Debra couldn’t have been any better at making our day perfect!! The venue itself was beautiful and setup went off without a hitch! Debra made sure we had everything we needed from our very first email all the way to the day after the wedding. She handled so many small details that we would have never thought of and really made our wedding and reception a day we will never forget. All of the staff were extremely professional and helpful throughout the night, keeping our guests fed and drinks full all night. We are so grateful to everyone at the Westin for walking us through the process and making our event really personal and unique!

The Westin was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t have picked a better resort to have our wedding reception. We’ve received so many compliments from guests regarding the service, cleanliness, and food! Debra, the event manager, was so helpful and professional throughout our entire wedding planning time. She answered our emails in a timely manner and was very considerate with all of our requests. We would definitely be back to the Westin for weekend getaways!

Wow this venue is stunning! We were outside for the ceremony and cocktail hour then inside for the reception. Bar was fast and professional, views were gorgeous, and the space is very private. This is a remarkable venue. Oh...and the food was very very high quality and delicious.

My Wife and I had our wedding at The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa and it was an amazing experience! Both our ceremony and reception were at the Westin. The ceremony was outside overlooking the ocean while the reception was inside in the atrium. We couldn't have asked for anything better. It was all very beautiful! The staff was extremely professional and courteous. We had all of our needs taken care of and then some. We're very grateful to have Debra as our event coordinator who was there from day one. Debra was very responsive and considerate to our needs throughout the whole process. We also would like to thank our wedding coordinator Alex. Her coordinator services were provided as part of the package. She walked us through the ceremony the day before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything and everyone was in their place from the decorations to the vendors. Lastly, I would like to thank Jeremiah for being so attentive and making sure the whole day went smooth. Right after the ceremony, he had two drinks waiting for me and my wife. He even saved the day when my bow tie wouldn't clip because of a broken hook. He used his MacGyver skills to fashion a hook with a paperclip. I highly recommend The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa for anyone looking to make their event a special one. Not only is the entire venue beautiful, but they have gorgeous views of the beach, a professional staff, and delicious food. You can't go wrong with them.

I am so happy we chose the Westin Hotel for my daughter’s wedding, it was a beautiful site for her special day, and everything ran so smoothly, thanks to Elizabeth Murphy and her staff, and I would highly recommend it for your wedding or special event. The Westin Carlsbad Resort was the perfect venue for my daughter’s wedding! We visited the Westin in the Summer of 2017, (when it was still the Sheraton Hotel) and met with Elizabeth Murphy, the catering manager. She showed us the sites available for outdoor wedding ceremonies, photographs, outdoor receptions and ballrooms for a formal indoor reception. After looking over everything included in their wedding packages, we booked the next day for a wedding in September 2018. Because my daughter is living on the East Coast, as mother of the bride, I did much of the planning here in California. Elizabeth Murphy is the kindest, and most patient person, as she was always available to answer my questions and make recommendations! She arranged a “meal- tasting” about 2 months before the wedding and went over all the options available: table linen colors, tables sizes and room set-up, as well as how the Wedding Day would unfold. If you want something special, she knows what works and what doesn’t and how to make it happen. The day of the wedding, Elizbeth was on site at the hotel to make sure everything was set up as we had requested, periodically checking-in with us to see if we had any concerns or needed help with anything. She even stayed through the ceremony to make sure there were no problems. The ceremony on the Ocean Blue Lawn was beautiful, and the cocktail hour on the adjacent lawn was picture-perfect. The Ballroom was beautifully set with round tables, white linens, china, and tealights, that enhanced our centerpieces! The dinner was delicious and served efficiently and professionally. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food! We chose to serve Wild Mushroom Risotto, Eggplant Parmesan, or Herbed Chicken, and those with dietary restrictions were served a suitable meal without a problem. A Coffee Bar was set up next to the Pastry Table, and guests also commented on how fun the Coffee Bar was; coffee, chocolate, and whipped cream! I also want to add that if you are having hair and make-up done and have a large wedding party, the Presidential Suite offers plenty of room for hair and make-up stations, as well as couches for relaxing, and a large dining table for a light lunch or snack. The room has a balcony that enables you to have natural light for make up application, as well as a beautiful view of the Westin property and the ocean! I am so happy we chose the Westin Carlsbad Resort, it is the perfect place for your Wedding or special event! .

The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa was the most perfect venue for our Wedding Day! Elizabeth Murphy is an absolute dream to work with and was a huge support every step of the way. Our Ceremony and Reception took place in their brand new event space and it was STUNNING!! I have lived in San Diego my whole life and have never seen Event Space this beautiful. Not only was the view amazing but we received impeccable service from the entire Westin Team. I highly recommend this Wedding Venue.

The Ocean View Lawn at the Westin was the perfect venue for our daughter's wedding reception. This beautiful outdoor venue was wonderful for dining and dancing under the stars. Everything looked gorgeous, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was very good. Elizabeth Murphy, the catering manager, was a pleasure to work with. She was professional, helpful, and very responsive. Another benefit of the Westin is that your guests can stay on the property for the weekend. A number of our guests did, and the feedback on the rooms was universally positive. I would highly recommend both the hotel and the wedding venue.

The Westin Carlsbad was an amazing venue to have our cocktail hour and reception! We had our cocktail hour on the terrace and the reception in the Atrium ballroom. We were one of the first weddings there! I planned the whole wedding from Chicago (without a full wedding coordinator). So you can imagine my stress. But, Elizabeth was great to work with. She is very professional, kind, and knows exactly how make the wedding day run smoothly. Our guests could not stop talking about the impeccable view of Carlsbad and the ocean as well as the amazing food! Another great thing about the venue is that the ballroom opens up to the terrace so technically the venue is a lot bigger which everyone loved. The only downfall I'd say is that other venues had chair options available. However they only had the banquet/conference chairs. I believe they ordered fancier Chiavari chairs but they did not come in time for our wedding, so we had to rent them. We also had to end at 11pm because of the city laws about noise (since it's part outdoor). If you're looking for a very classy ambience with ocean views, but a reasonable price then I would not hesitate to book the Westin Carlsbad. We had 250 guests at our wedding and every one has raved that it was the best wedding they've been to (and trust me- my family is brutally honest)! Our day was perfect and it truly was our dream wedding and everything we envisioned. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BEAUTIFUL VENUE. Thank you Elizabeth for all of your hard work! The Westin was an absolute dream venue for our wedding. It was one of the first places we toured and we ended up booking it on the spot when we got there and first met with Elizabeth Murphy. From the first day she was professional, helpful, and appeared to genuinely care about our wedding and helping us plan the perfect celebration. She worked well with our vendors and was promptly responsive to everyone on our wedding team. Planning our wedding in the middle of a move across the country was a breeze because of the incredible service this place has to offer. Also, pro tip: this is one of the few venues that allows you do do sparklers send-offs! The views from the Ocean Blue Lawn are gorgeous, and there are plenty of gorgeous spots for photos. The Grand Pacific Ballroom was HUGE and the food was phenomenal. The resort itself is conveniently located, and the rooms are newly remodeled. The newlywed suite we stayed in was gorgeous, I slept in the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in my life, and it was perfect for hosting family gatherings/getting ready for the big day. It fit 4 makeup artists, 2 hair stylists, 2 moms, 1 flower girl, and TEN bridesmaids, not to mention myself. We all got ready comfortably and the lighting and views made the morning so enjoyable and perfect for pictures and videos. Our family and friends especially enjoyed being conveniently located in the middle of the action with the affordable hotel room block, and we got so much extra time to visit with everyone throughout the weekend because of this. My wedding guests loved the amenities, kids and adults alike, namely the 24-hour swimming pool and water slide. I was able to burn off some extra energy at the huge and clean fitness center. Finally, we worked with Casey Shaul and Sarah Lewis to plan the perfect rehearsal dinner at 20/Twenty Grill, and our guests loved the food. Sarah was so accommodating to our needs, especially with last minute changes.

We’re so glad that we picked Westin to host our wedding. It’s a beautiful venue with 2 lawns to choose from depending on the size of your wedding size. Guests will get free valet parking, and the bride and groom will get a free suite on their wedding day. Sunset ballroom looks beautiful with new carpet, and all tables are well decorated with many color options of table cloth and napkin. I took 1 star off because the hotel chairs look business-like, so it’s recommended to rent chiavari chairs from our florist Excellent Design for great deal. We have our best DJ Pete Goslow; his music is beautiful, and he’s so awesome, nice, and pleasant to work with. Elizabeth Murphy is so wonderful with helping us and accommodatinf our needs throughout the wedding planning process.

They catered our 215-person Sunday wedding (ceremony and reception). They served plated dinners and were great refilling drinks when needed. All staff and bartenders were very friendly. They were timely with setup and allowed us to take our time tearing down. It was a great experience!

I have only positive things to say about the Westin Carlsbad! Elizabeth was so helpful during the entire planning process. I live out of state but chose this venue because of our love for San Diego. Elizabeth was attentive to my every need while planning a wedding from far away! She provided excellent recommendations and answered every e-mail and phone call, making the planning process seamless. Our guests were blown away by the beautiful ceremony lawn and ballroom area as well as the overall atmosphere of the resort during their stay in our guest block. It catered both to families with children and to couples who wanted a more intimate getaway. On the evening of our wedding, Elizabeth took the time to check in with us, congratulate us, and make sure we had everything we needed. After the wedding, we had multiple guests compliment the food. Some even shared that it was the best wedding food they had. They were also extremely accommodating for some of my guests who had strict dietary needs. It was the perfect venue for us, with very reasonable prices when it comes to weddings in San Diego. I cannot thank the entire staff of The Westin Carlsbad for making our special day so memorable!

We had the pleasure of the Westin opening a few weeks before our big fat Indian wedding on 8/18 (previously it was all Sheraton property until 7/2018) and everything was SPECTACULAR! I cannot thank Elizabeth Murphy and her team enough. For any wedding here, the best part of the Sheraton/Westin is that all your guests can stay on the property for the weekend and your wedding is on the same site, but still separate from where guests are staying so they aren't peeking in on your decorations the night before or intruding into your first look. The staff was incredibly helpful, they were accommodating with room changes leading up to the wedding, passed out welcome bags to over 70+ room bookings, helped set up decorations for our pre-wedding events, helped w/guests having breakfast/brunch in the Terramar Room in the Sheraton, and served ice cream on the day of the ceremony to our 350 guests (just to name a few of the things I really appreciated!). The property itself also has tons of great spaces for photos, and another wedding was happening on the Pacific Lawn and we had NO idea it was even occurring - that's how big the property is! Elizabeth was so amazing over the last year, with her quick replies to emails, her understanding of the Indian desire to negotiate costs, and her flexibility with our crazy ideas (from a giant sign with our names on it to a sparkler exit), she was the best. The ONLY constructive feedback I can think of is that the bridal/executive suite only had 1 mirror (on the day I needed to check myself out the most) - but really, even that's a stretch. For ANYONE thinking of having their wedding at the Westin, do not hesitate to do so! THANK YOU Elizabeth and the Westin Carlsbad!

Holy moly! Where to begin? Elizabeth Murphy at The Westin Carlsbad is a DOLL. From our initial tour a year beforehand, to helping throughout the process with diagrams of the layout (i.e. a legitimate drone photo taken of the site), recommendations for # people per table and photo locations, booking room reservations for us and our guests that weekend, menu tasting, and not to mention working through my absolute failure to communicate that our seating chart had changed the night before! I still feel horrible and wish I could give every staff member that night a giant hug for cleaning up after me and ensuring everyone was still served correctly ... especially those that were gluten-free weren't served the wrong plate! Elizabeth and the entire banquet team was kind, professional, and just amazing to work with. For the cost, it was absolutely worth every penny to us. We didn't have to worry about food, linens, tables, chairs, flatware, charger plates, drinkware -- they even provided decor like lanterns and votive candles! All we ended up renting was a dance floor and the chuppah from an outside vendor, and then we bought or made our own favors, signage, etc. We did add-on market lighting and the moon balloon from The Westin -- we and our guests LOVED it! It totally set the ambiance for the evening. Both our ceremony and reception were on the Ocean Blue lawn + terrace and it accommodated 100 guests perfectly. We used the smaller lawn for lawn games + belly table, the terrace for the cocktail hour and shade, and the larger lawn for the ceremony and reception. It felt super roomy and gave people enough space to move around and enjoy themselves! That ocean view and sunset was stunning too!
