Our wedding was originally planned for April 2020, but we ended up having to reschedule twice due to COVID. William Grace at The Westin Annapolis was always so responsive and so professional, and he helped make everything happen. We had both our ceremony and reception in the Capitol Ballroom (had about 150 guests day of, original wedding planned for 250). It was set up so nicely and the room flip during cocktail hour was seamless. William and the incredible reception staff made sure everything flowed so well, and the food was really delicious. There was also another wedding happening in their other ballroom, but we wouldn't have had any idea if we didn't see the other couple leaving for their ceremony at one point! William is so good at his job and really makes you feel like you're the only couple he's working with. We were really happy with our wedding at The Westin Annapolis and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great downtown Annapolis wedding celebration.
The Westin & William Grace were absolutely a DREAM to work with. We began looking for venues last June (2015) for a summer 2016 wedding and quickly realized that Annapolis venues were nearly booked. After submitting multiple venue requests throughout Annapolis, we visited the Westin and instantly fell in love. The venue is absolutely beautiful, the food was FANTASTIC and our wedding coordinator at the Westin was truly what made our experience 10 out of 5 stars.
To say William Grace was perfect would be an understatement. Being a bride who took on the role of not hiring a wedding planner, I quickly realized why people pay so much money for one. However, William was the perfect addition to all of my planning needs. An email to him never goes unanswered and even better, is usually answered in less than 5 minutes. He answered all of my out of the blue questions and even helped me to create a wedding timeline for our wedding weekend. William coordinated with all of the vendors and each one had nothing but outstanding things to say about how professional and timely he was and how he went out of his way to assure all aspects of our wedding were beyond our expectations. I could list all of the other tasks that William helped me with, but the list would go well past the allowed character amount of this review.
If you are thinking about having your wedding at the Westin, do it! It was honestly the best decision we made. Also -- splurge for the draping of the ballroom. When William told us in the beginning that it was a complete transformation, we didn't realize just how true that was. Simple draping with uplighting made the room look absolutely stunning.
For our passed appetizers, we had the brie/raspberry, crab wontons, steak skewers, and mini crab cakes. We also chose the vegetable display over the cheese display for personal preference even though they both sounded amazing! For our meal we had the stuffed chicken breast, grilled asparagus and risotto, all of which our guests raved about. The Westin also offers a vegetarian option and a kids option, both of which the guests raved about as well.
The Westin, and mainly William Grace, made all of my wedding dreams come true. When you let William use his fabulous designing skills and guide you in the direction of your vision, you will have a wedding that you thought was only in your dreams. We are forever grateful for William for going above and beyond for us & know that he will be a lifetime friend.

Any questions?
Out of all the vendors I worked with, The Westin Annapolis was by far the most difficult, and unfortunately the most disappointing.
Pros- The food was excellent, and the hotel location and natural decor are truly beautiful.
Cons- With any wedding, small pieces of the day don't go as planned, however, the Westin went beyond that understanding.
-The Westin sold me on the fact that they can handle large weddings. Once we booked The Westin as our venue, it felt like it was there first time handling a big wedding (about 380 people).
- I was met with constant resistance throughout the planning process instead of them trying to make things work.
- When an particular issue came up, instead of finding solutions within themselves, they persisently came to me to spend more finances. It took months of back and forth of remaining firm and saying no. It was exhausting!
- The Westin admitted did not have enough staff to properly service my wedding as there was another wedding simultaneously occurring that day/evening. As a result, certain things we planned to have for our guests were not setup timely and properly.
- The Westin staff (even management) actually lost their composure and cursed at some of our guests (the Father of the Groom being one of these guests). Yikes!!!
- The Westin staff told guests that they did not have time to setup the snack/drink food station. This was in the contract to do so. This was so disappointing and embarrassing!
A couple days after the wedding, The Westin sincerely apologized for their behavior and the mistakes made, and kindly offered free nights in addition to reducing some expenses.
Too little too late in my opinion, however :/
FINAL TAKEAWAY:
The Westin Annapolis is a beautiful venue in a great location, but if you want to save yourself some stress throughout the planning process and on the wedding day, look elsewhere for a venue.
The Venue is very nice, I had trouble with the rooms in the beginning. they changed me the wedding planner 2 weeks before of my event, even that I went to talked with her to update details, there were some details that she missed and also She left before of the event finished. They had 5 events the same day and everyone was running.
I am so happy that my fiance and I decided to book with The Westin. I never really wanted a hotel venue when I first started my search. After looking at a few places and coming up empty handed, I decided to check out The Westin. I was BLOWN AWAY. Hope, the coordinator was one of the most responsive coordinators I dealt with throughout my search. Any questions my parents or I had, she answered same day almost every time. The food was so delicious also, and the staff made sure my fiance and I got to eat. Alicia was our waitress for the cocktail hour and the reception for my fiance and I and The Westin should do whatever it takes to keep her around. Between her, Hope, and Michael in security, I had the most amazing day of my life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Thank you so much for your fabulous review. We loved being a part of your amazing day. We wish your entire family all the best.
This was the choice hotel of our guests. Close to the bridal house we rented, in a great location to downtown Annapolis, and reasonable parking cost. Our guests loved staying here.
The whole process of planning and hosting my reception at the Westin was wonderful from start to finish. I didn't have a wedding planner, but our Catering Manager, Nicole, was phenomenal and helped us with absolutely everything. The venue is beautiful and new and the food was delicious. All of my guests were truly wowed by the entire event and the Westin itself.
Going with a hotel for your reception space is the best idea if you planning a wedding by yourself. The staff is very helpful and hands on. Your rental items will be cut to almost zero which saves you money. The price per person upfront may look scary but you don't need outside catering, flatware, chairs, linen or dancefloor. All costs that can add up quickly. We did have 3+ catering contacts at the hotel which changed and made us very uneasy. The dance floor also came apart half way through the evening and guests thought that the hotel was trying to get people to leave when they started taking it apart more to put it back together. However William, the Catering Director made up for it in every way in the end. Fabulous night.
I just had my wedding at the Westin Annapolis this past Saturday and all I can say is WOW! Everything was absolutely perfect and I could not be happier with the service provided by the Westin. The attention to detail in setting up for the wedding was incredible - everything was exactly how I requested and the ballroom looked absolutely gorgeous. In addition, the food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. I worked with William Grace in coordinating my wedding, and he did a fabulous job. He was responsive, creative with solving any problems that arose, and flexible in meeting all of my requests. He also worked very well with the "day of" coordinator I hired in helping the day go smoothly. I also had many of my guests stay in the Westin, and Jeff Clark and Donna Flynn did an amazing job in coordinating our room block. Many of my guests told me that my wedding was the best they've ever been to, and everyone had a blast! I should also mention that I found the pricing for the Westin to be very reasonable, given all that you receive in the per person price (linens, chairs, food, alcohol, etc.). All in all I could not be happier with my decision to have my wedding at the Westin Annapolis!!!
I can't say enough about the staff at this hotel. From the sales person Jeff, to the person I spent a great deal of time talking to, Donna Flynn, to the valet staff and everyone else, everyone was truly amazing. Every guest that I talked to that had talked to any of these people was met with graciousness and helpfulness. Having worked in luxury hotels for a number of years I had pretty high expectations~all of those expectations were surpassed.
In addition, the location to downtown, availability of the trolley and the proximity to a couple of restaurants made it a wonderful experience for our guests and for us to spend as much time as possible with them.
Even the day after the wedding the housekeeping staff that had been cleaning our room asked if I would run back and get my dress to show them.
It's really a great, attentive and hospitable team. Would recommend it in a heart beat.
Only minor thing was that I had to tell a couple of our guests to go back and ask for a welcome bag when they didn't receive them at check-in. Not a huge deal.
They say that the first step in planning a wedding is to secure the venue. I am so glad that I followed this rule and went to see the Westin. The Westin helped to make my wedding as perfect as my wedding could be. There are so many reasons that the Westin was such a vital element to the wedding.
First and foremost the staff are lovely and great to work with. I worked with Laura Fosler who is so nice, responsive, and organized. I emailed her so so many times to confirm details and menus and she was so helpful and tolerant throughout the whole process. The rest of the staff at the hotel were also fantastic.
The hotel is located pretty close to downtown, so guests can take the complimentary shuttle to the heart of downtown. There is a spa/hair salon across the street from the hotel, as well as some shops, and restaurants. There is city parking right under the hotel which is great for guests. The hotel itself is gorgeous, very modern, clean, and stylized. The rooms as well are gorgeous and impressive.
We had a few issues with the room booking process, some of our guests when making their reservations were told a rate that was not the "wedding rate" which we were guaranteed. We also had an issue with some credit cards for certain rooms. Overall the good aspects outweighed the bad, and these were the only issues that arose throughout the 11 months of planning.
The ballroom is gorgeous, the lighting/chandeliers are very unique. Often ballrooms can seem impersonal, too large, and impersonal, but I really loved the ballroom at the Westin.
The food. When we first went to the Westin to view the venue we showed up an hour early and decided to have lunch at the restaurant Azure. The lunch was delicious, fresh, and gave me tons of hope for the food which would be served at the wedding. The food at the wedding was amazing. We had crab cakes (a Maryland staple) and many of our Maryland local guests raved about how delicious they were. I've received the compliment that they were "the best crab cakes" ever from multiple guests. People were also in love with the oysters. So many compliments!! Everyone loved the oysters - all my New Yorker guests could not stop talking about the oysters!
The bakery that the Westin uses for their wedding cakes is AWESOME as well. Sweet bakery made the most delicious and beautiful cake for my wedding. I want to order a cake from them, just to eat on my own - by myself!
The Westin was such a huge part of the wedding. I am so happy decided to have my wedding at the Westin - best decision that I made regarding the wedding (other than choosing my husband!) I will never forget how perfect the Westin made my wedding - I'm so happy with how it turned out.
The Westin was absolutely amazing. Laura Fosler and Cathy Sandler are great and very responsive--they helped me out quite a bit. Everyone RAVED about the food, which doesn't always happen at a wedding. They take care of everything--I didn't worry about a thing on the day of the wedding.
