We absolutely LOVED having our wedding at the willow tree. I would recommend anyone to go here!! Very fair pricing, Ben was extremely nice and helpful throughout the entire process and overall we just had a great time.
This was my dream venue since I was 10! Ben was so amazing! Super easy to work with even though I live in Texas now! He answered any questions quickly, and helped with recommendations! Can not be more thankful.
Working with Ben for my wedding day at The Willow Tree was absolutely PERFECT! The venue itself is the most beautiful place to get married. it is everything I wanted and more! Ben made sure I was 150% satisfied and that I had everything I needed. if the outdoor, rustic , or even boho wedding is what you're looking for this is the place! My guests were in awe. this is the place you want! DO NOT PASS THIS BEAUTIFUL VENUE UP!!
Ben, the owner and manager of The Willow Tree, was so helpful throughout this process. He responded to all emails and phone calls very quickly, never left us wondering about details. He was a wealth of knowledge and experience when it came to planning, we couldn’t have been happier with this gorgeous venue! Everything about The Willow Tree exceeded our expectations, and we had our dream wedding.
I loved The Willow Tree, we honestly booked the venue because of Ben. He made everybody feel like we found the right place for us immediately. He has excellent vendor recommendations and it made planning a breeze. The day of was calm and beautiful. You thought you saw the prettiest spot then you moved over and saw an even better one!
I am going with 5 stars and they deserved it. There was one issue though, the neighbor decided to shoot targets during my ENTIRE ceremony. It was funny but I'm not sure everybody would like that.
I could not have asked for a better wedding. Ben the owner is very helpful with all aspects of wedding planning and I loved our time at the willow tree!
Will recommend to anyone!
I was blown away by the beauty of this venue and for the price, you can’t beat it! Ben is the owner and lives there, so he’s very involved the entire night ensuring things run smoothly. I just was married there on 6/29/19 and from the gorgeous bridal suite to the breathtaking view of the property to the rustic barn with twinkling lights, it was everything I ever wanted.
The willow tree is a great venue to get married at. the owner Ben does an amazing job at helping you out with whatever you need. It's a beautiful place even on a rainy day. I had enough space to get married in the barn and still have enough room for tables and dancing room. The bridal room is such a great space 5o get ready in. I highly recommend The Willow Tree in Tipp City.
My wedding day was absolutely perfect. This was a great venue because it was easy for guests to go from ceremony to the reception. The owner, Ben, helped out with any question we had. He also helped set up an extra table last minute because of my miscount. Everything went smoothly and my guests seemed to love the laid back vibe. The only suggestion I have for future brides is to make sure you plan the set up really well. you are almost always only able to set up the morning of because of events on other days. It took more time then I had thought, so make sure you have lots of help and lots of labeled boxes! Regardless of my poor planning this was perfect place for my wedding and it turned out great!
As the bride, I thoroughly enjoyed my wedding day! The venue is beautiful and I have incredible pictures to look back on. With a large event, 200+, there were some people involved in the big day that didn’t have as great of an experience as I did, but that is to be expected with such a large event. The venue was accommodating to our large crowd and offered a lot of space to make it not feel clustered. My only issue with the entire day was the temperature in the bridal suite, but with a large bridal party and a hair/makeup team packed in there, that’s also to be expected! We selected a lot of vendors on Ben’s recommendation and it couldn’t have gone smoother with catering, the DJ, and the cake delivery. I am very grateful for the memories I have of that day! Not many brides can say that they were truly able to relax in the hours leading up to their ceremony, but I was able to. Overall, my husband and I had an amazing wedding day experience and had an absolute blast at The Willow Tree!
We went a toured at the Willow tree and cannot say anything better about how Ben interacted with us and made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole tour. We ended up going with another venue but wanted to make sure Ben got his credit. His property is gorgeous and he really knows how to run a wedding. I would not worry on your wedding day when its in Bens hands!
I’m generously giving one star because the venue is breathtakingly beautiful. If you book your wedding here, that’s all you’ll enjoy about it. You’ll be tempted by the beauty when you first see it, but there are many other beautiful places that are REAL wedding venues with excellent customer service. You have to pay extra or haul all of your own trash away. The owner, Ben, lives there and was extremely rude to us and guests throughout the day. Unprofessional is an understatement when describing his behavior! He laid on his front porch during the rehearsal, letting everyone know that he was ready for all to leave. His kids run around during your event. He has a beautiful bridal suite that he locks up and tells the party it’s because his kid’s bedrooms are above it and he doesn’t want people in it so they can sleep. He told the photographer that “ a single leaf better not be out of place.” The absolute worst part was him and his wife rushing out and folding up chairs and putting tables away as soon as they spotted anyone leaving. They were packing up the place while many guests were still there. We had the venue until midnight! It was so rude and embarrassing. Ben was extremely nice when we put down our deposit and booked the place but rude, unhelpful, impatient from that point forward. His heart is on getting as much money as possible and he makes it very clear that he does not actually want people on his property once the event arrives. He will be at your event, watching everyone and speaking rudely to your guests. You will have to worry about him and what he’s saying, all day long! If you book this venue, know that you are essentially paying a rude guy to let you use his yard/barn for your wedding but then when it’s time for the big day, he doesn’t want you there and will embarrass you, and himself, all day long! We had a little over 200 guests and have heard so many comments about the owner that day. I know he lost any potential business from anyone who attended. I wish we had read more reviews before we booked. If you look on Yelp and other places, you will find many like this review. His FB only has good ones so we assume he can control the comments. RUN from this venue!
We met with Ben to set a date for our wedding. Which we have not got married yet. But Ben was so knowledgeable and nice. He did A run through of everything leaving us with very few questions. The questions we did have he answered. My fiancé’s family has done this many times, however mine has not. He did great at making us feel comfortable and making sure we knew everything we needed! So excited to have our wedding there next year!!
Ben (owner) was so accommodating and very quick to respond to emails. He did whatever he could to make the day exactly how we wanted it. Not to mention, he keeps up the property beautifully - you hardly need decorations because of the venue's natural beauty!
The Willow Tree was the perfect setting for our wedding. The owner, Ben, was very helpful and was always willing to answer any questions we had, including questions about other vendors. We had the option of paying extra to set up the evening before, which worked out great because we had a Friday wedding. Ben was always willing to help. I do recommend reading the contract closely (as contracts should always be read), because there may be items listed that cost extra (such as heaters, trash service, linens). Ben was very transparent about these costs and informed us about it before booking the venue. Overall, it is a fantastic, beautiful venue and the owner was great to work with. I highly recommend it for any bride!
The venue was beautiful. We had wonderful weather on the wedding day so that was exceptionally helpful, but the ceremony sight was lovely. It is a little simple so bring your own decor to add your own personal style to the caroming if you want to decorate. The bridal suite was spacious and clean, and the bathrooms for an outdoor barn area were very nice. The barn was lovely with the lights at night. A bit dusty, and there were parts that seemed like they needed cleaning or maybe some patchwork but overall it was wonderful. The owner is very helpful and tells you what needs to be done, but don't feel pressured and make it clear what you want to him. He is very accommodating. The little pond area was lovely during sunset and since we had an evening wedding, it wasn't muggy at all for the middle of August. Overall this place was beautiful and definitely work looking into if you're looking for a rustic venue without being completely country.
Owner Ben Bickert is a con man. We toured the Willow Tree last year, hoping to have our wedding there on July 1. We told him we were from out of town, as were all of our guests. He didn't tell us the challenges we would face not having local resources to put on the wedding before taking an $800 deposit from us and putting pressure on us to sign a contract claiming so many people were interested in that date. We fell for it, paid him, and then started to realize how difficult it would to pull off a successful wedding with no "friends with trucks, haul your own garbage abilities, etc."
We QUICKLY told him it wouldn't work out, and he said he would consider refunding our deposit if he could rebook the date. I believe I was lied to when he told me for months after that he couldn't rebook it. Then we find out he had not only one, but three weddings that weekend. I realize a contract is a contract, but a good wedding vendor wants to make sure you have the best day ever. I was hoping he could find it in his conscience to return at least some of the deposit, and he couldn't.
Ladies, if you want your guest to use an outhouse without running water and haul your own garbage away from the venue on your wedding day, then this is the place for you. If you don't want to do it, then you get to subject your parents, family and friends to do it. It's no big deal, he'll tell you before taking your money, but think long and hard about what that means and how you plan to make it work before signing up.
I toured many wedding venues in Tipp City, and for the price, there are better options that give that rustic vibe you're probably going for.
The Willow Tree was such an amazing venue for our wedding! It was exactly what I was wanting for our rustic wedding. Ben, the owner, was very communicative and helpful and let us come out to the venue a couple times so we could measure stuff and look around. I would definitely recommend if you are wanting an outdoor wedding! The location also has hotels, gas stations, and restaurants a few miles down the road that guests can go to if needed!
Ben was fantastic. helped us dodge complaints from our parents. very professional. beautiful venue. would have our wedding there again if given a chance.
Ben was so helpful, and this venue was beyond beautiful. The barn set the tone for our day flawlessly, and I would highly recommend this venue. Anything we needed, Ben was there to help, and the building and grounds were so pretty we had a hard time deciding which beautiful spots to take pictures next to.
I fell in love with the Willow Tree as soon as I first went to check it out. It was the perfect place to have our wedding reception, especially to fit our fall them for a late October wedding. The old barn just gave a perfect feel to celebrate our marriage ceremony. Even though it was rainy and a little cool, it was perfect. We were able to get pictures by the willow tree (hence the name of the place) and on the little bridge over the nice little pond before it started pouring down rain. Ben, the owner, was so easy and nice to talk to and plan things out. I would recommend having your wedding or just a reception at this beautiful place.
I was so disappointed with my interaction with Ben, the owner of The Willow Tree. After we signed our contract I looked into the industrial heaters he said we might need to heat the barn for our November 1st wedding date, and discovered it to be an additional $700 expense. My mistake for not getting this information before signing, but what can I say; I've never planned a wedding before, and Ben's urgent tone hastened my decision to book.
Putting aside the fact that clients should reasonably expect their host to, at a minimum, provide heat for their venue (let alone a place to deposit garbage, adequate restrooms, and cooler space), what really upset me was that when I let Ben know I was having a hard time rationalizing the added cost and sheepishly asked if it would be possible to cancel and refund our $800 deposit, he refused, even though it was ELEVEN months in advance. Almost an entire year left for someone else to snag the date, which was the only Saturday left open on The Willow Tree's calendar. Surely a venue in such high demand would have no trouble rebooking the date.
Then I asked if he'd consider hanging onto our money until the date was rebooked. Nope! Now, I understand that a contract is a contract, but there is also simple human decency to consider. We are a young couple paying for our own wedding, and losing that deposit was quite devastating. Finally he agreed to refund $200 of our deposit if someone else took our date.
Not surprisingly, the date ended up being taken by another couple. He did not contact us, of course; I had to check facebook to see for myself once the date arrived. When we contacted him about the $200 refund, first he pretended not to know what we were talking about, then he flat out refused, again saying "a contract is a contract." Finally, after some more pushing, he sent a check.
Everyone knows that contracts are binding, but this was the behavior of a jerk. A greedy one. It's a shame such a beautiful and historic property fell into the hands of someone so shady.
Can think of no better spot to ever get married. A truly beautiful setting, with lots of great photo opps and room to create your own theme with decorations. The grounds is really like stepping into a classic painting.
The barn makes for a wonderful reception area.
It's a place where your dream wedding can be made true.
The guests will also enjoy all the beauty.
WOW! What a beautiful property! I had such a hard time finding an outdoor wedding venue to fit my shabby chic, rustic, vintage theme. The Willow Tree nailed it!
Ben was an absolute pleasure to work with and was very quick to replying to any questions that I had for him. I lived about an hour and a half away, so I had to frequently contact him with questions concerning planning and he was always eager to help.
The barn with the gorgeous chandeliers is stunning and the well-landscaped areas make this venue a one-of-a-kind. The amount of compliments I received were endless on it's natural charm and character. It is naturally a beautiful place with a very romantic-vibe and presents many gorgeous locations for photo ops.
I HIGHLY recommend this venue to any bride. You will not regret it:)
So pretty! And they are super helpful. It was perfect. The only thing bad I heard was it was super hot so some fans might be nice.
My husband and I booked our wedding reception at the Willow Tree in Tipp City immediately after seeing the property. We had looked at a number of venues closer to downtown Dayton, as our ceremony was at UD, but nothing seemed perfect and I was about to settle for something less-than-perfect until we saw the Willow Tree. The historic barn sits on a pond overlooking farmland and next to the beautiful mansion (which is only available for brides preparing for their ceremonies, not for rental, but is a beautiful backdrop nonetheless). Not only was it more beautiful than any other site we visited, but it also offered quite a few things that many other similar venues did not: legitimate bathrooms (not just port-a-potties, like many other 'rustic' venues have), the option to pay a little extra for an additional night (i.e. Friday night for set up or rehearsal dinner for a Saturday wedding), a choice of caterers, BYOB (instead of paying exhorbitant prices for liquor 'packages', which was one of our major decision factors), and perhaps my favorite - complete flexibility. Whether it was what time we wanted to start and end, how we wanted to set up the space, when things were going to be delivered, the owners (who live on the property) were very open to what I wanted or worked best for us. I worked most with Ben, who seemed willing to bend over backwards for us. We didn't have a wedding planner and I'm from out of state, so a lot of the planning was difficult, but Ben provided many references for us (for bartenders and caterers, among other things), all of which worked out great. But that's not all... Our wedding was in May, and we hoped for perfect weather, but leading up to the wedding, it looked like it might get a little chilly. In my wedding prep haze, I completely forgot to worry about our guests getting cold, until my mother-in-law brought it up the morning of the wedding. We had previously talked to Ben about renting heaters if need be through Prime Time or another company, but I had completely forgotten to follow up, now that we did in fact need them. So, the morning of the wedding, I called Ben and instead of me calling Prime Time or another rental company, he was able to work directly with a company he knew and had the heaters set up when we arrived just a few hours later. It was so nice to not have to do it myself but to know that it was taken care of and not worry about it. I found that quite a few of my wedding vendors were unreliable in the one task that they were supposed to do expertly, but Ben and the Willow Tree were the opposite. He and his wife were so flexible and pleasant to work with, yet also extremely professional and more than capable. It wasn't the least expensive venue we saw, but we were able to do so many things ourselves (alcohol and flowers and music, to name a few) because the Willow Tree was so flexible, that we certainly ended up saving money. They also let us have lawn games which was fun! I would recommend them and the Willow Tree to anyone.
okay this place deserves NO STARS even though that is not a choice. the heartless owner of this place closed his venue the february before our june wedding this year, without telling us! we found out from a bridesmaid who saw a story about another bride who was on the news. when i went to call, the phone was disconnected, the website and facebook pages were gone. We were very blessed to find an even better venue at that short of notice, but it really set us back and was extremely heartbreaking. we eventually received our deposit, but we advise other brides and grooms to be very very careful in signing a contract and putting a deposit down - make sure there are specific terms for getting your money back if the venue fails you.
Our wedding was held at the Willowtree Inn, in Tipp City, Ohio. It was FABULOUS!! We loved everything about it!! It was an outdoor wedding and it was the perfect setting, from the trees to the pond. Everything was just was I was hoping! Very simple and still wonderful!
My reception venue was just across the bridge of a small pond from our wedding ceremony site which was outdoors. Our reception took place inside a beautiful old rustic red barn with open spaces and wonderfully decorated in white lights and open beams. The over flow of guest that didn't get seated in the barn went into a white tent also decorated in white lights over looking the pond.;Lots of rules and you must take your own trash home they do not provide waste services.
I loved the beautiful gardens and landscaped grounds where we had our ceremony done and photos taken. The giant old willowtree the small bridge across the pond and the tree lined drive leading up to the site are accented by the lovely flowers planted all over the grounds. I also loved that they provided a backup plan for rain (the tent and barn used for the reception could be converted for the ceremony too) for no additional charge (luckily we didn't need it)! The staff was very helpful with suggesting different ways of setting things up and also took care of parking. They also set up the table and chairs according to the plan you approve so it's less for you to do the day of. Aircoditioned rooms were provided inside the Inn for the Bride's party to get ready and a airconditioned side building for the Groom and his party so that you don't crosss paths before the big 'I do'. You have the option of renting out the entire Inn the day and night of the ceremony if you'd like access to the main building. We hired a babysitter and used one of the rooms for some of the young children who were tired or bored at the reception to retire to and it worked out great. Spending the night at the Inn directly after the reception (that ended at midnight) was wonderful too wouldn't have wanted to worry about driving somewhere else afterwards. The Willowtree Inn itself is a great place to stay very comfortable beds and pillows nice clean rooms and bathrooms modernized without loosing their charm.;While this is a great place to have a semi-formal or more laid back ceremony or reception I wouldn't call it black tie. The reception site is a nice white tent (the kind that has the curved foe paned windows along the sides) that is errected over a concrete pad and connected to the entrance of the barn. The tent has a couple of white globe shaped lanterns hung from the ceiling and the barn is strung with white christmas lights and has a couple of iron chandaliers hanging down to dress it up but most of the decorating will be up to you. The restrooms are off to the side of the barn and while they are equiped with indoor plumbing and kept very clean and well stocked there is only one toilet for the men and one for the women and both are small spaces. The dance floor inside the barn is also a concrete floor so if you're dressing it up some you might consider renting an outdoor dance floor to put over it (However I must note that they talked me out of this and I think it worked out better because the dance floor was less structured and people coule mingle more easily). While the Willowtree does provide many services without additional fees trash removal will cost an extra $50.00.
