The venue itself is clean and beautiful and we received nothing but amazing feed back by our guest that attend. Highly recommend this venue. the bride I spent time cleaning up during the rehearsal, and had to request a trash bin to be left at the guest book which I felt should have been recognized by the staff when/if anyone noticed - Not only was the send off sign not put out but the sign and glow sticks for dancing and the send off were found in a pile of TRASH laying around - Jessica was not there at the time of set up and left before the reception ended. She also did not connect me with a new POC, despite asking to be - Halfway through the event I asked a worker who was in charge after Jessica because I had some issues I wanted addressed, the worker said she will call and find someone and send them to me but no one ever came to check in - After the entire event I had to actively ask around for who was put in charge after Jessica left and no one seemed to know so when I finally found the person and IN TEARS expressed my disappointment she argued everything with me and said she’s find the GM for me to talk to then stormed off and didn’t see her again. I later found out no GM was on sight at that point - New POC also said “I thought you were having fun” when I brought up my concerns which leads me to believe the worker who said they will find her for me and let me know either never found out or the new POC didn’t care to follow up with me when she found out halfway through I was having problems - Because we did not have a person from the venue to help with the timeline of things our end time ran over by 6 minutes and some maintenance guy came over to switch all the lights on. When I asked if we could just have a couple more minutes so my husband and I could have our last private dance (we were the only ones down there as everyone was setting up for the send off) he told me “No, the event ended at 10 and it’s 10:06 now” and proceeded to switch the lights on and walk around doing other things on the dance floor while we tried to have our private last dance - The fountain was supposed to be put on after the ceremony and never was (it even says it in our notes, hand written by Jessica) - They also say they flip the room from ceremony to reception but I had a handful of guests having to help because they didn’t handle everything - Before booking it was not made clear that all candles have to be LED (and would not be provided) which was not something I planned for when choosing between venues but only found out AFTER signing the contract - No clear communication or heads up about no assistance with rehearsal or ceremony - Would have booked a day of coordinator if I was given all the information and in a timely manager to arrange booking someone - Communication about room packages was misleading/confusing - I spent the remainder of my wedding night crying over all the failures of the venue and the staff and lack of concern, accountability and professionalism at their hands - It has now been a week and we have still yet to hear anything from Jessica or the GM that we were told would talk to us.

Her attention to detail, quick communication, and above all, her positive personality truly made planning my wedding fun. We had hoped the bar in the hotel stayed open for an after party, but they ended up closing early. The hotel elevators are also extremely difficult for vendors and the wedding party as you each need a key card to operate and ours kept getting deactivated. Even with those two hiccups, I still would recommend Jessica and the Garden Atrium for your next event. Such a unique event space with an awesome team to help you plan!

ma), planned, and executed a multi day wedding on October 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2022. Andrea was our main point of contact at the hotel. From the first time we met, we felt her warmth and willing to help us and the wedding couple, in anyway she can. She arrived to the hotel early in the morning, was available during the day, and the evening, she even stayed the night and woke up early Sunday morning, around 6am, to facilitate the setup for the breakfast and the early wedding ceremony. She did not leave until everything was taken care of. Her banquet team was also very friendly during the reception, and the ceremony. They catered to the needs of the bride, groom, family, friends, and all the vendors. Everyone was respectful and friendly. Saturday evening, a few of the vendors did not get a chance to eat dinner, due to working hard for the event, and Andrea was nice enough to arrange some dinner for us, via the hotel restaurant. The food was amazing! We stayed the night and the hotel rooms were nice, clean, and luxurious for a Marriott property. The Atrium is a beautiful space for a wedding, or event, and we highly highly highly recommend Andrea, along with the entire sales and banquet team, for your next wedding or event. We also want to recognize the hard working folks behind the scenes, the servers, waiters, kitchen staff, front desk, valet, security, and housekeeping. Everything came together well.

. I received multiple compliments on the bartender that she worked hard and was very pleasant. The food was delicious just like our tasting. Julia was very calm and helpful with our minor hiccups. I actually laughed at them and it worked out fine. I would definitely have another affair at the Westin. The room was beautiful and Julia worked well with all my vendors. She was very responsive to all my emails and calls.

I could go on and on about the Westin, but overall, they helped make our day perfect and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

ts. Throughout the planning process, Anna and Julia were extremely helpful - always answering all our emails and numerous questions. About a week before the wedding, we had a meeting with the Westin staff which helped us feel more at ease with the planning process. We also reserved the hospitality suite, which obviously adds to the cost, but I believe was completely worth it to have the extra space to get ready and for family to have a getaway area. The day of, we were so surprised with the extreme friendly-ness of the entire staff at the Westin. We loved the Atrium space, we used banquet chairs and minimal decoration but it was still beautiful. Our guests loved the food, open bar, and raved about the Atrium and ballroom set up as well. I couldn't have asked for a better day for my wedding day. I highly recommend the Westin!

From the very beginning of the planning process your team didn't miss a beat. The collaboration with myself and my vendors was excellent. The responsiveness to my calls and emails was exceptional. Your suggestions added to the class and flare that made that met my personal expectations. The service was second to none, the meals and accommodations were phenomenal. Everything was awesome, fabulous, over the top! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. And it wasn't until the following morning during checkout when in hindsight I was taken back with emotion as I thanked one of your staff. People who know me personally know how particular I can be, it's just part of my character, needless to say I/ we were thoroughly pleased and if we had it to do over again there is no doubt we would be there at the Westin Southfield.

Additionally, because it is a Hotel as well, the abundance of resources made it easy for them to make things happen! The whole hotel is beautiful, which made our pictures amazing! The food is great! Drinks were delicious! Parking is ample. Even the room at the end of the night was beyond comfortable (and included!). I highly recommend this as a wedding venue. 5 stars!

ut of state, and the entire staff at the Westin made all the coordination basically seamless. They were very accommodating with our schedules and communication via email. They also were wonderful to our families, who stepped in to help plan in several occasions. The food was wonderful - we decided to only go with a chicken option and our guests all raved about it. Our appetizers were incredible, and the staff made sure to bring a platter of them to our holding room before our introductions so we could actually enjoy them! The only slight issue we encountered was a bathroom renovation that was supposed to have been completed by the time of our reception. Apparently the devastating hurricanes of the season affected the materials shipping, which obviously was out of everyone’s hands. The staff was extra accommodating to my then-wheelchair bound grandfather, ensuring that he could access the facilities when needed, and they provided a backup bathroom for guests as well. It was certainly a slight inconvenience but everyone at the Westin did everything they could to make up for it, and I didn’t get one comment or question from guests about the issue at all. Both sets of parents booked a hospitality suite for getting ready and a small post wedding gathering, which I think made all the difference in our overall experience. Also, we hosted a morning-after brunch which was wonderful... and our guests absolutely raved about the food (especially the bacon)! I would recommend the Westin for any event - they truly made our wedding day perfect.

The food was incredible, which was one of the many compliments my husband and I received during and after the wedding. We honestly could not have asked for a better team to work with and a more beautiful place to host our wedding!

he Algonquin ballroom. Anna and the entire Westin team were great to work with and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect. From start to finish they made the planning process easy and were very responsive to all the questions we had along the way. They did a great job managing the room block even as I changed my mind several times on room requests! The day of our wedding went better than we could have ever imagined. The Atrium was a beautiful spot for the ceremony and we couldn't have asked for a better reception. The ballroom was beautiful and the layout was perfect. We've received numerous comments from friends and family raving about the entire evening and how good the food was. People have told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to and the Westin staff's execution on everything was a large reason for that. Service was top notch and the entire team was friendly, engaging, and attentive. Bringing the entire wedding party appetizers and drinks as we took photos was just one of many examples of how the staff went above and beyond. Everyone one loved the appetizers and entrees, and even noticed how well they were able to accommodate special meal requests. The entire day was seamless and we even managed to stay on a fairly tight schedule. The Westin has a very talented and professional team dedicated to superior customer service. We could tell everything possible was being done to make our day perfect and for that we are truly thankful! I would not hesitate to recommend the Westin Southfield for your wedding or event as everything exceeded our expectations.

0 guests and vendors. Beautiful facility and setup, good food, helpful staff, especially the event captain David. Main disappointments: Not enough bartenders for the cocktail hour or servers for the dinner, which took well over an hour to serve. Nobody pouring wine at the tables during dinner -- you had to get your own wine at the bar. It wasn't a problem with the servers themselves, there just weren't enough of them. We had a lot of feedback from our guests on these issues. When I brought it up later with the coordinator, she said that we could have paid more for extra servers and wine pouring at the tables. But we were not made aware of that in advance at all. We would gladly have paid extra for better service had we known it was available and needed. I can recommend the Westin Atrium as long as you keep these potential pitfalls in mind. Head them off in advance by being proactive with the Westin coordinator on these kinds of details. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the disappointing level of service.

The price was reasonable and I didn't have to get up to get my own drink all night :) It was perfect. We even got a suite on our wedding night for free, as well as a bottle of champagne. You can't go wrong with The Westin!

Anna was a fantastic coordinator and kept in contact with my mother and I (more so my mom ;) ) throughout the planning processing keeping us both up-t0-date and aware of any changes, up coming dates, and always available for questions and help. The staff that supported our day went above and beyond! So many of my guests commented to me about how 'nice' and 'fun' the staff was during the celebration and that really made a difference to me. I would definitely , and already have, recommended the Westin for your up coming wedding. It made the process so much easier and I am forever grateful.

any have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The hotel staff lead by Anna were very helpful, flexible, and extremely professional. They made what could have been a very stressful process seem unbelievable smooth in planning our dream event. They worked splendid with our wedding coordinator and various vendors. (Example: the flower vendor was the groom mother!) The hotel guests’ accommodations was able to manage our many change requests even beyond the deadline (sorry for the multiple room changes). Our vendors reported that the venue was very easy to decorate to meet our vision. Our guests still are raving at least 3-weeks after our day about the quality of the food and service that the Westin provided (Big Props to Chief and Wait Staff). Thank you to the Westin Southfield Detroit staff, especially Anna, for making our Sept 23rd wedding night flawless!

The week before the wedding we had a meeting with the head of each department. They all introduced themselves so you knew who to go to if you needed something. We went over what the wedding day would look like & it was great to know that everyone was on the same page. The staff did better than I could have imagined the day of our wedding. They were helpful in setting up & making sure everything was done exactly how I wanted it. We had our ceremony in the atrium & reception in the ballroom & I appreciated that they could accommodate for our large wedding of about 240 people. I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Westin! It was an absolutely beautiful day & the staff was incredible! Everything I dreamed about!

nd reception to be held in the Atrium on October 14, 2016. The whole planning process was actually pretty easy for the most part. We got to attend a personal tasting to pick out all the aspects of our menu for the evening(everything that we tried was incredible.) All of the staff members emailed me back within 24 hours or sooner anytime that I emailed with any sort of question. The week of the wedding, We went to a meeting where we got to meet every single person that would be on staff for our wedding, the chef, the head of the banquet staff, the event coordinators, the GM of the hotel, even the head of the maid service to make sure all of our hotel block rooms were correct. I was very nice and it showed that they really cared that every detail would be perfect. We also booked our rehearsal dinner at the Westin the night before in a separate banquet room, the food and service was amazing. We had a room block, and the bridal party had a hospitality suite to get ready in, which was a huge and very nice space to get ready in! I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is getting married here. On the day of the wedding, everything went perfectly. I can only remember one little detail getting confused and as soon I told one of the event coordinators, it was fixed within seconds. Anna and Kelly (The event coordinators) were attentive, friendly, and did an amazing job. The head of the banquets that night continuously checked to make sure everything was perfect. Even the staff that was working that night was very helpful and great. The food was honestly the best food I have ever had at a wedding ever. I have had numerous people tell me the exact same thing. I am so happy that I was able to have my wedding at the Westin. Not only was it absolutely gorgeous in the Atrium, but the staff and the atmosphere made it an absolutely perfect weekend.

We also, were able to get ready at the hotel prior and guests could come back after the wedding to continue to celebrate. The food was delicious and there are endless options. We also, had a late night slider bar, which our guests loved! The staff truly care about their guests and are with you each step of the way during the planning process, as well as the day of. Having our wedding with them was the best decision we made!

The food was hot, the bars were stocked, and everyone was having a great time. The Westin is perfect for your wedding too! They are very helpful, go above and beyond, and are there every step of the way. It was so nice having the whole day inside the Westin. Dave our banquet captain remembered little details (my husband loves Boston coolers and he surprised us with one!), remembered some very important heirloom rings that would have been forgotten, and made sure our night was perfect down to the last detail. The Westin team is helpful, on top of things, and very hospitable. One more shout out to the night auditor, Byron, who made sure the small issue we had with rooms was corrected right away.

Our guests were comfortable and taken care of throughout their stay, and were equally blown away by the service. I only have good things to say about the staff there and would recommend them to absolutely everyone!

I was personally pretty obsessed with all of the appetizers that we ordered (especially the shrimp tostada!) the salads and entrees were also delicious. At one point, a Westin employee personally ushered most of the reception to the dance floor because I had said that I wanted people to dance at my wedding. That moment demonstrates what the whole experience was like- no matter how small or off hand the request the Westin made it happen! It was an amazing night and if I had to do everything over- I wouldn't change a thing.

e staff was beyond accommodating. We had a Friday night dinner/Saturday lunch in the hotel and the wedding ceremony and reception in the Atrium. They met with us whenever we asked during the planning process, returned all our phone calls and emails in a timely fashion. They were most gracious at handling our request for all vegetarian food for the entire weekend. The catering staff was amazing. Even with Michelle Ray leaving her position 10 days before our event, the rest of the staff picked up right where she left off without a hiccup. Fred, Chef Jared, Calice and Kelly went above and beyond. The venue is beautiful, the hotel staff is amazing and wouldn't hesitate to have another function here. Our guests were blown away by the hospitality of the hotel and beauty of the Atrium
