We had the best experience hosting our reception at the Westin Tampa Bay! The food was fantastic, they were organized and the ballroom looked spectacular! They made sure to work with all of our vendors and hosted majority of our guests with the upmost organization and friendliness!!!! 10/10 recommend!!
Katie and Samantha were fantastic wedding reception partners. Their willingness to participate in Facetimes with the Bride and Groom (both from Boston, bride's parents local) and allowing access to the spaces on several occasions to support the creative process was greatly appreciated. We were so blessed to have their wedding expertise guide us but especially blessed to have them as Partners in bringing a vision to reality. We had the utmost confidence in them and we truly appreciate their interest and engagement on the many visits and emails. Not only did Katie work with us directly, she worked closely with our wedding decor and planner Blue Skies. They never missed a step!
We did use the BluVue for the cocktail hour and the Caribbean Ballroom and outer rooms for the reception. In addition, the adjoining Hospitality rooms were perfect as the get-ready rooms for the bridal party. The bride and groom stayed at a different location for the wedding night, but the groom used the complimentary suite the night before which offered a great place for the groomsmen to spend some time with the groom the morning of. We provided bus transportation to/from the church for the rehearsal and then again for the ceremony for the wedding party and guests. The hotel easily accommodated all buses and cars.
The wedding reception was absolutely everything we could have hoped for for our daughter and her now-husband! Simply gorgeous! The BluVu cocktail hour was a hit and folks raved about the carved beef for dinner in the Caribbean Ballroom. I noticed the venue description states 50-100, which would be the case for a wedding and reception on the BluVue rooftop, but the Ballroom can easily accommodate 150 along with DJ and dance floor.
Many of the Bride and Groom's friends have gone to many weddings over the past few years. On more than one occasion, we heard the guys say ... this is the BEST wedding they have been to! We love that folks got to spend time visiting outside by the beach and wished we could have had more downtime to sit out at night especially by the fire pit - but alas, we needed our sleep to be ready for the next day!
From the first unannounced tour by Bernard; a later tour by Sabrina when one of the MOHs was in town for a quick visit; ongoing support by Pamela to manage the guest reservations; the quick action of Brandon and Lauren to get us into a room so that the wedding dress could get out of its bag without the groom seeing it; the kind words of Toni as the table set up was in progress; the willingness of Dixie to learn and take command of a new napkin fold; and the attentiveness of Mo for the day of lunches, before during and after the reception, and our family breakfast the next morning in the Aqua, the Westin staff worked as a team on every occasion! And there are so many others that had a part in creating our shared experience!
Great life event!
Brides be warned! I recently had my wedding here and would not recommend to anyone! My day-of coordinator, Katie, totally dropped the ball on my wedding day. I didn't even see her until I walked down the aisle. Precious wedding items went missing, the vendors had no direction, and the whole day was just unorganized. After my wedding when I called her superior ( The general manager, Ron) to say how displeased I was, he treated me like a child and was completely unprofessional. Please don't have your wedding here. Your wedding day is too special to put in the hands of these people.
We picked the Westin for our wedding reception shortly before Katie became the wedding coordinator there. I was nervous about the transition to a new person, but I was completely blown away by the entire place and everyone there-- ESPECIALLY Katie. I was probably somewhat of a high maintenance, super anxious bride, but she was always bubbly and supportive, anticipated issues before they happened, and seemed to be available at a moment's notice. In the very single detail was absolutely perfect. The carribbean ballroom was beatiful. Our guests are still raving about how amazing the buffet food was--and you know wedding buffet food is typically hit or miss! Plus, everyone loved the hotel, and it was very convenient to stay right in the same place as the reception. Running into our guests the next morning at the Starbucks and the breakfast buffet was like adding an extra event to the whole party :) After the fact, we discovered that there were actually TWO weddings going on when we got married--Katie, the kitchen, and the whole staff were also working another wedding upstairs. We had NO idea. Nothing suffered for all the work everyone had to do that night! Truly the PERFECT place for a wedding!
Very great service and the employees were great.
The only negative is that I wish they would have decorated our room with flowers or something the night of our wedding. But beside that- I definitely would recommend this hotel!!!
My husband and I originally were just going to have our wedding guests stay at the Westin, but we fell in love with the BluVu ballroom on the top floor and decided to have our reception there as well. It was a great decision. One of the key reasons our experience was so great was because of Kristina MItchell, the event manager at the Westin. She was absolutely fantastic - always responsive, courteous, and went the extra mile to make sure all our events went perfectly and guests staying at the hotel were well cared for and comfortable. The reception was fabulous and views spectacular. My guests actually came up to me during the reception to tell me how fabulous the food was and how pleasant and "on top of things" the staff was. Highly recommend this venue....
I honestly was not impressed by this Hotel. When we found the hotel, we fell in love with it because it was a gorgeous hotel and a great location. We had great service by our coordinator there, who was upper management I think, but when it came to the night of the rehearsal dinner and the night of the wedding, our experience was sub-par. The shuttles were consistently late, our guests were waiting for over 45 minutes in the cold on more than one occasion. Our room was nice, but the sofa/sofa bed was broken, our keys kept being deactivated and whenever we would call down to get customer service, the people were rude. Its a beautiful hotel, they just need better customer service.
We used this location for the wedding and the reception. We had around 40 people and it was very nice. We used the BluVue venue at the top of the hotel. It was beautiful.
All of my out of town wedding guests stayed at the Westin Tampa Bay and loved it. We also had our welcome party, rehearsal luncheon, and wedding brunch there. Each event was designed and setup uniquely for us. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food served at each event was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a wedding in Tampa.
We didn't use The Westin for our wedding venue, but we did use it for our guests. Not only did my guests enjoy staying at The Westin Tampa Bay, but so did my husband and I on our wedding night. We booked enough guests to get a free wedding night suite! Our sales associate was extremely accommodating and friendly. We negotiated a very nice rate at a gorgeous hotel on the water with shuttle service to the airport and nearby restaurants and shopping. I was very pleased with the quality, and at such an affordable price!
Our reception was less than a mile away from this hotel so we booked it for convenience, but once we stayed there on our wedding night, we wanted to vacation there! We had booked a block of rooms for guests, which was a very simple and painless process with the sales manager. Literally, every single person that stayed there has told us how nice that hotel is. The view is gorgeous, the rooms are new modern and clean, and the location is perfect for anyone living around Tampa or going to the airport. Not to mention, the service and amenities are first class!!!
