy set up the s'mores bar for when we wanted to have a hang out by the chimney, she made sure all the linens were in all our guest rooms at the lodge when they arrived, she made sure the trash was taken our and that our beds were turned down - but more than that it was the personal touches and the individual care she gave to our entire guest list and to the bride and groom that made the venue feel even more special.
The venue itself is beautiful - breathtaking. From the minute you turn down Betty's Creek till you get to the top where the lodge is! The mountains are ever-changing with the climate and the "smoke" that truly enhance all your pictures and make your guests feel like they are celebrating in the clouds. The vineyards are well taken care of and there are so many places and hidden gems on the property for guests and the bride and groom to take pictures!
We are so lucky that our dates were available (book early!!) and that we had the support of the entire staff at Betty's Creek for our event. We can't imagine saying our "I do's" anywhere else. We will definitely be back to visit when we are in the area!
First off, the bad reviews are old and under a different manager. A more updated review:
When my wife and I walked through this venue, we instantly knew this was the place. The value of having the venue to yourself all weekend, plus the spectacular beauty of it all made it an easy decision.
Being able to have our closest family and bridal party stay on site, having our rehearsal dinner, wedding and next day brunch at the venue, and not having to worry about the logistics of packing in and out on our wedding day, made our experience at Betty’s significantly less stressful than many of our friend’s weddings. It is such a huge relief to have all your functions and getting ready on the day of, all at one place.
Tracy was an absolute pleasure to deal with and her entire staff did an amazing job. We are beyond pleased with our experiences here and would highly recommend this venue.
If you are thinking about booking any other place besides the Vineyards at Betty's Creek for your wedding, please do not. Betty's Creek is literally a dream come true. The moment that my now husband and I set foot on this property for our first tour, we knew that this had to be where we got married. First off, you get it for the entire weekend. This is a huge plus for many reasons, but for me, I valued this because it meant that I did not have to worry about getting ready somewhere else in town, having to prepare a list of things to bring and worrying about forgetting them, and not having to worry about packing everything up at the end of the wedding night. There is also a breathtaking lodge, where our close family members and MOH/best man got to stay for the whole weekend. The grounds itself are absolutely stunning and so versatile. Everything is well maintained and manicured, and all of the buildings are so clean. There are beautiful views everywhere, and I still cannot get over the fact that we were able to stay at this oasis for an entire weekend. We loved getting married on the ceremony lawn, then having cocktail hour at the lodge terrace, then our reception at the pavilion. We got married in June, and everything was so beautiful and lush. So many guests proclaimed how extraordinary this venue was. Finally, the staff here is amazing. Tracy is the venue manager and she is extremely helpful, sweet, and easy to communicate with. There are thoughtful touches from the staff - they helped guests get around with golf carts and even left a sweet surprise in the honeymoon cottage (yes, did I mention that there is even a honeymoon cottage which is separate from the lodge where the couple can stay at). Our wedding was the best night of our lives, and this venue is 100% what helped make it happen. I could go on and on about this venue, but I wanted to share one my favorite memories. I woke up Sunday morning after only sleeping a few hours because I was still buzzing from our wedding. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. I opened the window to the honeymoon cottage and was listening to the trees rustle in the wind and just felt so thankful we had our wedding here.
We got married at The Vineyards at Betty's Creek and it was absolutely the most beautiful, magical place for us to share our special day with each other and our family and friends! The grounds of the venue are just stunning. The huge house on the property (The Lodge) is included with the rental for the weekend and was gorgeous, well renovated, lots of bathrooms and had stunning views. We had the bridesmaids stay there for the weekend and this is where the bride and bridesmaids got ready for the wedding. We also had the rehearsal dinner on the back patio area of that house where there is a gorgeous mountain view!! It was perfect. The ceremony was on the lawn where they have a nice arbor set up permanently and was well shaded. It is very close to the Honeymoon Cottage (Betty's Cellar) where my husband and I stayed on the wedding night and it was such a cute little cottage feel and woke up to a view of our wedding ceremony site. There was a groom's barn where the groomsmen hung out and got ready prior to the ceremony. The reception was at The Pavillon, which was a perfect venue site for our band, tables to seat 160 people comfortably, a buffet table, dessert table, dance floor, it has a built in bar. The huge chandeliers in there were gorgeous, there is a stunning mountain view from the bump out on the Pavillon which is where the dance floor was. Our guests were stunned by the views, the venue and the grounds on the property. We have had so many people tell us how beautiful it was but also how much fun the venue was! It was also really fun to have the whole property for the whole weekend and have my bridesmaids stay on the property too. Tracy, the venue manager, was fantastic. She was so helpful throughout the entire planning process, gave so much information off the bat in writing as to what the amenities offered, the extensive inventory list of equipment on site that are included with the property rental, helpful hints and tips and recommendations. She was so nice and professional the whole time, quick to respond to emails and calls. She was a huge asset to the planning of this wedding! She was generous with letting me visit the property about 3-4 times during the planning process. She found a tiny bracelet that I had lost while I was there and saved it for my mom to come get! She is the best! Thank you for everything, Tracy!!! If you are interested in a Western NC wedding, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND VBC!!! Had the best time! Already can't wait to visit again someday!
Recently married here, spectacular venue. Pictures don’t do this place justice. All the cabins are immaculately decorated. Each walk around the property you discover more and more beautiful touches everywhere. Main lodge, pavilion, honeymoon cabin, groomsmen cabin...it’s all setup perfectly to pull off an unforgettable wedding. Staff is top notch.
When we first pulled up to the venue on a cold, wet, winter day we knew this was THE place! When we pulled up in August we were blown away even though we had seen pics! The beauty of this place has to be experienced. I cannot tell you how many guests went on and on about it being the most beautiful wedding venue they'd ever been to. We were at the lodge for 3 days, and the experience passed way too quickly! Tracy (the venue manager) was a dream to work with and made our experience absolute perfection. We truly didn't want to leave. If you want an absolute magical wedding for you or your daughter look no further!
Saying we loved Betty’s Creek for our wedding doesn’t even tip the iceberg on how much we really did LOVE it. From the get-go, Tracy was so helpful, friendly, professional, even referring the bakery who made our cake. We had a small elopement wedding and she had some great ideas about where to hold the ceremony if it rained, which it did. We went to meet her a few days before and she showed us around and pointed out all the beautiful locations to take pictures. Well, everything at the vineyard from Betty’s Cellar to the bridge, the arbor, the vines…. it’s all absolutely breathtaking. Small, large, medium, whatever your wedding party is, Betty’s Creek is the place to go.
We visited several venues in NC and DC before landing at Betty's Creek, and we were immediately won over by the waterfalls, flowers, lush greenery, and butterflies. The venue is beyond beautiful and the staff is responsive and experienced. Tracy, the venue manger, is a pleasure to work with. She was always quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions before our wedding weekend. When we were there, she made sure everything was operating smoothly behind the scenes, and the rest of the staff were all polite and quick to help. All of our friends and family felt well taken care of and at ease. Our family especially liked staying on-site, and The Lodge was well-equipped and a great home base for all of our needs. We had a blast at our dream wedding and honestly could not have asked for more!
I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful location than Betty’s Creek! My guests were in awe and even though it rained, they all agreed it couldn’t have been more perfect. Everything was gorgeous and Tracy and the staff went above and beyond to help. The cabin and the lodge were amazing as well. I was only sad we couldn’t stay longer!
The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek was a stunning venue! Tracy (Venue Manager) and her Team did an exceptional job taking care of our family for our granddaughter’s wedding. Tracy and her Team were professional and accommodating ensuring everything was perfect. The venue, itself, is simply stunning. The lodge and pavilion are just beautiful. The setting at Betty’s Creek affords privacy but also an intimate feeling. Truly a remarkable gem in the beautiful NC mountains!!
The Vineyard's at Betty's Creek is a magnificent wedding venue. We knew from first look that this was the perfect place for our daughter's wedding Tracy was so helpful in showing us around the property and explaining all the options available for the rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony ad reception and the brunch. While making suggestions she was also quite open to any other ideas we had. During the wedding planning process we continued to communicate with Tracy with our questions and she always offered a helpful response. She allowed us to come back and view the property several times to help us as we planned decor and table settings. Wedding weekend was perfect. Tracy was spot on with everything we needed and even helped us find babysitters for some of the children for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding...and the girls who babysat were amazing. Tracy always knew what we needed and was several steps ahead of us throughout the weekend. She even tracked the weather and came to let my daughter know her options for the ceremony since radar was showing a shower around the time of the ceremony. Our guests gushed over the venue and and the wedding weekend and how smoothly everything went. Many of them said it was the prettiest spot for a wedding they had seen. Bottom line - we would not change anything....venue is amazing and Tracy and all her staff were equally amazing. Thank you Betty's Creek and Tracy and team for fulfilling our daughter's dream wedding.
I got married at The Vineyards in February 2017 and it was perfect. Nothing can beat the views and accommodations, and our pictures turned out so magical. Tracy was lovely to work with - she really went above and beyond to meet our needs. From the moment I toured the property I knew it was where I wanted to get married, and I genuinely think picking this venue was the easiest part of my wedding planning. Cannot recommend enough.
My daughter was married at The Vineyards at Betty's CreekTracy on June 24, 2017. The venue is absolutely stunning with beautiful mountain views, gorgeous landscapes and a five bedroom, five bath lodge that is spectacular! Betty's Creek was the first and only venue we visited. We booked it over a year before the wedding date because my daughter and her fiancé knew there was no need to look further.....Tracy and her team were a delight to work with. Tracy got right back to me with any and every question I had. The team went above and beyond to help and always with a smile. The day of the wedding was perfect and magical! Everything that had been promised was executed beautifully! Thank-you Tracy, Bobby and the team for making this a day we will forever cherish!!!
As a planner, I have seen, met, and worked with multiple different venues and their staff over the years. From this perspective, I think there are two critical things to know about this venue: first, the website does not do it justice. It looks pretty on the website, but when you actually get to that venue it is something else entirely. It really is a special place and that you immediately get a feeling of tranquility. Secondly, rarely do you find someone so committed to a couple's happiness as their events manager Tracy. She continued to impress me with how much she went above and beyond every step of the way. From investing in new tables for my bride and thinking of logistics like lighting for hair and makeup, to running around the day of and doing everything possible to make things go smoothly, she was 100% impressive, dedicated, and passionate about making that day perfect. Easily top 5% of event venue managers I have worked with. All in all, I found the venue and the experience in planning with them to be absolutely phenomenal .
This place is absolutely gorgeous, and Tracy is pretty great, and very laid back. While I appreciate that aspect of her, at the same time, her sense of urgency in correspondence and follow-through is a bit lacking. Over-all, the location, energy/vibe, and execution was what we wanted, but the slight lapse in professionalism in regards to communication is a bit of a draw-back. Still, as the 4-star indicates, "Fantastic, a solid option," but not "Wow, the best ever!"
I have called and left messaged and emailed for at least 2 weeks. I'm taking it as a sign to not have my destination wedding here but it's sad since they are a beautiful venue. Just a heads up for anyone trying to plan a destination wedding, they are terrible with communication!
Having not seen the venue before we began the wedding weekend I was unsure what to expect. I was over joyed for the bride and groom. The venue is spectacular and Tracy and her staff is the bow on the package. Anything the bride and groom or the rest of the wedding party needed they were right there...and seemed happy to assist. We made memories that will last a lifetime!
We had our wedding here a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely perfect. The new pavilion is a great addition to an already beautiful site. We would highly recommend getting the venue for the whole weekend, as it provides a great rehearsal dinner spot as well. Tracy was great and super easy to work with. She did a great job in the days before the event, as well as the weekend of.
We got married at this venue and were amazed by its beauty and lush setting. We looked at over 40 venues in the area & this one was the best.
This grounds, buildings, and new pavilion are truly spectacular, and we have heard from countless guests it was the prettiest wedding they have ever been to. Our crowd is mostly from the Bay Area in CA and NYC, so they are pretty tough to impress, and they really loved it.
We loved working with new venue manager, Tracy, and found her to be effective and professional, sweet, and responsive.
We had a beautiful wedding weekend at Betty's Creek. The staff was great to work with and Tracy bent over backwards to make things perfect. She even ironed 90 napkins on site for our rehearsal dinner! The beauty of this place is unmatched.
We were so blown away by VBC from the very start. The property is absolutely stunning and hard to beat! Julie Sylvester (who is sadly on her way out) was our go-to throughout the whole process. Julie is a pro and definitely knows her stuff! She was easy and helpful to work with during the whole process. We visited the property many times prior to the big day and this was never difficult to arrange with Julie. We decided to rent the property for the entire weekend, and are so glad that we did! My family came in from out of town and were all able to stay in the lodge. They were blown away by their accommodations and loved staying there! We had our rehearsal dinner on the property as well, which was a nice touch. The day of the wedding, myself and my bridesmaids had a nice comfortable place to get ready, as well as the groom and his groomsmen. We had some difficult weather to deal with on our wedding day... It was a July afternoon in the mountains. Julie and her staff did everything in their power to help our vision of having our ceremony outside with the arbor possible. Unfortunately just as the wedding party got down the aisle and it was time for me to make my stroll, the rain poured! The VBC staff broke into action and carted/bussed all guests and wedding party up the hill to the reception site where our rain plan ceremony was already set up and waiting. One of the owners, Lee, was on property the day of our event. He was so good to us the whole day. He saved the girls by removing some wasps that had snuck in our room while we had the windows open, he drove myself and my mom up the hill to our new ceremony site discreetly so no guests or the groom could see me in his own vehicle, and he drove myself and the groom to where we needed to take pictures. I never worried about a single detail the whole day. Looking back on our day, I would never change a thing, including the rain mishap. Everyone that attended the wedding had so much fun and loved being on the property! Everyone was so amazed by the beauty of the venue! We could have gotten married anywhere, but we are so beyond thankful to have gotten married at the Vineyards at Betty's Creek! I can't thank the staff enough for everything they did for us and helping to make our day more than we could have imagined!
The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek wedding venue is absolutely breathtaking. I’ve been there now during a couple of seasons and during various weather patterns. I’m convinced that there is no bad day on this property. I want to thank the owners for sharing this space for our daughter’s and son in law’s special day. From the first time we walked onto the property we knew this was the place.
Julie is the venue manager and has been a delight to work with. She is organized and very experienced in wedding planning. She worked flawlessly with our Wedding Planner and wasn’t shy about letting us know what she’s seen work and not work. We appreciated all of the advice and felt like we had two professionals working to make our day special. It wasn’t her job as venue manager but she didn’t let that stop her. Julie let us know early on about the risks of having an outside ceremony. The fruitwood chairs are beautiful but not water resistant so if we choose that we needed to be prepared that the chairs would need to be covered during rain. Weather is one of those uncontrollable situations that you have to make the best of. When we looked at the property, the pavilion had not yet been built. It turned out to be way more than what we expected. Absolutely gorgeous and the catering kitchen was a dream for our caterers! Now we could have a great back up plan for every part of the wedding without renting costly tents. We had a walk through three weeks prior to the wedding with Julie, our planner and the caterer. This was a perfect opportunity to nail down the details. The new website page for contracted events is great to have all of the information in one place. She’s prepared Q & A’s, accommodations and things to do, along with the details of the tables etc. that go along with the rental of the space.
On the day of the wedding, we were all caught up in the preparations but Julie was keeping her eye on the weather. Her husband was at home watching the radar and because she knew it was important to the couple to have an outside ceremony, she helped move us along so that we had the ceremony before it started to rain. We really appreciated this diligence. All of our guests were safely under the new pavilion before it started to rain, which added to the ambience. The venue has two golf carts to move people from one area to the other. She let us know that right off the bat. We had about 60 guests and this wasn’t a problem but you have to plan how those carts should be used. If the photographer whisks the bride and groom away for photos, you will only have one cart to move your guests. Not a problem though, there was room in the parking lot by the pavilion for our guests to drive up if they wanted, since we had a small wedding. Julie was very sweet to keep an eye out for my 90-year-old father. She reserved the first ride up to the pavilion for him. After the rain, a double rainbow appeared, which was absolutely perfect!
The comments from our guests said it all. This was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and probably would ever go to. We selected the weekend package, which added to the family experience. Sarah and Drew said it was the best weekend of their lives. You can’t get any better than that. Thanks to all at the Vineyard – the entire staff for making this an amazing wedding.
We were married at The Vineyards at Betty's Creek on May 7, 2016, and I cannot fathom why they would only have one star on The Knot. That bride must be a horrible bridezilla. I can't say enough good things about VBC & especially their manager, Julie Sylvester. Of all the venues we toured in WNC none of the others came close to rivaling the rustic elegance and beauty of VBC. I seriously wish I could live there! Every building on the property is decorated to perfection. The grounds are lush & green, with ponds & creeks running throughout & flowers everywhere. We got TONS compliments on the setting; with the beauty of the property & the fantastic view of the Smoky Mountains you barely need decorations.
I can't give a review without mentioning the venue manager, Julie, who is FANTASTIC. Julie is professional, organized and a complete pleasure to work with. She & her staff were so helpful during both the planning process & the day of the wedding, to the point that I felt like I had a second wedding planner. Julie went above and beyond to help us prepare the day of... she carted me around in her SUV so I didn't have to walk, she drove into town to pick up a gluten-free meal for one of our guests, and she even let us borrow some of her own personal cocktail tablecloths. Our wedding wouldn't have gone as perfectly as it did without her. She is also clearly respected by the other vendors in the area, and has great working relationships with them all. Also, she's just SO nice :)
I could honestly go on forever about how wonderful VBC is and how much I loved it, but I'll just finish by saying that if you're getting married in NC you absolutely cannot do better than VBC! Go check it out, you won't regret it!
I will start off by saying the beauty of the Vineyards at Bettys Creek is by far the most breathtaking of any venue I've ever visited. If I were to give a review just based on this fact, it would deserve a 5 star. We were very happy with our choice of picking this venue for our wedding based on the setting alone. That being said, if you are wanting a seamless experience with a professional team, they get one star and that it one too many. I work for a corporate business that caters to customer service and am still baffled at the poor running of this operation. The one key factor is that of the venue director Julie Sylvester. When we initially toured the venue the main pavilion was not built, it was at the ground breaking stages. We were sold on this beautiful picturesque outdoor setting for our ceremony. Julie in addition to being the director of the venue has her own wedding coordinating/planning business on the side and of course offers her services. The venue requires you to have a day of coordinator for your wedding day. I chose to use a recommendation from a friend on a different coordinator and once this was revealed everything was a bumpy road. We hit a wall in almost every direction. My "final" day walk through was a joke and wasted trip. The week prior to my wedding emails were sent asking questions my planner had already sent and questions that should of been settled at final walk through. They were not on the venues format and needed to be re sent. The venues format was never seen until this request. It was obvious that either Julie wasn't organized or she was creating issues that were not needed. We rented the venue the whole weekend so that we could hold our rehearsal dinner Friday evening and give me time to decorate. Simple things like table placement was a nightmare. Julie was very difficult to work with and even her staff could feel the tension of her control. There is a blurred line between the client getting what they want and Julie needing control.
The day of was a nightmare when we realized there were only 2 golf carts on hand to be used to transport 85 guest back and forth to ceremony site. We were promised there would be plenty of carts and staff to valet guest back and forth. This was a huge miss as we had quite a few elderly guest. Because there were only 2 the bridal party and photographers had no use of them so taking pictures on the venue grounds meant we were all on foot. Usually this is not an issue, but when you have guys in suits and bridesmaids in heals...you can imagine the problems. Everyone trooped through. My day of planner had to jump in her car to escort us around as well as later had to help drive guest up and down to ceremony site. The venue day of point person was a complete wreck. Very unorganized. Her delivery was also lacking. The forecast was at a 20% chance of rain and was being pushy for us to move our ceremony. It did end up with a light rain, but stopped completely as ceremony started. During this spell she was freaking out about chairs getting wet. All to finally offer that they could be covered and my guests ended up helping remove them and put them back out. It's very sad that such a beautiful place has such an unprofessional team.
