Martine was everything we could have hoped for and more! We hired Martine early on as a “month of/day of” wedding planner. Even though we hired her for the “month of” service, she was always open to talking with us throughout the year leading up to our wedding. She was in the loop with everything and helped us tremendously. She was always willing to answer questions or offer a suggestion as we looked for other vendors. Eight months before our wedding when we found out our original venue, which was under construction, wasn’t going to be ready in time, I thought our wedding was hopeless and not going to happen. Martine listened to us and she helped us figure out what to do. Being an attune person who pays close attention to detail, she heard excitement in my voice when describing one of three venues in CT that happened to have our date available 8 months prior and she helped bring us clarity in choosing a new venue under extreme circumstances and we couldn’t have been happier. Our wedding wasn’t easy - there were a lot of logistics and Martine handled everything with ease! From coordinating the coach buses for our guests to creating a schedule that outlined our day down to the minute, Martine helped make our day perfect. There was such peace of mind knowing everything was going to be ok and Martine was in charge, which allowed us to fully enjoy our day - which is crucial, because it goes by in a flash. We would recommend Martine to anyone without a doubt!
Best decision made! Working with Martine was amazing from start to finish. This Modern Love Events was the first vendor we booked when beginning our wedding planning process. As my now Husband and I live in Texas and we were planning our wedding in Connecticut, we wanted someone to help us out with all the details who is familiar with the area without always having to rely on family. We signed up for the month of/day of coordination but Martine went above and beyond. She agreed to look over all of our vendor contracts prior to signing to ensure we covered our basis and weren't signing anything that could come back to hurt us. This of course all took place prior to a month before the wedding. In addition, shortly after we hired Martine, her family was offered an opportunity to move out to California. Rather than cancel the contract and make us find a new planner, she kept our event and covered her own travel expenses from CA to CT. The natural wedding stresses that rise as the date approaches were alleviated by having Martine on board. She handled everything from setting the schedule, making sure everyone was where they needed to be, helped set up and tear down. Our wedding day and night was better than we could have imagined! A big thank you to Martine for that! We highly recommend Martine and This Modern Love Events for your big day!
I couldn't say enough positive things about Martine. Profeasional, personable, and very knowledgeable. Martine was very patient and always available even before our contracted time began. I would recommend her services to anyone even if just for a day of coordinator.
Martine was the first vendor we hired and it was one of the best decisions we made. My husband and I both have busy jobs, so we needed help to plan our wedding in only 5 months time. Martine helped us plan our entire wedding, including researching vendors, creating the wedding day schedule, coordinating and working with the vendors. Martine was a pleasure to work with, very friendly, and responsive to emails and calls at all hours of the day. Martine saved me from hours of research and planning.
She found some great vendors that we loved and was able to coordinate with the hotel we were staying to use their free shuttle as opposed hiring additional transportation. On the day of the wedding, we were able to completely relax and enjoy the day as Martine had all the logistics covered. Everything went flawlessly and it was all thanks to Martine's efforts. Martine remained calm and made sure everything was on schedule, dealt with any problems that arose, and we felt secure knowing that Martine was handling everything from start to finish. I asked Martine for a consultation immediately after returning from being engaged overseas and am so happy I did. Although I was quite comfortable with the thought of orchestrating the logistics involved behind my destination wedding given my long background in professional event management, I was out of my comfort zone when it came to understanding the tips, tricks, and tools needed to put on such a personal and important occasion. Enter Martine.
My husband and I had originally hired Martine for her "digital planning" package to have access to forms and spreadsheets to help us structure the planning process. As the months passed, we found ourselves turning to Martine for sound advice on topics ranging from etiquette to detailed logistics. Six months before our wedding in downtown Chicago, we realized that our wedding day would go much more smoothly if Martine were our month and day-of coordinator. We were right; she stepped in to help in a hands-on way for the month leading up to our big day. It was especially helpful to have her be the main point of contact with vendors and to meet with us in person each month to go through our lengthy lists of questions.
Martine is a rock star. She has a contagious laugh, is a pleasure to work with, and impressed me with her professionalism and positive attitude. Despite a few roadblocks that came with planning a wedding in Chicago while we were in Connecticut, she was our go to person who always had a helpful piece of advice to shepherd us along the way.
We absolutely loved our wedding day and were able to enjoy it knowing that Martine was there to liaise with our vendors, check in on logistics, and deal with any issues that arose - allowing me to be the happy bride instead of an events manager!
My husband and I hired This Modern Love events for day of/month of coordination for our October wedding. Martine was awesome. We met with her and went over our wedding vision and ideas and she helped guide us along and give us pointers/tips, which were extremely helpful. A month before the wedding, she confirmed all of our vendors, reviewed all of our contracts and helped us set up a payment schedule. Then when it came down the actual day, she didn't miss a beat. Martine came to our rehearsal at the church and did a fantastic job keeping running smooth. The day of was perfectly coordinated, Martine kept us on schedule and the day was absolutely perfect. I would definitely use This Modern Love Events for your upcoming wedding!!
We are so delighted to have found Martine as a month-of coordinator. She's super organized, very on top of deadlines, friendly, and all of our vendors raved about her. They loved working with her as much as we did.
Martine did a lot of research and found the vendor for our rentals (linens, etc.), which was a huge thing off of our plate and so so helpful.
There were quite a few times where I'd overlooked something or hadn't thought it all the way through, and Martine took my idea and made it better and more guest & vendor friendly. It was so helpful and needed.
Plus, we had a last minute crisis with the catering company (they had not hired staff) and Martine graciously negotiated the price and handled the deal with the catering manager, which was something she did not have to do.
She put together an incredibly detailed timeline of both the wedding day and the days leading up to it, which was helpful to us, the vendors and the wedding party.
If you are looking for someone who is super organized, extremely knowledgeable about weddings, and easy to work with, Martine is your woman! If you want someone who will be a bride or groom-zilla on your behalf, look elsewhere. She's just too nice!
Everything we didn't know to think of, Martine thought of. We can't say enough good things about her. We love her so much, that we invited her to our rehearsal dinner!! We highly recommend her and our day was seamless, enjoyable and effortless because she was around.

I worked alongside This Modern Love Events on a wedding on May 30th 2015 at the Grand Roosevelt Ballroom in Yonkers NY. Martine was great from day one. Constantly communicating with me through email of any changes.She kept me informed of all information that was needed for the wedding. Her Itnieary was greatly detailed and it made the wedding go flawless (which is difficult at weddings lol) During the event, she updated me on everything and was open to any suggestions. I will gladly do another event with Martine for her exemplary professionalism and organizational skills.

Choosing to work with Martine at This Modern Love Events was one of the best decisions that we made during the whole wedding planning process! From the very first consultation meeting we could tell that she was the right planner for us, and so we hired her on the spot. We chose the "Month Of / Day Of" planning services, which was so helpful as we came down to the most stressful part of the planning process - trying to pull all the final pieces together. I am so glad that we chose to work with TML for the full month of the wedding as it really gave us a chance to get to know Martine and to feel confident that everything was in place ahead of time.
We really cannot say enough about Martine. She is very professional while still keeping it all fun, and she is extremely patient! No matter how many times I changed my mind or put off a decision until the last minute she was always calm and supportive, which helped me to keep my anxiety in check. Her expert advice along the way helped us to make some of the most difficult last minute decisions. She definitely went above and beyond our expectations a number of times.
Most importantly, working with This Modern Love allowed my husband and me to feel confident before our wedding weekend and to enjoy a stress-free wedding day. TML was crucial in the days before our wedding coordinating the vendor services. The help that Martine and her assistant offered during the set-up, the rehearsal, and the day-of was invaluable.
We had initially been on the fence about whether or not we needed to use a coordinator or if we could just handle things ourselves, and after my experience I cannot imagine any other way. Choosing to work with This Modern Love was a great investment and we wholeheartedly recommend their services!
