I recently had my wedding at The Westin and truly had such a 5 star experience. Meaghan Lowe was such an incredible person to work with over the course of several months to plan this special day. She was quick to respond to emails, incredibly helpful, and always made me and my wedding feel important to her. On the day of, the venue staff that was in charge was phenomenal! We had someone who was specific to the sweetheart table and I wish I knew her name because she was so amazing in consistently checking on us to see if we needed food, drinks, food boxed up, literally anything. The bartenders were complimented multiple times throughout the night by guests. I'm soooo glad I chose to have my wedding at The Westin and beyond grateful that I got to work with Meaghan during this special time! I absolutely recommend this resort with it's gorgeous views, several venue options, beautiful hotel rooms, and wonderful staff!
Beth and the entire team at the Westin made our wedding a dream come true! From the littlest detail to all the personal attention, we could not ask for more and the Chefs and servers were amazing and the Food was incredible
My husband and I had our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception all on the harbor lawn/riverscape lawn and harbor ballroom at the Westin. We were blown away by how amazing everything was! We worked with Beth throughout the whole planning process and she was unbelievable! She had everything taken care of by the time we arrived (this was a destination wedding for us and all of our guests) and it didn't stop there. She helped us with our room blocks and ensuring all of our guests had a place to stay. She jumped in with to help any issues we came across throughout the days leading into the wedding and then on the wedding day itself! Our day would not have been nearly as flawless as it was without her and the staff's support. Thank you Beth and thank you to the Westin for making our dream day so perfect!!!
Any questions?
Stick with this review, it's bad before it gets better. I used the Westin as my wedding venue. That experience was ATROCIOUS. If I could go back and do it again I would not select the Westin. They lost my wedding cake (two whole sheet cakes!), wine we had purchased specially, lost the cake topper, did not save the top tier like we had asked, food was worse than the tasting, and the serving staff bad mouthed us to our guests by saying we didn't purchase enough cake. The food was not worth the cost and the quality did not measure up to the tasting, and lastly the staff started turning on all the lights and cleaning despite having the place reserved for another hour. With all of that said, the staff I interacted with as the bride were extremely professional and courteous. We called the coordinator after we learned of how much went wrong and she tried her best to make it up to us. They reimbursed us, gave us extra accommodation, and provided a few packages for the negative experience. They turned a horrible experience into something I'm not as bitter about. The hotel room itself was very comfortable and fitting a grand wedding night. The spa and golf course were divine and would not hesitate to go back as a guest in this capacity. I truly believe that they cared for the mistakes that were made and did their best to help ease it. Even with that, I can't recommend this a good venue.
We had our cocktail hour on the harbor lawn and our reception in the harbor ballroom at the Westin in Savannah. It was amazing! The staff are so responsive and helpful. About two months before the wedding, a tasting is done where you attend the Westin and try versions of the foods offered, and they are all amazing!
They give you an executive suite for the bride and groom the night of the wedding as well. They gave me the option to book the room the night before the wedding so that we could have the hair and make-up team come up there for getting ready. When I checked in, there was a gift bag with traditional Savannah sweets and savory items and a lovely card from the Westin wedding coordinator. When the hair and make-up team arrived the following day, the Westin also sent up complimentary champagne mimosas and fruit trays for us!
Everything was just so perfect and professional the entire time! They worked with the vendors and the wedding planner on decor and lighting and the lawn and ballroom looked absolutely stunning! I could not have imagined a better more perfect place to have my wedding cocktail hour and reception than at the Westin. Thank you so much to Brittany and the staff at the Westin for making me feel so special and making my day perfect! 5 amazing stars, if I could give more, I would give them all!!!
Contrary to some of the reviews, my experience was awesome. After booking, I worked with Brittany who was amazing. Our wedding was the Sat after Thanksgiving and we had to plan it from Nashville where we live. Brittany was very accommodating with our time and schedule for tasting, etc. Although we had already toured the ceremony site, she took us on another tour and showed us how everything would work. Our wedding was at the golf pavilian. She helped us with our rooms for the groom, helped us get a bigger suite for me and the bridal party that ended up being our suite the night of the wedding (I recommend the Hospitality Suite. It had all the room we needed). Brittany followed up with me pur entire stay until the moment we left. She was a true joy.
The front desk and valet staff were all great to us and our guests and family. They comped our valet since it was our wedding. And the ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful and amazing. We see both happy with bbn our choice. I honestly dont think you can go wrong. I can speak for Brittany, she is absolutley AMAZING!!! And so was our wedding!!
Would NOT recommend for your wedding. Let me start by stating that initially we had Kristen as our coordinator and everything was amazing. Things began to go really downhill once Kristen left the month before our wedding and I was given a catering manager to manage my wedding (who I was told never was responsible for a full wedding on her own.) I was not assigned Kristen's counterpart, Sarah, to manage my wedding and was never given a reason why even though I asked multiple times why Sarah was not involved. Also, the block manager left and the catering manager was over our block as well (also not what she is experienced in) which resulted in multiple issues: Biggest issue of all was our WEDDING SUITE: We were told we would be in the Champion Suite, which is the typical room for the bridal party (as you can see from other reviews). Weeks before the wedding I found out it was an executive suite with no balcony . Upon asking, I was told it had been booked way in advance and there were no other suites available and none available with a balcony. We asked if there was at least an adjoining room we could also book for more space to get ready the day of the wedding. I was told there was no adjoining room. Upon checking in to the room, I noticed there was an adjoining suite and our neighbor in that suite had several dogs barking which made it hard to sleep the night before the wedding. We called downstairs multiple times before someone finally came up and told the guest to "control" her dogs (which didn't end up happening and they barked throughout the night before our wedding). Also, we were told they would "try" to allow our wedding guests to check in early on Saturday to be ready in time for the wedding, some of which were my family and bridal party. The responses they got upon check in was that the Westin was "sold out" that weekend. Why is that any of my guests fault when they booked rooms in advance for my WEDDING? They should've been able to check in prior to 4pm for a 5pm wedding. Guests room were either wrong or charged the incorrect rate. Other: Mahogany Chivari Chairs: The wedding ceremony was initially to be outdoors and using the white folding chairs. The evening before, my planner and I discussed the possibility of having to move the ceremony inside due to the weather. I asked if the chairs I ordered and paid for to be also used for the indoor ceremony. I was informed they didn't have enough chairs to do so and the regular banquet chairs or white folding chairs could be used. I was told I was going to be charged $500 for a flip fee! That was MORE than the rental cost of the chairs that I already paid for.
At my reception one waiter was EXTREMELY rude to a family about bringing her the incorrect meal choice, saying she had to take the salmon and the hotel didn’t have any extra chicken meals, (though I had confirmed all meals with and even broke them down by table) and which I also know to be a lie as I was told you always make extra just in case. Throughout our stay, we asked to speak to the general manager or director of operations. We asked the front desk person upon check in, the night manager that Friday night, and another front desk person the day of the wedding. We did not receive one phone call, visit to our room, or apology throughout that entire weekend. No one seemed to care enough to come talk to us. Ironically, I received excellent and prompt communication anytime a payment was due. Choose wisely for your wedding day!
Kristen Haddick and the staff at the Westin Savannah helped create the most beautiful wedding I could have ever imagined. Thanks to her and her team we had the Champions suite for my bridal party to get ready in- highly recommend this gorgeous view! We were able to take pictures throughout the resort because of the fantastic views and well maintained hotel and lawn. Kristen was always a quick email or call away and helped put my mind at ease throughout the entire planning process. Our meals were just as good as we remember from the tasting and the staff were all incredibly professional and accommodating. If you are looking for an "all in one" venue then this is the place for you!! I'm an incredibly happy bride!!
Sarah was on maternity leave and had started our contract. Nadine her assistant stepped in while she was out. Nadine was difficult to work with but easily reachable. Our wedding day was fantastic but getting all the details nailed down was difficult.
My wife and I are very happy in choosing the Westin for our wedding ceremony and rehearsal. We decided to have our ceremony on the Harbor Lawn and all of our guests have been commenting on how beautiful the wedding was. The food was fantastic and we really appreciated the effort the staff put in to meet our requirements for the day of our wedding. We initially worked with Sarah when starting to plan out the day and she did a great job helping us block off rooms and work out all the financials. I would recommend the Westin to others for any wedding event.
Our wedding was absolutely amazing. Sarah Alifi-Baez was such a huge help and went above and beyond to help me plan while living in Colorado. Everyone said everything was perfect. The Club Pavilion where we had our reception was absolutely gorgeous. The perfect setting for something you want to feel like it's outside without actually being surrounded by bugs with no ac. I wish we could go back and do the whole day again. Food was perfect and the banquets staff were great at their job with amazing personalities!
The venue surpassed my expectations. The staff when coordinating were extremely helpful and attentive. The food was amazing! The back drop of the bridge was so romantic. I would highly recommend this venue well worth the investment!
Sarah at the Westin helped me every step along the way. She was always eager and happy to help or answer any questions I had. She really went above and beyond to help sure my day went perfect. On the day of the wedding everything went perfect. The food and service were fantastic! I really couldn't have asked for a better day!
I had my wedding reception at The Westin and everyone loved it! It was a little on the pricey side but the venue location was beautiful! The food was great but expensive. I would highly recommend this venue!
I love the Westin Harbor Ballroom, which overlooks the Savannah River. It is extremely beautiful. All of the out of town guests loved the location. The Westin was great to work with and the food was fabulous. The events specialist at the Westin, Robyn is terrific!
wow, what a lovely hotel. I visited the hotel because several of my fellow-brides hosted their weddings and receptions there. It is a little pricey but well worth every penny!
The Westin helped me to create the wedding of my dreams. The fall day was magical on the Savannah River! Robyn Joffe is fantastic to work with! My guests still rave about the lobster bisque, and those mushrooms stuffed with boursin cheese! yummo! I recommend using the hospitality suite to host guests throughout the weekend and as a place for the bride to get ready. It made for a great place for everyone, especially out of town guests, to hang out
This by far has the best view and atmosphere in the area, but it does come at a price. The people we worked with were great. We had our tasting and it was amazing, however the food we were served at the wedding fell a bit short of our expectations.
The hotel is beautiful, the food was wonderful and the service excellent. A little pricey, but in my opinion worth the money.
Not only is the hotel absolutely gorgeous, but the staff is great at what they do. My contact at the hotel was very friendly and very accommodating. The food was delicious. If I had to do it all over again, I would still choose the Westin.
Fantastic location for a wedding, especially a destination wedding. You can always count on Westin to be beautiful, but the Westin Savannah Property is one of a kind! Many ceremony and reception area options, all with great views and ambiance. Plenty of activites for you and your guest to do. Convenient access to historic Savannah and most of all a superb and committed sales and catering staff. Sarah Allifi-Baez was a pleasure to work with and made our day all that we wished for.
