We used The Westin for our wedding hotel block and we (and our guests) couldn’t have been happier. The Westin recently underwent renovations so it’s super clean and modern looking.
April and Renee were super helpful and accommodating. They kept us updated weekly on who booked within our block, whether we getting low on rooms in the block, etc. They were also extremely helpful in making sure that our guests received their welcome gift, got on the correct bus to be taken to the reception, and had everything they need. They went out of their way to book a private lunch for the groomsmen at the hotel’s restaurant.
They really went above and beyond!
Don’t do it. Wedding coordinator turn over is enough to drive a person crazy. Overpriced, nickel and dime everything, and no beautiful spaces for pictures. Still mortified over how they handled a major crisis at our wedding (all ceremony decor literally came crashing down on our heads immediately after ceremony. Workers laughed while I was in tears before my reception, and Westin assigned wedding planner’s first words were “not our fault”.) GM was unhelpful and rude to family who tried to solve issue afterward. I’m sure there are better places in Charlotte. Only good thing was food for brunch. If you are already locked in, find your own wedding planner, you will definitely need it to keep the disorganized Westin staff in line.
LOVED having our wedding at the Westin!! The wedding coordinator, Eric Weiner, was absolutely fantastic to work with!!
Great rooms, got late check out, but had multiple difficulties booking them. Definitely was good once all problems were fixed but double check everything is booked
I recently attended a wedding ceremony and reception at your lovely property. It was an all day affair and I must let you know the entire event was flawless. I was very involved with the Bride and there to help as much as I can. It worked out that I didn't have to do a thing but enjoy the festivities. Eric Weiner, the most AWESOME Wedding Planner took charge of every detail. He was there at all times and handled every component of the day with ease and never once did I see him "sweat the small stuff". What a professional. You are very lucky to have Eric with you. I highly recommend the Westin Charlotte and Eric. His vision and ideas were just spot on and the ballroom was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. What could have been a working day for me turned out to be quite lovely and watching him in action was amazing. You have a beautiful property and an amazing staff as well. We will cherish these memories for years to come.
Where do I begin? From my first meeting with Eric, the amazing wedding planner with The Westin Charlotte to the night of my reception, everything was absolutely stellar. No detail was left out. I couldn't dream of a more beautiful room than what Eric did for me. He listened to my ideas and vision and offered his advice, which was great, and transformed the room into something not only breathtaking but most importantly, a true picture of us. Eric's menu ideas; which were all customized, nothing from a pre-set menu, were amazing. The Chef's at The Westin out did themselves....very impressed. Eric was with us and present the entire night ensuring everything was going perfectly and interacting with our vendors so I didn't have to. I was so at ease all night. What a great evening for all. I am still getting calls and emails from guests expressing what a wonderful evening it was. I highly recommend The Westin Charlotte and especially, Eric. Again, he is amazing and a truly passionate individual. You will be in GREAT hands.
I was the maid of honor at my best friends wedding and as I've never had this responsibility before, I was very nervous as I wanted to be there for my best friend every part of the way and do a great job. The major selections were done already: wedding location, dress and even the baker. When we met with her wedding planner, Eric, to discuss the menu, seating and lighting for her (her colors were very specific), I knew we were in great hands. He was so down to earth and asked questions I never thought to ask. He showed me the reception space as I hadn't seen it before. When he was describing the set-up to us, he just lit up and was so excited for us. I loved the space. It was perfect. Not too small as I know she wanted a big dance floor and room for guests to mingle with each other.
The wedding day was perfect and the ballroom was absolutely beautiful. Eric was there the entire night...or at least until I could remember :-). He's now in our friendship circle and I would highly recommend the Westin and Eric.

I'm recently engaged, 1 month ago. I'm still in the "I'm getting marred" phase. My Mom's advice was to choose my venue right away and don't wait. I completely agreed and I spent this entire weekend looking at venues; from country clubs to hotels. I do want a venue where my guests can stay and attend the reception in the same place as a good part of guests will be traveling from out of state. On Saturday, I met with Eric at The Westin Hotel. He was the only person I met with that day waiting for me at the front entrance. The Hotel is beautiful and location is great. Eric sat down with me and asked about my fiancé; where we met and what my dream wedding was. I was so impressed with him, wanting to know more about me even before we looked at possible reception space. I love the fact that they don't have wedding packages as I have a quite a few and their starting to blend together. He explained to me that he would prefer to customize my wedding with "wish list" items from me and my fiancé rather than selecting a pre-determined wedding package. One question he asked was very interesting, "what is the one take away I wanted my guests to have from my wedding". I loved it; I really want elegance and chic. One item that really stood out among everyone else is Eric will be my planner and be there for me each step of the way. When we looked at my options for space, he had his IPAD with him so I could see how each space looked set for a wedding with different décor options and that was so helpful to me as I'm very visual. He was so passionate about what I wanted from décor to the reception food. He spent more time with me than any other location I visited and truly was interested in my time and ideas. My fiancé is returning tomorrow and I can't wait to show him the hotel and meet with Eric again. I think I found the perfect venue for my wedding!
Absolutely wonderful..staff, service, coordinator GREAT!!!!
I had my wedding reception in the upstairs ballroom, and it was more perfect than I could ever have imagined. I originally was hesitant to use a hotel ballroom, fearing it wouldn't be personal or unique. I could not have been more wrong. I worked with Eric, who helped manage every single detail of my day, down to the pens used on the guest book. He coordinated every vendor so I didn't have to worry about it. He helped us set up our menu and scheduled a tasting, making everything very simple through the planning, and the food was AMAZING. We've gotten multiple comments on it being the best wedding food some guests had ever had! We got to customize the menu, instead of choosing items from a list, which made it really personal to us. They also handled the lighting, which helped transform the ballroom. We got a free suite the night of the wedding, which was gorgeous, and they also gave us a free room to celebrate our one-year anniversary. It was so nice to have so many of our bases covered by the staff at the Westin and being able to use one of their coordinators instead of hiring a third party. I would recommend The Westin through and through, as it was hands down the best weekend of our lives!
Eric and his staff at the Westin truly made me feel like a princess on my wedding day! The food was AMAZING! Our guests could not stop complementing the chef and the service staff! I never had to worry about anything that day, just how it should be!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Westin. I was great getting ready for the ceremony there and then we had the recption there as well. Great service for the most part. Other than them being very expensive, it was definitely worth it!
