I want to start by saying that Marissa did an incredible job transforming our venue into something truly breathtaking. She worked well with our wedding planner and my wife, capturing exactly what my wife envisioned for our special day. The floral arrangements for the venue itself were stunning, and I can't deny that the overall aesthetic was beautifully executed.
That being said, there were several aspects of the floral arrangements that were incredibly important to me and, unfortunately, were not delivered as promised. When we initially met with Marissa, our budget was lower, but my wife later doubled it to ensure we got what we wanted. With that in mind, I had a few specific requests that were overlooked, which significantly impacted my experience and mood on the wedding day.
One of the biggest disappointments was the bridal party florals. The bridesmaids’ bouquets didn’t last long, the wrist corsages changed color and looked unappealing, and the groomsmen’s boutonnieres were a complete mess. They were far too small, did not look good at all, and to make matters worse, we didn’t even receive the correct amount, leaving us scrambling at the last minute. My sister had to put something together just so that everyone had something, which should never have happened given the planning and budget we had allocated.
However, the most upsetting part was my own boutonniere. I completely understand that my wife had chosen a specific flower to be used throughout the wedding. When I spoke with Marissa about my boutonniere, she indicated that if she used that particular flower, it wouldn’t last or hold up well. I told her that she was the professional, as I have no knowledge about flowers, but my one request was that it be elegant and elevated. She assured me she would create something special and even mentioned she would prepare three identical boutonnieres so that if one got damaged, I would have backups. Unfortunately, none of that happened. My boutonniere looked just as plain as the groomsmen’s, completely lacking any sophistication or attention to detail. Worse yet, it broke within minutes of being pinned to my suit. When I went to use my backup, I realized that I only had one extra, not three as promised, and it looked just as bad as the first.
At that point, I was so frustrated that I chose not to wear a boutonniere at all, meaning all my wedding photos show me without one—something that was incredibly important to me and should have never been overlooked. If you zoom in on the photos of my groomsmen, you can also see how poorly their boutonnieres held up, with many either broken or missing entirely.
While I truly appreciate the beauty Marissa brought to the venue, the lack of attention to detail on these key elements, especially my boutonniere, really affected my experience. I expected more, especially given the budget increase and the clear communication about what was important to me. It’s disappointing that such a crucial part of my wedding day was mishandled, and for that reason, I can’t say my experience with The Wild Fleur Co. was as positive as I had hoped.
The experience we had for our wedding with Marissa was THE BEST! We had an Indian wedding, which is about a week long, and she helped do the florals for each event. We loved everything about what she was able to create. As we talked through the different looks together, she was not only able to do exactly what we wanted, but we were able to work within our budget. We would highly recommend The Wild Fleur Co. for your events. She's our go to for anything we've done since our wedding week.
I am a wedding planner and am always looking for talented floral designers that can help bring my client's visions to life. I found The Wild Fleur Co. via Instagram and had been dying to work with Marissa. When my sister got engaged and asked me to plan her wedding, I knew I had to reach out!
From the beginning, Marissa was incredibly flexible, understanding, and patient with us. She worked within our budget and was always realistic with us. She did site visits, mockups, and multiple revisions for us to get to a point that we were both satisfied. The day of the event, her crew came in and made miracles happen. We were truly blown away by the arrangements she did. Our guests could NOT stop talking about them.
If you're looking for someone to bring your vision to life, I highly recommend The Wild Fleur Co!! Marissa cares deeply about her work and her customers and you will be left in good hands.
I love Marissa. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is so nice and so easy to work with, and she is an amazing listener. As we started planning florals for my wedding, she sent multiple inspiration boards to try to pin down my vision. I am not particularly knowledgeable about flowers, so each time, she included descriptions of what each type of flower was so that I could be specific about what I liked and didn’t like. And if I wasn’t sure about something, she asked really good questions so that I could better explain what I wanted. The flowers on the wedding day were absolutely stunning - she made what had been in my head come to life. I am so happy that we found her, and am already trying to think of new projects so we can work together again.
I found Marissa while looking at Instagram at a friend's wedding in Napa. I saw her tablescape and immediately fell in love with her beautiful pallet and soft textures in the bouquets and center pieces. When I first met with Marissa we had a Zoom call which was nice to see her face to face and discussed my color palette, and my vision, and she offered amazing suggestions. I knew I was going to enjoy working together.
Marisa was insanely communicative throughout the entire process and so understanding when I decide to change most of my color scheme.
We worked very closely on the centerpieces, larger arrangements, ceremony details, etc, and every time we left a call I grew more and more excited about the end result. As a huge flower lover florals were one of my favorite vendors for our wedding!
Thank you, Marissa, for your amazing work and I wish I could receive floral arrangements from you every day!
This review is a year over due. We wanted a grand hanging floral centerpiece with a chandelier in the center but didn't expect it be so expensive. We narrowed down our search to a handful of florists then interviewed 3. The Wild Fleur was only 1 year old by the time we interviewed Marissa in September 2021 but it was her energy, passion, prompt response, & her ability to work with our budget that made us choose her.
Marissa is such a kind-hearted soul who's really passionate about what she does. She was detailed-oriented and made sure that she provided every element that we wanted. She gave us great practical advice and was always upfront about everything. We ran into many issues (i.e. vase shipping delays) but she was able to work through all of them. She is also very proactive in coming up with a solution. For example, we wanted a draped backdrop with our neon sign along with some florals. The neon sign is heavy and can't be attached to the wall so we had to find a sturdy enough material to hang it on. Marissa offered to repaint her wooden frame to match our theme and/or rent a metal stand from a fellow florist. Although we found an alternative solution, she just goes above & beyond in any task or challenge that's brought to her attention.
On the day of the wedding, we were a bit concern since we were given a tight window for set-up but Marissa & her team did an excellent job! When we walked through the doors and saw the hanging floral centerpiece, we were in awe. All the flowers from the table centerpieces to the sweetheart table were so beautiful & lush as well! The arrangements along with the pops of blue tulips were perfect for our winter wedding theme. Not only that, Marissa was so generous in providing us complimentary bud vases for our welcome table/seating chart area and even used the extra smilax around the staircase entrance. We cannot compliment, thank, or recommend Marissa enough!
We are so thankful we came across Marissa and her floral work. We didn’t have any real specific asks other than something colorful and romantic that tied with our venue. I fully trusted Marissa’s suggestion - I don’t believe I requested a single flower! Marissa was spot on with the variety she chose. She was patient and knowledgeable in every meeting and walk through. She adapted to changes as the pandemic impacted supply and communicated in a timely manner. The end results were stunning! Each bouquet, floral installation and table arrangement was breathtaking and truly elevated the entire day. Marissa Is an artist and worth every penny. Her dedication and creativity is evident. She truly puts love and attention into her work and we cannot recommend her enough!
We worked with Marissa for our wedding this year and I am so grateful we found her! Flowers were the first thing I focused on for our wedding and when I reached out to Marissa I had no clue what our day was going to look like yet but she was patient, open minded, supportive and encouraging during our conversations!
I cannot tell her enough how grateful we were for her, our flowers the day of came out BEAUTIFUL! She pulled together exactly what we wanted without much guidance from us! Marissa clearly enjoys what she does, she is so easy to work with, and is a beautifully calm presence. She thought of a couple things to help elevate our ceremony and backyard and included this in our day, and this thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. The flowers were absolutely stunning.
When we reminisce on our day and show photos to those those not at the day, every single person comments on how gorgeous the flowers are, which they were! We are forever grateful.
From the start of the process to the absolutely breathtaking finished product, Marissa was professional, organized, and so easy to work with. She worked with me to understand my aesthetic and style for my wedding and executed the most perfect florals. I wanted a bit more of an organic style and she totally nailed it! She made the most fabulous mood board so I could envision the look before the wedding and I couldn't believe that the florals were even better in person. I had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the flowers were. I did an a la carte option to fit my budget and it worked out perfectly. You can tell Marissa is extremely passionate and driven and that passion shows through in her work. I admire her work ethic and her talent and I cannot say enough great things about her. She was so understanding and worked with me and the changes that came from our original venue being in the fire zones only a few weeks before our wedding. We had to find a new venue (that ended up being my parents’ backyard) and downsize our wedding and Marissa was so sweet and helpful throughout the process. Thank you so much, Marissa!
Marissa at The Wild Fleur was so accommodating during uncertain planning stages during covid, and I highly recommend working with her. From start to finish, it was a seamless process and her work was absolutely stunning
